New album suggestions (52,808)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
I've already moved on to what she is going to offer us on her new album. Her last album was her best in 10 years, among Daydream and Emancipation. I already posted on song that displayed one direction or sound I want her to visit with Jojo's Far From Heaven. I also like Carly Rae Jepsen's All That. I would Mariah to collaborate with the producers of that song and bring back a nostalgic sounding song like that. I'm also all for her working with Jermaine in creating more old school soul songs like Make It Look Good and IDKWTD. Miguel and Happy Perez would be a no brainer. The Beautiful remix with the beautiful intro with Young Jeezy. A DJ Mustard Collab would be great. Some Jazz/Hip Hop songs would be great along with like, one Jazz ballad. She did a great job creating great songs from every genre she's touched in the past and put them all in one album and have it flow so perfectly together. Hopefully she follows suit on her next album.

Ideal single for Mariah (52,807)
by JCS from United States
| |
|
|
So I'm wondering, people here have expressed either love or hate for Infinity. Now, if it was upto you, what kind of song do you guys think would be the best kind of single for her? Either one of her recent tracks that's not released as a single or someone else's single. I think Meteorite would have been a good single. Or something like "Ghost" by Ella Henderson. What's your pick? Go.

On the video (52,805)
by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
| |
|
|
Last time I recall him being late with a video was with [...] and remember it was that time in where he spent weeks editing the video trying to make her look [censored] and the result was so sad because it was so obvious that they retouched MC's body To extreme and still it looked bad. I hope this time around that is not the case. I hope this time MC is wearing clothes and in sizes that would help her look the best she can. I know we all want to look the best as possible but that is as possible, so, if she is that [censored] just embrace your true self and just dress accordingly. I think the video is too late already. The song isn't any good To me neither lirycally nor vocally but a good video can do the job. It's great a lot in here like it. It's a concern when someone like Abraham a MC-can-do-no-wrong kind of guy is so openly writting against it though. You surprised me Ab, I always thought you should be about 15-17 years old not like closer to my age. Anyway. I hope this time things goes better for her and waiting for her next song already. I hope Andrew, Trevon, etc aren't leaving the board. Please stay.

Lady Gaga (52,804)

IMO I think Mariah and Lady Gaga should create a song together. I believe it would be fresh and exciting to hear their voices on a track together.

Mariah's Vegas show (52,803)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
I'm excited for this show. This will be her biggest performances in her career. Even bigger than her Adventures tour. This is a great time to be in Vegas. It seems like everything is popping down there. I can't wait to go in July. Its expected that she will have some lipped moments but as long as she mixes it up with great live vocals a la Beacon show or better she will kill it. She is looking really good lately and I hope she keeps it up. She has been everywhere being photographed with several single, successful, attractive men lately and she is looking really good. It seems like Vegas is doing her good. She better put her all in these shows and get plenty of vocal rest. I want to see her sprout wings, wear all the jewelry she owns, unicorns, and other spectacles. It would be great to see Bianca re-emerge for the Heartbreaker bit. I can't wait to hear what she does to those classics, I hope she gives them justice, they are her crown jewels.

Infinity / rant (52,802)
by Jeremey Carey from United States
| |
|
|
I haven't been on this board in awhile, mainly because of me focusing on my real life, but I have to comment on Infinity. I think Infinity can be a mini hit, it could probably hit 15 on the charts, with the right video and enough performances and promotions it could do better. I love the rhythm and the whispered "ooh aah"s, they're rather soothing to the ears. I just think it sounds like a great song and I'm looking forward to hearing future albums from this label. This formula is off to a good start so far, not to mention how amazing Mariah looks right now. She seems like she actually loves herself and seems genuinely happy. Which makes me genuinely happy. I love that the TMZ photo of her rehearsing showed her with all the appropriate equipment fot vocal protection, not to mention the lack of champagne. I pray she puts the bottle away, at least just for the residency.

Proud (52,801)
by LaCoya from USA
| |

|
I am so proud of Mariah. She is doing her thing. Lol. And to be honest with you I love the new single. You here the different aspects of your voice, the highs, lows, and that fast singing she loves to do. Us as fans are used to Mariah singing these big ballads, but I believe Mariah never wanted to be a ballad singer, she always love r&b, and that is what she is doing, the thing that she always love. Anyhow, support the single and stop complaining, we should be happy, we got our new music and to see our girl Mariah grow as an artist, which I think she has done. Mariah, you go girl. Always a fan and l will always remain one.

Favorite album (52,799)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
I'm trying to steer things in a better direction. What's your favorite album and why? Mine is Charmbracelet (I know I'm probably the only person who bought this album lol). In the 13 years and albums before CB I never had an album that I considered to be mine. I would always hear fans says how this song helped them or that album saved them and I never had that until CB came out. CB is therapy for me. I finally got an album where I could relate to each and every song. Since I'm the only one who bought this album she made it specifically for me ( lol).

Countdown to the residency debut (52,798)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
I'm hoping Mariah does well with the residency and she makes people remember why she's one of the best. I'm bummed that I won't get to make it to Vegas. Hopefully fans will be able to sneak a few videos. Adam, I agree with what you said, but unfortunately if you don't have people who are willing to be open to all opinions whether good or bad (especially bad) it won't work. It's sad because there was a point in this forum where we could have opposing views and discuss them like adults without all the hater, blind fan, delusional, and a whole mess of other names being thrown out. We didn't always agree, but we handled it better than it's being handled now.

Hi Warrior Butterfly. It's funny you bring up the remixes. I have been listening to that album lately. I especially love when MC re-records the lyrics. I really hope we will get a new remixes album one day. That would be awesome.

Opinions (52,796)
by Adam from Usa
| |
|
|
I don't post a lot on here. I love to read everyone's opinions. I do mean everyone's. To the good the bad the ugly. It's what makes this board so unique. You can't have to good without the bad. To any member that is thinking about quitting, please don't. We need everyone's voice in order for this to be an open forum. Do I agree with everyone? No. Do I go after someone with a different opinion then mine? No. What good would that do? Stay true to yourself and know that your voice is being heard and appreciated. Much love.

I want to be clear that I meant no disrespect to anyone with my "challenge" post. I was just encouraging those who usually remain quite without posting, to speak up. It's good to have a variety of opinions. The first rule should be "don't take it personally" whatever it might be. Much love to all.

Infinity and Mariah (52,794)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
| |
|
|
Here is my take on Infinity. Is it great? No it is not. Is it bad? To me no. The song isn't what it should have been to grant appeal but some of my fellow lambs are stuck on a comeback and unfortunately this song is bad specifically for this day in age of music. It's not the 90s anymore. Mariah to me needs to let people know her talents and I feel it's too late because Mariah took too long of a break 2010-2015 to begin promotional pushes. I blame her and her label for not trying hard enough to please the new generation of fans from 2010-2015. This new generation is the most prominent now and Mariah can't release songs like infinity to please them. The new digital age and the decline of album sales began to show during this time and the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Adelle, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift revolutionalized the emphasis of selling songs instead of albums. Taylor, Beyonce, and Adelle always had album success because they are known to be more than just a regular pop stars and therefore always received the most hyped respect and press. This was the time Mariah Carey should have made a statement and released comparable music. During 2010-2015, others stood out as songwriters and show stoppers when Mariah took long breaks and acted difficult all the time. Mariah needs to act her age, ace her Vegas residency and trust Epic Records visions. She needs to stop sitting on her platform and begin damage control. I just hope it's not the end of a great legacy that is, Mariah Carey.

We're hard on her because some of us know she can do way better than "Infinity". You can't honestly expect a 26 year old man like myself(straight or gay) to want to listen to something tacky and immature. I like real songs. I feel like Mariah doesn't know what music is anymore.

Absolutely no word on the video yet. I'm a little anxious. I hope Brett isn't busy doing other projects. This song needs to be promoted while it's still hot. It has a mass appeal. The GP is liking it. A hot video is something it needs to push it to the next phase. Brett don't be playing with me now.

My Vegas guess list II (52,789)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

|
|
This list doesn't cancel out the first one and so, in no particular sequence: 1. Stevie Wonder 2. Dru Hill 3. Patti LaBelle 4. West Life 5. 98° 6. Babyface 8. Kelly Clarkson 9. R. Kelly 10. Nas Really, Mariah collaborates the most out of any artist I can think of alive or dead. I could easily make 5 more lists of possible Vegas guest stars for the #1 To Infinity shows. That's amazing. She has such a great relationship with her ego. So democratic with her musicianship despite being generally more "successful" as a singular artist. Only 4 of her Billboard #1's are duets or features. I'm impressed. So who do you guys want to see in Vegas as surprise or semi-permant guests?

I've been digging the remixes she done over the years. "Someday", "Anytime you need a friend", "Fly away (Butterfly reprise)" to name a few. I love that Infinity itself has no guest or featured people, straight Mariah Carey. Makes me wonder if they will do remixes later.

Bravo to Lamb_O_Chop, B and Ethan: #1 To Infinity (52,786)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |

I love your posts because I love Infinity too. It's classic Mariah Carey. From the #1: Someday and Prisoner to Alone In Love, Can't Let go, If It's Over, And You Don't Remember, through Everything Fades Away, Long Ago, Breakdown to DIDT, Clown, YHYC through Obsessed, UOMF and Thirsty. Mariah even said as much when she told us she wrote it to fit the evolution of her as a songwriter and artist. It's familiar in theme but still innovative enough to show her enormous growth and flexibility as a songwriter over 25 uninterupted years of artistry. Mariah has managed to stay true to her core self and still give us fans new gems to cherish. Not all entertainers have the integrity, let alone talent, to pull that off. Even those lambs who don't like Infinity should be able to appreciate that and realise that Mariah can't please everybody all the time, not even herself. Otherwise it's like spending your last wish on getting the genie back in the bottle when the least you can do is wish her well.

When We Belong Together came out I was in and on/off relationship that began on 4/27/04. His sister contacted me before the title to Infinity leaked and before I had heard the single. I have to say I might love this song because it describes my feelings about him perfectly. I was the best thing that ever happened to him. The fact that the song was released on what would have been our 11th anniversary is the cherry on the cake.

After reading the comments like "aren't you glad the regulars left" and "its about time newbies are finally commenting", I have changed my mind and will be officially back. You ignorant people just couldn't be quiet and decided that you are the most happy without regulars. Last time I checked this is not a competition. Its a damn messageboard and your stupid comments is the reason I'm back. If you are looking for balance and new people, oh too bad. The more you all talk about wanting regulars gone, the more they will come back. [...]
