Everything Fades Away (40,420) by Lainsky from Philippines
In Asia, or at least here in the Philippines, this is the last album cut for Music Box. Also this is the first ever Mariah album I bought when Hero was so popular here and you can virtually hear it everyday almost everywhere for almost a year! Since then I bought each and every album she released. Until now, the only DVD I am missing is the very first video she has, The First Vision. I can't find it.

Edward / Maxwell (40,419) by 123 from USA
Edward, I'm shocked, you don't know who Maxwell is? You have to listen to his last album BLACKsummernights. Fist Full Of Tears and Bad Habits especially. I can hear Mariah belting to Fist Full Of Tears, it's the style I want Mariah to go in balladwise. Maxwell has been teasing a follow up to his three part series called blackSUMMERnights. It was supposed to be released last year if I'm not mistaken. Anyone that is a fan of real soul/r&b music should listen to his last album.

Make it go away (40,418) by Manny from U.S.
I remember reading that Mariah wrote the song "Make it go away" from the "Wisegirls" soundtrack. I went to the BMI website but I don't know where to look for an artists catalogue. I totally love this song and in my mind I always thought Mariah wrote it . Can anyone help me with this. Lately, I've been listening to "Right To Dream". It has such beautiful lyrics. I can relate to it in a different way than Mariah's character. Something random thing: Does anyone remember MTV (around Music Box era) showed an interview and they asked her about her whistle register. She said something like, "My mother is an opera singer and sometimes when I hit those notes she looks at me like 'how do you do that?' I don't know it's a freakish thing for me sometimes." And then she giggles. It was the funniest, cutest thing. I can't find the clip/interview on YouTube. Does anybody remember or know where I can get it?

Songs that didn't make it (40,417) by Peaceful Aquarian from United States
Do You Think of Me and Everything Fades Away could've replaced Now That I Know and I've Been Thinking About You. Slipping Away could've replaced When I Saw You. I Feel It could've replaced To The Floor or One And Only.

Hello (40,416) by B from USA
Do You Think Of Me and Slipping Away are two of Mariah's best songs but the label deemed them too urban.

Lol. I'm not a huge fan of the Music Box album. That could be why l'm not sold on that song. I really tried to like it lol.

You can buy "Everything Fades Away" on iTunes. It's on the Hero single. I love everything about that song. But it's like 20 years old now. I also love "Slipping Away". It's probably strange but I don't think there are MC songs that I prefer over others. Like for other artists I have whole albums over others. Like I only liked maybe 5 songs from Beyonce's "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" and would take her latest and "4" over it. But would take her debut over everything she has released since. But with MC, my soul opens up with each riffs, run, trill, whistle, whisper, low note. And her lyrics have always been far superior to me than her contemporaries. Even though I think MC should open up and work with her contemporaries more. Listening to music with my beats headphones, I hear so much more as far as harmonies and music. MC hasn't released a mediocre or subpar album, IMO. But weak videos would make it seem that way sometimes. I think MCs worst video ever is "I Wanna Know What Love Is" followed by " Hate U". I can't watch either because they don't really do the songs any justice.

Songs that didn't make it (40,413) by David from Australia
Everything Fades Away and Slipping Away are two of her most amazing songs ever. I also wish I Feel It had been chosen instead of To The Floor. That would've made TEOM a perfect album as the duet with Nelly is the only song I don't like from the album. But I read somewhere that I Feel It was initially going to replace Joy Ride and that would've been a real shame if I'd never heard that phenomenal song as it's my absolute favourite from the album. Therefore, I'm glad we got Joy Ride instead as it's far more superior, and we still managed to hear I Feel It in the end. I'm also glad Imperfect didn't make the cut on Memoirs as I dislike the auto tune. On another note, I hope that the future singles from this upcoming album have a few B-sides added as I'm sure she's written a countless number of songs over these last few years and some of them must be amazing and won't make the cut. I'm sure there's some other amazing songs hidden in the vault over the years that we'll never get to hear. Every time I think of Joy Ride almost not making the cut, I wonder how many other amazing songs we may have missed out on that weren't chosen in favour of other songs.

Everything Fades Away (40,412) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
Licia, you're a silly girl. "Still not really sold on Everything Fades Away"? This is by far Mariah's greatest song and it was on all international editions of Music Box.

Edward (40,411) by Licia from USA
I agree about Do You Think Of Me. Still not really sold on Everything Fades Away or Slipping Away. The other songs I have never heard. Where can I find them? I think Secret Love should have made it and although Making It Last All Night made it to the deluxe edition of TEOM, it should have been on the regular album.

Tracks that didn't make it, but should have (40,410) by Edward from USA
As we already know, there are tracks that never made it to the final cut on some of Mariah's previous releases. Some of those tracks, in my opinion, should've made it, but some others, I'm happy they never did. Tracks that should've made it: "Everything Fades Away", "Slipping Away", "Do You Think Of Me", "Help Me Make It Through The Night". There's not denying that those tracks well very well produced and vocally great. Tracks that I'm glad never made it: "Imperfect", "Skydiving", "I Feel It" and many others. The latter three could never be put in the same category as the previous four, and there are many other who were just unpolished mediocre tracks to me. I hope Mariah releases a cd full of unreleased tracks. It would be a killer.

I've been waiting for Maxwell's album for like 4 years now. And before that it was like 8 years. It takes time for greatness. I can't wait for MC's single and the album. Just the thought of these two working together has made me happy about the wait. I also was listening to Beyonce "Superpower" and thought MC should write a song with Frank Ocean. He is such a talented songwriter. I also would love to hear "They Don't Know Me Like That" recorded, I heard the demo a few years ago and fell in love with the song. Wouldn't it be awesome if we got an "unreleased" EP? Like 5-7 songs that weren't released of more current material, nothing from the 90s. Like a mixtape. With songs like "Skydiving".

Imperfect (40,408) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
LambilyWW, I know that only that part was meant for me, I was just saying that instead of talking about the fact that it's technically not a single for the new album, you should just look at the positive side of it. Anyways all is good, it's not a huge deal. And just so we are clear, the first part of my previous message was directed at you, the second half was just my two bits about Mimi. While staying on the topic of Almost Home and Triumphant, I would also like to add that I loved Mariah's discarded song "Imperfect". I think someone said in a post here before that Mariah dropped it because it was autotuned and she did not want to follow that path. I don't know if that's the reason or it's because she thought it wasn't a strong song, but personally I really liked it and I also made one of my non-lamb friend hear it (I force her to hear a lot of Mimi's songs) and even she was praising it and asking why she did not include it on Memoirs. Now obviously Mimi knows more about the music industry than I do, but I wouldn't mind if she has a single which is autotuned like Migrate or I'm That Chick. Those are cute too.

MC (40,406) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
LambilyWW, why don't you just overlook the technicalities and go with the positive side of my post? I was basically talking about how two of her amazing singles, which most people don't know about. A lot of people are talking about Mariah's voice recently and I don't really need Mariah to keep singing high power ballads to me throughout the album. I will be fine with a few. I don't mind her doing hip hop influenced songs because that is something she loves and I like it too. I know some fans want her to completely go back to early 90's MC with the big voice and the strong ballads, and that's fine, I adore those too, but I am not the kind of lamb who don't appreciate her music post Daydream because it's more hip hop flavored! And yes people talk about how fans should give Mariah a break and not push her to release for albums, well darling I am sorry if I can't get enough of Mimi.

MC's last four singles (40,405) by Lainsky from Philippines
I tried playing Triumphant, Almost Home, Bring It On Home and The Art Of Letting Go and I must say these are very good singles if not that great! I like Triumphant (Pulse Remix), the tune is very catchy, current and commercial I guess not to mention it is an inspirational song. IMO, the bad press release on this song that went on and on first than promotion, her AI stint could have affected this single so people's mind were fed by these bad publicities and looked at Triumphant that bad too. Influence of the media is so strong. Almost Home is a soundtrack but it is good for me as well as Bring It On Home, only it's too simple and nice album cut and single. The Art Of Letting Go is really a good start so I hope this single will grow on people and became popular in no time even before the follow up single drops and the album. At this stage of her career, the performance of her releases are understandable I guess. She has nothing to prove but I want to her to nail it again!

Some thoughts (40,403) by Sunshine Divalamb from Germany
First off Mimi L. "Almost Home" was never an official single but the main track for the 2013 Walt Disney Pictures film "Oz the Great and Powerful", so why would they promote it? Hardly doubt it will be on her new album. I have been reading a lot of the comments here. What's disappointing isn't only the negative undertone, but also the way some write. I get the feeling that as soon as things aren't going so well, people kind off turn their backs on Mariah. Some of you made some great points, but the way it's written by some just makes my skin crawl. If it's not the music some of you are complaining about, it's about the release of the new album. Now that is talked out you start about dubbing and lipsyncing. It's sad to see that a lot of fans/lambs are being so negative, picking on every little thing and forgetting what she should mean to us, how she changed us but also how she changed music. Her voice isn't the same as it used to be, well that didn't change over night, we know how fragile her vocal cords are, she has nodules and I think age has something to do with it as well, drinking doesn't help and she needs a lot of rest. So what? We all know she can sing, it's not like she pulled a Milli Vanilli on us. We have so much great Mariah music, I mean hello 23 years worth of great vocals and writing skills that is out of this world. Her priority's changed, did you guys really think that music would be her number 1 forever? For me personally I rather get an album every 4 or 5 years the way I know she can, than get an album every year that is sloppy and messy because she really doesn't have the time to do it properly. It's one thing to be realistic but another if you are downright disrespectful about it. Ofcouse this isn't meant for every person that writes on this messageboard, but if the shoe fits wear it.

Re: Nikki (40,402) by TJ from Norway
I don't like the fact that Mariah does that kind of performances. I think she should be more into the politics. Many fans wonder why pople don't take Mariah seriously as an artist. I guess this is one of the reasons. She can't be eternal 12. It's very important to know what's going on around the world.

Mariah better (40,400) by Edward from USA
I'm making a statement of my own opinion, just to briefly remind everybody here that if Mariah doesn't deliver a killer album, and by killer I don't mean popular, but a great cohesive album, I'll complain directly to her mother Patricia. I can't wait for the Stevie Wonder, Nas, Maxwell, and R-Kelly collaborations. I didn't know anything about Maxwell, but I was blown away yesterday when I heard him singing "This Woman's Work" live on YouTube. That was a mother effing soulful performance. I was like, this guy can get to your soul. Even though the performance is old, I hope he still has that soulful voice.

New album - yay! (40,399) by nikki from usa
Ok, something's irking me. MC2Y came out at the end of 2010, we just ended 2013; that's 3 years 2 months, not 4. Mariah really used to spoil us, didn't she? I'm happy to have all these singles out already. Mariah might be able to release more commercial singles from this album than any album before. From the way Mariah had been talking about this album over the years, it would appear she thinks she's got some hits on her hands. I can't wait to hear the duet with R.Kelly. I think too many people are getting up in arms over nothing though. Mariah released both "Triumphant" and "Art" as pacifiers for this album taking so long. They were straight to web downloads, only Beautiful had been a commercial single and given a proper release. She's only had one official single from this album and it's a seller, so the album will come no matter what. The rest were simply released which means MC didn't think they were strong enough for radio, but wanted the lambs to hear them. The reason why that's a good thing is because it could mean we'll get more tracks on this album instead of the traditional 10-12. The hip hop community went nuts for Triumphant and so did the clubbers: #1 dance track. Art is a great vocal and Beautiful was universally well received. She covered every major MC demographic. I think Mariah is promoting this album the best way she can solo.

Radaronline needs to be tied to a tree (40,398) by nikki from usa
And then shot. Stick a fork in it, it's done. The number of inaccuracies in a single article is nothing short of embarrassing, if not flat out slander. Mariah never performed for the president in Angola, she sang for a retiring banker at the Bank's bash for 1.3 million because it was being sponsored by Unitel, a telephone company. She then sang for a charity sponsored by the Red Cross and even donated one of her dresses for the event. The Sultan of Brunei isn't a "dictator" as he inherited the country through hereditary succession as he is a part of the monarchy. A traditional monarchy does have that kind of control, like it or not. His policies may be brutal, but I bet the theft rates drop overnight. Brunei gives free education through university and has other benefits as well. There are pros and cons to everything.

My thoughts on a few things: Triumphant, the new album (40,397) by David from Australia
I'm glad to see some love for Triumphant. I love that song, except the second verse, in which MC should perhaps have had her own verse. I love her hip/hop stuff, as well as her more soulful stuff and I hope the album has a good mix of both. Another thing: there is nothing wrong with Mariah taking her time to release this album and making it perfect. Beyonceé's album really was nothing special. I agree with Linda Collins that there isn't much good mainstream music today. Most songs are geared towards the clubs and the quality of lyrics is missing. I could write better songs. Therefore, I would hate it if MC went down that dance route. I'm glad she does her own thing and I hope chart success doesn't bother her anymore. She should strive for it, but the most important thing is that the music comes from the heart and is timeless as opposed to just getting a number one. She has constantly delivered great music and I'm sure the new album is going to be something amazing whenever it's released. Her current catalog alone is more than enough to keep me satisfied. She works like a machine so I think she's entitled to have some time off or take it slow this time around.

Edward / Matthew (40,396) by Licia from USA
Edward, I never believed for a second that the record company didn't know or have anything to do with it. That's another reason why it wouldn't work for Mariah. IDJ isn't doing much for her now. They would never take a risk like that on her. She would truly be doing it on her own. Matthew, if the farting had a bad ass remix, I might consider buying it. Lol.
(Saturday 4 January 2014; 0:28)
Licia (40,395) by Matthew from USA
Licia dear, are you implying that if Mariah did nothing but fart on the next album you wouldn't buy it? How dare you? Lol. The sad part is that I would probably buy it. Mariah's got me (like the song) for life I guess. Untill death do us part, through good albums and through bad. Lol. Anyway, I hear you Licia. I don't think Mariah should follow Beyonce either.
