Maybe we can contact Nick Cannon (70,888)
by DreamLove from USA
| |
|
|
I was thinking about how we can reach Mariah Carey to tell her how we feel about her manager/team. We know we can't say anything to her via social media because Stella has all of that on lock and probably all the fan letters too. I know Nick Cannon might not have direct access to his stuff but enough letters/messages might make its way to him and he might say something to her (maybe). Should we write Brett Ratner, Randy Jackson, Da Brat? What as fans can we do to get our message across about Stella? Any suggestions?

Tommy vs Stella (70,887)
by tadatorao from japan

Mariah has claimed for years that Tommy has controlled and imprisoned her. I hope she would soon realize Stella is doing the same to her, just on a more abusive, hyprocritic and devastating level.

After reading Tommy's statemen I can't get Subtle Invitation out of my head. Tommy is making Mariah a subtle invitation "If she hurts you or misleads you all you need to do is call me." And part about Stella is "She's a damn fool."

Trending (70,885)
by G.G. from USA

With all the backlash Stella is getting right now for her unprofessional, self serving behaviour, this is the time to make it happen. We need to get #firestella trending on Twitter and Instagram. Maybe, making a well publicized fuss about Stella at this specific time will open Mariah's eyes.

Mariah Carey's legacy in critical condition (70,884)
by Jono from USA
| |
|
|
I've allowed a few days since the debacle to process my thoughts. But basically I have this to say: not just her career, but her legacy is in critical condition. When Mariah had issues in the past, whether they be personal or professional, there was never a doubt that she couldn't sing. All it took was that one hit or performance for people to remember what she could do. But now, the very thing that made her famous is now the very thing that is destroying her. The irony is apparent. She has reached a crossroads in her life where she decides which direction to go. If anyone finds the humble girl who put her music above everything else, please let her know she is dearly missed. I just want to leave this right here, which is interesting considering where we are now with her.

Stella hungry for fame article (70,882)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|

Haha I wonder who Page Six spoke to. Danielle? Anthony? Funny how it says exactly what we have been saying and speculating. She's in too deep with Stella. Ribbon I totally agree to keep Stella to manage Mariah's tv/movie projects and get someone else for music (though it seems like she wants to take a break from it for now and focus on these other projects which frankly she has been talking about pre Stella).

Where will she go from here? (70,880)
by Tijl from Belgium
| |
|
|
After a truly fantastic celebration of the New Year there was definite backlash upon reading what had happened across the Atlantic. Both cringeworthy and tragic, the NYE incident is exactly what needed to happen to Mariah, especially since she didn't take a lesson from the Rockefeller performance two years earlier. I honestly adore and love this woman but over the last year my admiration has cooled down considerably as her attributions have been focused merely on sideprojects than on music, the latest tour as an exception. The reactions in the media are blown out of proportion as I do believe there have been technical mishaps on stage that night. However her reputation is now completely covered with - glittery - mud if not shot to hell. My thoughts are with her and I pray she will make some much needed and intelligent decisions to save and redeem her career. Mariah, I beg you: - Get rid of the Russian general as she is not considering your career but merely hers. - Take some time off and step away from endorsements, don't do interviews or anything. Get under the radar and build up some mystery and prepare for a truly amazing comeback. - Get back to your inner soul and do what you do best: writing inspirational music that you sing from from the heart. - Become the butterfly you are and understand how beautiful you are. No need to give up the ensembles but dahling you would blow everybody away in some proper couture. I enjoy ya, appreciate ya and luv ya but Mimi, it's time for a real emancipation.

Dear webmaster, just for fun, I ask you to confirm or deny only. Do the Stella defenders have US IPs? It's getting more and more bizarre how they kiss each other's behinds. [Webmaster: I know their ip-numbers, but I don't know where they come from. I was thinking the same. Maybe I should have a new emoticon of kissing asses.]

You are so right, Stella yes defends her but with such a bad manner that sometimes would be better not to. Mariah in the past was always keeping it classy as well her reps. Now Stella goes out all furious or upset talking in a way that ends up being embarassing and definetely not respectable. She talks more like an desperate housewife with low class than then manager of one of the greatest and most succesful artists, a living legend, that she should. But Mariah seems to trust her blindly. Hopefully she will realize soon.

I was watching a TV-special about the 90ies. Mariah was praised for that period. The last comment was that now she's only known for being a diva and that James Packer "debacle". Mariah is too precious as a "brand" and too talented for that horrible management she has now. Like Bill on this board said, just watch the Daydream tour, listen to her best songs, the remixes, her whole music catalogue and then take a look at the reality show created by Stella. It's unbelievable, like a nightmare. I have never seen a person less professional. (The vulgar comments from her.) I was shocked. If that is Mariah's goal: bravo. Mariah's career is too big and unique to get to this level. I wish Mariah would think about the comment from Tommy. What must happen that she is realizing something has to change? We love Mariah and that's the reason we all care and want the best things to happen. I'm so fed up with the latest "headlines". And with the circus MC is surrounded with. I have to calm down but Mr. Mottola hit the nerve. To quote MC: I still believe that every after storm a rainbow appears. Well it's a big storm.

Never liked Tommy and sure Mariah had suffered next to him, but apart from their personal relationship he knows the bussines inside out and sure he admires Mariah. I don't think that at this point he likes seeing her suffer through that mess and in his message he is actually supporting her and defending her he is just stating the obvious. This could happen to anyone but an artist like Mariah should have a team that would minimize the chances and be able to protect her. All those months Mariah has been unprotected whenever something goes wrong she stayes exposed. Her team (Stella and co) should have made sure that the tech part is on point or even push to cut for commercial or even after to deal with the crisis and a mess in a more respectable way and not with statements against DC including the F word etc etc. But we are talking about the same team that let here be late on a concert because they didnt know the time differance. Her public image hasn't been protected and definitely her integrity has been even more damaged since Stella, because she seems either not to know how to deal with or she just belives that all those gossip and cheap publicity is good but Mariah is not Kim Kardashian or a new artist that needs that kind of exposure. She went to Sony and they made some great moves to restore her image and then Stella came to let her exposed to the media so they can cut her in peaced every second week. So yes Tommy is saying just the obvious Mariah deserves a team of professionals not a kindergarden.

Mariah the psychic (70,873)
by Lara from Middle East

Some of her songs' lyrics are kind of psychic. "You're so Cold" could work for Tommy , "Love story" with Nick, "Thirsty" for Stella and Tanaka, "Clown" for her actual self. Let me know if you have other suggestions.

Nick and Mariah are friends, and seem to be co-parenting very well. Only they know what happened between them, the rest is pure speculation. Mariah wasn't a damsel in distress when Nick met her, she was a grown ass woman, even older than Nick and very well seasoned. Listening to his version of the way they were when they were a couple is as interesting as listening to Mariah and her alleged diss songs. The truth is usually right in the middle. So, there's nobody to demonize here, they got into it, they were happily married for six years, and they ended it. It takes two to tango.

Nick caught Mariah in her insecure moment and abused her. I don't say it's the universal truth. That is what my experience is telling me. I wanted to say more, but I don't want to talk about another artist.

Bright side (70,869)
by RibbonB from USA
| |

If TM helps the bulk of the fans who were Stella supporters flip to what many of us have been saying, then his public message will have done some good. The only thing that will work is if fans converge in some sort of unity around Mariah, not Stella like many have been doing. This mess has always been destined for no good, but many supported it blindly. Stella has never been right, or built to manage Mariah and Randy Jackson saw that and as Lee Daniels said sometimes geniuses need to be saved from themselves. I have never liked how Wendy Williams treated Mariah in the past, but even she has been spot on all year about this stuff. Stella has gotten her launching pad, now she will have to sink or swim. M. can make it, but she will have to cut the lifeline she has been giving to Stella and crew at some point.

Is Mariah having a midlife crisis? (70,868)
by Cgee54 from Usa
| |
|

I'm afraid Mariah may be having a midlife crisis. Think about body suits, younger man (still don't buy that relationship), ageism, and vocal problems. I don't blame, her many people will go through a midlife crisis but luckily most of us won't live ours through cameras. I'm hoping she will get through this and realize her mistakes and get it together.

Tommy has a point (70,867)
by Mirage from Unicornatopia
| |
|
|
We all know Tommy is speaking the truth. The fact that he is even commenting is telling as to a) how bad Stella is, b) the fact that he genuinely believes something is wrong, and c) the fact that he clearly thinks Mariah is damaging a career that both he and she built. Tommy very rarely comments on Mariah, and was very complimentary of her in his book. If it was not Tommy, and was LA Reid making this statement, everyone would agree with what he has said. Say what you want about Tommy, but he is brilliant at what he does. I think we as Mariah fans may need to get a petition started to get rid of Stella. She is a disgusting, trashy, thirst bucket, and is not befitting of managing a pig in a travelling circus, let alone Mariah Carey.

Re: Tommy Mottola (70,849) (70,866)
by Bill from the UK

Tommy's statement was genius of course, but then he is a genius mind. If anything it serves as a reminder to all who may have forgotten that her most successful period was under his guidance. There is probably an element of guilt associated with it too. He must look at the Mariah of today and realise he set her down that path because of his overbearing nature when they were married. The irony in Stella's response, insulting him because of his age etc., just further helped to prove his point though about the type of people MC has chosen to manage her career. Look, Stella clearly has Mariah's back and fends off who she deems to be haters and attackers and bad press, which is somewhat noble of her, but the manner in which she does it is just embarrassing and low rent. Mariah's established, revered and aspirational career is all but finished now, and that legacy she had is all but forgotten. No casual spectators know of the Daydream tour, the groundbreaking Fantasy remix, the spectacular live specials, the brilliant back catalogue of expertly crafted songs, the career defining approach to remixes. All she's known as now is a vain egocentric with an attitude who gets wheeled out every December to sing All I Want for Christmas Is You a few times, then gets hoisted back up to Mount Diva to hibernate for 11 months. That's the tragedy of this whole thing. We are literally watching the career she worked so hard to achieve slip through her hands, destroyed by her own doing. And Jesus was a cross maker.

Wise words (70,865)
by Jamie from UK
| |
|
|
I agree with Tommy, after all that's gone on he clearly still cares about her career path. He's right she needs to step back and think about what she wants to do. Yes she has been very successful, but she's loosing credibility with these things that keep happening. The voice is still there, when she sings acapella at concerts it's clear she can still sing. I think she should do a love songs album, something where she can show off her voice again with meaningful quality songs.

Stella ain't leaving (70,864)
by Carlos from Brazil
| |

|
So apparently there is a made for television movie about Mariah's life and career and (where is the drumroll) a second season for Mariah's World. The secret (so why tell it?) projects were discussed by our beloved Stella in an interview with ET. The movie seems an interesting idea but everything that comes from her current team seems tacky and destined to flop. Also the projects looks far from being related to new music.
