Re: Christmas on December 4 (78,998) (78,999) by Edward from USA
Thanks, Licia. She's doing November 27 and 28, and December 4 and 5 at Beacon Theater this year. I didn't think she would.

Re: Christmas on December 4 (78,996) (78,998) by Licia from USA
I thought she wasn't doing any Beacon shows. Anyway enjoy. I wish I was going to NY this year instead of next. Hopefully she'll do it in 2018. I meant to put I thought she was taking the Beacon shows to Vegas.

Christmas on December 4 (78,996) by Edward from USA
I got Tickets for the Christmas Show at Beacon Theater for December 4. Seeing Mariah getting back in shape, sounding better, and without Stella and family as a chaperone, I can say I'm excited to go see her once again at Beacon Theater. The Christmas Show is way different from her regular concerts, it's definitely festive, the production is great, the visuals, lighting, everything. And since it's a relatively short concert, plus everything that goes on stage, time really flies leaving you with a sense of wanting more. The fact that the venue is somewhat intimate, makes it even better.

JT to return to the Superbowl (78,995) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I know this is off-topic, and I thought after 13 years I was able to move on, but this is just saddening. I mean, I like Justin and part of me is actually excited that he may use it as a platform for his return to music with new material, but a bigger part of me feels bad for Janet, who Justin has admittedly left in the dirt following the infamous wardrobe malfunction incident. Justin has pretty much gotten away scot-free, while Janet has been demonized, blacklisted for several years and practically shunned, the side effects of which still linger to this day. It was truly inconsiderate of Justin to just leave a legend (whose performing talent and contributions to popular music and culture are greater than what he will ever achieve in several lifetimes) alone to deal with the most brutal backlash and carping in music history since Madonna circa 1992. It also proves that, even in 2017, the harsh truth of men getting away easily for acts that women are punished for is still very much true. I think he needs to make amends with Janet before he hits the stage. Or actually surprise everyone and bring her up on stage. But then again, the sexist powers that be wouldn't let that happen, would they? Justice for Janet.

"Right to Dream" and even though it didn't make it to the soundtrack, "Help Me Make It Through The Night".

Oh yes, she looks like the superstar she is. The natural make-up with black and grey dress, classy and cool in one. I have a feeling she's decided to start a "new" direction or at least to be more herself again. I was missing that, as you all know.

Karl Lagerfeld dinner (78,991) by Licia from USA
She looked nice and she sounded good from this little clip of WBT. I hope she's able to keep this up for the Beacon shows and the tour.

Article: Mariah Carey thanks fans for supporting her music (78,990) by Betty from Canada
She was kind, exciting, and fun. A woman of substance, at least he is not wrong about that. I think MC is holding back a bit when she sings "Star" to let Dem Babies shine. Because she could easily go full force and belt that out real loud but doesn't so we can hear Dem Babies.

Re: The Star (78,977) (78,989) by Critter from USA
Can't agree more. It is the closest to the original Mariah we fell in love with. No singing with fingers trying to write something in the air if you know what I mean. She just sang the notes the way they are supposed to be sung. I love The Star.

Soundtracks and Mariah (78,986) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Are these the only four Soundtrack songs Mariah has done? (not including "Glitter"):
When You Believe
Almost Home
The Star
100% (meant for Precious and Angels Advocate album, but later used for 2010 Winter Olympics)

I'm still in mourning over George Michael. Since he passed, I have been rediscovering and listening to his music almost daily. I agree, too bad George and Mariah didn't get a chance to collaborate on a song together. I was watching the video "Knew You Were Waiting" on YouTube this morning and thought, "Man, this dude at a very young age already had a duet with the Queen of Soul. That is mad respect." And yes, honey yes, he was just so damn gorgeous, hot, sexy, and fine. There will never, ever, in life ever, be another George Michael.

Christmas concerts Europe (78,984) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Is anyone going to the UK Christmas concert or in Paris? The tickets are selling so fast, Paris is sold-out except some "luxury" tickets. I wonder if it will be the exact show like in NY at the Beacon. What I've seen on YouTube was really festive and enjoyable. I hope she will enjoy the upcoming concerts too. And of course all the lambs who're going. "The star" is on repeat, I'm happy to hear classic Mariah again.

Thanks for sharing. I love "One Child" and this orchestra version is just wow. It should be in a movie, what a perfect arrangement. The songs that Mariah and Marc Shaiman created on MC2 are already new classics.

Packer speaks (78,980) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Wow he said a whole lot and what I gathered from his interview was besides having financial issues he was trying to deal with his marriage collapsing and missing his children. We as observers on the outside looking in are so quick to think we know someone by their public persona. Personally I respect James for being open and honest, and for still showing respect for MC even though things did not go as planned. What was even more telling was the part of the interview where James mentioned with everything falling apart financially he also had MC breaking up with him, so it was like he was losing it all. Hopefully this will be some kind of inspiration for MC to take time away from all chaos around her, and focus on getting herself centered, and having some real down time with Rocky and Roe Roe without the circus bells and whistles.

Re: George Michael (78,972) / biopics (78,979) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
The Freedom documentary was great. What elevates it from other documentaries is that George did much of the storytelling. The only thing missing is input from people closest to George - family and close friends who aren't superstars. Nonetheless, he truly was a phenomenal artist.
It's nice that some biopics and music documentaries in the past few years have been as great as this one, such as Whitney's, Amy's and Gaga's. It's a shame Mariah doesn't know what a documentary is and came up with that deplorable piece of garbage which did not live up to its title and basically revealed nothing that the public doesn't already know. If it was put out to villainize Mariah and tarnish her legacy, then it's surely done a fantastic job with that and then some.

The Star (78,977) by Bobby A from United States
I am so happy and pleased to say that The Star reminds me so much of the MC I fell for in 1990. It is the best song she has released that is simply Mariah Carey. I bought my copy today. I love it.

Bi-polar? (78,975) by BLEUX ROGUE from U. S. A.
Maybe she's bipolar. Drunk. High. Drugged out. I'd say drunk. She needs rehab bad. I'll stick to vintage early 1990's Mariah.
