Re: Musically (66,131) (66,135) by Tameka walker from United states
I can hardly wait for new music. It has been way too long, I know she has kids and she needs to live a little and all in order to make something magical. I for one will be right in the store when her music comes out. I am really excited about it.

Re: Mariah is lost (66,126) (66,134) by Malcolm from Asia
Couldn't agree more. That "she has allowed everything she has worked so hard for go down the drain" sigh, it's so disappointing. If she wants all of this, then what else can we do right? At this point, I just wish her all the best and I will just be here waiting for her new music. I wish someday she realizes that it's not all about "glitz and glamour", "boobies and butt", and being a "diva" everytime because being normal, secured and having a respect for yourself will always win everything. Just try to forget being a celebrity for a while and think if these things are important for you and if the people surround you is being true to you and value you as a human being or they just go along with your antics. Go ahead, go to some place where you can relax and reflect, forget about us, focus on yourself and your kids, build strong relationships that will matter for the rest of your life. Patch things up with your siblings, be the bigger person and find ways how to make things work for all of you and visit your mother and take care of her while she's still there. Just forget about the charts, forget about being "relevant" in the eye of the world just for once and find herself because seriously if all of this are gone, I don't think she have that strong support system besides of her kids. That's the edge of her peers really, she maybe is the biggest-selling female artist of all time, broke records, but at the end of day, is she have a relationship with someone like Beyonce to Tina Knowles and Solange? Or Madonna to Debi Mazar? Or Rihanna to her family? Or JLo to her mother and siblings? I'm afraid she don't. They may "run the world" but when the limelight is gone, they can proudly say that they have these people who will always be there no matter what. Last time I saw a tweet that says like this "she can maybe shade JLo all she want but her family is messy, so yeah". Truth hurts.

Eternally 12 (66,133) by Randy from USA
I live for your posts Edward and you know I always have. Eternally 12 year olds don't post bathtub selfies with diamonds. Eternally 12 year olds don't get married for a third time. Eternally 12 year olds don't spin records with DJs in fishnets. I will say this though. MC had enough years of being miserable in the business. If this is who she is, then shame on us for buying into, not only Tommy's image, but her secondary image 97-15. But then again, she did say, "I'm quite the multi-faceted creature." I still believe, no song pun intended, really, serious MC will make a comeback. I mean she is 46 with kids and two divorces. We about to get a Through The Rain that is more Triumphant than That Chick Languishing.

Musically (66,131) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Musically right now everything is all over the place what is considered hot today is what is considered a fad tomorrow. All I want from Mariah with this new music is quality on all angles. To me Mimi is at her best when she has direction I do not mind her working with her go to people but rehashing what has already been done will not work, also creating material that she will have a hard time performing live will not work, another problem that can occur is if her image and attitude are not in order this new era will not work. What will work is Mariah singing great hooks, melodies, and keep things simple. Also working with different producers, co writers that will make MC work her talent as an singer/songwriter/producer.

I agree with this. I would also just add that when Mariah writes, she needs to not overthink it. Simplicity is the key. Her talent stands out when she keepa it simple. The fans want a more honest Mariah. One they can admire. We don't need hoochie Mariah. Leave her in 2016 please.

Mariah is lost (66,126) by Daydream327 from USA
I'm honestly embarrassed for her and have been for sometime now. It's not even just that she's nude in a bathtub on social media it's the fact that she has allowed everything she has worked so hard for go down the drain. The problem is Mariah has let the gimmicks completely overshadow her talent and accomplishments. And we all wonder why she'll never get the credit she deserves, because she clearly doesn't want it. Sadly she doesn't realize the gimmicks only make her look desperate and washed. Mariah does not carry herself like a legend. I wish she had at least one person around her that could be honest with her but unfortunately she's surrounded by nothing but "yes" people who only care about being on her payroll. Lambs are delusional and blind if they think Mariah's image isn't at an all time low right now. I mean Mariah is worth millions, why won't she just hire a stylist? There are looks that can be both sexy and classy. Her American Idol ensembles are a perfect example. If she can't run her own social media accounts why not find somebody who is actually qualified to run them and not a 12 year old? Somebody needs to snap her out of the little world she lives in and give her the whole truth.

Article: Mariah takes bubble bath in diamonds and nothing else (66,125) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Now this is beyond unnecessary - it's downright rubbing it in others' faces. Do you hear that? That's the collective "ugh" from disappointed fans around the world as they roll their eyes while sipping "normal people champagne" waiting for more worthwhile, music-related news.

Re: You can't have it both ways (66,118) (66,124) by Sarah from Netherlands
You do realize that if you mean what you say, about it being socially accepted to be a mom, a career woman, and a sexual being, it's (usually) up to a minority to actually make that possible and change the narrative? Unless of course you'd rather leave "well enough" alone and wait for others to pave the way. This by the way doesn't mean that I'm a huge fan of Mariah's method, but hey at least people are talking about it.

You can't have it both ways (66,118) (66,122) by Edward from USA
Marissa, I agree with you 100%. In perfect world, Mariah could be showing her nipples topless and it would be perfectly OK, but we're far from being in that utopic land. I love sexy Mariah, always have. When I first saw the Honey video, I was in awe of her beauty. There's a difference between sexy and trashy, but some people conveniently don't want to see it when it comes to Mariah. She claims her Mary Poppinsness (lol) at every chance she gets, and always claims to be eternally 12, then she turns offering her boobs for the next available hungry eyes at every chance she gets, not in a sexy way, but in a trashy way. If she doesn't care about what people think and about selling records anymore, then she should continue giving boobs left and right, but then she'll have to deal with the consequences. She's too damn talented to resort to stunts. Nobody is asking the woman to be a nun or not to show skin, just do it gracefully and leave something to the imagination. As someone said, those men peeping at her boobs won't be the ones buying her records.

Shea Taylor, who produced Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You from channel Orange, would be an excellent choice for Mariah to work with. I want songs with lyrics that are mature yet relatable like Breakdown, The Roof, Side Effects, Underneath The Stars, Looking In, and Outside.

Re: You can't have it both ways (66,115) (66,116) (66,118) by Marissa from USA
Don't get me wrong, I wish we could live in a world where we could have our cake and eat it too, but we don't. I don't think she shouldn't have respect because of her nudity, I'm just saying that in the world we live in, she won't get it. In this sexist world, women don't have the luxury of being able to constantly present themselves in a sexual way without being branded as a slut, even if it's not true. It's unfortunate but it's reality, and if someone isn't comfortable with the consequences (as MC clearly isn't when she wants to change the subject on any sexual topic and constantly clarify that she has slept with very few men), they shouldn't toe the line. My chest is the same size as MC's and although it's very easy for me to look porno I keep cleavage to a minimum because it is important to me to be seen as the intelligent, respectable woman that I am and, unfortunately, I know I wouldn't get that half as much if I dressed the way MC does. That's why it bothers me, because I know Mariah wants people to believe that she's prudish but at the same time she's giving them fodder to put her in the category of a loose woman and when people respond to what she puts out there she wants to play dumb and backpedal. She puts an image out there but isn't prepared to own it when shit hits the fan. If that's the case, why not just dress the way you claim you want to perceived in the first place rather than doing the opposite, only to end up backpedaling anyway? It doesn't make sense. So yes, she may want (caps) it both ways, but probably for another 30 years until this world changes its views on sexuality, she won't have it and the lambs will have to continue to defend the paradoxical and contradictory image that she's created.

But dahlin' the T-Pain "Candy Bling" remix has been out for years now. I think I heard it right around the time I heard the other remixes when they all leaked. The remix was nothing different from the original, as in it didn't have re-recorded vocals like some of the other remixes, it just had an extra verse by T-Pain. I don't know why it's not on YouTube, but see if this Daily Motion link works for you. By the way, was this really the tracklist? I saw one back when they announced it, but the one I saw doesn't completely match with some of the featured artists here. This could have been a good remix album.

Re: You can't have it both ways (66,115) (66,116) by Edouard from France
Hi, I understand what you mean. But, when you think about it, why couldn't she have it both ways? She's talented and incredibly beautiful. Why should nudity mean no respect? Nudity isn't dirty in itself and Mariah surely would never go too far. I think she can eat the cake too. As for Adele, remember that she is experiencing a very strong sales period in her career. Mariah's has experienced that from 1993 to 1999 with 6 albums (studio and other projects). That's incredible. I don't know if Adele comes back in 3 years with a new album that it will sell as good as her last 2 albums. We'll see. We'll see what kind of marketing ploy she'll have to imagine then. I too wish that Mariah could solely focus on the music, but we all know that it's not enough to create interest outside of the fan base. And when you think about it, Mariah has always had a personnal thing attached to the release of an album in order to create some kind of buzz: first album, first live show, first mariage, first hip-hop collab, divorce, freedom, emancipation, weight loss/good shape, new wedding, children. One could say that it's all marketing. I'm sure it is. But I also believe that Mariah shares her moments/transformations with the public because these elements of her life always shape the body of work she's releasing. It goes hand in hand for many artists. More especially for her, I believe. It actually means something to her.

You can't have it both ways (66,115) by Marissa from USA
Other celebrities have done worse but most of them are not even 1/4 as talented as Mariah, so stunts are the only hope they have for career survival. I don't flinch if I see JLo or Madonna doing something risque because vocally they don't have much to offer, so how else would they stay relevant? Mariah is one of the top 3 voices ever, which is why it's so disappointing to see her acting like she has nothing to offer but nudity. You can't just say that that is the price people have to pay in today's society for sales because look at Adele. She never wears anything risque and is one of the few artists that can still sell millions of albums in a world where everyone illegally downloads. There's no excuse. My issue is that MC wants to have her cake and eat it too, and send mixed messages to the world. One minute she wants everyone to respect her artistry, lyricism and take her seriously, but the next minute she's posing nude or half naked for "the gram". One minute she wants to stress her prudishness and how few partners she's had, the next minute she's showing up to the club with lingerie and taking booty selfies. Which is it, because fair or not, she's never going to be able to have 2 perceptions of her simultaneously. Lambs want Mariah to be exempt from being held accountable to the way she presents herself to the world. It's okay for Mariah to put out as many hypersexual photos as she wants, but the minute someone calls her a ho you're ready to fight? It's "fun" for MC to talk about being eternally 12 in every interview, but the minute someone sees her as ditzy and dumb instead of a deep songwriter you're ready to slash tires? You can't have it both ways. If you support the hypersexual behavior then you also support the consequences of her never getting as much respect as she has earned.

Oh yeah I know and I forgot to mention Obsessed with Gucci Mane. We heard most of it except the MJB one and R. Kelly collabo. I would actually love the hear the T. Pain Candy Bling remix though, not that it would have gone anywhere. Supposedly that one was to have used "Blame It". I wish they had not spoken so soon of a remix to the project which had just been released. That whole thing went wrong, even though there was some good music.

Beyonce gets all kinds of backlash throughout the web including cops threatening to boycott her tour. She just doesn't get discussed much on this Mariah Carey messageboard, as it should be. Lol. I do wish people would refrain from name calling and slurs though even when the pictures are appalling to some.

On no you didn't with the TMZ Mary video lol. I just hope our Mimi is ok and puts out some good music. I also hope she is enjoying being a mommy and that dem babies are well and good too. The other players can kick rocks with no sock for all I care. I like Nick too though and hope he will continue to be a good presence in their lives. They need more than an entourage can ever offer, that is for sure.
