1 minute with Mariah (61,727) by Giovanni from USA
Can Mariah at least make it 5 minutes, geez.

Re: Beyonce (61,722) (61,726) by Giovanni from USA
I doubt it. And she won't even get 1/3 of Adele's numbers nor a number one song. It's been days later and "Lemonade" has already been forgotten.

Re: Beyonce (61,724) (61,725) by RibbonB from USA
They are both about strained relationships. But where Bey and Jay kept theirs private and worked out whatever issues and crafted a masterpiece, Mariah and Nick both publicly alluded to marital issues. I have always felt that Mariah's big mistake was rolling out Miamtec, before having a resolution. We're shown a haphazard release, and Mariah jumped back into the public to perform as the damsel in distress. Now we are getting the damsel being saved by her white knight in shining armor, with the wicked stepmanager. I don't see this tale ending well. The Beyonce difference, if based on true events or inspired by them, is her project ring more cohesive and authentic. Maybe because she did the self reflection privately and then birthed a project. I hope Mariah has done some self reflecting and not just snap rebounding.

The albums are very similar. Scandcastles sounds like TAOLG. The themes are also similar.

Eric is correct. Whitney and Mariah shared top billing. Whitney was given top billing in the States while Mariah was given top billing internationally per MTV's 1998 report of their duet.

Dahlin' unfortunately Beyonce's "Lemonade" is gearing up to take the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for it's debut. This will make Beyonce the only artist to have 6 consecutive #1 album debuts. It's unfortunate because this album is going to #1 just on hype alone. The songs are not my favorite. I just liked 3 songs in total. What makes it worse is MIAM was somewhat in the same line as this album (cheating and then finding confidence in yourself) but made no impact.

Re: Bey and MC (61,715) (61,721) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes, but this case is different for 2 reasons:
(1) This time it wasn't just a random staff member or bystander who made the statement, it was supposedly Diane Martel herself, a well known director. Someone whom both Beyonce and Mariah would trust to keep a secret (if this is supposed to be a secret project).
(2) The announcement was not taken down. Yes the original "special project" announcement has been replaced by a "stay tuned beyhive and lambs" caption. Plus this person is going around liking other instagram accounts that shared the original photo and then the person started following official accounts of "Zayn, Vanessa Hudgens and 20 other people". All these are making me doubt the account's authenticity. Yes a selfish part of me still wants this to be true, but this is a little suspicious.
What I am thinking is that this perpetrator is very clever to use the identity of someone both Mariah and Beyonce worked with. But hey I'll be super glad if I am wrong and this is actually happening because I am so ready for a Beyonce collaboration.

Didn't know that. My copy says Whitney and Mariah. Thanks.

Somebody else correct this guy as to the facts of the name ordering? Or post a link to a simple google search? I'm too busy googling the top secret AIDS charity donations Mariah has apparently made.

Re: Beyonce (61,706) (61,718) by Giovanni from USA
No, in my opinion "Dangerously in love" is still her best album. "Lemonade" is a solid effort but it won't have any impact or top Billboard. I will never consider Beyonce a legend because she's done nothing in her music or career that would deem her a legend. She hasn't exactly big extremely successful as Mariah or even Adele. She has no huge, legendary memorable songs. I'm not trying to put her down, I'm just making a point. I want to know where is her "Ain't no mountain high enough", "I knew you were waiting (for me)", "If only you knew", "I'll never love this way again", "Ain't nobody", "I will always love you", "The best", "Vision of love", "My heart will go on". All the divas have that one huge hit song that they are remembered by.

Not true. Almost every international single says "Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston", only the American singles say most of the time "Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey".

Re: Mariah's epic performance (61,710) (61,716) by B from USA
Mariah Carey and Beyonce. Mariah ceded top billing to Whitney out of respect and Bey will do the same.

Remember when someone on the set of the #Beautiful video posted about working Mariah and Miguel and it was just as quickly taken down.

Isn't Beyonce on her "Formation" world tour now? Would she really have time to make an appearance?

Yes, that's also what I'm thinking about. That "trust me, you don't want to miss it" part of her post about Essence Fest is tricky.

Bey and MC (61,711) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am starting to feel like someone is playing with the lambs and Beyhive. I followed Diane's instagram account. And there is just one picture there. The previous pictures she uploaded (ex the "something special" one and the "#Twisted" one) has been removed. She re-uploaded the Mariah-Beyonce picture and captioned it "stay tuned". I don't get why she will delete the previous pictures. This is the only post on her account at the moment. I also am thinking if this was indeed happening and is supposed to be a secret, why would Diane (if that's really her) spill the beans? Plus Diane had like just 750 instagram followers (which is basically nothing for a celebrity) and now after making such claims she has 1200. This account might actually just be a fake and we must have been duped once again.

Re: Mariah's epic performance (61,703) (61,710) by Andrew from UK
One would think that if Beyoncé is walking out onto Mariah's performance, then Mariah would be the one starting the song. Hopefully, anyway. But then, how would it be styled? Mariah Carey feat. Beyoncé? That would be strange if it's on Beyoncé's Lemonade (Deluxe). Beyoncé feat. Mariah Carey? Not sure I fancy Mariah as a guest artist for Beyoncé. So, Mariah Carey & Beyoncé, or, Beyoncé & Mariah Carey? Well, that's the Whitney problem, all over again. I honestly don't know why these things matter to me so much. But they really, really do.

I'm really not a fan of Lemonade. I really try hard to like the album, but I just can't seem to get into it.

On the subject of image (61,708) by Andrew from UK
Hey, Anthony, I liked your post, it's well put. To be honest, Mariah can behave how she wants to behave, we all can. It's her image to play with. My breast boob comment was only meant to highlight the fact that Mariah can't possibly crave the "respect" people say she does (or used to) as people who behave like that don't get much respect. To do so would make little sense. Sometimes I think that Mariah doesn't understand that what she considers sexually appealing about her behaviour, or even funny (the affected British accent, rehearsed lines about being eternally 12), is actually often the source of mockery for Joe Public and the reason why he doesn't like her. So when some fans decry the fact that Mariah is taken far less seriously than she used to be, it's obvious that the general public don't particularly identify with her, or even like her, anymore. Image is everything. I think someone posted here recently about trying to make someone listen to Petals, and being told by said someone that they wouldn't take the music seriously because of the album's artwork. Essentially, if you want the public to take your music seriously, they have to take you and your image seriously, or they won't even bother with you. And if you don't take your image seriously, yourself, just go with it, put on "nostalgia" shows so everyone can relive the good ol' days for a night, but don't complain that nobody is buying your new material.

I understand what you mean but who are you or who am I to define what makes someone feel good about themselves? If they think they look hot and fire then cool. You know what I mean?

Re: Beyonce (61,701) (61,706) by darrian liu from taiwan
I thought Beyonce's first 3 albums were kinda weak (save for singles like Crazy In Love) compared even to "4" (which is technically her flop album). Her self-titled album was her second strongest album and her latest album, Lemonade is full of wonders (her best to date). I mean the album's amazing. And I thought her image up to the release of "Beyoncé" was too airbrushed, too perfect. I love her even more now that she's more fearless to express what she wants to say and how she wants her music to sound like (first 3 albums are kinda formulaic, "4" was when she started to screw radio-friendly formulas) and her new songs are so raw and sublime and fresh imo. I truly feel like she's gonna be a legend. Now, let's go back to Mariah.

I can't breathe seriously. I mean with the hashtags? It's almost obvious that Mimi and Yonce are up to something.

My fingers has been crossed so much I think it's starting to break. But I would want a more "out-there" single, with Mimi and Yonce blending weird genre concoctions and awesome lyrics.

Mariah's epic performance (61,703) by Bill from the UK
I wonder if it will be the debut of the rumoured Beyonce duet. That would go down a storm if Beyonce walks out onto the stage to join Mariah.
