Re: I have a new appreciation for So Blessed (67,251) (67,267)

I play So Blessed all the time, I adore that song. I did listen to There Goes My Heart after years of not playing it and had a similar feeling. I love that song. It sounds like it was recorded on a beach or something.

I will however add that Beyonce takes risks with her music. She tries a lot of different things which pays off most of the times although sometimes it doesn't. But that's a gamble that one needs to engage in. Mariah used to take risks earlier in her career whereby she started new trends and popularized some trends that were already existing but not that popular. But after a point she stopped doing that and stuck to her formula which is funny because she used to complain earlier in her career how the music label would want her to always stick to a formula and she would have to fight them to deviate from it. But overall Mariah is a songwriter through and through, and a really great one at that. She really knows how to pen good songs, while Beyonce is not a songwriter but she makes clever decisions about songs she records by hiring hot producers and collaborators.

Yes Licia I know what you mean. The last few days I rediscovered the whole Emotions album with its beautiful songs. Sometimes I have a phase I don't listen to certain songs or an album and then I think oh you should listen to that, it's been a long time and it's amazing. And I do switch between the "old songs" and "new" very often, it belongs to my mood. "So blessed" is really beautiful. When she sings: I stay with you beyond the end. Love it.

I don't understand the need for her to get fillers. I mean her face is naturally in good condition and she seems to sometimes go a little overboard on the fillers which closes up her eyes. She really should just let it be. Using fillers for no reason will stretch out her skin and then she'll end up needing them more when she grows older.

Yes, I think most of her fans love classy Mariah. Wendy Williams is not known here. But for me the things she said are not so bad. I still don't know what to think about JP, it's not my business. Although her man choices (can you say said) were always a bit.

Even with a room full of songwriters she hasn't released a decent song since Halo. She's not that special. Janet's a better dancer, Madonna's a better performer, and Mariah's a better vocalist (with her current voice).

Again great thoughts Marissa. For me it makes Mariah more "elusive" without those insta-pics as you mentioned. But I do hope that personally she's fine too. We all know life's not easy especially if something is going on in the private life. Sorry doesn't belong to this topic but I love when Mariah sang "We are lambily" it always makes me smile when I see it on YouTube. I would buy this version on cd.

Do You Think of Me (67,260)

Mariah has got to give this song a chance. This song came out in 1993 but doesn't sound dated at all. She needs to re-record this song, maybe add more modern twists to it but let it stay to its original structure. I think it would be amazing.

It'll be a combination of lipo on the body and fillers in the face. Fillers usually take a while to settle down, so they're always puffier when you first have them done.

I thought most of the fillers people get nowadays are temporary. Kylie's lip fillers lasts about 6-8 months but never more than a year. If Mariah uses fillers, she has to stop and just wait for the fillers to be absorbed, don't fix what ain't broken.

Staying low before it's her show (67,257)
by Edouard from France

I think Mariah is enjoying some quite time until the continuation of the Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour in South America. She knows all the media's attention is focused on the elections at the moment. She knows what she's doing so that she can get all the attention needed for the release of Mariah's World in December. Smart choice.

Sia also mentioned how Beyonce does not write her own songs. She talked about how she gets a couple of writers together, say in a house, and they wrote several songs and she will come later and go from room to room approving or rejecting songs and also adding maybe a word or two (which honestly anyone can do) to the already completed songs.

They said the filler Kylie Jenner used on her lips was temporary. So I'd said whatever filler Mariah's used is temporary as well.

Beyonce a better songwriter than Mariah? (67,252)
by Sheila from United States

I am constantly shocked how [...] always gets a ton of award nominations, Neyo and the music industry has already said how she does "not" write her songs, she has principle songwriters and then she "adds" this or that or a word. Mariah writes all her legendary songs other than a remake here and there. Yet [...] who does not have the vocal ability or songwriting ability of a Mariah, gets all the award nominations. [...]

I have a new appreciation for So Blessed (67,251)

I haven't listened to this song in a while and it just popped up on my playlist. I've always liked it, but I never really realized how simple and beautiful it is. I would love for a new song kind of like this one. Do you all ever have those moments with certain songs you haven't heard in a while?

I don't see what she said as shade either. She's said a few things that I have felt since Mariah started hanging with JP. I've always felt she needed to slow down with the marriage business. I don't buy that she's getting married so quickly because of the children. Ribbon you are correct that not all fans love messy Mariah. I know I can't stand it sometimes.

Weight on the face (67,249)
by Malcolm from Asia

I'm just wondering, when will her face look like this? Her body is almost the same as she was in 2013 but her face is still has so much weight that seems disproportionate for her body, it's weird. Fillers are probably the case here so does anyone knows if it will be removed or something like that? Does her face will be permanently like that? Just a concerned fan because for me it's looks unnatural with or without the make up.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder (67,248)
by Marissa from USA

I actually find Mariah and co.'s absence from social media refreshing. I would much rather her take a break than make a fool of herself on Instagram. It reminds me of the days when Mariah really lived the lifestyle of an "elusive chanteuse". I hope she's just busy and not going through anything personally because I haven't seen any Mariah out-and-about sightings either. From a business standpoint though, the consistency needs to be stepped up when it comes to her social media. The radio silences last for so long that it looks like her social media efforts have been totally forgotten about, but then again I highly doubt that a 13 year old would have such a burning passion to consistently post on anyone's social media that isn't their own. This is why you either do it yourself or hire a professional.

A lot of the entries are legit, but this list lost some credibility as soon as I noticed that I Still Believe (Pure Imagination), H.A.T.E.U. Remix, and Dedicated were missing.

I'm sure she is mainly prepping for the next leg of SSF shows, but I wonder if Kim K's latest incident has been food for thought for M. and other wealthy folks on instagram. Flaunting wealth can be hazardous. Kim and crew did some careless mess, but no one deserves that kind of thing to happen. Another reason that M. should hire an adult, smart, experienced social media manager, or just do it herself on a minimal time delayed basis.

Even by treading the same musical ground since TEOM she already managed to alienate a lot of her fans mostly with her image and antics, so now I'm thinking maybe a more drastic sound shift won't really matter that much. If she falls flat on her face for it, then at least she tried something different.

I want to be surprised by her next album as well but if there is one thing that I want to expect from her is that Mariah Carey-The Weeknd collaboration. I'm all for it, I know they will deliver greatness together.
