Wrong translation / Webmaster (45,941) by MimiLamb from Germany
Yes that too. I just don't know which parts of this interview is really from Mariah or copied of an Beyonce interview. Because these are big mistakes made.

Re: wrong translation (45,940) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
And what about: "Carey's 14th studio album, 'Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse', which was released in May this year, sold more than 828,000 in the first three days and broke a new record as the fastest-selling album in the history of iTunes."

Wrong translation (45,939) by MimiLamb from Germany
"It was a big part of challenge. I was recording, shooting videos and performing on the tour every night, all at the same time. At some point I felt like, 'What am I doing? Is this too ambitious?' Even the day the record was to be released I was scared to death. But I also knew if I was that scared, something big was about to happen." This is the part what I was reffering to and is from a Beyonce interview.

Mariah and Nick (45,938) by MimiLamb from Germany
It's kind off obvious that they are going through a rough time at the moment. We can all guess what the reasons are but we don't really know, seeing as we are not with them 24/7 and see what goes down when the doors are closed, so I don't even going to start to speculate. I do think that if they make it, they will keep to themselves a lot more. Meaning Nick doing his thing and Mariah doing her thing without constantly tweeting or talking about each other. I would not be surprised if that is going to be the course when they decide to stay together. I hope for them that if they don't make it, that they try everything that they can to keep it civil and as normal as possible seeing that there are 2 little children involved.

MC interview (45,937) by MimiLamb from Germany
Somebody told me that the translation wasn't all from the Mariah interview. If you read closely Mariah is talking about being on tour, recording and doing videos at the same time. (Say what now? When did she do that?) These all were parts of the Beyonce interview so idk if somebody has a full and correct translation of this.

Sinus stuff (45,936) by May from Denmark
I don't believe that she recorded the album while having sinus infection, not that I wouldn't believe her doing the effort but it's almost impossible to sing a note at all when having such a thing. My father suffered from sinusitis for many years and he got it because he was a smoker, which is the main cause of a sinus infection, other minor causes are a cold or some dental problem. MC doesn't smoke and she disliked people smoking next to her. So then if she ever got a sinus infection, it was a mild one, and that type goes away from a week up to a 3 weeks depending the case. Only chronic ones can go as long as months. Also, needless to say her voice would sound too nasal and too opaque and yet it doesn't. The album was in the make for years, and you are telling me, that if she ever truly had a sinus infection, she didn't simply rest a week and then go back to the studio? Very far fetched the idea of recording with a sinus. As much maybe she would do it with a cold (which she has done in the past) where her vocals are still ok and she can still breath fine. But with sinus infection you hardly can breath at all, overall if instead one side it takes both.

Matt Lauer special (45,935) by May from Denmark
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was the weirdest part of the whole special. I truly liked that special, it had a bit of everything. But when they reached to the part of the babies, I felt it was contrived, forced, nothing seemed real. MC and Nick were over-dressed and the darling children were in jammies. It was so strange, then Nick sat down in the background looking bored and MC would be more worried about fixing her hair a thousand times than anything else, I didn't understand the whole thing. The only time that could be real play where Mariah was trying to lay down on the floor so her daughter could be on top, it was cut. I'm a mom, and I didn't feel an ounce of "realness" in that specific moment or let's call it sketch. I think it would have been nice if they, at least, made it look like the cams just arrived and Nick and Mariah were doing their "dailies" with the babies, being more casual and playing around in a more homely environment. Another poster mentioned that it could be the friction between them two but it is yet to see about that. All I know is that form the whole special, that part right there, was off.

Matt / the silent snapdragon (45,934) by Brad from USA
Hi fellow lambs. Matt, your message brought back the good old days when I would pour over CD liner notes, when there was a mystique about the creation of an album. Yes, I have his album and noted that nickname for MC back in '92. I have actually incorporated that name in personal uses since then, so it's funny to me that you mention it. Anyhow, I'm not sure if it is some kind of reference to the flower or a comment about personal behavior. I'm not sure that there was ever a public dialogue about this nickname for her (since it was long before social media and blogs). I thought that her bouquet from her first wedding had snapdragons in it but I am not so sure about that now (and obviously the wedding occurred after his album). Anyhow, I was happy to see your question. That album from "Big Nasty" had some good songs on it. On another subject, it seems telling to me how silent MC was with Nick Cannon appearing on Jimmy Fallon last night and she did not tweet about his appearance at all, as she once would have. Also, Nick seemed intent not to mention her at all during his appearance. This seems to speak volumes about the current status of their relationship.

PJW / WBT vocals (45,933) by juan from Dubai
I completely disagree with you. The live versions of WBT when she promoted it on talk shows and features (Oprah, Ellen, Movie Awards, Blueprint) were as good as the record, look it up. Her image is so tarnished. Basically, Mariah is just lazy to kick a*s. Somebody needs to wake her up.

Sinus infection / Nick (45,932) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
PJW for some reason I didn't buy that either. And about the vocals being straight from demo, I don't believe it either. MC seems to be taking a lot of stuff out of Beyonce's interviews where she talked about her album "Beyonce". She also said that she kept vocals from the demo and we all know Mariah tried to pull a "semi-Beyonce" when releasing MIAM which backfired. Before I piss of people, I want to clarify I am aware that Mariah's album strategy was not exact copy hence "semi-Beyonce" due to the fact that she too thought that dropping the album at once will make it successful. Mariah, why lie at all? She went to the studio a million times to record and re-record, it's all up on twitter. Secondly, Christine, when I saw the interview it looked like Mariah quite blatantly ignored Nick in it (now I am not saying she did it without reason, Nick did give her plenty to be pissed about, like the ex-girlfriend scandal and the explicit sex life details). But yes, it seemed like Mariah was kind of not looking at Nick and I don't know if you noticed, but there was a point where Nick was trying to take Roc from Mariah and she just completely walked passed him without one glance. Throughout the song there are many times I caught Nick looking at Mariah and at some points the dude looked confused as to what his role exactly is in the video since him being there was almost pointless. There was no interaction between the two. They could have just not included him to avoid the awkward video.

PJW re: WBT (45,931) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
You're right that she hasn't come close to it. She's far surpassed it.

Recorded the album with a sinus infection? (45,930) by PJW from The U.K.
Really? This is a variant of "I can't hear myself in my monitor/my dress is broken/it's early in the morning". I don't buy it. Further, she claims she recorded some of the songs in the space of a few minutes and kept those vocals. At the time she also claimed that WBT was sung straight through in one take and that was the version we got, which I never believed as she's not yet come close to it live.

(45,928) by christine from USA
With all the rumors about Mariah and Nick divorcing does anyone think that may be one of the reasons the cd was delayed? Maybe she added Faded, or You're Mine when things started going bad between them? Does anyone know when these songs were actually written? Additionally did anyone notice the segment on the Matt Lauer special when they showed the video clip of Mariah and Nick with dem babies? When I watched it I thought, boy Nick isn't even looking at Mariah, he looked like he didn't want to be there. I hope the rumors aren't true, but we haven't seen any pics of them together since the beginning of July, which is also odd to me. Remember when JD had said "everything that you question will be answered ASAP"? Was he referring to their parting ways, or perhaps to the possible divorce? Very cryptic message.

Snapdragon (45,927) by OGmattyICE from US
I have Trey Lorenz' album that Mariah helped produce, and I got to reading Trey's notes to the fans at the end of the lyrics insert where he gives credits. It says Mariah Carey: (Snapdragon) blah blah. Is (was) this his nickname for her? Does anybody else have his album and could shed some light on the subject?

GM interview (45,926) by Dove from USA
I just read the article and I liked it. She seemed really sweet and down to earth. On a side note: I apologize for the "I want her to go out with a bang not a whimper" comment in my last post. That's just my frustration coming out.

HitFix, fix yourself (45,925) by Mike RC from Spain
I like the HitFix article about the producers Mariah could work with, but where did they get from that Vision Of Love and Love Takes Time were penned by Mariah and Walter Afanassieff? We all know it was Mariah and Ben Margulies. By the way, I'd love her to work with both of them sometime again, I know we'd die.

Thoughts (45,923) by B from USA
Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse is an excellent album. The promo, singles, and videos were the problem with this era. Mariah doesn't need a producer to save her. She needs a manager that can guide her and take full advantage of her talent. I'm happy with the album and don't understand the hate it's getting from other fans.

If Mariah and Celine were competing for the same date, why didn't they just do the concert together?

Re: post 45,917 by Ty (45,921) by Dove from USA
That is unfortunate. If it were me I would have spent my own money to promote it, especially because it's so good. This could have been her big comeback album. I would rather have a good album with little promo over a mediocre album with tons of promo though. I just wish more people could hear this one. I just want her to go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

Turkish magazine interview (45,920) by Darryle from USA
I read Mariah's interview for the Turkish magazine gay mag. I found it really interesting that she recorded most of the album with a sinus infection and that most of the vocals are demo versions that she decided to keep. Then just work on the production for those songs. So guess this explains the imperfections in the vocals. She kept them like that because she liked them. If you want to read the interview you can go to the Mariah Carey Community Facebook page or Vision Of Love Mariah tumblr page.

On JD and MC moving around on stage (45,919) by JC from UK
I honestly think it was unfair and disrespectful of their friendship for Mariah to have JD as a scapegoat for all the hate that this era has gotten. Has everyone forgotten all of the things that JD has said during his interviews that everything that was happening will be addressed by MC and it's all in her "plan"? IMHO I think JD tried to do everything he thought should be done for this album to not flop as hard as it did but once again, MC didn't let him do his job because she wanted it done her way. She was convinced her "new" way of releasing the anticipated album would be a success. Then it happened, and nothing. I do agree that MC is probably surrounded by a group of enablers but someone has to tell her how it is whether she is a living legend or not. I think MC was oozing charisma and charm during the 90's because she had the confidence to go with her raw talent. She knew she could just open her mouth and a note would come out flawlessly. Nowadays we know her voice isn't the same, her insecurity has gotten the best of her and she tries to compensate by looking all sexy and glamorous on stage. Once MC get her body in check again and with proper motivation to sing live, I think she'll be ready to make a comeback.

Mimi L. (45,918) by MimiLamb from Germany
All is good. Like I said Jermaine wasn't treated right at all, a lot took it way too far and blamed everything on him. It's just as much Mariah's fault. That's the thing for me the mistakes that were made are just as much hers as others. That's the reason why I don't get so upset. I'm like okay Mariah you have to live with that, you made that decision. Jermaine was and is a loyal friend and I hope that remains. It's true that Mariah doesn't address things but she never did so I don't expect her to start doing it now either. Again that's why I'm not getting upset because it's to be expected. I love the woman for 24 years but like us all she's human and no god, by doing certain things she proves just that. I would love to see a lot of things changed but I also know that the chances of her doing so are small (the long dresses, the insecurity of her looks, the not moving etc). So either I can accept her to be how she is or I can't. And I can because I just look back at all the years she is been a constant in my life, her music helping me through all kinds of situations so I just take what I get as long as we have her here doing what she does best.

(45,917) by Ty from USA
I've met Mariah many times and know industry people who know her. Def Jam pulled the plug in promotion because Mariah went over budget on the cd. There was no more money to pour into this campaign. Mariah could have went on IG and made some snippets singing songs on the CD. She didn't. She could have done an unplugged in NYC for the fans. She didn't. This cd is a wrap. Her new concerts will be the same setlist with 3 songs added as she always does with pre-recorded vocals because [censored] and her voice has changed. We except this and we move on. [censored] It's time to let go. She's a wife and mother now and music no longer comes first. How about [censored] and leave her alone.

Producers (45,916) by THE TRUTH from USA
I have no idea who or what "Hitfix" is, who died and made them an authority on anything? For sure they need a new handle. As far as producers, one out of six won't get you very far. Yes to Pharell and Rick Rubin although I doubt her antics would go over well with Rick. Why don't people give it a rest? Let MC go away for awhile, regroup and come back with a vengeance rather than a fading whimper.

May (45,915) by Dove from USA
I completely agree with your post about WH and MJ. I feel that now that MC has kids and is getting older she is going to want to slow down a lot. I want her to have one more very successful era with a new album full of great songs, amazing performances, creative and fun videos, beautiful clothes, lots of promo, etc. I want her to go out with a bang. Maybe with three or seven more number ones under her belt. When I say go out with a bang, I don't mean fully retire. I mean after the big comeback she can just announce she's becoming a studio artist (in order to spend more time with her kids) and just release music whenever she feels like it independently.
