When you try to be Mariah (52,834) by Jono from USA
I saw this hilarious short video on Facebook the other day. I wonder if Arron is a fellow poster on here.

Inquistr (52,832) by B from USA
I wish this site wouldn't publish articles from that site. The single hasn't even been sent to radio. I live in Ohio and have heard it played twice. The writer doesn't even know the facts regarding the official release of Infinity. I would love to know what that site has against Mariah and why? Does anyone know why that site is so anti-Mariah? The Inquistr is a joke. Epic Records says "Infinity" goes for Hot AC and pop adds during the week of May 4 (thus impacting Hot AC on 5/4 and pop on 5/5), but those associated with the record will obviously hope for some early airplay this coming week.

Las Vegas / B (52,831) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
People going to Las Vegas can you please give us detailed (as much as possible) descriptions about the show and the alleged surprises. I saw the completed set for VOL today. I think there is one set with a huge butterfly. Can't be sure but I saw the sketch of a butterfly and on the picture of MC and Michael, I think you can see a little bit of the butterfly. B, I saw the MV clip you are talking about, but turns out it was just a snippet and Mariah herself later said that they had just finished shooting the beginning of the video during her interviews on the night of her Vegas arrival. She mentioned they didn't finish the video yet. Anyways I hope it's done soon. I really love the song and have given it multiple spins everyday. I hope it charts really well. I just listened to Britney's "Pretty Girls" today, horrible. Thank the good Lord for Mariah.

Abraham (52,830) by B from USA
I adore you. I agree that those songs were excellent but those types of songs are not going to be played on the radio today. #Beautiful was the only obvious single on MIAMTEC. Faded might have fared better than YME but we'll never know. I think that Meteorite and YDKWTD had the most potential. But both would have required remixes to even get airplay though.

Excellent post my friend. I wish Mariah could see it. I personally think she went back to the good music with "Me I am Mariah". "Beautiful", "Dedicated", "Make it look good" and especially "You don't know what to do" are all classic Mariah at her best. All four songs are great. "Infinity" is just plain awful. I just can't with it. I'm hoping she has better songs coming with her next album. I think she could do a song like "Can't we fall in love again" by Phyllis Hyman. A love song that's mature and classic. Mariah still has an amazing voice. I'm still interested and want to listen to her music. But some of us just want something decent.

Jon and Marcus (52,828) by B from USA
Jon, I think she'll have Trey sing Joe and 98 Degrees' parts. Marcus, streaming and YouTube views now make more of an impact on the charts than sales. iTunes is not the only digital retailer. I bought two copies from iTunes and one from Amazon. The reviews for this single are overwhelming positive. Mariah has the video ready it was played in Vegas. I saw a small clip on YouTube that was removed almost instantly. I'm not saying it's going to debut at #1 or even on the Hot 100 but it's going to make it onto a chart. Maybe the Bubbling Under Chart, if that chart still exist. Charts aren't that important but after watching an excellent single like #Beautiful fail to crack the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 I can't help but hope this single does it. I know I'm going to be called delusional but I'm positively optimistic.

Favourite album (52,827) by Bill from the UK
My most favourite album is Unplugged, because she sounds amazing and I think the acoustic arrangements of the songs were somewhat better than the album versions, particularly Someday and Make It Happen. I'll Be There was a show stopping moment and a real career highlight, as is the entire set. The accompanying video is also a favourite, her performance was just timeless. History in the making. But, if we are asking about "real" albums, then I honestly cannot decide. One day it's the debut, then Emotions, then Butterfly, then Daydream. I find certain albums suit certain periods or moods. I've been listening to all my Daydream singles lately, love all the remixes during that time and the live tracks on the Open Arms single, and of course, Slipping Away. This is why MC is my favourite, I love literally everything she's ever done. Except Boy (I Need You) of course.

5 (52,826) by B from USA
In five days I will be in Las Vegas at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace watching Mariah Carey preform her 18 #1's and Infinity. The excitement is overwhelming. To Infinity.

TGIFY (52,825) by Jon from Netherlands
I wonder what she is going to do with this song at Vegas. Together with IDWC and "Someday" it's the only songs she hasn't performed in a long time.

B / being realistic about the charts (52,824) by Marcus from Brazil
B, don't get your hopes too high about the charts. "Infinity" didn't make any big impact on iTunes and it is now out of the top 100. Without sales there's no chance. We've been there before with the "it hasn't been served to radio yet" comments, the most important radio stations have the song, and if it had been that popular, others would've followed. Radio stations have even made hits out of leaked tracks picked from the Internet. Let's be realistic, you might think "Infinity" is the best song in the world, but according to the numbers "Infinity" is not going to happen. Like some fan stated, when you only have one song to entice people to buy an album full of past hits, you need to attack from all directions. Once again there's no video ready, and I don't think it would make any difference now. I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. I like "Infinity", but there's no chance this is going to crack Billboard Hot 100. Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money" topped the iTunes songs for a week, it still debuted at #23 on Billboard Hot 100, it moved up a little with airplay, but then again it's going downhill.

Favorite album (52,822) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Emotions I always felt never has had fair shot, it's a great body of work. I wish the promotion for it at the time had been just as dedicated as her debut. I believe all the force was put on the song "Emotions". Think about it, two videos. Once they had the winning pony they rode it to death. Why is it my favorite? I think it was very forward thinking at the time, it moved away from the jackswing used allot in the debut and dabbled in many styles. "You're So Cold" has a good dance beat but the vocals are so amazing. "Till The End Of Time" was a ballad, yes again great vocals and the drum riff I guess you call it at around mark 4:25 was great way to wind down the song. "The Wind" was very delegate but powerful, she goes from mid-air to full chest voice. Aw hell it's just a pretty song and the fact she added lyrics to an already made musical piece that fit.

To Infinity (52,821) by B from USA
MIAMTEC and her accompanying tour showed us that Mariah was learning to use, and love, the changing textures of her voice. She is continuing that trend with Infinity. The chorus which one critic said sounded strained shows us that she is finally comfortable with the current state of her voice. Her voice is still the best voice in the game. I can't wait to see this week charts because I have a feeling that Infinity will impact the charts before its official serviced to radio from downloads, streams, and YouTube views.

I never knew people thought Faded was a Memoirs leftover. Except for a few songs Memoirs is not an album high on my list so I never would have caught any similarities. Faded is just deep for me. You can hear her hurt. IMO Faded is the realest song on Me I Am Mariah. I'm actually proud of Mike Will and yes I would love to see them work together again. Just to see if they can top Faded.

Mariah (52,819) by B from USA
You're Mine (Eternal) peaked/debuted at #12 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs and at #14 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. It was a modest hit. I love it. I love Infinity. I however hated Triumphant, MOAIA, and Glitter (not the ballads). I think this single is a hit. I think that like Touch My Body this single is a fun catchy single that makes her relevant by not taking herself or her lyrics to seriously.

Become a better artist (52,818) by StrangePilot from USA
Personally, I hate top 40 music. Hate it. I stick with Mariah because I feel she makes interesting choices with her vocals. However, I really dislike all of her music in the past few years. Not because it's bad, because it's the same type of music she's been making for the past 15 years. My advice for the Mariah team is this. #1 Don't have an album cover with Mariah's face or body. Not that she doesn't look good or is not pretty, but like Oprah, seeing yourself on every cover is boring. She should have an artist draw something cool. #2 After the Vegas stint, quit the nostalgia. No more about when I was younger, how hard life was, and stop doing your old songs, especially your 18 #1's. Yes it's an amazing accomplishment, but time to move on. #3 Stop working with the same producers. Not that they suck, but it's time to experiment and try new independent producers that can create a new sound for Mariah. #4 And this is probably most import. Make an album that features your current voice. Maria's tone is so beautiful, that she doesn't have to hit the high notes in her regular voice. Sure, still hit those falsetto notes, but in her regular voice, hit the notes that you can only sing live. So in fact, you can sing them live. #5 Clothes, and this is a big one too. Dress sexy, but not slutty. You can get a new stylist. It's time. And it's time for Mariah to make better music. Stop with the same old sound. I'm a huge fan, but it's just time for her to try something new.

Licia (52,817) by 123 from USA
I agree completely. Faded is my favorite song on the album. I know people have criticized it as sounding like a Memoir leftover or for having a simplistic beat, but the song is simply magical. Mike Will really killed it with such a simple, yet delicate beat for Mariah to wrap her voice around. Couldn't be a Memoir leftover with such a beautiful vocal performance. Mariah really snaps on those vocals, layering upon layering done right. The vocal crescendo in the end is the best one in an album full of unique, boombastic crescendos. I would have loved a live performance of this song, its too good to let it fade. I hope she works with Mike Will Made It again, another song with them together needs to happen.

Beautiful intro with Jeezy (52,816) by 123 from USA
Sans the lip synch drama that came with this performance, the track is great. I love her delicate intro, Jeezy's verse afterwards and DJ Mustards simplistic, yet hard, beat.

Jcs / RJJ (52,814) by Licia from USA
Faded should have been a single or she should have performed it once just so the world could hear the greatness. Mariah put her all into this song. I'm really impressed that Mike Will Made it had something to do with this song. I've only known him to work with hip hop artists. I can't think of another song by any other artist that I can see Mariah singing right now. RJJ she kind of already worked with DJ Mustard on that Jeezy Beautiful Remix. That remix was the best by the way. That Asap Rocky remix never should have seen the light of day. Lol.

Video (52,812) by Lara from Middle East
People, lets suppose Mariah is checking this board, what would be your ideas for the new video? Lets discuss it while we're waiting for the real stuff. I said it before, I'm imagining her packing her stuff and starting a new life with no one else than Nick Cannon taking the role of the ex. I don't get all the negativity on the board. I don't like Infinity that much, she can do better, but she also has done worse. I wish YDKWTD was given all this hype, it could've done great (it has the same vibe of Uptown Funk, but same time it's great to finally hear a good song from her without having to wait more than a minute to hear her sing).

Re: Marcus, enhanced mix (52,811) by John from Italy
Hi Marcus, thank you. I cut the verses to get straight to the only part that I had changed (the last "chorus"/outro) to make you hear only an example of what I wanted to hear in the last part of the song. The first part would remain the same of the original, because there is not much to change there. Perhaps I will upload a full mix (with verses) for those of you interested to listen to the song in its entirety in my version. It would be an honor for me.

Infinity (52,809) by Jon from Netherlands
The edits that were presented here really show the potential of the song. Some of the parts have to be considered for a radio edit. Specially John's transformation of the bridge into ad-libs over the "mantra". I think that it's the first mantra ever in an MC song (might be wrong) but it's already a classic for me. After my initial reaction of "It's fine" my reaction now is "This is brilliant". Needs to be promoted so people everywhere can enjoy it. It has a great vibe to it. The vocals are perfect. At parts they are close to Mariah's speaking voice and I think it's a great choice. It sounds like the 90's? I don't hear it. It could sound like something more recent but it's pretty unique as a Mariah single. About maturity: Being able to tell what probably was the love of your life that you respect yourself enough not to take him back requires a lot of maturity. More than writing a song like INFY or "Forever". Now if we are talking about "Petals" or "I wish you well" of course that I agree but this is a single. I still don't get the first verses but the second ones are perfect. I don't like everything Mariah does. I disliked "Eternal" a lot. It's Mariah's worst single and possibly the worst song she ever recorded but I love this song. With a good radio edit it would become one of my 10 favourite songs. I think I already prefer it to SIO. PS: Lately I've made some grammar mistakes. Sorry me no good so speak English (also not have mucho patiente to prove rid).

New album suggestions (52,808) by 123 from USA
I've already moved on to what she is going to offer us on her new album. Her last album was her best in 10 years, among Daydream and Emancipation. I already posted on song that displayed one direction or sound I want her to visit with Jojo's Far From Heaven. I also like Carly Rae Jepsen's All That. I would Mariah to collaborate with the producers of that song and bring back a nostalgic sounding song like that. I'm also all for her working with Jermaine in creating more old school soul songs like Make It Look Good and IDKWTD. Miguel and Happy Perez would be a no brainer. The Beautiful remix with the beautiful intro with Young Jeezy. A DJ Mustard Collab would be great. Some Jazz/Hip Hop songs would be great along with like, one Jazz ballad. She did a great job creating great songs from every genre she's touched in the past and put them all in one album and have it flow so perfectly together. Hopefully she follows suit on her next album.
