L.A. Reid on Wendy Williams Show (59,582)
by Nick from Maryland
| |
|
|
In case anybody missed it L.A. Reid was on the Wendy Williams Show and talked about Mariah for a good 4-5 minutes. I think Wendy's one dream is to have Mariah on her show.

I agree M that was a wonderful moment. She sounded as beautiful as when I first heard her sing those lines on the Butterfly album. Mariah's gesture has given that interviewer something I'm sure he will cherish for the rest of his days.

Aww that video of James dancing to "Heartbreaker" is just so adorable. It's the cutest thing I saw today. I don't care if he can't dance, the fact that he is right there supporting her and busting a move to his fiance's song is everything.

Awww that was so sweet of Mariah to grace him with some music. She sounded splendid and I'm glad she gave him a moment to remember. Not to be a downer but I can totally understand her hesitation though. She's doing a junket and has been talking probably for hours, so it's not fair to put her on the spot. Anyways, very cute. This interviewer can harmonize, MC reference haha.

Thank you Giovanni for reminding me. I think when I wrote this whole post it was late at night and I literally was beyond sick of seeing Lopez everywhere and had enough. I woke up to her in an interview with Ryan Seacrest and of course the gushing over her, then open magazines and see her all in the reviews of award show gowns, to online and the rage of her Vegas show to AI and her new show on TV all in one day. She even had to tell Brenda K how they went "back in the day". I don't think this will be the same message that I deleted by mistake but it just irritates me and I wanted to vent, that this woman is looked at like she is everything and she blatantly came out with her singing career off of someone else's. Her whole look. The whole Jennifer Lopez I remembered didn't have that long blond "Rainbow MC" straight hair. She was morphed into it. But whatever, that is done. What gets me though is that the MC we know as fans, the one that is humble, real, insecure and shy, the general public don't know. Yet that see JLo as this girl next door you can hang with and I have heard otherwise on her but it's never out there. You never see Miss Lopez photographed on every vacation in every country with her kids, it's Mariah who you see. She is an amazing mother to those babies. Perhaps if she just was more relaxed like she is at her shows when she knows she is surrounded by fans, she would come across the real way. What is it about Mariah that when she is interviewed sometimes she comes across as stiff? I would love if MC did a real "sit down" 20/20 Oprah type interview and opened up or let her guard down. I think it would help. Where as people like JLo come across so wonderful and relatable in interviews and I'm sorry I don't think that's the case in real life. I don't think I ever told this story after the Beaconc concert but I will if my post allows. OK, so I felt I probably should continue my message in a part two. My husband got me and my sister the VIP package to the December 17th Beacon show concert for my birthday. It was the same show that MC made up the Christmas in NY song. My 8 year old daughter was with us along with my husband. My daughter is a huge MC fan, and always mentions maybe Roc and Roe will be here mommy. Anyhow, when Mariah had the part where Santa comes out he usually throws out some presents. Now remember we were 4th row and we could see her and she could see us. When Santa started throwing things Mariah herself grabbed a teddy bear and aimed for my daughter and it literally landed on our seat cushion and this older woman with adult daughters grabbed the bear and held on for dear life. Well, Mariah tried again, even as much to say "how about this one it's pink and should go to a child" she tried again and threw as I was screaming again "over here" now maybe I am crazy, but I believe Mariah saw us and that she was a child and did try to get it to us. I even read the review from Billboard of that particular show and it mentions how she personally wanted a child to get the bear. Well like I said I could be totally off, but I know she saw us and that is what I believe in my heart. My husband went online looking for a bear just like it but was unsuccessful. The second persona that caught the second bear was an older woman too and held on to it for dear life. So the next time something was thrown, the very nice tall gentleman in front of us caught it and turned around and gave it to my daughter. He made her day and she got herself a nice pair of red MC socks with a butterfly on them. There are some nice people out there too, since he had no idea what he was giving away. On a side note while we were in the lobby of the Beacon before they let the general public inside Mr. Big Jim came into the theater and stopped at the will call window and then into the lobby, so I managed to meet and get a picture with him. It was such a memorable night, and he is such a lovely person and big kind personality.

It is hilarious but also very endearing to watch because the interviewer is obviously so very nervous to even pop the question, so in the ends he was like "yolo", it's now or never, I'll do it. And after he experiences the ultimate, he gushes about it like a groupie. Aww, you go dude.

My goodness this is the best response for all the haters saying that Mariah cannot sing anymore. It clearly shows that her voice has limitations now but if she is in the right environment, she will sing like the angels are coming down from heaven like that impromptu.

Podcast gossip (59,565)
by Lee TS from USA
| |
|
|
So JD was on Hollywood Life podcast and was asked a Mariah question. Them being all about gossip asked about their relationship and Mariah's current state of voice. He was honest and told them a "I don't know" and doesn't pay attention to the media rumors, etc. That's how it was when he did WBT too, he didn't pay attention to whatever hoopla was going on with Mariah. What he did say that stood out was Mariah not to put out anymore music. He described it as your first experience with a drug, that first high you get. He doesn't know if people will receive her the same way again. While it's not something I want to hear and definitely something very disheartening, there's some truth to that. I was also pleasantly surprised by the host defending Mariah saying she's still young, she's doing things like Vegas, and the need to be creative. Also bringing Janet and Madonna into the mix. Then JD softens it saying Mariah may want to turn her focus on Demkids, and keeps emphasizing on Mariah's long career. Anyways, I really really hope Mariah can do one last slay. It's going to be hard but she has to fight for it. She's the only last standing diva who has somewhat of a chance. Like honestly, Madonna's Ghosttown and Janet's Burn It Up should've been big hits and they barely made a blip. And why is that? In my mind, this next record is super crucial and almost her last chance. I know that sounds terrible. Also, Perez Hilton suggested to LA Reid that Mariah should do an album of all Whitney songs, saying LA loved the idea. Whatever. I don't mind one cover song but can we not put Mariah in that category yet. I don't know what I'm saying really, but just one last slay Mariah. Then go on to be an actress or something. Then come back with another slay for nostalgia.

Hey UK Ian, did you have a chance to check out the rest of I.D.s channel yet? There isn't one bad performance on there. Ian Drews is the real deal and his covers of Mariah's songs are consistently the best I've ever heard: IDWC, Infinity, Hero etc. His transitions from head voice to falsetto are masterful. His range is so surprising in agility. So fluid, it reminds me of Mariah's Daydream era voice. It's all so effortlessly executed too. The runs are heavenly, so clean. He's also got a definite coolness to him that I like. I honestly can't believe this kid is still an unknown, unsigned talent. But then, so was Mariah for a long time while Brenda K Starr had the record deal. In that way, it's only a matter of time before he is. I don't know but I really really hope I'm right.

I dont know if this has been posted yet, but I ran into this remix of TMB. I was never really into TMB, I thought it was a cutesy song, but a throwaway #1. I love how they used the same sample that Crybaby did. It gives the song new life. The bass gives it a bounce.

MC's Top 5 most watched videos on YouTube (59,559)

#1 "All I Want For Christmas Is You" - With over 172 billion views, wow. Even if you're not a Mariah fan, you most likely love to hear this song at Christmas time. #2 "We Belong Together" - 154 billion views. One of her best love songs, if not the best love song she ever wrote. This one is still my favorite MC number one hit. #3 "Touch My Body" - 100 billion views. Probably her most sexiest videos ever, and very funny and entertaining at the same time. "Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah." #4 "Hero" - Soon to have 100 billion views. Again if you are not really a Mariah fan, most likely, you like this song. The genius behind this song is so high off the charts. It is very powerful. #5 "Angels Cry" ft. NeYo - Over 73 billion views. This one is a little surprising to me, but it's a beautiful song none the less.

I didn't see her not know Adele's latest music a diss. Whenever she is working on music she shuts off all other music from the world. Which made me excited. She said the same thing on the Breakfast Club Interview when she didn't know the "surfboard" term on Beyonce's Drunk In Love. "I love Beyonce but I haven't heard it, I"ve been busy working on my own music." They all laughed and said only Mariah could say that. I remember her saying that when she was working on TEOM she stopped listening to the radio. I'm to hear that she is working on new music. I don't know why everyone is surprised for her love for Rihanna. Mariah is usually supportive of younger artists (as long as they are not ripping her off).

Breakfast Express interview (59,556)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

I was so happy when I heard Mariah say "I haven't had time to do anything, but work on my own music right now." Then she complemented Adele and said she was "fantastic". Honestly I personally have not heard any of Adele's new music either. I don't listen to the radio. Whatever music I choose to listen to, I search it out myself on YouTube or other places, so I can totally understand where Mariah is coming from. I love how she kept saying over and over "We love everybody." She is showing us that she is not trying to throw shade to anyone, that is really admirable. I loved this interview, she sounds happy and really down to earth.
