Stella spin machine (75,560)

So here is how E network is spinning the mess today. But funny M. and team went to great lengths to announce "Snake" is still in her employ and set up a fake dinner date, with paps present in a half empty restaurant. All that to say "nothing to see here" SMH I'm sure Evil network is deciding to renew Circus Word 2 as we speak, or trying to figure out how to spin a new season.

Everyone fanning over Celine (75,559)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
There are tons of pictures of celebs, like Drake etc. in Celine Dion's dressing room showing her love and respect. I just thought about this compared to Mariah and I don't think MC would want a room full of younger acts "bowing" down to her and stuff. Mariah seems very uncomfortable with her fame to this date and she really only likes to hang with her inner circle.

I really can't answer this question. It's never been so hard for me to stop supporting an artist as it has been with Mariah. I guess I just hold on to the hope that eventually get her crap together. I know she can do better.

I would've been happy if Mariah retired (75,557)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
Before you jump down my throat, here [sic] me out. I would've been happier if she retired after #1's to Infinity if it meant she didn't go down this route. No NYE disaster. I would've been okay with a twenty five year flawless career. I don't want her going thirty five years but the last ten are going to be a laughing stock. No thank you. I respect her and her talent way to much to see her degrade herself any further. Now that being said, had she continued with the work ethic of at least the Memoirs era and a great NYE performance then I wouldn't mind if she continued.

Because unconditional love, is love despite condition, despite the delusional lambs who seem to feel it is love with no conditions. Lol, well that is my quick take. I'm like Mimi girl I still love you, but you are acting a sloppy butthole mess rn. Many are just saying yaaaas queen, do you, just be a happy sloppy mess. I even get that, but when I see those highly paid snakes called employees and enablers I will drag them for the filthy dogs they are, at every turn. Lol.

Exactly, Lila. The little delulu lambies are fairly vocal encouraging the nonsense. If it were not so sad it would be laughable. Did you see the viral video of the sea lion snatching the little girl into the water? Why did I envision Stella and slugs at that moment? Lol.

Depends on how you define the word relevant? According to my understanding of that word "relevant" a dictionary definition defines it as "of contemporary interest" which she still more than qualifies for.

Why do we die hards stick around? (75,553)
by Special K from USA

Why in the hell do we die hards stick around? Why? I mean who the hell is more crazier? Fans who put up with Mariah's BS and say she can do no wrong or us die hard fans who call Mariah out on her BS but still support her whether it be seeing her in concert, buying her records, even running a world wide website, etc, etc. Why? Why is we still here gosh darn it.

Of course not, but that's not why I replied. You said that Mariah is still relevant, when it's clear she isn't. And no one can deny that, not even you.

Surely you can't be referring to me. I turned 34 last Wednesday (I may not look it though). I too have been here supporting Mariah for well over two decades. Since I was in my early teens, yes since the 90's. Didn't we all do an age check here recently? I didn't see any babies here. So I have every right to question some of you guys. Bickering and complaining at every chance you get, over issues that shouldn't warrant such. Like you were new fans and she was still in her prime. It doesn't make sense. Grow up. Have you noticed the state the music industry has sunken to lately, this isn't the 90's anymore. Heck this isn't even the 2000's anymore. We're almost 30 years into her career and she has done well by still pushing forward and staying relevant. What is it you truly want from her that all she's done still isn't good enough. Free yourself from that Daydream era time warp you're stuck in and live in the now. Time has moved forward, and so has she.

Fan base / Breakdown (75,547)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
First things first. Breakdown in my opinion has always been one of Mariah's perfect musical moments it combined the right of R&B and hip hop without coming off as desperate or trying too hard. Still to this day this song remains one of my favorite songs done by Mariah ever. Honestly as far as the fan base goes I find nothing wrong with fans who have been around since forever expressing concern or dismay with Mariah's actions as of the past two years a lot of these actions are overshadowing what we love about Mariah the most and when the music suffers everything else seems irrelevant. As a day one fan it's hard for me to defend some of choices as of late. Honestly I am tired of Mariah being photographed coming out of trendy restaurants just be captured by TMZ while the blood sucking clan gets freebies off Mariah's back but if this is what she is going to allow she can not blame no one but herself. Hopefully she can wake up and smell the roses and get back to the main thing at hand making some fire tunes and a banging album.

It's definitely okay to some fans, the complete fool she is making of herself. They don't outnumber the fans that see it for what it is nor the general public but they are there and there's more than a few. They think her stupid behavior, trashy dressing, and fake relationship with Tonka Toy is cute, and that her poor performances should be ignored, and that anything that goes wrong be blamed on everyone and their mama as long as it's not Mariah. They think that everyone else should think the same way also. On the other hand, it's hilarious because these are the same ones who will then turn around and constantly question why Mariah isn't respected, why everyone picks a part her performances and no one else's, and basically why the whole wide world is against her.

Mariah loosing a lot of fans thread (75,544)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|

TJ and Edward are 100% right. Oh make no mistake, those of us frustrated at MC are real fans. We have every right to express disappointment in the person we have supported for over two, count 'em, two decades. I've been there since the beginning. Certain fans have no right to question the loyalty of fans who've been here when said fans were still in diapers. Look at the fool she's making of herself. That's ok with some of you? Take a seat and step it back a bit.

Do you mean that when she disappoint you personally with her music, you have the right to be disappointed, and still be a real fan? But at the same time tell the other real fans who lost interest in her latest projects for "goats"? It should bother Mariah that her fan base is falling apart. Less fans, less money and less opportunity to make music.

Article: Mariah Carey wears the same black top as Jesinta Franklin (75,542)
by Matthew from USA
| |
|
|
See. It's not that Mariah is trashy. Mariah from 10 years ago would wear this top and she would look cute in it. But now with the bigger boobs and more weight, it's just not a good look. Her boobs are practically falling out of the black top. The top itself is fine, but if she wants to wear things like this, she would need to try and go back to the figure and bust she had 10 years ago. Otherwise it's just a hot mess. Whatever happened to the trainer she had that made her do water aerobics and got her into the shape she was in for Touch My Body? Did she get fired with the rest when Stella came on board and cleaned house?

The rise of YouTube, the downfall of Mimi (75,541)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
We know Mariah has had self esteem issues her whole life. Anybody who would believe that they have a bad side off one comment clearly does. But she dealt with it and in the '90s she was younger (prettier) and there weren't as many uncontrolled photo opps. Now as an older Mariah (who is trying to stay young looking with questionable methods) and the ability to upload her image at any given time must be driving her self esteem issues through the roof. Think about it, in 1995 if she had a bad performance it wouldn't be everywhere the next minute. As social media started to really rise to the levels it is now Mariah's career started to falter. In correlation. I'm looking at you 2008. Blogs like Perez Hilton started to become the voice and Mariah was a hostage to public opinion. For someone like Madonna with a thicker skin we didn't see the effects right away, but for our sensitive Mariah it must've have been hell. She carried on anyway and still tweeted throughout 2009 but after 2011 when she had her twins, her body changed and she was now 41. I noticed a big difference. And after Rockerfeller tree lighting incident she stopped using her own social media altogether. I can only imagine the hateful things she read about herself on there. Now with the NYE debacle there is no chance for her to ever feel safe or comfortable performing. Her esteem is shot and she is too guarded. Which is now a perfect mix for someone like Stella to "protect" her. Mariah's star was born at a time before social media and YouTube, I think she's tried her best (and her talent has kept her around) but like many artists she has found it hard to transition to this new era. The post 2010 technological landscape. Like in the '80s when some acts couldn't continue because they couldn't transition to the new MTV music video age. I feel bad for Mariah in this regard, she was once the most beautiful singer on the scene. But she warned us in 2008: "If there's a camera up in here then it's gonna leave with me when I do. If there's a camera up in here, then I'd best not catch this flick on YouTube. And nobody listened."

Re: Honey I shrunk the fanbase (75,530) (75,540)
by RibbonB from USA

Fans come and go, always have. Things change. The dramatic entrances and exits are sometimes more about making that fan feel better. But some critical things are the die hards, who have become apathetic and or just tired of the antics. Number of fans don't relate to sales at all anymore, if ever. It's funny that on NC's newest vlog he said he quit IG because it was time consuming and made him no money. Perhaps Mariah and her teenage manager will finally come to that conclusion because the 12 year old fans have to get their older parents to buy their music and perfumes etc. Lol. I really don't get MW and the lies though, because that seems to have turned off a lot of people where even the die hards don't want to watch her actively make a fool of herself. The 12 year olds and the weak of mind seem to love it though. Lol sorry to members of this board who loved the show.
