O Screaming London Lamb (71,628) by Andrew from UK
I tried listening to Charmbracelet again; some songs are okay. But the soft cooing on every song is too much to bear. It's like trying to watch a full episode of Mariah's World without vomiting blood. Well, I jest. But it's funny how listening to an old Mariah album all the way through can make you feel like you did in the period of your life during which it was released. For me it is, anyway. All the thoughts and feelings I had at that time of my life came flooding back, memories of the people I knew well back then but have long since drifted from, the grotty place I lived in, the person I tried hard to love but dumped (in, um, Paris). I guess it's because I never really listen to it. I suppose when you listen to an artist so much, and follow them so closely in your life, that they pretty much score it. Tonight, I was thinking of those years again and I thought I'd see if anything of the London leg of Charmbracelet tour was on YouTube because I was there, and it turns out that this is. Complete timewarp. And I'm posting it because 1) I can. 2) It's pretty good. But mainly 3) Because of the intro. Mariah: "Anybody out there tonight reaching for a dream?" Screaming London Lamb: "Yeeeeesssss." Mariah: "Then this is for you. And you. And you." [pause] Screaming London Lamb: "And meeeeeeeee!" (Really do need the extra letters and the exclamation marks there.) So, if you're out there, Screaming London Lamb, in whatever place the world has taken you to since those many years ago when we were in that same arena together, it was most definitely for you. I hope you Made It Happen. You just absolutely made my night.

She was so animated and honest here. This is the artist as a true legend. I like how she glazed over the question about her vocal deterioration however - clearly not comfortable talking about it.

Re: JD tweet (71,616) (71,626) by Licia from USA
I hope JD is right this time. That was my whole issue with Triumphant. Rick's rap didn't fit the theme of the song. Meeks rap was way better and what he rapped about made sense with the song. If she would have left Rick off or his lyrics had been better Triumphant would have been much more enjoyable. Also if she would have made a non rap version of the original and just used meek and Rick for the remix (like she used to do) more fans would have been happy. I believe that's why all her collaborations from back in the day worked. We got a regular, a rap remix, and a dance mix. That pretty much gave her whole fanbase something they wanted. Also she just didn't copy and paste raps or vocals in.

Over and over again (71,625) by George Golden from UK
Please if she doesn't change her sound and do something seriously uptempo it will flop big time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome each time. Those silly rap midtempo tracks is just really lame at this point.

Re: Mariah Wonderwall (71,622) (71,624) by Andrew from UK
"Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you." I see another plagiarism suit coming up. But you do know what that song she is singing was. Right?

Re: New song (71,621) (71,623) by Norman from USA
This is at least a glimmer of hope that the vocals weren't rushed. What remains to be seen is how well YG is incorporated into the song and how they gel within it. Thanks for the update.

Mariah Wonderwall (71,622) by Luke from United Kingdom
I know this is random but I saw a Mariah fanpage post this video on Instagram the other day and I thought the song she was singing was Wonderwall by Oasis. When I listened to it again I knew it wasn't because the lyrics were different but I then imagined her singing it and how amazing it would be. Especially in that same tone. I don't know why she doesn't sing like that more often, it sounds so emotional and pleasing to the ears.

New song (71,621) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
According to Shawn (Mariah's nephew) this new song that will preview on Sunday was recorded mostly during her time in Capri and completed on Sunday but he is not sure if things regarding the song has changed since he first heard it the rough cut in Capri. Regarding JD's tweet I take everything as I will judge for myself and come to my opinion regarding said song. I am kind of nervous but excited to hear what MC has been up to musically lately as all we have heard in recent times is more of the back catalogue.

Her finances were taken over by a member of the Bulochnikov family. Both her accounts and legal sides. I do hope though that she personally keeps an eye on her finances.

Re: New music video (71,614) (71,618) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This will probably be a "in studio" video like OSD or "Angels Cry". Also #Beautiful was almost completely shot in front of a green screen so that explains the long post production process.

JD tweet (71,616) by RibbonB from USA
So, JD tweeted that this new MC record is hard. Not sure if he has much credibility, but that is his opinion. He said TAOLG was the new VOL. Not quite. I just hope the song makes sense lyrically and that the rap fits the song. Triumphant was all off because Rick Ross's lyrics made no sense to the song and Meek Mill's verse was a little better. Hopefully Mariah is more than a feature on her own song.

Re: Great interview / early 2010s (71,606) (71,615) by RibbonB from USA
Yes, that is a really great interview. She had a lot of good warm moments during that era. I miss that Mariah, more grounded, humble, thankful. Now she is being that kind of "boss" she said she never wanted to be. So glad she has Roc and Roe and I hope they don't become too jaded as they grow older and are exposed to the realities of life.

New music video (71,614) by T from USA
Considering #Beautiful took two full days and over three weeks of post production to complete I'm a little worried about this one being done with a recording the whole song in 24 hours. Auld Lang Syn video comes to mind.

Article: Singer Mariah Carey's net worth seems like a fantasy (71,612) by RibbonB from USA
Lots of shade in this piece. I do hope she has an outside accounting firm with lots of financial backing reviewing her finances, especially since Crusterellas involvement

Video preview (71,605) (71,611) by RibbonB from USA
Mollie L. I think Mariah was out to dinner with the whole crew including Crustella Blusherella. Maybe they will all be in the video for posterity. MC will break out in a C-walk upsetting YG who reps Bompton, she puts on the ring to represent her short engagement, then she ends up on a beach in Hawaii with the Help singing girl-power as she rides on his back, therefore popping his patella once again. The video ends with her driving off on a jet-ski to her air BnB to ride off into the sunset with Roc and Roe. Crustella Blusherella is screaming and filming it all for her IG post. The end.

Re: The rap game (71,597) (71,610) by May from Denmark
Since Gucci Mane for Obsessed I feel that all she has been doing is help this guys by featuring them and not really caring any reason as to why there's got to be some hip hop in her songs. Some of the stuff that has been sang in her songs lately don't even got anything to do with what she is singing and generally they say the exact same thing. She needs to find them more creative at least, and not just try to launch them into fame. Gucci Mane went to mug people and do jail time after Obsessed, come on. Mariah can do better I'm sure. I was hoping for no more hip hop, I thought YDKWTD and Meteorite were fantastic pieces. The hip hop game is being done by everyone anyway and it has been slowly decreasing and fading if anyone has noticed. It won't take long until it goes back in the drawer. I don't have high hopes but I'm surely expecting it to have some meaningful lyrics and not any more Doritos and would have loved to say no more beach/water shots but that's what we will probably get, judging by the Tanaka snippets? Better to just think of it as a mysterious thing until Sunday. Let's recall her last feat. was for Empire, then again it was a tv show song but please no more auto tune. That would be it haha.

New song/video, 50/50 feeling (71,609) by Leito from USA
I'm kinda blah, on hearing, new material will be released. Especially reading, "They started recording on Saturday, and within 24 hours, they also wrapped on the music video." This kinda sounds rushed. Let's face it, more than of few of her videos have been lackluster. I can't take another "strike a pose and try hard to be sexy" video. I can't take another video of her singing on a stage, and no more on a beach. People need something new and not so predictable. There have been so many missed opportunities on single release and video concepts. MC is missing the creative in her creative team. My thoughts and prayers are on this new release, lol.

Re: I think you're a [censored] (71,605) (71,608) by ADAM from USA
I have very low expectations for the new song. I feel like it will be similar to Infinity the remix. She clearly wants to continue making her vein of songs in the Rap and RnB style similar to Thristy and Triumphant. I'm so over her being a feature on her own songs. I think she does this over and over because she likes the music and also because her voice is in terrible condition so its less noticeable when there's autotune on a hot beat and with a hard thug rap verse attached.

Now Edward you know a few will start crying in a minute because they don't realize it's jokes. You have to put lol at the end so they will get it.

Great interview / early 2010s (71,606) by Billy from Greece
Remember this? Just under a year after she had given birth I think. She's so sweet here. Not sure the Toure guy is very much of a fan, but you can she sort of won him over with her personality.

Re: I think you're a [censored] (71,602) (71,605) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think we can safely assume she's be wearing a fishnet and corset in the video because she was seen only wearing a corset and fishnet under her trench coat when she stepped out for dinner with YG, which apparently happened right after they recorded the song and shot the video haha. Also did you notice the ring is back? As in the Packer ring.

Lol, Mollie L. and Edward with the alternate facts. That's how it's done these days. "Triumphamousinity" will be the next "Hotline Bling" with Mariah busting a move in her fishnets and lingerie.

Break up anthem (71,601) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'd like this to be more like BGK, "Side Effecs", "Thanx 4 Nothin" than "Infinity" or "Thirsty". Heck, I'd love another song like SIO too, with a catchy chorus that you can sing along too. As much as I love TAOLG, I don't think it'll work for her right now. I hope they make an effort to give this a proper roll out and release the video soon after or with the audio, unlike "Infinity". During "Infinity" both MC and Brett gushed about how they have an epic music video and there were all these leaked stories about it having actions sequences and involving helicopters and what not, then it turned into a messy video. In fact they said they had the video ready and would release it with the audio but then after the audio release they said the video was not even filmed and the rest is history. Try and make and effort to have this song have some impact and get some recognition, don't just leave it mid way and then later chalk it up as a song "just for the lambs" or a song "just for MW".
