I've heard Don't Forget About Us, I Stay In Love, Bye Bye, Inseperable, and You're Mine all tarred with the same brush. The similiarity is probably the sparse production and a staccato delivery in the vocals. Thing is, when I first heard WBT, I just thought it was an updated Breakdown because of those factors I mentioned. The only one in the list that's sonically similar is probably I Stay In Love. I say to those that complain, get used to it, Walter style balladry ain't coming back anytime soon. (Sunday 22 May 2016; 18:39)

Mariah's World (62,523) by Manny from U.S. I'm excited to see the docuseries. I hope it captures more backstage things. I really want to see more of her behind the scenes things related to music. It would be heaven if she shows her vocal warm ups. When she starts singing better in Europe with stronger belts, I imagine she was doing a thorough warm up. If she rehearsed with the band, that would be great. I also like the diva things like wardrobe and make up. It would be cool to see Kristofer making her up to be "Mariah the superstar", while they should any wigs. I saw there is rehearsal moments from the preview. I'm a big fan and I see Mariah appreciates us. She is a busy bee with her kids. I see how much she tries to balance work and mommy life. Travelling with kids is not easy. Mariah is cheating (62,520) by Mariah from Us Guys I'm always reading this messageboard and some of you are dead wrong, while some of you hit the nail on the head with these topics. It is very clear that Mariah in fact is cheating on James Packer, when Mariah was with Nick they were around each other as much as Mariah and Bryan are with each other now, why was Bryan having champagne laying down in a car with Mariah just a few days ago? I really don't care if she cheats but it's just so annoying the way it's getting swept under the rug and then we have some people claiming Bryan is gay, I find that very hard to believe. I know how riled up everyone gets on this messageboard so I'm ready for it but I'm glad I spoke my mind. Sidenote: What's with Mariah having a nip slip every other day now? Stella posts on ig and calls Mariah "her sister". I know I would never let my sister nip out and she ain't even a national superstar. I don't understand what the hell is going on here anymore. There's got to be a way (62,519) by Giovanni from USA I was playing Mariah's debut album for the third time and continuously replaying "There's got to be a way". With everything I hear on the news on the internet I can really relate to the lyrics. It's my second favorite song on the album followed by "I don't want to cry" and "Vanishing". I remember seeing someone here on the board calling the song chessy. I was like "What?" I don't think so. I wish Mariah would write powerful lyrics again like "Vision of love", "There's got to be a way", "Hero" or "Fly like a bird". (Sunday 22 May 2016; 14:24)

Clearly Mariah has put up a wall around herself and does not care about what people say or think about her because of how malicious some have been in the past and her only way to deal with it is not to care or try and cater to everybody because she probably feels like she'll never please everybody so she'd rather have fun and enjoy her life. The only people who could tell her how her fans truly feel about some things are the Bulochnikovs who are clearly riding the diva wave and are having the time of their lives with it and since they handle her social media and probably filter what's going through to her. There still are some lambs in the twitterverse who retweet all the Mariah and Bulochnikovs pictures and don't care about making any other comments than " yas queen". Does anybody remember Liron from MariahDaily who became a part of Mariah's team? She seems to have disappeared from the scene as well. Feels like the Bulochnikovs' World with cameos from Mariah sometimes. I wonder how JD and Lee D feel about her new team. Here's hoping that thunder truly does preceed the sunlight and that she will be alright and finally find her rainbow's end. (Sunday 22 May 2016; 13:20)

Things I learned from listening to Ariana's latest (62,510) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines 1. Ariana (almost) got it right this time. While there are no obvious hits such as Problem or Break Free, the songs from her new record are consistently stronger than her last set. Terrible future collaboration aside (Everyday could've easily been replaced with the awesome Bad Decisions), each song has a stands its own. She wisely demoted Focus to bonus track status. Moonlight is breathtakingly lovely, Into You is towering synthpop done right, Side To Side is infectiously bouncy, and Greedy is irresistibly funky. 2. She is fully aware of the Mariah comparisons - she just doesn't care anymore. Dangerous Woman is just as varied as My Everything, but with the latter, her attempts at trying everything to distance herself from Mariah were so desperately obvious that it ended up sounding disjointed. With DW, she's doing music she actually likes and believes in, letting more of her personality shine through. The tracks function as a unit, tied together by this dark, slinky, undertone, whereas ME was an uneven hodgepodge. DW may still lack identity, but it's a solid, enjoyable outing. 3. She's one of the better artists of her generation. While still having a long way to go in terms of enunciation, there's no denying that voice. This time, she has better material to showcase it. And finally, some growth and risk-taking. Name any current mainstream artist out there who, these days, is still willing to open and close the standard edition of their album with downtempo, jazzy tracks. Some tracks are intriguing as well, such as the unusual mashup of trap and acoustic instrumentation that weirdly works well on Sometimes, the brilliant, almost James-Bond-theme- sounding Leave Me Lonely with Macy freaking Gray, while the bonus track Jason's Song (Gave It Away) is a nod to broadway that pays off. 4. Unlike Mariah who can vary her vocal delivery to suit a song, Ariana's interpretation skills are limited. Her voice also just sounds too young. Her girlish timbre makes something as mature as Dangerous Woman sound like a campfire chant at a girl scout convention. 5. At this point, 3 albums and 2 EPs in, it's clear that she isn't just some wannabe who consciously apes Mariah. Mariah's influence is simply inherent in her. No matter what this girl does, she won't be able to do away with that. The sooner everyone realizes this, the better. There's no sense in hating a girl who just happens to naturally sing and sound like Mariah at times, especially when she clearly is one of us. Too bad the media has other ideas. Automatic kill joy (62,508) by Special K from USA When Mariah announced she was doing the Vegas gig many fans and critics alike said it would be "horrible", a "train wreck", and it was beneath her. Well that turned out to be not true. Now with Mariah's World we are basically hearing the same things. It's unfortunate that expectation for a new Mariah Carey project whether it be a tour, a new album, or a docuseries is anticipated to have a negative outcome. I'm actually looking forward to it because Mariah can be so funny and witty. I think it would be cool to see that side of her more. (Sunday 22 May 2016; 7:28)

I don't know, I'm looking forward to the docu-series. If it's anything like the "Through The Rain" special or the bonus stuff on "The Adventures Of Mimi" tour DVD it'll give a nice behind the scenes look plus some funny and silly sketches for good measure. Unless Mariah suddenly changes her personality, there will always be people who glance at things really quickly and only see "diva".
