You're Mine promotion (41,380) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I've seen a few people say Mariah should be doing this or that to promote the song, but to be fair to her, she has been promoting it non stop since its release. I have been critical of Mariah in recent years for not making enough effort with promotion, but at the moment I do not think that she can be criticized. IMO, she has worked very hard. The only part where I would say there is room for improvement, is with mainstream media. If she actually appeared on The View, as planned, or Ellen, then that would have allowed her to share the song with the masses, but instead she seems to be focusing a lot on BET and radio, which is good, because she is concentrating on core rnb markets. However, I think she or her people should make better choices regarding where she promotes. A Wendy Williams appearance would be mega publicity for her. She should do it lol.

So you said that like in the story a mermaid turns into seafoam and dies. So in the video when you see Mariah as a mermaid and not glittery that's the part of the story where the mermaid isn't dying and when Mariah get's glittery and there is glitter on the bed that's the part where the mermaid would turn into seafoam. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Poor sales (41,378) by Hana from UK
No surprise as to why it isn't charting well. It's lyrically cliched, the structure is dated, imo it belongs in a 2005 slow jam collection. Sorry, not sorry.

Jeremey Carey / charts / iTunes (41,377) by Edward from USA
Jeremey Carey, I agree with you about the charts, it has just been two days, and "You're Mine (Eternal)" hasn't been officially released to radio yet, it will be on the 18th. I hope they use the Clear Channel stations again to exposed the single so other radio station pick it up, and people start requesting and buying. The single has sold what it has so far based on Mariah's promotion and anticipation. Once the single impacts radio in a broader sense, people are going to start buying it, hopefully. I play "You're Mine (Eternal)" to a non fan, and she told me it reminded her of Daydream, and she thought it was a decent track, so I have a good feeling about this one.

If that's what Mariah was going for then wow, that totally makes me look at the video in a completely different way. Thanks for pointing that out.

Danny / Thirsty (41,375) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes Mariah mentioned in one of her radio interviews that she has a new song called Thirsty and she also mentioned the producer, I forgot the name though. I think she talked about it when people the interviewers were talking about Beyonce's Drunk In Love. What's funny is that when I heard her mention the name of the song, I also immediately thought about Migrate. Hopefully it will be an upbeat song like Migrate or maybe sultry like Drunk In Love. Another name that came to mind when she mentioned Thirsty was the song Crave that someone posted here months back and said it was for the Butterfly album but wasn't included as it was considered too sexual.

Nikki (41,374) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Please don't go around assuming that you are the only one who cracked the similarities between YME video and the original Little Mermaid and then call people dense and shallow. The fact that Mariah drew the ideas from the story is quite apparent. The whole costume discussion comes up because we all know Mariah isn't exactly known for her dancing skills and if she would have used an alternative way to hide her breasts at least she could move around the rainforest or at the very least move her hands more freely. The fact that the shots were beautiful and MC looking gorgeous isn't lost on anyone. If M as a little mermaid could find a piece of material to wear as a skirt, she could find one to cover her chest. You made your point, explaining something that probably some people didn't know, that's fine, but don't feel too free to call people out on their intelligence.

YM video / Nikki (41,373) by Mara from United States
Nikki that is an excellent interpretation of the video and I think you are on to something. I can totally see what you are saying. I think the video is visually beautiful. Yeah M is holding herself the entire time, but I have to say I think it is much classier and artistic (those water scenes) than beautiful. When Beautiful came out I think we all were wishing for a 50's back and forth with Mariah and Miguel. That was my wish for a video, with more of a storyline. But YM is very dark and has a mysterious feel to it, part of it reminded me of my favourite Butterfly. Is it a vanity video? Partly yes, but I think it is more fitting in this one. Anyone know why there was no banner advertising YM on iTunes? Is this IDJ not putting up the funds? Think of the downloads she would have had if there was a banner up there during the Valentine's weekend.

Charts (41,371) by Jeremey Carey from United States
We can't worry about the charts until after the song is fully released to radio, and the BET performance and more performances, then they take streaming into count and we're almost at a million views. Keep streaming lambs. I'm more than confident that this song will impact radios well. (Everyone request your local stations.) I remember all the bad things that were said about Beautiful and it went to 15. It was the perfect way to start the party. You're Mine is a perfect ballad at this time of the year. And after this goes top 20 (hopefully #1 lol) the next uptempo release will definitely ice the cake. (Thirsty maybe?) Please lambs, even if you don't like the song please support it to the best of your ability. Mariah needs us now more than ever. Please vote for the remix video for 106&Park. Reaching younger audiences is essential.

Sounds like a sexual song. Or she is just talking about herself. Jk.

98 now. Come on Mariah, you've got to promote it more like soon. The lambs can only buy so many copies.

Nikki (41,367) by Ms. Giselle from USA
When I read your post all I could do was laugh lol. I didn't even realize that and now I get it but. Had Mariah and Trey scenes were together and they interacted together, I think we all would have gotten that. All we see is Mariah sitting in one spot hands over her breast. They should of shot scenes together. I know Trey couldn't go to P.R., but I wish they shot some scenes where how they meet and fell in love. Where Mariah got her "legs" and he left her and she poofs into gold dust lol.

No creativity is dense fans (41,366) by nikki from usa
I finally got Mariah as a Little Mermaid. I've been waiting for MC to be in a music video as a mermaid. Now, for those of you who are unaware of the original story before Disney came around: a mermaid fell in love with a boy and traded her fins to be with him. In the end, he didn't want her, she was heartbroken naturally, but this came at a price. She lost her life and turned into sea foam. In this music video, instead of foam, Mariah turns to gold glitter. You can see it starts off subtle on her and gains toward the end. At the last scene, you see him tossing and turning in bed, the sheets are covered in gold glitter. If ever there was proof that Mariah has a lot of intelligence, creativity, and an understanding of symbolism this is it. It also goes to show how very shallow people can be who are so obsessed with what she is or isn't wearing that they completely miss the point and subject matter altogether.

Did Mariah mention she has a track on the new album called Thirsty? I hope so, it sounds so fresh. I imagine it's like Migrate.

You're Mine remix with Trey (41,363) by Ms. Giselle from USA
The record label should really push this version. I love this one better in my opinion. Maybe it's because I'm single now and I've wanted/liked Trey, but when he sings "stop that part"' mmm so sexy. He brought the sexiness to the record. I want to buy the video now. Lol. Just for Trey.

Dance remixes iTunes? (41,362) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Anyone know if the single will be available to download Tuesday? Nice to "see" you Stacey, I was curious what your thoughts were. Funny thing, I found out another artist I really like is also releasing their album May 6th. Looks like that's going to be a great day for new music at my house lol.

No creativity (41,361) by Lyric from USA
Well I'm glad most of us can agree on the fact that Mariah could benefit from a creative director of some sort, someone to pass over some new innovative ideas. Her look, videos, song themes and style have been the same for at least ten years. Now I'm really yearning for the WBT video. It had a great storyline and it wasn't vanity shots and glitter. Mariah might be the type that doesn't like change but if people are getting bored, she needs to try some new ideas. If you look at some less talented artists in the business, they are always changing something, whether its their hair or their fashions. Now if they had some of Mariah's talent, and she had some of their visual ideas, I'd be extremely pleased. These vanity videos just aren't pleasant.

You're Mine (Eternal) (41,360) by Stacey from USA
First post since Eric introduced the up/down feature. Now I'll really get to see what you all think of me, lol. I've been busy with three kids and sick with a cold. How's that for a Valentine's present? Anyway, I like the song. I even like the RnB remix. Almost sounds better as a duet. But, I like both versions. The stacato verse reminds me of Your Girl and Heartbreaker choruses. I like how she goes back and forth between soft and full vocals. It's where she's at her best rather than whispering all the time or belting for that matter. A mix of her amazing voice is what works, IMO. The video? I just laughed at the part where she moves her arm to cover up the "girls" better. I'll leave it at that. I'll say that having all the material ready to go when the single is released is a nice change. I'm glad to see her working with other singers rather than having a rapper guest star on a remix. I also thought with the title, You're Mine, it was going to be some mushy love song. To see it be a song about lost love, wanting that person back ala WBT was nice. The remixes are nice, but why is she only singing the final chorus all throughout the remix? I wished she would have resung the verses and included them too. All and all, this is a great start. I can't wait for May 6th.

Licia (41,359) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes, you were right about the second day interviews. It was way better and professional yet funny. That's the real Mariah we all know and love. So when people tried to say that the "rambling Mariah moment" was her usual routine, it's not the truth, this is why I referred back to 2005-2009 era when her interviews were funny, witty and professional. I am glad she took note and fixed herself up for the next round of interviews. I just get frustrated because I don't know about her, but I desperately want her to be back at #1, I hate how talentless people are mass producing what seems to be like the same song with different lyrics (yes I know they are not the same, dahlin') while people like Mariah who actually make real music are given the backseat. That doesn't sit well with me. Not the slightest bit.

Mimi L (41,358) by Licia from USA
That's why I ask why no one was talking about the other interviews that she did. Everyone keeps going on and on about the Breakfast Club interview, but no one said anything about the other ones that were better. I just assumed people just wanted something to complain about and they didn't bother to watch or listen to the others.

Letting go (41,356) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Okay so we get it already everybody's appalled and disappointed in Mariah now. Talk about overkill bashing. How many of you never indulged in a drink and behaved differently before? How many of you never made comments about people you don't care for too much? How many of you are human? I'm sure more than half of you that are complaining the hardest are the main ones that act worse than Mariah when you had a drink of sometime or just in general. It's been three freaking days people, please find another hobby and stop acting like Mariah's killed somebody, has been involved in 5 hit and run car accidents, and left them babies in the car by themselves for three hours while she went to the liquor store. None of this is that serious. I am amazed at how so many people (who I never see posting on an ordinary day), come out of the woodworks with their pitchforks only to crucify Mariah when she does something they don't like. It's clear that some of you were once fans that completely turned against her and now you only have negative vent-ful things to express about her. (I know I've checked some of you all's message history and some of you have only posted negative things on this messageboard not even one positive message you know who you are), it's a thin line between love and hate. I can respect an honest critique, and I'm not saying you shouldn't express disappointment sometimes. But when it gets to a point that all you ever do is complain and can't even post one positive thing about Mariah on her "fan site" then you need to just realize you're not a fan anymore and let go. I love Mariah for better or worse, it's an unconditional love and though I agreed with somethings posted, it's unnecessary to go on this tangent for this long. Let it go and acknowledge when she redeems herself.

Second day interviews (41,355) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah seems to have gotten back to form for the interviews after that day, I just got to watch them today and she not only looks gorgeous (and dressed properly), she didn't stray away off topic and gave informative answers. All her interviews need to be like these. Like the BET 106 & Park moment, she was her usual funny self but she talked about the song as much as she could in that time frame. That's the MC we all want. It brought a smile to my face instead of a cringe.

Twitter pics (41,354) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah looks so effortlessly sexy in those pics. She looks nothing close to 40 and can easily pass off as half that age. I was going through each and I was like wow, that's gorgeous.
