"Feeling myself" a duet with Beyonce? Could "voice" mean Mariah? And he says weak. Perhaps we can extrapolate he doesn't like it?

I Stella. Stella4eva. Slay, Stella, slay. Seriously, Mariah may come across as two monkeys short of a zoo sometimes but I'm sure on some days she's actually compos mentis. So some crew don't like Stella and call her names. I'm sure she loves them right back. This is actually trolling, no? You all be haters. Word.

LA Reid (61,280)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|
|
LA Reid was apparently smoking weed while listening to Rihanna's new album. Well that explains him green lighting "Infinity" as Mariah's comeback single (lol ok ok it's a little harsh, "Infinity" isn't a bad song, not just a strong single) and then "Ain't your mama" as JLo's new comeback single haha. I can't with L A Reid basically being out of it, listening to "Ain't your Mama" and saying "yes, yes this is exactly what we need to put out there and release as a single". Is this really the same man that told Mariah to go back and record more songs for TEOM? Because clearly he doesn't have the same music sense anymore. LA get your crap together.

i have almost 4 post diferent, small, directly and nice ones, but i can't see it here I can't hear you silence [Webmaster: As long as you don't follow my rules, your messages won't get posted. Maybe I have to explain it again: You have to start a sentence with a capital and end it with a dot. It's so simple. Also, it's "I" and not "i".]

Re: Old team vs new team (61,276) (61,278)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

While I agree Mariah's career is definitely in a better place right now than what it was say in 2014. But I will never understand why Stella gets credit for Mariah's tour being critically acclaimed and her confidence being back. I am not discounting Stella's work (although I would like a list of exactly what she got Mariah and what was already in the table before she came in because well we don't know for sure except for the reality series). But yes I will still consider that Stella is doing a lot for Mariah but I can't for the life of me understand why the tour's critical acclaim and Mariah's confidence is attributed to Stella. First of all the tour is being acclaimed because Mariah is putting up one heck of a show, it's not Stella singing there (or I might be watching a whole different tour lol). Secondly yes Mariah is confident now and yes she seems a lot happier now, but it's a little too far fetched to say she is the happiest she has ever been. Was she not happy during 2005-07 when she was basically wanted by everyone? Was she not happy in 2008 when she abandoned her career to try her luck at love? Was she not confident during her TAOM tour when she was super fierce. In 2008, was she not confident when she was rocking her killer body? Same for 2013. She is more confident now because she gets more confident every time she loses weight. Yes if we compare her current happiness to that of 2014 then for sure she is 200 times in a much better place. But 2014 wasn't just a mess because of her professional team, it was also a mess because Mariah had a semi breakdown because of what was going on in her personal life. Now that all that is in the past, she has found love again, she is happy and more confident. Gee dahlin' don't take this message personally. I am not attacking you, neither is it a direct reply to your message, I have just been seeing a lot of other fans really pushing the "Stella has basically made the new Mariah happen" card a little too much, so I had to vent. You are not one of those people though. Keep posting, I like your posts.

Old team vs new team (61,276)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
While I am sure Mariah misses her old because they have grown together and became a family, I have to admit this new team has done Mariah wonders. This latest tour has been critically acclaimed and looks to be expanding, Vegas has been extended and even more so Mariah's voice and confidence has been much better since Stella and company have come in place. The old team seems to have become too comfortable with being on MC's payroll and lacking. Though I feel Stella may have a very dominating personality her work ethic with Mariah so far has produced positive results. So Stella is welcomed on board in my opinion, all I am concerned is trying to make her family famous off of MC's back.

Hah I must admit sometimes I stare at acronyms here and wonder "wtf?" Some joker put #B the other day. So in that vein, I wish MC would stop saying H is schmaltzy, she would stop singing the H remix with ME and DB and H was put into the SSFT setlist, without the jetski. Maybe even TMS (the "S" being for "shellsuit" lmao). You crack me up. If you want, email me your number and we can whatsapp: andrewjamesgold@gmail.com.

How would you feel had this been the cover for "Butterfly"? I think this is one of the photoshoots that took place in 1997 and were never used until several years later obviously. I often forget that it is indeed a stunning picture.

This article was really interesting. I love to see the background of things that are classics now. Isn't it amazing how Mariah did things no one thought of before? It is really amazing to hear the respect from so many people, her talent, her musical ability, her raw energy, her keen understanding of what she is doing, amazing stuff.

I agree with you Andy. She always wanted be respected for her art, not for commercial success. I understand her struggles with the label and Tommy. I have just finished reading Hitmaker: The Man and His Music. It's just like what Cory Rooney said in the article about Mariah's collaborators: "Mary doesn't have to sell 28 million records to be respected - people respect Mary, and I just want to be respected like her." And I realized the extent of damage made to George Michael's career by the suits in Sony. That he wanted to be an artist, not an asset. The same thing happened to Mariah after divorce with Tommy.

But most of them have samples included. Hence, the writers of the original song is credited. Majority of Mariah's work barely has over two writers. She just gives credit to the composers.

On the subject of message board rules, is there any way you would consider adding a rule about people abbreviating song titles? Whenever I see IWKWLI or YDKWTD or things like that, I often have to spend ages trying to work out which song it is, and usually can't and give up haha. Anyway, just a suggestion, I may be the only one without the intelligence to work these out, in which case ignore me.

Jenny, the concert here in Poland lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes or so. It seemed much longer though. We were in the front raw right in front of her, it was an amazing experience to be that close to her. Although she said she wasn't feeling well that day, her vocal was brilliant. She also interacted with us, I personally could feel the connection.

Have to desagree with him. It isn't true that they only performed OSD twice. As far as I know they did it live at MSG in 1995, at the Grammys in 1996, at Lady Di's tribute in 1997, at BET in 2001 and during TAOMT in 2006. By the way I wouldn't be avaliable either after what he said after Jamaica's disaster.

Mariah Carey - Tallinn and Riga 2016 Vocals (61,259)
by 123 from USA

I'm so tired of Mariah being so consistent instead of vocally inconsistent. Before this last Vegas run, I was always nervous each time she had to perform. I wasn't even about how she was going to sound and more about just being able to get through a decent performance. Can you imagine the reaction if she performed with vocals from this tour at the Billboard Awards? I hope this improvement becomes a new normal.
