MIAM (47,968)

I think that Mariah should have replaced "You're mine" and "Money". "You're mine" is Mariah's weakest song, compared to "We belong together", "Don't forget about us" and "I stay in love". I just think it doesn't fit on the album. It should have been replaced with "The art of letting go". And "Money" annoys me. But hey, it's just me. It's still my one of my favorite albums. And one of Mariah's best. Now, I could definitely have the next. I will be so happy if "Don't explain" and "Lullaby of birdland" were recorded in the studio and put on.

Comeback no. 2 plus hello (47,967)
by Luke from United Kingdom

Hey I'm new and only recently found this website and I love it. I've loved Mariah all my life but have only really have started following her in the last 2 years. This maybe wishful thinking but looking at this tour and MIAMTEC, does anyone get the idea that Mariah kinda wants to move on from this album because the majority of it is probably related to Nick? I also feel that this looks a lot like what she was doing with the Charmbracelet tour and album. Critics and a lot of fans were pretty sure she'd had her time back then and assumed there was nothing left for her but she went on tour, built up publicity, sang live (and well for most of it) and then a year and a half later came back with a vengeance in 2005. Does anyone else think she's got something up her sleeve planned for next year (possibly late 2015)?

From what I could hear, in the beginning of "Faded", she whispers, "It was overcast that day, I was feeling kinda way" almost as if she's writing the lyrics as she's whispering them to herself. In the beginning of "YME", she whispers, "I can't seem to give you up, you're mine." That's just what I heard though.

She's just murmuring the lyrics as she is writing them down. For "Faded" it's just "It was overcast that, and I was feeling some kind of way" whilst for "You're Mine" it's just "I can't seem to give you up, you're mine". As for "Money" I thought she said "I can't leave it like that", which makes me think that she may have originally ended the album on "Camouflage" before recording new songs post-shoulder injury.

Hey there, welcome to the board. I just wanted to clear out the things Mariah whispers in the beginning of a couple of songs for you. Before Money starts, she says "I can't leave it like that", which I assume is referring to the fact that Money was a last minute addition to the album. Mariah already had an album ready, but at the end she added 4 new songs to the album. Money was probably the last to be recorded. So she probably means that she decided she couldn't leave the album like it was (when it was titled TAOLG) and so she added Money. Before Faded she just keeps writing and reading the first two lines of the song "It was overcast that day, I was feeling some kind of way". Before YME, she just says "You're mine", and it echoes. I hope that clears it up. I think when Mariah said she wants the album to be heard as a body of work, she meant that she wants the fans to go through the songs as a journey, which reflects her life in the past 4 years. The joy, the love, the sadness, the anger and the shade.

Whispering words on MIAMTEC (47,962)
by Matteo from Italy
| |
|
|
Hi lambs. This is my first message. I read this site for years and I have always wanted to write something so here I am. Sorry if I make any mistakes but English is not my first language so I'm doing the best with what I have got. I have one question, I don't know if this has been already discussed on this message board but have you noticed that on the very very beginning of certain songs of MIAMTEC Mariah whispers something? (You have to turn the music really loud to hear this.) Mariah said that she wanted the album to be heard as a full body of work so I don't know if these are hidden messages. I know for sure that at the beginning of Money she says "I can't live like that". Also she whispers something in the beginning of Faded and You're Mine (Eternal) but I haven't figured it out what she says. Also in the deluxe edition at the beginning of It's A Wrap she says "Now for the deluxe" but I don't think that this can be considered as a hidden message. What do you think lambs? Am I the only one who have noticed that?

Baby, baby, one more time (47,961)
by Marcus from Brazil

Now Nick's out there to get Mariah. He married her just to use her. He creates fakes accounts to put out rumours about her. He damaged her career. Baby, you're either the best private long distance investigator or borderline paranoid. You're really underestimating and at the same time insulting Mariah's intelligence. I guess you think Mariah's is a mentally handicapped 12 years old who just happens to write beautiful lyrics. Maybe Nick put something in Mariah's tea so she couldn't sing well the first few shows of her tour. I hope you don't go through your very own e-glitter moment. Mariah is a very strong, intelligent, independent woman. She's looking relaxed and happy, and most likely talks to the "monster" everyday. The only thing we know for sure is that Nick wasn't ever there, the rest is pure speculation.

I think it's time for the Lambiy to come together and stream it like it's part of their religion like other fanbases do when their favorite's have a video that is getting close to 100 million. It would probably take a long time but they're the closest at this point and Mariah deserves more than just 1 Vevo certification.

Adam and the thirsty one (47,958)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

Calling Thirsty out on his ish is hardly bashing him. The only reason I even care enough about what he has to say is because he habitually makes Mariah look bad all the while proclaiming his undying love for her. He's the consumate poster child for passive aggressive behaviour. The way he gleefully talks about Mariah like she's just another notch on his belt. Not even Eminem at his most delusional can top the soundbites Thirsty has made part of YouTube canon. He's the real slim shady. He also uses other people as proxies to cast doubt on Mariah as a parent. Why? Maybe that doesn't bother you but I'm not here for that and never will be. So you're wasting your time if you think I care what someone who stans for Tommy and Walter wants me to post about. I love how you think the only reference to Thirsty on MIAMTEC is thirsty. What about Cry, Faded, Money, MILG, Camouflage, OMT, BGK, IAW? In fact I'd venture to say the only songs not inspired, even tangentially, by Thirsty are #Beautiful and Dedicated. But whatever makes you sleep at night I guess.

Mariah's show (Nikki) (47,956)
by TS from United States
| |
|
|
That is exactly the type of thing she should do. It would be up to her to decide what actions to take with certain singers/songwriters, which is exactly what her ill-fated American Idol experience did not provide. Also, I think if all went successful with it, she may be well received if she actually gets the people record-deal ready and out into the market that most of the current shows (I'm looking at Idol and The Voice) haven't done for simply ages. No shade to anyone's favorite winners to said shows, just trying to shed light on the situation.

MC Emotions in New Z. (47,955)
by nikki from usa
| |
|
|
As far as celebs go, MC is truly elusive. She's a recluse even during her prime she stayed at home. She's still not out and about unless she's promoting something. Mariah is the hermit diva. I would like to see her in the limelight more often, but is it the real reason that she's uncomfortable with it? I don't know why she doesn't have her own label at this point. It would save her a lot of hassles and she could efficiently promote her own albums. The invent of the internet would give her so much opportunity to distribute. I also think she should have her own show where she can mentor singer hopefuls and the point of the show is to earn (not win) a record deal. Focus on the journey rather than a contestant show. She can teach them how to sing and be a superstar. Mariah could help them to get over stage fright by making them bungee jump or something. It could be comical and entertaining. It would feature everything Mariah: actual talent, no judging, mentoring, and her life experience, while she shamelessly promotes her own music. I'd watch it.

Fans bashing on Nick Cannon (47,952)
by ADAM from USA
| |
|
|
I would agree with some of the fans on here that fans should not take to bashing Nick Cannon because MC is getting divorced. Both of them are adults and made the decision to get married and have children. Mission accomplished. Half of all marriages end in divorce and these 2 people were no different. Why must some fans destroys this guys image because they are no longer married? He's obviously not a monster if MC married him and eventually made him her baby's father. Please fans calm down and focus inward on your own lives. Life is hard enough as it is. Stop spreading the negativity and let these two entertainers move on in their personal and professional lives. At the end of the day, he will always be in her life because of the children they created and they need to get along and not resort to destroying each other's image, otherwise their children will inherit their mother's insecurities and view Nick as a bad father. So IMO, Mariah needs to keep quiet and let "Thristy" be the only public record of her feelings about Nick.

Whatever it's not about Nick then (47,951)
by Reuben Walton from United States
| |
|
|
Fine then it's not about Nick. I just think the rest of E=MC2 and MOAIA (other than Obsessed) could've been promoted/handled better. The whole thing with L.A. Reid not cooperating or whatever BS he was up to and the fact that MC fell so hard for Nick (of her own choice) as to virtually abandon promo for E=MC2. I know she gave so much of herself already in her career but whatever it's just my opinion, it could've done well to sustain her then one-album-deep comeback to at the very least just choose the right singles (whether it was her or others choosing them) like Migrate etc. where some of those songs would've kind of sold themselves if put before the public and pushed to radio with a halfway decent promo campaign. The Jump Smokers mix of Betcha Gon' Know could've also been a successful single.

Re: Baby / Sweden (47,950)

First, you got a part confused. I was saying Mariah knew she could help Nick's career, not the other way around. Where did I get the idea that Mariah wanted someone to take care of and help? Mariah. She was the one in bed with him at the hospital feeding him. She hired him to direct her videos. Mariah's always described herself as the "caretaker" or "nurturer". In Cribs, Mariah described herself as a 'homemaker'. Women like that like to be needed. She's family oriented therefore she's a nurturer. Nick went on Big Boi before her birthday, but I think you're not noticing what an airhead he is. He'll brag about anything like a teenage boy. I think he has a massive ego and anyone dissing her, is still dissing him, because that's the mom he chose for his children. Nick goes through women and doesn't take breaks. No, I don't see him "studying" Mariah. Nick's father is a minister, he's always described himself as "a big kid", and does weird dress up. I can see why they fell for each other. You're right, his women are more successful than him, he has a thing for strong women. I don't think he really knows what love is, but is easily infatuated. In the future, I think he'll still gloat he was married to Mariah Carey and the fact she's the mother of his children.

Nick the player / next album (47,949)
by Abraham from USA
| |
|
|
Why are there postings about Nick? Of all people. The dude's been irrelevant ever since the split. Once a player, always a player. He got tired of Mariah and cheated. However, he isn't to blame for her career. Mariah could have still be on top and made great music like "TEOM". But she chose a different direction with "MOAIA", which to me, is her worst album, though I like "It's a wrap". But the album, no. Mariah did what she wanted to do. She could have gotten the best producers, but choose rappers. "MIAM" is a completely different album. One that I love, as I've stated many times. The reason Mariah's career went down wasn't because of Nick, it was because of her music. This album was a good start and return of the Mariah Carey I like. So I'm hoping the next is as good, or better, which I think it is. It's going to be a new beginning and chapter in Mariah's life. Musically, and a fresh start with someone new. She needs to bring it with a new single. And even if the first doesn't get anyone's attention then hopefully the second one will. I'm hoping everything will be perfect with the next album. Good title, album cover, music, videos, promotion. Many people hate on Mariah because of her success and talent, which is stupid. Also, people should know that the whole "diva" thing is all an act. And even if it wasn't, who cares? She's work her butt off. She deserves to act like one. Now that she's finished with the tour, we can look forward to the Christmas shows. I hope her voice sounds amazing.

Reuben Walton / Nick / always remember (47,948)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I'm not a fan of Nick, he is childish and has diarrhea of the mouth, but does that mean he is a horrible monster? If we're going to start the blaming game, isn't he the man Mariah chose? She was a grown ass 38 year old woman when she married him after having dated for such a short period of time. They were happy, you had to be blind not to see how happy they were. It takes two to dance the tango, and I'm pretty sure Nick wasn't dancing it with a ghost. While Mariah has lyrically taken her shots at him, Nick has come forward and spoken highly of her when the media was labeling her as an unstable mother and a controlling bitch. Demonizing Nick as if Mariah was this helpless woman in shackles tied to her bed, being abused and tossed around by this horrible man, is ridiculous. Mariah stopped being Mary Poppins in 1997. Reuben Walton, isn't it ironic that the album (Memoirs) you love so much was much inspired by Nick? She released a wonderful Christmas album, and she had dem babies. I'm pretty sure Mariah doesn't regret one moment of it.

Although she started a bit rough that has yielded not so good reviews, she silenced all her bashers and concluded the concert tour with a bang by giving great vocal performances from the middle till the end of the tour. Hopefully, IDJ will release a DVD like TAOM with all her great performances of the tracks she performed including the medley of those songs she rarely performs. Then it will be good if it will coincide with the re-release of MIAMTEC album with a few new tracks, which if they will do, would be better to release on Christmas day or a week before that with some promo singles, video and also in time for her Christmas mini-concert in NY.

virgo. miss thanks for posting this review, I wish it would go around the world just as the Tokyo videos did but I don't think that will happen. Concerning Mariah publishing bad news seems to be more interesting than any good news, always has been like that, always will be. At least Mariah has proven us, her fans, that the voice is still there, I'm gratefull for that. And about Mariah following trends? I hope she will stay true to herself and will not get lost in a desperate hunt for chart-success. She has nothing to prove anymore and I wouldn't mind her having a career on a lower level from now on. To me it's most important that she feels happy in whatever she does and whatever music she makes. After Don't Explain and Lullaby I would't mind more jazzy songs or even a jazz album but MIAMTEC part 2 would be great to, we'll have to wait and see.

Last concert of the tour (47,942)
by virgo.miss from australia

We went along to the A Day On The Green concert yesterday. It's an outdoor thing in a winery. We were right at the back because we opted for tickets in the private bar area rather than use the portaloos. Anyway, she really was fantastic. The sound was so good it you would almost think it was all lipped, but everytime she spoke she'd sing in this perfect voice just so everyone knew it was real. I went to the Gold Coast show on 1/1/13 and whilst she sounded good, she was 90 minutes late, only did 12 songs max and spent half the time changing frock. This time she was almost dead on time, did at least 20 songs and whilst she did change twice both times she was off less than 5 minutes. Last time was a bit of a shambles, this time, whilst simple, it was tight and professional. I can think of one obvious thing thats changed in Mariahs life in that time and I reckon it's for the best. Anyway, here is the review in our paper.
