After hearing her live, I get her so much more, than I have for the last 25 years, she still has all her talent from the 90's, but she 45 now, I could see she tired 13 #1's in, which is totally ok. There was a bit more lipping after that, which is ok too. Two hours on stage would wreck anyone. Her voice was amazing. We were all stunned, she could easily release a 90's vocal style record if she wanted, but I accept now, thats just not her style now. It would be like asking us to wear clothes we worn in the 90's. Also the way she sings Hero, I'll Be There, etc, she has the talent to sing them in the same way as before, I think she's just sang them too much now, and can't put the love into them like before. Imagine singing the same song all the time for 23 years? Love her. Next concert for me in the UK next month. Bring on the new single. A very good era we're having, be thankful. LA Reid's sing to me book (59,991) by Terna from Nigeria I stumbled across a excerpt from his book about Mariah and the process of crafting the record we now know as The Emancipation Of Mimi. What a revealing read it was. That man is quite special, and knows music, and the music business. But most importantly he follows his heart or instincts as some of us would call it, a trait that proved very instrumental in the success of that album. Had Mariah not made that trip to Atlanta, ILT, SIO and most importantly We Belong Together might not ever have happened. Here's a lil part of it. "Something was bothering me. I didn’t want to say what I had to say, but I went ahead and said it with our glasses poised mid-toast. 'Guys, we’re not finished,' I said. They put their glasses down and looked at me incredulously. Art vs. statistics (59,990) by R&B Junkie from Poland First, I have to admit I am not a radio-listener, I rarely look for new songs on the mainstream charts and I do not read music magazines. Still, I am a music lover, and that's why I want to thank you all for showing me such a great song as Rihanna's "Work" is. I like the overall production of the song. Maybe it is not my favorite music style, I have to be honest, but it is a good song, it feels so good to know it exists. Does it deserve to go to #1? I don't know. I can name some MC's songs that, in my opinion, shouldn't have gone to the top of Hot 100 and name the other ones, which definitely should have reached #1 (e.g. It's Like That, Beautiful) but unfortunately they haven't, and my life isn't any kind of different (meaning worse) because of that. Please, stop hating Rihanna for achieving success. I guess some of you would want Billboard to end their chart with #2 spot, just to prevent other artists from beating Mariah's records. Records are to be broken. Worse statistics shouldn't be linked with worse art. I am truly satisfied by all the music Mariah has released in recent 10 (or more) years despite the minor commercial success. Peace and love, you all. (Wednesday 24 February 2016; 17:20)

Just look at how they're nodding everytime their host expresses an idiotic opinion as if it is a universal truth. Wendy Williams (59,984) by 123 from USA "She doesn't have 4 more hits in her soul." If she'd of heard her last album she'd be eating her words. YDKWTD, Faded, Meteorite, MILG. I hope this lights a fire under Mariah and she not only comes out with undeniable music (no more Infinity's), but she sings and promotes the hell out them like she did with the TEOM era. Her live voice is rebounding, she lost the weight, her personal life is on the upswing. Things are lining up for another great era, she just needs to do her part and get out there promote/sing a hot new song. No more of the fast sing/rap style she adopted from Bone, that's hard to execute live (WBT, TMB), an undeniable uptempo is what she needs to perform everywhere. I once read a post on YouTube that "Mariah is always one song away from another big hit". She is the only artist that I feel can do that 25 years into their career. She's only not had a #1 since TMB because she didn't promote and became a housewife, not because the material wasn't good enough, especially those last three albums. Number 1's obsessed? (59,983) by 123 from USA What is all this fuss about Rihanna getting another number 1? Is that all Mariah has become to her fans, the artist with the most number 1's? Sure she is marketed that way, I mean, who wouldn't if they currently hold the record, but I thought we all loved her because of her incomparable talent, singing, songwriting, producing songs for us, even 25 years after her debut. That doesn't happen for most artists. Mariah has a bunch of records that she still holds, and there have been several that have already been matched or broken. Adele's Hello matched Dreamlover as the fastest #1 on the Radio Songs chart, Katy Perry beat Mariah's record for most weeks at #1 on the Pop Song Radio Airplay Chart, Lady Gaga matched Mariah's record for most number 1's on the Pop Songs Radio Airplay chart. Does any of this make them any more talented, deserving? No. Most of these artist won't be relevant 25 years in their career. Congrats to Rihanna, her album is pretty good. I a lot of radio friendly songs. Very catchy. I wouldn't count Mariah out, I never thought TEOM would happen and it was like Mariah everywhere, everything, overtaking airwaves in the States. The Hating Game (59,982) by Edward from USA At this point if it's not Rihanna, who's always unshadingly praised Mariah, it will be Katy or Taylor. Of course I'm not happy her record is just five #1's away to be broken, but I don't feel any hatred towards Rihanna, nor will I put her down to put Mariah in a pedestal either. She's just hustling like everybody else. Remember many wanted our girl to fail when she was snatching wigs and causing irreversible baldness during the 90's when she was breaking records left and right. The faster we let go of the idea that Mariah is at the same level of popularity as the ones mentioned above, the happier and accepting we will be. I'm not a fan of Rihanna's nor do I think she's at Mariah's caliber, but she's definitely producing catchy music and videos people obviously like, let me make clear I never said she was producing quality music. Let's not count Rihanna out just like they did with our Mariah. We all saw this coming, but we were in denial. It actually took more time than expected, since Rihanna would've released three albums by now but instead she decided to go on a well-deserved vacation. I'm happy Mariah came out when concept albums were still around. Thanks to that we can sit here 20 years later and give a whole listen to Daydream or Butterfly without skipping any tracks. Mariah has an artistic body of work, but most current singers just have forgettable singles of the moment instead. I do listen to some Rihanna's songs at the gym, but that's it. Will I ever sit down to listen to any of her albums from beginning to end like I do any of Mariah's or Alanis'? I doubt it. One million downloads of Rihanna's album Anti were bought and gifted to fans by Samsung, but those downloads didn't count towards her position on Billboard Hot 200 albums, so she didn't cheat charts. If Mariah really wants to maintain a certain level of popularity as she once said, she's going have to up her game with decent concept videos and songs or it would be a big wrap for her. I stopped stressing about Mariah's voice, #1's, OSD 16 weeks record, and I think I appreciate her more for what she really is, a damn good singer, lyricist, and producer. Rihanna could have 30 #1's, but I'm pretty sure she won't ever have anything close to Daydream or Butterfly. #1's don't necessarily define artistry, especially nowadays. MC clearly likes him too to allow him to duet on one of her most popular songs worldwide (AIWFCIY). When Justin approached Mariah for his "Mistletoe" album, they were supposed to do a new song together. But Mariah told him she'd like him to re-record AIWFCIY with her. This woman is such a tease and she has already got me hyped. I hope this soon means soon though and not like the "soon" we got when she said MIAM will be released soon, or the video of "Why You Mad" haha which never saw the light of the day. The long wait for the last one was enough for me, over all with all the date changes and such. I wonder what kind of single she is putting together. After Infinity I can think of a million things that she can release being much better. If it's for summer do you think it will be an up-tempo jam, something to hit the club?. Ballads seems to be doing a come back, little by little but I would be surprised if she released such a thing. Can't wait to hear new material though, I bet she is really inspired. I have to speak on counting MC out (59,976) by Randy from USA Now you all know, I am the first one to criticize MCs live performances and the status of her voice post 1998. But let me be clear. Don't let a couple of flops fool you. When MC is on with her music she makes history honey, not just garners #1s. She doesn't need to chase a musical trend, changer her image her wardrobe or anything. As proven before, when MC has a scorcher on her hands, the game is over. Lip syncing and all. Remember when WBT went to #1? Her response was pretty much, "Why is everyone surprised?" I am telling you this now. Wendy Williams can say what she wants, MC has hits left in her, it's whether or not she is focused on that, or making the music she loves. (Wednesday 24 February 2016; 1:08)

MC viral performance (59,973) by Todd from Melbourne, Australia So today in my timehop app, Lady Gaga's Sound Of Music performance at the Oscars popped up as one year ago. Got me thinking - it would be fantastic for Mariah to do something this prolific. Singing a tribute to something/someone, no frills - just her and an orchestra. Nobody helping her to walk (if you can't walk unaided, wear sneakers), no ear piece dramas, no dress so constricting that she can't move - just Mariah lending her fantastic voice to something that everybody knows and adores. Of course, I don't want anyone to surpass her but we shouldn't be the ones obsessing, she should. It's her career. All of this "I don't know what you're talking about because I've been so absorbed in my music" bullshit she does needs to stop unless she wants someone to dethrone her. She can't afford to be unaware anymore. The lambily is constantly on red alert about #1s, but our fear is insignificant if she doesn't hit the studio quick. If she gives a damn about this 18 #1's marketing ploy as much as she acts like she does she better depart Planet Mariah, land on Earth and recognize that records are getting easier and easier to break. Rihanna will never come close to her artistry or musicianship. Surely Mariah can score more number ones and surpass The Beatles record. All she needs is great music, good videos and promotion.
