Debut era videos (53,844) by Tiina from Finland I think it's funny the way she discusses the videos. It's not the first time she's ranting about them though. And let's be honest, she isn't looking her prettiest in the VOL video. I would have been just as annoyed with that video. Her makeup is understated, her hair falls flat and looks crunchy and she's wearing a weird spandex leotard. Mariah is gorgeous of course but I don't think anyone can pull off that look lol. And what is that video about anyway? I never got it. But the song is so good, it was the perfect first single. The LTT video is pretty boring too but I love all her close-ups. I never noticed the glue on her lashes. I love the video for Someday. I love her look (that's hot right now, the 90's are back big time with the earthy tones, I actually saw a Mariah makeup tutorial on YT on her 90's look), I like that she's moving and dancing, plus there's a vague story. And the song is my jam. What's not to love? I wish Mariah would have explained why she hates it so much. I already knew she hated it but the question remains why. By the way, did she date that guy who played her love interest in the video? I like her look in the IDWC video but she probably hates that one too. Memories and rants (53,841) by Lee TS from USA Ummm, I don't think she's really dissing her own videos. Like a lot of people said it's very much "I don't like how I looked in that picture" kind of deal. She's giving these funny little moments that happened and laughing about it. To me, it's a lot like during First Vision when she told the story about how LTT took a lot of time to film because it kept raining. I don't think she's gonna like any videos until Honey comes along when she finally broke free but she might "complain" about the heels hurting. You already know it's gonna be the shorts were played out, only allowed to wear curls, couldn't have fun and living vicariously through her videos on TV, you know the usual. Why so serious? (53,840) by Bino from And dramatic all the time? Mariah is clearly having a good time "ranting" (i.e., complaining in a way that's unreasonable) about her videos. Cut her some slack. It's her videos, as LC mentioned, her "memories", so she can say whatever she wants about them. I for one am enjoying it, getting to know about these petty things that bothered her. I find it funny, maybe because I get her sense of humour. She seems to be having fun with all these little brilliant promotions she's doing, so relax and suck it up as there will be 15 more rantings to go. Don't let nobody's drama bother you. Cheers. Global anthems, Heavenly-themed (53,839) by DK from USA Mariah has a rare ability to affect so many people around the world with her voice. I'm surprised she doesnt sing more "There's Got To Be A Way"-ish songs/anthems. When "Heavenly" was being recorded, she posted a pic of the choir/background singers. It gave me an MJ vibe. The song, although a remake, had great potential if Mariah wasn't hitting super human notes, hence automatically removing any sing-along vibe from the song. If she was to record a video. Regardless of the situation, regardless of how great/fun it was, my go-to is to criticise myself. Mariah has always had self deprecating humour, and what would we rather, her saying "Oh yes. I love myself sick in this video. I am so beautiful. I love myself so much" etc. Can you imagine the field day that the already-biased media would have with that? Just let it be. Mariah's team initially sent a cease and desist, so I'm sure they edited certain subjects and even though he was vague with certain things regarding Mariah in order to get clearance what became the final version (their friendship growing into something more), he revealed a lot about her that I didn't know. MimiLamb / Musti / Dre and Mariah collab (53,834) by 123 from USA In Dr Dre's chapter, Damizza talks about getting Dre to produce for some major artists. He shut down the notion of producing for Michael, but was cool with possibly working with Mariah. Damizza explains that he usually attends the very first meeting between two parties he is trying to get to collaborate so that there are no misunderstandings with people's personalities and individual recording processes. Damizza was overly confident that they would get along and missed the first meeting. It went south. Dre wanted Mariah to come to his studio and record some vocals. Mariah wanted him to send a beat for her to work on with her engineer in Capri. Both parties were offended as neither worked the way the other did. Dre was offended that Mariah wouldn't come to his studio to record (as lambs we know she never records her vocals with anyone in the studio except her engineer). Damizza tried to fix it by telling Mariah to just go and do a scratch vocal to start the building of a relationship but the damage was done. Dre gave the beat to Mary J Blige and the huge hit that was Family Affair came to light. It would have been for her Rainbow album. This story is in Dre's chapter, not Mariah's if I'm correct. If you're gonna be the all important diva we want you to act it. You're opinion matters when you talk sense and are insightful and interesting. Puts comments by the young ones into perspective. Go with this. As for people abandoning the board, it's not because there's not much to be negative about. It's because criticism/debate seems to have been shut down. Not least by the moderator himself. Mariah Daily it isn't. However if I suggest that there is rampant lip-syncing in Vegas I imagine I'll be jumped upon. I do think goin off radar and leaving fans to dangle about what's coming up (and waiting upon Christmas) is not fair. Tell us what is coming up and what music to expect. Time to be open and honest. Just a thought (53,827) by LC from USA Don't you think it's kind of sad that all Mariah does is express her love for her lambs and this is what she gets in return? Whenever anyone brings up her success, she always says "I'm so grateful for my fans because they did this. It wasn't me. I am nothing without them," almost verbatim from one of the recent radio interviews, yet all she gets is a fan base who consistently criticizes her and bitches about little things. So what if she complains about her old videos? They're her videos, and she should have had a say in what she looked like in those videos. While I do see where you're all coming from to an extent, I think you're taking it too seriously. Mariah always says: everyone takes me seriously but me. This is for laughs. This is so she can rant about things she hasn't before, hence the title "memories and rants". She's not being ungrateful and it's not like these videos are going viral for the whole world to see. True, they may be huge things for her, for a regular viewer, who may not be a lamb who occasionally watches her videos, it comes across as being, and I dislike saying this but I cannot find another suitable word, ungrateful. Again, that's how it would come across to a non-lamb. Yes, she can be as honest as she likes, but as least try and find something positive about the videos? Disdain for early videos (53,825) by Marissa from USA I don't think Mariah has an obligation to be in love with every video she's done, but if you're gonna hate something at least let it be for a significant reason. Hating her early videos because you could see eyelash glue for a couple seconds, the "hair snap" in VOL, and the 3 second running man isn't a reason to be so hard on yourself. Random moments (53,819) by Lee TS from USA Because M idolizes Aretha and Patti, I would like to see M take more after Patti than Aretha. I don't know the history between Aretha and Patti or follow their careers close enough to know, but it seems like Aretha is known for being shady boots and Patti comes off as more graceful and god-motherly-like. It seems like M is becoming more or has been known as this shady diva with her off comments, there are articles/gifs galore highlighting her shady moments. Yeah, it can be cute and funny at times ala the infamous "I don't know her" but other times, it's really just insecurity talking. While I appreciate her honesty when asked about AI, I rather her give a pageant answer and the "we love everybody" spiel just to avoid tabloid fodder nonsense. Like Wendy says it's kitchen table talk haha. To throw some shade, Ariana's latest little diddy is tumbling down the BB Hot 100. Now some can say the girl can't even break top 10 on her own merit without the word "featured" in it. Bloop. Lol no but I actually do like the girl and I hope she achieves longevity. Now this may seem desperate but the lambs are thirsty for anything, ok, a little bit exaggerated. But the Fifth Harmony girls are steadily rising on the charts with their biggest so far and may even reach the distance, who knows. But let's say they do get a #1 hit, then I hope Reid would release "Like Mariah" and M can make a cute cameo like she did for Allure. Thirsty I know but it would be a nice moment.
