Mariah Christmas (58,594) by Andrew from UK
For years I have felt Mariah has embarrassed herself, crapped upon her legacy and made me doubt what it is I feel deep down about her. A crisis of conscience. The movie is as everyone expected: another nail in a coffin. What was she thinking? When she's in it it looks like she's in her own house phoning in the performance for others to act around. Awful. Vanity madness. Where were the people telling her to drop this? This is Glitter Christmas. Fallout from this will me massive. How to defend it? Well the Merriest Christmas concert was fantastic. Okay, so she lipped. Bothersome. But she sang. When she sang, she sang. And it seems like Mariah learned how to lip better now (eye brow depressions giving it away as always). I found myself sending the links to my friends. She looks absolutely stunning - physically reminded me of the Daydream photo shoot save for the hair. No ridiculous ball gown. And she has stage presence, she looks like a diva singer not a diva actress. Shocked. I'll watch this over and over. Something to shout about. The voice doesn't sound as arid as it did thi jot perfect. Perhaps the lipping in parts hides it. And Joy To The World is something to shout about. This is the range for her. Drop these Fantasy ranges. Just sing in the range that you can and bang it out. It sounds [censored] great when you do. More than ever convinced Mariah needs to let go of the reputation for elasticity to which she is clinging on, and sing in the register she can. It's sounding pretty good. There, I said it. That was good. The movie is like watching a fat man on the toilet from underneath. The concert was kinda cool. Here's to the O2. Bring it. I need it. Peace on Earth.

A Christmas Melody (58,591) by Marissa from USA
Currently watching the movie. I think Lacey Chabert was a great casting choice for one of the lead roles. When I first saw the clip of MC's first scene a couple of weeks ago I was not feeling the acting, but now seeing Mariah's performance in context I'm actually enjoying it. So far, so cute.

Love Merriest Christmas (58,590) by May from Denmark
Finally had time to watch from beginning to end. I loved it so much I thought it was so short. She looked so gorgeous, I love she is back to that honey golden hair that matches her tanned bronze skin, she looked yummy like a gingerbread cookie haha. I liked all the songs choices but I was really wishing she would sing Charlie Brown Christmas, it's such a sweet song. Her pipes sounded amazing, I liked how much in control she seemed. Her dresses her divine, she is looking more toned every week and finally she changed those ginormous white/silvery/diamond earrings. A lovely show with a very pretty stage.

A Christmas Melody and MC's Merriest Christmas DVD? (58,589) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
It's been strongly hinted at that ACM is coming out on DVD last night on Twitter and #AChristmasMelody was still trending when I fell asleep at 7am CET today. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive for Mariah's 1-2 puch of a Hallmark Holiday Extravaganza. I didn't see a single negative comment and the Lambily was in rare form showing out and beaming with pride so it was probably wise to keep any grinchiness private while we celebrated MC's triumph as a director as well as her sleighing Christmas Special. Here's Joy To The World. Now go out there and kill it for MiMi.

Her parts aren't stellar acting but IMO it's all attitude. If you go into it looking for Oscar worthy flawless acting you'll be disappointed. But if you go into it hoping for fun and funny moments with just overall holiday festiveness it'll be ok. It's a Hallmark Christmas movie. Come on, give her a break.

Re: Christmas special (58,570) (58,586) by Liz Archer from Sweden
I agree the christmas special performance was spectacular. This is what I wanted to see and enjoy. I loved her dresses and the lightning and all was really great. She looked amazing and sounded great. I haven't seen the movie yet, I am afraid to watch it to be honest. I wish she would do great as an actress and I would personally love to see more of acting, but I am afraid that she might let her "diva"-ness take over. I saw a small snippet and I was sadly to see some "mistakes" from a director point of view. From the reviews I've seen so far it doesn't looks so great.

Merriest Christmas (58,585) by Lee from UK
I am probably one of the quickest people to point out when Mariah has given a bad performance so I wanted to actually make sure I'm doing the same when Mariah is deserving of praise. "Mariah's Merriest Christmas" show was absolutely stunning. I can not wait to share this with my family this Christmas and not have to worry about bum notes. Mariah sounded fan-bloody-tastic. Her voice sounded clear and crisp. I know the show was pre recorded and they probably chose the best bits but it did seem completely seamless. Mariah made good melodic choices with a lot of the songs. I love it when Mariah changes parts of the songs to something different than I'm used to. She was also looking amazing. Here's hoping she keeps this up until March 2016 when she comes to the UK on tour.

Is it just me, or has she dug out her charmbracelet from the CB era?

I couldn't help to notice that maybe Mariah loosely based this movie as her as a girl. She has made comments that she was bullied and made fun of. She said she was the new girl since her mom and her move around much. I really enjoyed the movie. I was noticing how the angles and shots were clearly thought out well. I'm glad that teaser with Lacey did not sum up this movie.

Joy To The World Hallmark (58,581) by Luke from United Kingdom
She sounds stunning here and it's so nice to see a taped version of this song. She looks so young and sounds it as well. I'm so happy this is going to be on DVD. This really reminds me of the MTV Unplugged session, good for her for coming back stronger than last year. Who's laughing now Rockefeller?

A Christmas Melody / Mariah's Merriest Christmas (58,580) by Martyn from England, UK
The movie was awful, worse than I expected. It wasn't even funny bad, it was just bad. The little girl who played the lead role was adorable and Lacey's a good actress, but Mariah's parts were embarrassing and she looked like a walking blur tool. I don't think I'll be watching it again in a hurry. The Christmas special, on the other hand, was amazing. Mariah looked and sounded incredible (although a lot of it was dubbed) and aside from the weirdly awkward duet with Babyface, I loved every minute of it. She should make it an annual tradition.

Mariah spectacular night (58,579) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
Mariah spectacular night at Hallmark. Once again she came, fought and conquered. No one can point out flaws because there weren't flaws to mention lol. I love Mariah because she does this: rises from the ashes when everyone thinks she can't and does it with a smile, high heels, a long dress and with full make up. Now, waiting for the tour to kick in.

Mariah's Merriest Christmas was amazing. It was festive and fun. She sang with conviction and the skits were funny. I'd happily watch this special every year.

Merriest Christmas (58,575) by Billy from Greece
I don't know what Mariah's been doing but to say that she is gorgeous is not enough. Seeing her next to Babyface I had to remind myself that it's not 1998 but 2015. Literally, she looks as if she's straight out of 1998. The special was cute and I loved seeing her festive and in the mood. Clearly the Vegas residency has helped her regain her ease on stage and with the camera and she's definitely more confident in her vocal chops as well. I personally never doubted that she can still sang like a powerhouse anyway. The only thing I don't like is the tendency to overdub. So unnecessary given that the woman can still blow like no other. I really don't understand this, especially when it's clear that it makes her also feel uncomfortable. She's concentrating not to miss the lipped note that it almost ruins the moment. It just gets me because her current voice is equally fantastic. It's not like she can't find equally impressive notes live with the recorded versions. Her mid-belts for example are in fact stronger than back in the day. Likewise, her vibrato is back and so damn good. Moreover, "Hark. The Angels Sing" really turns into a live highlight every time, her tone on "Christmas Time Is in the Air Again" was fantastic, while her melismas are still unmatched (Babyface seemed a bit under-rehearsed but it was sweet seeing them together). Not to mention her improvisations next to Big Jim Wright. I think he has really helped Mariah these past few years feeling more secure in herself. He is really there for her. Anyways, bottom line, I love seeing Mariah looking and sounding so good these past few weeks.

Mariah Carey - Live Beacon Theater 2015 final day (58,571) by 123 from USA
She finally went for her famous F5 note, even if it was just for a second. Love the nostalgic St John the divine flashback she did after JTTW. It seems like she goes for it the most on her final show.

Christmas special (58,570) by 123 from USA
She really brought it. The vocals were great. She carefully selected songs to perform that weren't so taxing on the voice with impossible notes. I loved that she threw in God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. She did a great rendition of the song. The duet with Babyface for Christmas Time Is In The Air Again was also a highlight. I was secretly hoping for Miss You Most but I'll settle for the rare God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Everything was perfect about this special. I hope it becomes an annual show for her and she adds rare Christmas songs she wrote into the fold. Jesus Is Born On Christmas Day, One Child, and Miss You Most.
