Webmaster, oh no you didn't, lol (40,445) by Edward from USA
Eric, I honestly wouldn't change anything from Daydream. I am curious to know which two tracks you would leave out of Daydream should you be forced to. It is weird how Daydream and Music Box with only 10 and 12 tracks were so powerful.

Favorite songs per album (40,444) by MCfanATL from USA
I was always find things like this fun to do, so here goes (and I agree, it's hard to pick just one):
Mariah Carey: Vanishing, All In Your Mind
Emotions: Can't Let Go (love this video, too)
MTV Unplugged: Someday (love this live version)
Music Box: Music Box, All I've Ever Wanted
Merry Christmas: AIWFCIY, Miss You Most (such a great song)
Daydream: Fantasy, When I Saw You, Daydream Interlude (brillant and pioneering)
Butterfly: Butterfly, The Beautiful Ones
#1's: When You Believe
Rainbow: After Tonight, Bliss
Glitter: Loverboy, All My Life (Btw, I've heard a lot of chatter on this messageboard about this album. Quite frankly this album was brillant, and musically progressive. Nowadays everyone is using 80's beats, samples, and synthesizers. MC ushered that into the 21st century, folks.)
Charmbraclet: The One, I Only Wanted
TEOM: Shake It Off, Circles, Get Your Number
E=MC2: Touch My Body, For The Record (one of my favs)
MOAIA: H.A.T.E.U, More Than Just Friends (a lot can be said about this album, but it's a consistent listen)
MCIIY: Oh Santa, The First Noel/Born Is The King
Non-album singles:
Do You Think Of Me (I adore this one)
Everything Fades Away (should've been on the album)
Endless Love (two of the greatest voices together)
Do You Know Where You're Going To
Help Me Make It Through The Night (country Mariah)

Long ago (40,443) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
Edward, you silly boy. Daydream without "Long ago" is like café au lait without milk. Have you ever listened to this song with your headphones on?

When I saw you (40,442) by Edward from USA
Those of you implying that Daydream could've been fine without "When I Saw You" should be put in jail, lol. There is no waste in Daydream, but if I were forced to leave two tracks out, they would be "Long Ago" and "Daydream Interlude". Whoever suggested "Open Arms" should be crucified, lol. Daydream though not as vocally powerful as Music Box is more soulful.

Re: Will and Ashley (40,441) by Ryan from the Philippines
Will, "There For Me" was a good song but IMO it was an overly generic Mariah ballad. TAOLG's overall production can even beat that of TFM's, but to exclude the lyrics lol. Ashley, yes I thought about "When Christmas Comes" too, but as you can see with my selection all the tracks vary from different things and the firsts of all the succeeding similar songs she released in her entire catalogue. WCC to me is like a Christmas version of "I Don't Wanna Cry" and "Mine Again". And "Christmas Time Is In The Air Again" was something new to my ear. It has this theatrical/animated film OST feel.

Loverboy vs Triumphant (40,440) by Blake from USA
I do not like either of these singles. I think Loverboy was cheesy and using Cameo on the track did not help. The video was terrible too. The track is just not good to me. Triumphant could have been a hit had it had a pop release with a radio mix that resembled the vintage throwback, even though she needed to write another verse for it. I hope the original version doesn't make the cut for the new album. The message is awesome especially because it's written for Nick and his health issues sometime back but it could be her worst single ever in my book. Loverboy is a close second for worst singles. What do you think of these two singles?

Positivity / My All/Stay Awhile (40,432) by Alex from England
I'd like to take a minute and say how great it is to read positive comments about Mariah and her music. Also I'd just like to know if anyone else thinks My/Stay Awhile remix will never be surpassed as an R&B/HipHop remix? I remember when I heard it on the radio in my home-country, France, when I was 15. I had fallen in love with her the previous the same year with the song "Butterfly". To promote #1's she had done an interview for a popular French radio and after playing some of the new tracks they just announced the next song to be My All and then that remix started playing. I was like "What is this song?" I became obsessed with it and managed to record it on my cassette player. It took me 3 years to finally get my hands on the CD single, the longest 3 years of my life haha. Still to this day, that remix is for me the most amazing remix I've ever heard from her and God knows how I love most of her remixes.

Re: KaizenOcean and B, thoughts (40,431) by clueey23 from USA
KaizenOcean, I totally agree with almost everything you said about MC. The only thing that I was thinking is "TAOLG" should wrap up the album, be the last track. I've been in love with the song. The music and those background vocals are everything. Not to mention MC and Rodney Jerkins production. It's so very different for Rodney Jerkins, I've never heard him produce anything so classic and timeless before. But I agree with everything else, great post. B, I feel the same about those songs. I couldn't take Music Box without the uptempos or Daydream without "When I saw you". That production and vocal on that song are just out of this world. I can't wait to hear MC sing pure love songs. Who wrote on Tamar Braxton's "Love and War"? She has some really great pure love songs on her album. Also Brandy's album from 2012 was on point as far as just pure love songs. I can't wait. I hope we get a beautiful r&b record on 2.14.14 and a classic r&b album in the spring. I can't wait. Also, loving MCs new pictures on Facebook.

No, no, no (40,430) by B from USA
Now That I Know, I've Been Thinking About You, and When I Saw You are three of my favorites. When I Saw You is perfection. I love Slipping Away, it should have been included but not at the expense of another song. It's what made the Always Be My Baby single a must own. I'm not a fan of Everything Fades Away. The other ballads on the album are far superior.

Some personal point about Mariah's career (40,426) by Loris from Italy
Vision Of Love is her best song and will be unmatched forever. I Don't Wanna Cry is a huge classic and Mariah needs to understand that. Slipping Away should have been on Daydream and released as an official single right after Always Be My Baby (When I Saw You should have followed as the final single). Daydream is her landmark album, even though Open Arms shoud have been replaced by Slipping Away. Surely since the urban turning point in 1997, Mariah has delivered us some incredible gems, but her frivolous image plus her inability to move towards the contemporary music realm has damaged her career in the long term. Despite all this, #Beautiful is the best r&b song of 2013 (though Body Party by Ciara, Mirrors by Justin and Belong To The World by The Weekend are quite spectacular too), and it deserved to reach the global success of Blurred Lines. It's just timeless. In the 90's it would have been number 1 on Billboard charts. The Art Of Letting Go incorporates stellar vocals (production is also great), but cheesy lyrics. Triumphant and TAOLG shouldn't make the final cut. At this point what I expect from her is to deliver a brilliant record with a vibe halfway between Daydream/Butterfly and Motown, and #Beautiful just serves this purpose. I am not interested in hip hop collaboration. I would only admit Steve Wonder and Prince. Also, Mariah should be less conservative in the videos for the next era. Less diva and more musical genius.

Peaceful Aquarian (40,425) by TJ from Norway
I agree with you on the Music Box tracks, but "To the Floor" and "One and Only"? No, no, no way that "I feel it" could have replaced them.

Prizeo (40,424) by Tony from Ireland
Is anybody here taking part of the Prizeo competition? I'm so freeking exited about it. How awesome could be go to NY on Valentine's day and listen to her new track live, there just for one of us?? I do love Mariah and I think if that happen to me I will collapse to the floor. Lol. Talking about songs that didn't make in to the albums, what about "There goes my heart"? I do love this song. It was on a Deluxe version of Charmbracelet and the only "but" would be that if she sings that song on a higher register it would be amazing.

TAOLG cover (40,423) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Wow that was beautiful. I loved it. Mariah should watch it, I'm sure she'll appreciate it too. I loved how he personalized some parts and sung it a little differently than the original. Great voice.

Everything Fades Away (40,420) by Lainsky from Philippines
In Asia, or at least here in the Philippines, this is the last album cut for Music Box. Also this is the first ever Mariah album I bought when Hero was so popular here and you can virtually hear it everyday almost everywhere for almost a year! Since then I bought each and every album she released. Until now, the only DVD I am missing is the very first video she has, The First Vision. I can't find it.

Edward / Maxwell (40,419) by 123 from USA
Edward, I'm shocked, you don't know who Maxwell is? You have to listen to his last album BLACKsummernights. Fist Full Of Tears and Bad Habits especially. I can hear Mariah belting to Fist Full Of Tears, it's the style I want Mariah to go in balladwise. Maxwell has been teasing a follow up to his three part series called blackSUMMERnights. It was supposed to be released last year if I'm not mistaken. Anyone that is a fan of real soul/r&b music should listen to his last album.
