Re: Butterfly (66,407) (66,411) by B from USA
2017 will be Butterfly's twentieth anniversary, right? 1997-2007-2017.

Re: Empire (66,408) (66,410) by B from USA
Is it the one included on The Remixes? If so I have. I meant she should have redone her vocals on the original and released it as a single.

25th Anniversary of "Emotions" (66,409) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Wow. Has it really been that long ago. Amazing. I absolutely adore that song. It's magical. Here is the video if anyone is feeling nostalgic.

Re: Empire (66,391) (66,408) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
But she did remix "The One" with re-sung vocals. The remix was amazing and more laid back. Mariah's vocals were great too. You should check it out if you didn't already.

Re: Butterfly (66,395) (66,407) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
All these cool ideas will only come from Mariah's fans. LA would just re-release it with a "Butterfly 12th Anniversary" in gold writing. If they do it, they should take the suggestions you made. But do they really re-release stuff for 12th anniversaries? Isn't it usually 10th or 20th or 25th? I could be wrong but I'm here for the ideas you mentioned. Butterfly is a timeless album. So many classic. I will forever be mad that the gorgeous "Breakdown" video didn't get the attention it deserves.

New single? (66,406) by 123 from USA
Mariah stating in an interview she hopes to have a new single out by the time she starts her SA leg of her tour. I will never trust the word "soon" to mean within the next six months lol. Maybe she is referring to the duet.

Re: The Rap Game (66,371) (66,405) by Haiji Toro from USA
Exactly. Queen Latifah has done it all since the beginning of her career. This woman is indeed an entrepreneur.

Super vocal series: It's Like That perfect climax (66,404) by 123 from USA
I love all the clips they collected of different parts of the climax she sang live. I need another hot uptempo that features a strong, but feasible lead live vocal from her with a great build. The beat is so sparse that her voice.

Honey live #1 To Infinity 6-25-16 (66,400) by 123 from USA
My favorite Honey performance this year. I loved how she changed the way she sang "running" at the 50 second mark. For someone who has been out since 1990, I still find it incredible that can still come up with new riffs and runs 25 years later. I need her to drop the pre-records that kick in at the bridge, she doesn't need to go for that G5 for the song to still sound good. Singing it live all the way through would really be a highlight the way she is sounding these days. Her tone was so good in June and I can't wait to hear what she recorded while she was in Vegas that month.

Re: The Rap Game (66,369) (66,399) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah did ok on the Rap Game. She seemed a little nervous or tired, but she seemed to like the kids' raps and that perked her up.

The Rap Game (66,398) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Really enjoyed Mariah's appearance on the rap game. Here is the full version for those interested. I love that she gave little inputs (for example how to handle the mic and many more). Also liked seeing what kind of rapper she prefers. Overall it was a cute moment. Here is a separate video with an intro not included in the first video. She seems to be recording something.

Re: Glitter debacle (66,373) (66,397) by 123 from USA
HI Tevin and Licia. Yes Ashanti admitted to singing the reference and they left the vocals. Here is the article. that came out recently where JLo's team admits about knowing Mariah already cleared the sample, JRule discussing how they had access to Tommy's private jet because he wanted the song done and video filmed all in one weekend, and Ashanti admitting she sang the reference. Watch this video as well where Ashanti reveals she was mad that Irv because he gave JLo I'm Real and sang the reference to I'm Real and they left her hook and backgrounds. It's Ashanti you hear on that song, not JLo. Watch at the 3 minute mark.

Webmaster (66,396) by Edward from USA
There are a couple of posters here whose messages are so edited out that most times is very difficult to decipher what they're talking about. I know you've made it clear many times about the rules, but they keep ignoring you. I don't see the point in posing their messages when all we see is a bunch of [...]. [Webmaster: Some like Sheila never learn, but I think it's too much to delete the message completely.]

Butterfly (66,395) by B from USA
I hope Mariah and LA are planning to re-release Butterfly to commemorate it's twentieth anniversary next year. If they do I hope they include a disc of every remix recorded during this era, new liner notes, a disc (DVD) with the music videos and live performances during this era (Butterfly on Letterman and My All on Saturday Night Live). They could also include concert footage from the Butterfly world tour. They should have re-released Mariah Carey and Daydream but they didn't unfortunately.

Emotions (66,394) by B from USA
Mariah Carey has had us feeling emotions for twenty five years. Emotions was released twenty five years ago today. Happy Anniversary, Emotions.

Musical genius: Butterfly (66,393) by Terna from Nigeria
Afterall is said and done this body of work proves why Mariah is considered one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. Butterfly is a hybrid merger of at least four distinct genres, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop and Dance music an almost near impossible feat to achieve all perfectly balanced but which paid off. This album made me a fan and I can comfortably say millions of others too. It's easily her most cohesive body of work and undoubtedly her most personal. 19 years later the music still sounds fresh, just like the first time I heard it. Thank you Mariah for following your heart. Respect.

Re: Empire (66,375) (66,391) by B from USA
Mariah's at her best when she writes songs like those. I'd add The One and Side Effects to the list. The One is my favorite song from Charmbracelet. I was excited when it was announced as the second single and disappointed when they decided to go with Boy (I Need You) instead. Imagine if she'd remixed The One with resung vocals.

Re: Article: Seriously, who is taking these sexy photos of Mariah? (66,379) (66,390) by B from USA
She was probably wearing panties and pasties courtesy of The House of Carey and Bulochnikov during the bathtub selfie session.

Re: Empire (66,383) (66,388) by B from USA
Rodney produced You're Mine (Eternal) which is one of Mariah's best ballads in years (however it was a poor choice as a single). If the song had been released in 2005 or 2008 it would have been a #1.

Re: Glitter debacle (66,377) (66,387) by B from USA
There are interviews on YouTube during which she discusses it. She was pissed that Irv gave Ain't It Funny to Jennifer.

Glitter debacle (66,386) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I'm Real remix was written by Ja Rule with Ashanti singing on the vocals and adding Jlo vocals on top of her and yes Ashanti has addressed along with "Ain't it funny" which Ashanti wrote for JLo.

Stella queen Of hashtags (66,385) by Martyn from England, UK
I've just spent that past 30 minutes stalking Stella's Instagram, and if I see the hashtag #EmpowerYourGirls one more time, I'm going to stick pins in my eyeballs. As for the "straight A's" photo she uploaded, I can't believe her daughter is in 7th grade. She looks like she has a mortgage, a successful business and three children. Stella needs to let her be a child, this pseudo-adult thing she's got going on (particularly all the photos of her drinking alcohol) is a little disturbing.

Re: Glitter debacle (66,373) (66,384) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Ashanti was very upset that she had to give the track that ended up as Ain't It Funny (Remix) to JLo. She co-wrote the song and wanted it to herself. She was kind of mad at Irv Gotti. I will try to find the article.

Re: Empire (66,374) (66,383) by Sheila from United States
Other than V. Bozman, Empire's music purely sucks. Please don't say [...] was a classic, it was not. Here's my issue, we don't need [...] horrible vocals on a track with the queen of music. However, Rodney Jerkins has [...] Beyonce, Janet, Mariah and Gospel music. Rodney Jerkins has the reputation of being a "real singers" producer. Lets see what he has cooked up.
