However I'm hoping the rumors about a Beyonce duet are false. I feel it would be desperate move from Mariah. Needing Beyonce for relevance or a hit. She doesn't need Beyonce. Beyonce's new song has flopped, and it seems the rest of her album will too. Her producers are writing terrible lyrics and giving her bad songs. So let Beyonce die out as soon as possible. Yes, I definitely agree the videos need to stop being so bad. Invest in a director that is going to have you play out a story, with some prompts, something big like the Honey video (it's really her best one). Although I don't agree that her rental a rapper formula as you call it is what is preventing her from getting another number 1. Can you image if Mariah came out with a song with Drake on the record and if it was really good, it would blow up. If she would have promoted YDKWTD with Wale it could have gone number 1. I like him on the song as I think he adds something to it but I don't like him in the intro, that should just be her. Here is a version without him. (Saturday 20 February 2016; 23:51)

The key to success (59,893) by Marquise from USA I know some goats say Mariah can't get a hit and blah blah anymore but if you look back at her recent lead singles, Obsessed peaked at #7. It could've reached #1 probably, but I believe she only performed the song twice (Lopez Tonight and Americans Got Talent) which was the downfall of that song lack of promo for it. Next was the lovely #Beautiful which was a refreshing sound for her more people wanted her to keep going in that direction musically and what not, but anyways the song was doing well they signed a clear water deal to have it played at the top of the hour all day on the top 40 radio stations. That helped it get to the young audience and people started buying the single and it got rave reviews. I remember reading an article from Billboard about #Beautiful possibly debuting at #1 from the high percentage of downloads and airplay it was getting but all of it didn't count altogether because of the cut of day so half of it went towards another week which messed the charting up, but Mariah had a hit on her hand and I believe the reason it didn't go #1 or get into the top 5 was because of the string of "bad" performances of the song plagued by constant lip syncing allegations which created a dark cloud over the promo and killed the song off. So for her next single she has to bring her A game like she did when she performed "Infinity/VOL" and promote the song heavily with interviews and live performances and a big radio deal and great music video like TMB, WBT, It's lLke That etc. (Saturday 20 February 2016; 23:44)

They obviously use statistics to make an estimate. It doesn't matter what Rihanna used to get the #1, at the end of the day, she may end up getting it. Mariah also has opportunity to get a #1 in any way she wants, but if she chooses not to take advantage of those, well it's on her really. (Saturday 20 February 2016; 17:22)

Not a good look (59,887) by Ian from United Kingdom I don't think we can say Rihanna is getting number one singles because Chris Brown beat her up years ago and people feel sorry for her. She is current, appeals to kids, teens and young adults and has a great image with videos to match and unfortunately Mariah has none of these qualities anymore. I am sure teenagers see Mariah as too old for them, the styling has been so over the top and old fashioned for years and it doesn't matter how many rappers she employs on every track, she needs some current radio friendly tracks with videos people will want to view more than once. We all know she is more than capable and unfortunately Mariah is at this stage in her career has to work a lot harder than Rihanna, Taylor or Beyonce to be taken seriously. They way Mariah and L.A Reid were talking about her #1's and not overtaking The Beatles last year made me think they had a plan in motion. I could be wrong but she's obviously not finished yet because she's making music, and knowing Mariah I think getting passed The Beatles may just be one of her final goals musically. It won't be easy but TEOM wouldn't have been easy either when everyone was writing her off. When she's in a good place her music touches people and when it does people buy it. Not a good look (59,884) by George Golden from UK So according to Billboard Rihanna will go to number one. I can't believe this is happening. She is catching up real fast. I don't care what anybody says here, it won't be good if Rihanna surpasses Mariah. They are so going to rub it in her face and I think that is the plan. Not a good look. It's just strange that someone like Rihanna would surpass Mariah. Radio eats up anything she releases without any promotion. It's funny how she was a good artist with catchy songs but after her domestic abuse she was put on a sympathy train where she could do no wrong. Now anything she releases goes to number one. Chris Brown hasn't had a number since then. Lol. After TMB Mariah just relaxed and became comfortable and started releasing whatever she liked. Putting out the wrong single over and over again. Same formular, same rent a rapper records, same cringy videos. It has all been a mess. Now look at what is happening now. The last time Mariah had a number one single Rihanna only had only one. Some I prefer over the originals while others I love for being just as good with a different composition. 1. Thank God I Found You/Make It Last-Feat Nas - The original was nice, but not noteworthy. This was around the time Mariah was making ballads that leaned more towards pop and less soul. When I heard this remix play for the first time on the hiphop/r&b station, I freaked out because it really captured Mariah's musical essence at the time. Her voice sounds so good on this track, the way she kept transitioning in vocal styles throughout the song. One of the best gems in her discography. 2. I Know What You Want - This song made her hot again in the States. Her and Busta singing back and forth. She looked great in the video and the look was unique (no gowns lol). Every girl in the club at the time used to sing the bridge along with her when this song came on. It hit #3 on the Hot 100. 3. I Still Believe/Pure Imagination featuring Da Brat and Krazie Bone - This remix takes you to a cloudy, heady, dreamworld. The backgrounds, Lazy Bone's harmonies, Da Brat's diss to Derek and Motolla (even if my label drops me, I'ma still sell copies). This was Mariah's creative peak in regards to remixes. Now it's to the point where I can take for granted that she will sound great in any recent clip that I click on. No more constant anxiety about the state of her voice. I'm feeling grateful. Lost track of how many times I have played it, sometimes I just let it repeat, it's so sensually moody and I love it so much. 3. As much as I adore "Fantasy" with O.D.B and Heartbreaker with Jay Z, I am torn between Underneath The Stars (Drifting Remix) and I Still Believe/Pure Imagination for third lol.
