Video (53,788) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Seriously, where on earth is the damn video? It's getting annoying. I mean it's been a month since "Infinity" was released. Is this a joke?

Baby / Pinoy Carey-oke (53,787) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
You're welcome, though I think my fellow Pinoy out here explained it better in a shorter way, haha. Anyways, no, it's not like every Filipino here is out belting some Mariah hit, but a lot enjoy just belting out, period - regardless of whose hits they are. I believe the most popular Carey-oke songs here are:
1) Hero (this is everywhere, like if you haven't heard this on the radio, which is impossible, you've probably heard it from your neighbor first)
2) Through The Rain (this is pretty much as huge as Hero here, and it's probably because we are suckers for inspirational sappy ballads)
3) Without You (a lot attempt and of course, fail to emulate Mariah's belting during the chorus - miserably)
4) Love Takes Time (this is better known here than Vision Of Love)
5) Always Be My Baby (probably the most uptempo song on this list, highlighting our overwhelming preference for ballads)
6) My All (most of those who try to sing this eventually end up either straining or lip-synching to the high parts)
7) All I Want For Christmas Is You (naturally)
8) Open Arms (just as known as the Journey version)
9) I Still Believe (another favorite)
10) Can't Take That Away (told you we love us some self-help songs)
11) Endless Love (as popular as the Ross-Richie duet)
12) Thank God I Found You (one of the more popular Mariah song choices for duets)
13) Never Too Far (yes, this is somewhat known thanks to its exposure as a contest piece in televised singing competitions)

Ardis (53,786) by Abraham from USA
I love "Me I am Mariah". It's still my album. "Cry" is classic, love it. "Faded" is okay, not a favorite but I let it play. "Dedicated" is a nice song it's nostalgic. "Beautiful" is amazing. In my opinion Mariah's best single and song so far. "Thirsty" is a cool, fun cut that's catchy. "Make it look good" is awesome. I can't stand "You're mine", sorry. "You don't know what to do" is brilliant. Could have been a hit. I don't like "Supernatural", though it's cute. "Meteorite" is so cool. "Camouflage" is beautiful. "Money" annoyed me at first but I like it now. "One more try" is a nice cover. And last but not least, "Heavenly". She does so well with gospel. The choir in the song is perfect. This is hands down one of her best albums. I hope she can make another great piece of work. I really want Mariah to work with Pharell. *fingers crossed*

Born to sing (53,785) by Mara from United States
Just watching some of those videos of Mariah singing TGIFY and the improv of It's Like That, just reminds me of how this young lady was born to sing and what a gift she was given. Literally she was gifted this voice. She can sing anything with a piano and it mesmerizes people. That is truly a gift. There is no one alive that can do that, no disrespect to some of the greats, but she has so much tone, so much richness. She hypnotized just by opening her mouth. She is at her best when she improvises with a piano. I unfortunately cannot make her Vegas shows in July, but hope she mixes up her songs at the Beacon this December. She is truly amazing. We are lucky to be blessed with a talent like MC. The Taylor Swifts of today do not hold a candle to the young legend that is Mariah Carey.

Andrew / very typical (53,784) by Marcus from Brazil
Andrew, you nailed it on your last post. No matter the facts, anything said about Mariah by people who at some point in time worked with her is a lie. Everybody has been bad to poor innocent miss goody-two-shoes Mariah. L.A. Reid, JD, Damizza, Nick, etc are bad for Mariah. As if Mariah were a little innocent girl who sits on a Barbie pedestal at night. And don't even imply Mariah had sex, she had those babies by divine conception. Mariah is this little 12 year old everybody likes to pick on. When she throw shades at some one, it is ok, she must have a valid reason. When they throw shade at her, she's a victim, and those shaders should be put to death. Most of the fans that kept some sort of balance on this board have gone away or are taking breaks, but one can definitely feel that MCArchives messageboard is not the same without them. Please guys come back, this is getting to "Mariah Daily" up in here.

Missed oppotunities from the past (53,783) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Re: Liz Archer from Sweden. "I don't get why her past albums haven't been more successful." In my opinion there have been a lot of missed opportunities. Mostly I believe it was due many reasons. Maybe it was the label and management not fully being in Mariah's corner, or just not being motivated enough. Maybe Mariah wasn't motivated and had other personal things going on at the time. When "MOAIA" came out I thought for sure "Candy Bling" would have been a huge single. I still play that song and love it so much. Great potential was there for a hot video and all that jazz. Then go back to "E=MC2" many good songs on there too, not to bring up "Migrate" again, but that song could have been huge, if given the same attention that she has been getting recently. Whatever it was, it's all in the past now. I just try to enjoy every moment and right now things for MC are looking pretty good.

"One More Try" (53,782) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I was listening to "Me, I am Mariah" today and when I heard this song again, I just had to post about it. Originally recorded by the amazing George Michael, I remember hearing this song as young kid in the 80's. At the time I thought the song was ok, but I preferred some of his other songs instead. When I heard Mariah's version of it for the first time, it was like a whole new experience. She had me loving this song and singing it all day long in my head. Doing a cover of someone else's record is a big challenge that I think M has mastered. She is truly amazing.

Troof (53,781) by Andrew from UK
Bit typical of this board to annihilate someone because an article claimed someone was less than complimentary about Mariah. Never mind facts or "the truth". Bit like the continuous annihilation of Nick Cannon, despite Mariah never having said anything negative, and the need to try to find "shade" in her songs, about him. On a lighter note, I saw a Mariah Carey CD in a supermarket here today. For sale. For actual money. Hasn't happened since 2008. Kinda cool. She simply needs a killer Pop/Dance track a la Fantasy/Heartbreaker with a video a week later and an album a week after that covered with furious promo and she might pull it off. But what do I or the general populous know? The video for Infinity is awesome, I'm sure. I'm not sure why they bothered filming one, at this point. And what of doing Vegas again next year in the same guise? Who is going to care? I think LA Reid was right about expectancy of Mariah's career. But I think Mariah fans deserve some truth about what they can expect from her future endeavours.

Sarah and the tea (53,780) by Kate from UK
You're spot on about the tea. When people say, "the tea was spilt and it was scalding" the scalding nature of the tea is due to the harsh truth and perhaps leads to a burn. I think "everything you own boy you still owe" is a prime example.

Her recent past songs (53,779) by Liz Archer from Sweden
I don't get why her past albums haven't been more successful? I mean there have been good songs in those albums, like Angels Cry, Bye Bye, I Stay In Love, I Want To Know What Love Is and many other songs, etc. Watching these videos they are actually quite nice. Why haven't they been higher in the charts?

Re: How much was Damizza paid? (53,773) by Baby from Sweden (53,778) by HeatSeek from
Only the gullible will believe that article. The whole thing was a ramble and it wasn't even written well. The person who wrote it may call themselves a journalist. However I'll refer to them as a hack, not a very good one at that either. They need to learn how to cross check facts too, because in what world did he introduce Mariah to Jay Z? Please one false fact and that means the whole article has lost integrity. As mentioned before, timelines mentioned in the article do not add up. Yes, Baby. I absolutely agree with you that there is definitely attempts at cock blocking going on and basically everything else you said too. Discernment in this day and age is a rare gift. Good to see there is someone else on this board who can see the bigger picture and understand that a game of chess is being played here. Hahahah, glad you like the pseudonym.

Bsby (53,777) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Your comment made me giggle because Canada isn't exactly Lamb central either. I have never met other people in my area who consider themselves lambs (unless it has been online) but, since 1990 I have had several friends become fans. Perhaps my influence or MC collection rubbed off on them.

"Duets album" concept idea (53,776) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Seeing M with Olivia was very cool. I wish M would do an album of duets with some of the best singers in the world. We discussed a M and Celine duet the other day would be stunning. I would love to see duets with Olivia and maybe Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, Celine, Gloria Estephan, Shakira, Shania Twain, or Sade. It would also be great if the two could write the new song together instead of doing something we have already heard. It would probably take a long time, but in the end I'm sure it would be worth the wait. Who knows might get a new #1 hit for both parties involved.

Olivia Newton-John (53,775) by Gloria from Hong Kong
I don't know they remain friends after the Australian show back in the 90s but it's good to see Mariah hanging out with female singers (not rappers). Maybe a second collaboration will do even better. Plus, I can't remember the last time Mariah shared her stage with a female vocal. That one with Whitney is my all-time favourite. By the way, Daily Mail sends really confusing messages about MC. The recent interview is one of the best I've ever seen, yet their reports were consistently harsh on MC. If I'm not mistaken, MC has a reputation among Aussie fans. She got great reviews and sales there, right? The media people are like sharks, once they smell blood, they will bite and tear every bit of flesh, and there is no stopping. Quoting the news, "The diva has just started her #1 To Infinity residency in Caesars Palace, featuring all of the singer's eighteen US No. 1 hits. But whether she will be able to manage the demanding show up to her final date in February 2016 remains to be seen." What? The first leg didn't count? P.S. You may read the article here.

Bubble (53,774) by Musti from UK
I must say I don't find Damizza's words unbelievable (minus the love affair). Particularly the bubble issue is only natural for a global megastar like Mariah. Even then, Mariah has always maintained a true connection to her fans. Perhaps it's this real love and appreciation for her coming from real people that keeps her grounded. After all, pretty much everyone else far below her status which she has befriended over the years (e.g. Damizza, Nick, Kelly Price) has tried to backstab her. How is she supposed to have a "real conversation" with anyone? The only other people who were worthy of her trust are huge celebrities going through similar hardships as her (e.g. Whitney, MJ, Mary J). All things considered, Mariah has done extremely well over the years despite her bubble. She is an excellent songwriter, a very intelligent business woman and has a very engaging sense of humour. You can hardly be any of those if you're completely detached from reality. I pity Damizza for the way he has chosen to reconnect with Mariah, if that's truly what he was trying to do. Now the only connection he will ever have to her is his unrequited love for her.

Re: How much was Damizza paid? (53,737) by HeatSeek (53,773) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
And who's paying/incentivising him? Surely he doesn't think he has a chance in all the seven hells to get back in to the fold. I feel like the whole thing is a setup and unfortunately any number of fingerprints could be on this, or it could even be a "group effort" so to speak. Next thing you know he's been hired to produce some no-talent goat herder. Otherwise, he could just sue them for slander and defamation or whatever, if he was somehow "misled"? Like stand in your shit every once in a while. Somehow I doubt he will sue though. Meanwhile, Mariah is laying in a litter of fanmail but we are to believe a former confidant/bff/loverboy of her's couldn't get a message through to her if he really needed to? No, he had to relay whatever "misquoted" messages he needed telegrammed all over these e-streets to a known tabloid. Oh, okay, that makes a lot of sense. All this is basically cockblocking tbh. Also, I greatly enjoy your pseudonym.

Re: Damizza by B (53,772) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
"Poor man he's obsessed. Mariah leaves them stressed. I don't believe they were intimate. They were friends. His timelines don't even match up. Fool. I hope Mariah throws some epic shade his way." B, I read the manuscript of the never-will-be-prospect whenever it came out and it was mired in innuendo. The truth shouldn't be that convoluted an affair. I mean, does he even like the water? Another day another clown. We've all seen how personable M can be, I'm sure a lot of guys read more into her playful nature than they really have a right to. Just like how flirty she was with Michael Strahan when I doubt very much she's even remotely into him at all. But beyond the apparent attention whoring meets smear campaign, am I the only one who sees this as a way to sabotage Mariah's chances of attracting a good calibre male? In the urban dictionary I think the term is better put: "cockblocking". It's very cruel.

Re: Pinoys and karaoke (53,721) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines (53,771) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Wow. That was a better answer than my question tbh. Thank you so much for being so thorough yet entertaining. Much appreciated. I wonder if even Mariah knows this about one of her strongest Lamb-bases and why she is so popular there. Super interesting read and I'm a bit jealous because Sweden is not exactly Lamb central. People here don't really "Stan" for anyone no matter how popular they get. It's literally an unwritten Norse Law. I wonder what is like to be in a country brimming over with lambs all-a-singing-Careyoke-24/7? *mind blown*

Tea (53,770) by Sarah from Netherlands
Nope. Tea is after you serve somebody with cold hard facts, usually something that they're in denial about. But since it's got nothing to do directly with you, you don't really wanna get involved too much. That's why the full line is "Ain't none of my business, it's tea though." In another context it can mean gossip, but not in Mariah's song.

So what's next? / Liz (53,767) by Lara from Middle East
Now that the first leg of her residency is over, I think now is the time to drop the new video and promote it. Maybe this is why her team waited that much, not to mention Taylor Swift video could've shadowed hers if it was released earlier. Liz I agree if that article is true (partially probably) it's scary. Although I think a lot changed since then, especially now Mariah has her twins. Still, I think part of that bubble exists and the article about her Disneyland outing is a sign of it. Now come on, where's the video?

Damizza (53,764) by Marissa from USA
I'm extremely late to the party about this Damizza story, but I still want to chime in. In a way I wish he went the nasty route because it would have been easier to write him off as a hater. It's these idiots that try to pretend to be the good guy calling out for MC to get help that I can't stand. He's a "gentleman" but revealed that they were intimate (which I do not at all believe)? You don't have to state what sex positions you were in to kiss and tell. Saying that you were intimate is bad enough, especially when you know MC prides herself on being prudish in that way. Has he not been watching her career lately? She's making a turnaround. This isn't the MIAM era anymore. She doesn't need an intervention. Chill. Also, although everyone gives Mariah flack about it, every celebrity is sheltered and removed from reality. Some are just better at projecting a "real" image to the world, but they are still surrounded by bodyguards, assistants, suck-ups, etc. All I can say is Heartbreaker should have been written about (caps) Mariah rather than from her perspective. She has these dudes sprung and they can never move on.
