Travon, I appreciate your humble apology. The best thing is that you grew out of everything that went on, and that's what counts. I think that your input on the board is always welcome. I know for certain you're a hardcore fan.

Re: [censored] Andrew (67,112) (67,117) by Randy from USA
TJ I don't agree with you necessarily but your experience in Norway may be different from my experience in Atlanta. I teach 11th grade English and my students definitely know who she is but they snicker when I bring her up as a crazy has been. When I introduce them to a lyric, they are surprised by her ability to write. My co workers all day the same thing, she can't sing anymore. As far as Andrew is concerned, no disrespect but you are way off the mark when you say MC can't act. The vunerablity that she pulled from to write Outside and your favorite song, Right To Dream (smile), is the same she vunerablity she pulled from on screen. I think she did what the Empire gig called for. But you can't look at her performances in Tennessee, Wisegirls, The Butler and Precious and say "she can't act at all".

Re: [censored] Andrew (67,100) (67,112) by TJ from Norway
Trying to be optimistic or positive won't save Mariah's career if she continues to surround her self with "yes people". Her career and reputation is not near the level it should be at, and unicorns, fairy dust or delusional fans (not talking about you) won't help her stay in the game, or at least on top of the game. She need to get her music and act together so most people will continue to buy her music (like in the 90's), or I guess no record company want her. Most people I know, don't know that she has recorded new music since 2005. That's not a good sign. Kids know Michael, Madonna and Whitney, but very few know who Mariah is. Let Andrew voice his opinion even if you guys don't agree (as long as he follow the rules of this board). Peace.

Have you ever read any of his posts? If he doesn't like her that's fine but his continued presence is not. He hasn't liked her or anything she's done in years. Besides no one bashed him. They simply asked valid questions like are you being paid to make these disparaging remarks. He was also called out for his obvious racism. If he offered constructive criticisms it wouldn't bother anyone but he doesn't.

Her appearance was a cameo and she slayed. She's proven herself as an actress with Wise Girls, Precious, and The Butler. She was awarded the Breakthrough Performance Award by The Palm Springs Film Festival. This is an excerpt of Variety's review of the film: "Among the many delightful surprises in the film is Mariah Carey, who is pitch-perfect as a welfare counselor and serves as this demi-tragedy's Greek chorus. It's possible that many viewers won't recognize her until the final credits, but like so many things about 'Push', the performance is disarming."

Message to everyone (67,106) by TRAVON AUSTIN from United States
Hey everyone. This Is Travon Austin. I wanted to personally apologize to anyone that I have upset while I was posting here many months ago. I was consumed with anger and upset with those that became upset with me. That was no excuse for my actions. I am a very bright and rational person in nature. I do not like negativity and I tend to vent out of character when negative things happen. I feel that I did that here and for that reason, I apologize. It's been in my heart the last month or two to post this message and apologize. I currently have the strength to say that I am sorry. I apologize for saying a few bad things on UKMIX. I also apologize for being a bad example of a supportive lamb. There's a lot of people here that I really appreciate and I hope you all the best. I have not posted and I will not be posting here but I wanted to give all of you this message. If there is something positive that I can say from my heart, here it is: "It's better to be positive than to be negative. If negativity strikes it is not the weak at heart that is to blame and it's not the strong at will that is to fall but how we work together is how we rise. Accepting when we are wrong is fruitful and understanding when we are right is unnecessary. By our actions and our actions alone can peace take place and allow prosperity. Love makes all things great and allows us to give away our hearts." I wanted to give you all my heart today and I truly thank all of you for every experience I learned here good or bad. Love you all and God bless you.

Give the guy a break (67,105) by Todd from Sydney, Australia
Come on people, it's a message board. Lives are not as risk here. People are allowed to voice opinions that don't match yours. Opinions are subjective and the (at times) vastly different point of views on this board is what makes it so interesting. If everybody was holding hands and signing Kumbaya (or There's Got To Be A Way if you need an MC reference) this board would stink. From all the vomit it would induce.

Empire (67,102) by Giselle UrbanPoshBeauty from US of A
I really don't see the big deal or such drama it brings fans being on a prime time soap. I thought she did a good job and never looked better. Would love to see her come back as a love interest for Andre there was something there worth exploring. I'm loving the new empire song, I'm not feeling Jussie's auto tune part but it's a cute lil song, I bought it. I'm not understanding all the drama and unnecessary divadom from certain lambs.

Re: Lord forgive me (67,098) (67,101) by Marissa from USA
It's not even his opinions that bother me most of the time (aside from blatantly racist comments that never get filtered through the rule of "be nice or leave"). It's his delivery that is blatantly dehumanizing and disrespectful to Mariah. I'm tired of having to cut through the tantrums just to get to his points. A grown man (allegedly) should have the emotional intelligence to express himself without having to explode in every commentary. How is someone reacting to a guest appearance that they didn't like with the same level of rage as if they found out Mariah murdered her own kids with an axe? I refuse to believe that it's necessary to put up with his hissy fits just to get an honest review of Mariah's actions on here. There are so many people here who keep it real without having to talk about MC like she's a worthless piece of shit. He isn't giving tough love. He despises her and is verbally abusive. If you had a female friend who showed you texts of her boyfriend talking about her the way BDT talks about Mariah, wouldn't you tell her to run like hell, that person is mentally abusive? But yet because he doesn't know Mariah personally it's a-okay for him to talk about her like a dog? I'm not going to normalizing his behavior.

[censored] Andrew (67,100) by JAXGH from United States
All he ever send out is negative energy. Nothing he posts is positive. A lot of lambs try to be optimistic and hopeful for Mariah's career but all he does is nit pick and point out every thing that's wrong with Mimi. Some of these even influence others and so they end up saying [censored] up sh*t as well. We don't need it. Lambs to need unite and hold on to the magic they felt from Mariah's music. He makes good points but now it's just predictable that it's always going to be negative, hateful and detestable towards Mimi. I think the only time Andrew will be useful is when Mariah makes another Bianca interview. No one else is more perfect to write Bianca's script lmao.

All this Andrew bashing is unnecessary. Yes, he can be wildly inappropriate, but he also makes statements that are true at times, that not many have the guts to utter. The best thing to do is just ignore him if you don't agree with his posts.

Andrew (67,096) by Michael from Edwards
The UK has very bad weather and it rains very often. I guess that is why he is always grumpy and comes across as bitter and a compulsive criticizer. He thinks that we are impressed with his use of the English language but in fact his posts make him look so pathetic and desperate for attention. Mariah don't need fans like him because he is a fake fan. Once he posted that he would like Mariah to hire him as her manager but the troll also admitted that he does not know how to use Facebook or any social media. So this puts 13 year old Mishka in a better position since she at least knows how to use social media. Given his bitterness and constant complaining, I am sure we will see him on an episode of Nightmare Neighbour Next Door.

Empire (67,094) by 123 from USA
Even though she was on very briefly, I liked her parts. I thought her acting had improved greatly and she came off very natural and convincing as Kitty. I've read that they are thinking of bringing her character back later in the story line. I didn't really care for the song as it seems to lack a chorus but it seems it was created solely for the scene and really came alive. From the reasoning behind the auto tune on the song and Jussie finally not sounding like a struggling billy goat who insists on singing in his falsetto which is the worst part of his voice imo. Thank you Mariah for vocally producing him. They overhyped her appearance and her character's purpose for ratings, but with all the positive responses by watchers of the show, I think they will bring her back and give her an actual story line instead this brief cameo. To me, Wise Girls will always be her best role and proved to me that she can actually act. She needs gritty roles she can sink her teeth into.

Re: Quote unquote "blue eyed soul" (67,089) (67,092) by RibbonB from USA
Notice how Mariah is not on this list. This is a list of notable blue-eyed soul artists. Blue-eyed soul (also known as white soul) is soul music or rhythm and blues performed by white artists. From Wikipedia, nor does she fit the definition, in addition, artists have been making this music every year since the genre was created, so if she were on it, she wouldn't be bringing anything back. Plus TAOLG is wack. Lol. But I see what you're trying to do.

Internet troll from the London Bridge (67,091) by 123 from USA
"A troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement." I'm glad everyone else is noticing what I've been saying for a long time. It's time to finally banish it from this fan site once and for all. It's time to take our fan board back and let it starve. The UK Mix bans these people from their Mariah page, the same needs to be done here.

Re: Dear Andrew (67,086) (67,090) by G.G. from USA
It speaks volumes about his lack of a social life. He obviously hates Mariah, yet spends a great deal of time writing long, racist, bigoted, dissertations. Why give that much energy to someone you hate? He obviously thrives on negative energy and attention. Whilst, whence, forelorn, and a bunch of other words that are barely even words anymore.

Quote unquote "blue eyed soul" (67,089) by Edouard from France
I find it interesting how Mariah's "The art of letting" was very trying to bring back the "blue eyed soul". Some fans didn't know what to do with the song. I always felt like it was reminiscent of "Stop" by Sam Brown (released in 1989) and that most of us know better from Jamalia's cover (from the Bridget Jones' soundtrack 2004). When you think about it, Selena Gomez released this year "Same old love", Britney Spears has a few blue eyed soul numbers on her latest album, and JoJo's (I love her) new track "Mad Love" is also very blue eyed soul. One again Mariah's ahead of her time.
