Re: I actually like it (72,019) (72,026) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I agree with Mike. Andrew, you don't speak for anyone but yourself dude. Not here for your generalized delusion that you speak for all. I'm not even commenting on the song, I'm saying you don't speak for everyone. Obviously some people are vibe with the song because her label pushed it forward. Let people have their joy if they like the song.

"I Don't" my opinion (72,024) by Ardis Logic from Earth
It's alright. It sounds like one of those songs on the album that's added for filler. I don't really listen to today's music, so I can't really give compare it to what's out there. As someone who has listened to every single Mariah song that I could possibly get my hands on, this one goes on the very small list of songs that I will always "skip" over. I have no desire to hear it again.

Mariah did a live interview on Facebook (72,023) by Nikki from usa
It went viral within 1 hour. I had no idea there was a Lego Batman movie coming out, that MC is attending the premiere this weekend, or that she's playing the Mayor in it. Some good info in this interview. She prefers Slipping Away to Do You Think Of Me? Mariah wrote Alone in Love when she was 15. She's not making an album now. She's focusing on releasing singles and once there's enough singles she'll release an album. I guess that's one way to ensure a hit LP. Release a bunch of different songs until you find a sound the public meshes with and once you have enough, flesh out an album in that vain. MC said she's already working with a talented artist for a new song and all we know is this artist is a "him". She's cut another track with Roc n' Roe in it. "I Don't" is already in the top 5 in Asia. Although, I don't know what that means.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey previews video for new single I Don't (72,018) (72,022) by Edward from USA
Remember that, according to Stella and obviously endorsed by Mariah, they're catering to 12-year old girls. So the poses, and the clothes she's wearing are appropriate for the video.

Re: Empowered (72,015) (72,021) by Licia from USA
Yes Stella thinks empowerment is putting up the middle finger and showing your VaChina (I know how I spelled it grammar Nazis lol) every chance you get. If Banaka Tanaka show up in this video I'm just going to turn it off. His presence annoys me.

Re: I actually like it (72,014) (72,019) by Mike from FL, USA
Sorry Andrew, you can't speak for me. I do "actually like it" and I'm certainly not one of the delusional stans that worships everything MC does. Just letting you know your generalization is wrong. But I do see the irony in how bad it has become when the expectation is that any new music will be garbage or more of the same ol stuff of late. But what can I say, I really do actually like it, lol.

Article: Mariah Carey previews video for new single I Don't (72,018) by Robin Elkins from United States
I do like Mariah's song, I just wish she would put on something different than striper cloths. She is a mom and little kids are looking. She says she doesn't even get naked in bath tube with her kids. Mariah has a great body but she could tone down a bit.

I Don't (72,017) by Special K from USA
Hmm, I can't hate on it. I'm actually feeling the song. Got a nice vibe to it. YG stankin ass does absolutely nothing for the song. Ugh. It may play well on Adult Contemporary R&B stations out here in the US. So not looking forward to the video though.

Re: Full song listen (71,986) (72,016) by Licia from USA
I like to be fair when it comes to music. I initially didn't like the subject matter of the song and I thought I was being too harsh. After number 5 and hearing the song live I realized I judged the song correctly. Lol I don't hate I Don't. Those verses just throw me off. She doesn't sound good with those verses, but when goes into the chorus it's better. YG is just blah and doesn't fit.

Empowered (72,015) by RibbonB from USA
Stella's definition of a women's empowerment song is vastly different from my own. Unless giving the finger and posing provocatively is empowering I don't see it. The Donnell Jones portion of the song is the only thing that makes sense. Mariah does sound good in parts of the song though, but her lyrics have no depth. Donnell's song was at least an honest story about breaking up vs. cheating. Well here is hoping the video is not too bad, but somehow I think the hired hand may make an appearance, thereby making it even more corny and inappropriate. That's the way it seems to be going. If it does go that way then I hope she puts a ball gag in his mouth at least and a lap dog collar. Just go all in with the "empowerment" theme if she must.

Re: I actually like it (72,000) (72,014) by Andrew from UK
Anyone who says they "actually" like it is, probably, ironically, stating how shit it is. Mariah should embarrassed and ashamed. It seems that the non-delusional fans are. But then I think it's safe to say that Mariah doesn't feel shame and embarrassment or she'd have given up long ago. She has, undoubtedly, become a hot mess and pretty much ruined a once proud career. If I was Nick I'd go after full custody. She's clearly got mental health problems she does nothing to address.

I Don't (72,013) by Jono from USA
It has potential to be an urban hit, but it certainly won't hit mainstream success. To me this is more of an album filler, not single material. At this point I'm going to sound like a broken record, but they really dropped the ball with "You Don't Know What To Do". To this day, I know non fans who absolutely love that song anytime I play it. That could have been a bonafide smash.

"But it sounds more like a song on a remix cd." I can see that connection. Better that than released as a single.

He sounds a mess. His "rap" adds nothing to the song and is just terrible.

I Don't (my first impression) (72,009) by Terna from Nigeria
The beat is hard, a plus for me already, somewhere in the song I get Rihanna's "Needed me" verses flow, but then it gravitates towards the chorus which in my opinion is the strongest part of the song. I love the I don't scream at the end though. All in all, it's a well put together slow jam and will be an urban radio hit. 19th number 1? Far fetched. YJ needs to hush though he ruins it with that "I know you love me" noise. I still like the song though but come harder Mimi. I'm rooting for you.

Re: Not getting my $$ (72,004) (72,008) by MusicfanJ from Germany
What Mariah released in 97 was just wonderful music. She sounded fantastic and I love the lyrics so much from that time. That was Mariah Carey, with a new fresh sound but still Mariah Carey. I miss the time, where I was "addicted" to every new song. What I can't understand is that "I don't" get released as a single and "Meteorite" wasn't.

Yes, I agree the male background vocals are the only redeeming part of this song.

Re: I actually like it (72,000) (72,006) by May from Denmark
Yes, I thought the same, the chorus is very catchy. For some reason, you know when you hear something that later plays on your head a thousand times and you just want to die because it ain't going nowhere, well guess YG drilled that "you know you love me, you just don't trust me, you don't understand me" part haha, why that part only, why? I think the song might have a chance of doing good in the charts.

"I don't" hate it but "I don't" love it either. Time to hire some new and fresh collaborators Mariah, this will not work out for you, go innovate your sound.

Not getting my $$ (72,004) by G.G. from USA
Yet another Mariah music project I won't be buying. If someone would have told me back in 1997 that Mariah would put out music that I wouldn't buy, I would have laughed in their face.

I Don't (72,003) by B from USA
Mariah is in desperate need of new collaborators. I like the new song but I don't think it's worthy of being a single and the video is Madonna-esque. It does take more than one listen before it works itself into your brain. It isn't as memorable or infectious as Touch My Body but it is stronger than Infinity and Infamous.

I started to like it after a second listen (72,001) by Critter from USA
I don't know what else people expect. For me the depth of the lyrics is on par with any radio hits at the moment. And I didn't immediately like it but the hook part just sticks after first listen. I started to like it after a second listen (even though probably not Billboard top 20 material). I don't, it clearly is the opposite of I do as often said in a wedding. So it makes a lot more sense to me than I can't (suggested by someone). Cheers.
