Epic, Sony and MC.com (50,823) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
She not featured on there pages as an epic artist. Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit.

Mariah going home to Sony-Epic (50,822) by B from USA
This is the kind of headline she needed. She was out and about looking stunning and now this announcemen. I think she's gearing up for a huge comeback.

Hopefully we'll finally get to see the Underneath The Stars video. Fingers crossed.

New to MCA (50,819) by Nilah from U.S.A
Hi lambs. My name is Nilah and I am new to this website. I heard about this website through the grapevine and I decided that I should check it out. Hopefully we can share some ideas and have a good conversation. (Side note: I really want Mariah to work with Sia because Sia has hits under her belt and her latest album is simply amazing.)

Mariah needs to return to pre 1997 (50,818) by Jared from US
I like the idea of performing a #1 in Vegas. However the #1's album to me means it will flop. She has enough compilations of her music. Really her fans can create their own playlist with #1's. I wish that Sony would release a 25th anniversary of her debut album with extra remxes of "Someday", "There's got to be a way" and demos of her other sings. Plus it would be neat to hear a list of songs she was going to add to the album but later scrapped them. Also should be done for Emotions and MTV Unplugged EP.

Daydream, Mariah's next step (50,817) by Stacey from USA
This album is pure genius. Daydream will always be my favorite album. It's hard to believe its been 20 years since that album was released, and yet, the sound of the album could dominate in today's market. Mariah needs to believe in herself again. It seems like she's lost a bit of confidence to me. Daydream in particular is evidence of MC taking a chance and it paying off: i.e. Fantasy Remix with ODB. No one else had infused pop and hip-hop the way MC did, but they sure knew what winning formula to follow afterwards. It's that same kind of thinking that needs to happen again. She may fall flat on her face with a new idea. And she may have the "next big thing" in music like she did with Fantasy.

Your Mine remake (50,816) by 123 from USA
I like this version of Your Mine. I believe if Mariah would have taken a more throwback 90s, organic sound, it would have made the song better. Listen and let me know what you think.

Mary J. Blige - The London Sessions (50,815) by 123 from USA
When I heard she was going for a throwback sound on the new album, I was excited. When I would listen to Amy Winehouse, I would think, Mary would sound good singing these songs. It was an A+ idea, with an F in execution. None of the songs are really memorable except for the Disclosure produced song "Right Now", and even that song doesn't stay in your head except for the beat. This is just one prime example that even if someone changes their sound, if they dont have great songs, it's not going to work. I do believe that regardless of the direction, Mariah will make sure she has some great songs.

MIAM / new album direction (50,814) by 123 from USA
Its interesting to read people's opinion about the album almost a year later. Everyone agrees that it was a solid body of work but more of the same and nothing new. I also don't listen to it as much anymore except for my faves (YDKWTD, Faded, Dedicated, Meteorite). The vocals were the best she has had since TEOM and MCIIY but they sounded over processed on some songs, such as the high belts on One More Try. They sounded studio enhanced, abnormally high and thin on that song. I'm fine with maybe taking out the raspiness of some belts if she wants them to sound smoother. Fine touches here and there. Just not notes that don't sound real. You're Mine was overproduced. Too many synthesizers and sounds that an actual instrument can't replicate. Had they kept it simple, used actual instruments, it would have came out so much better. I hope that she finds a balance and does more organic sounding songs/throwback along with a few contemporary producers thrown in for some uptempos (Timbaland, DJ Mustard, MikeWillMadeIt, and Disclosure). She can mix genres as well, like jazz and hiphop. Which is the sound want her to do this go round. Along with a few jazz ballads.

It's official you all, Mariah and Sony are back together (50,813) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I don't even care that it's Roger Friedman breaking it. Mariah is back home. I feel like she's been moved 13 times since Tommy made her leave her musical home back in 2001. She helped build that house and I believe it was only ever a matter of time before she found her way back. Was this why MC and JD rendezvoused in L.A. last week instead of ATL? Yay for 2015 as the year of the butterfly. I wonder how many albums she owes them this time round. I'm hoping for a conservative number. What do you guys think of the new Sony deal?

Mariah heavy metal (50,812) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I have seen heavy metal remixes with other artist that were pretty good. So I "youtubed it" to see if there was any Mariah Carey heavy metal remix. This is what I found. Warning. It is scary and horrible but funny at the same time. I only listened to a few seconds of it. (That's all I could stand.) I could imagine MC doing vocals to an awesome heavy metal ballad similar to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica or "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth. I don't think it's gonna happen though. I think the heaviest song she ever did was "You Need Me" from the debut album. That song kicks ass.

Vegas (50,811) by Mara from United States
Well just thought I would join in on all the love posted on this board today. Speaking of Mariah changing things up for Vegas, we know Big Jim is involved since he posted on twitter, also her dancers from the Elusive Chantuse Show are still involved, per their twitter page as well. Now I am hoping whoever is choreographing her Vegas show can bring out something more from these dancers than what we saw on TECS. I am not saying anything bad about them, they can only work with what people tell them to do, but we all know her last tour left a little to be imagined. I only hope they change things up and make things look more "higher budget" and more showtime Vegas like and not more of the same ol same ole. Anyhow, speaking of old posters on here, whatever happened to Stephen? Stephen if you still lurke here, some of us miss your posts. Come back, as no matter what you were a real fan of Mariah too. Lastly, people have mentioned if MC continues her Christmas shows, how fun would it be to have a full MCArchives meet up in NYC in December? I would be in.

Mariah's new record (50,810) by Ty from USA
Finally, the cd will arrive the end of April, and Mariah is finally off Def Jam. Let's hope for a great single with stunning vocals written by the queen with amazing vocals and a incredible bridge or ending note that she will lip for her life in Vegas. Why am I thinking she will change "Someday" into an acoustic kiss off version. 2.015 people will be reminded who the real queen is.

Daydream and Shelly (50,809) by B from USA
Daydream was the first album I bought. I waa ten years old. She's been my favorite ever since. Daydream is my favorite album ever. Mariah needs to make an album like Daydream that showcases her pop songwriting genius and her admiration for old school R&B and Hip Hop. If she made this type of album she'd easily regain her throne.

Showing MIAM some love (50,808) by Dove from USA
I mentioned earlier no other album recaptured the essence of a moment like Daydream did. I thought about it some more and I actually think Butterfly and MIAMTEC also do. I just like Daydream better I guess. Maybe because it takes me back to when I first heard it. When I listen to MIAMTEC I actually feel like a lot of songs were written about my relationship: Cry, Faded, #Beautiful, Make It Look Good, You're Mine, You Don't Know What To Do, Camouflage, Money, One More Try, and Heavenly. Even those that don't apply (Thirsty, Meteorite, Dedicated, and Supernatural) I still like a lot. I think I've been trying not to feel the songs on MIAM too much because I'm finally almost 100% over my ex and I don't want to reopen those wounds or fall back into that wretched hole. I think in the future, when I'm fully indifferent, I will appreciate MIAM as much as Daydream. I'm glad it exists. Thanks Mimi.

Shelly (50,804) by B from USA
Bruno's When I Was Your Man, Locked Out Of Heaven, Grenade, and Just The Way You Are. Happy Perez coproduced #Beautiful with Mariah and Miguel. Have you heard Adorn by Miguel? If not listen to it, asap. Frank Ocean is the only artist I suggested that I'm not familiar with but he's a critical darling that could make her step out of her comfort zone and do something radical. Something that takes people by surprise. Mark Ronson is the producer of Amy Winehouse's Back To Black, listen to My Tears Dry On Their Own. I'll compile a definite list in a day or two.

Hello (50,802) by B from USA
Skydiving was produced by Timbaland. They've worked together before and I think it was a wise decision not to release Skydiving and 100%. Mariah Carey is better than that. She needs to reunite with Missy Elliot. Babydoll is one of Mariah's best songs and I think they should write a song or two for MC's next studio album.

Sia (50,801) by Luke from United Kingdom
Call me crazy but while we're on the topic of Mariah branching out and working with new people, I think it would be amazing if she done something with Sia. She is hot right now and her voice has that rough vulnerability that Mariah kinda has now. I don't really know how Mariah would feel singing on stage with her though since she keeps herself anymous. I'd love to hear this though. Ah a guy can dream.

Mariah new sound (50,799) by Victor from Costa Rica
Hi everybody. I would like to hear Mariah singing rock or metal. Or a classic acoustic ballad. Or maybe something autochthonic from places/countries that have a banner sound, like flamenco from Spain, samba from Brazil, etc.

Edward and Adam (50,798) by G.G. from USA

Edward (50,797) by Abraham from USA
I agree, I think most would agree that Mariah needs a new sound, as well as working with new producers and artists. Sometimes an artists needs to take risks and try something that fans would never expect. Whatever Mariah releases, I'm looking forward to it. I think she definitely needs to get in the studio with Pharell and Timbaland. I want to say that I enjoyed everyone's posts today. All my favorites posted. Brandon, Shelly, Mimi L., Edward, as well LC, Travon, Bill, George, Ty and Baby. You all are the best lambs on the board.

Mariah's new album, production team (50,796) by ADAM from USA
I can live and accept her voice in its current state however I cannot bear to witness another boring predictable album. While MIAM was a nice welcome after years of not being on the scene, it's a forgettable album that doesn't get replayed or have melodies I can't get out of my head. She keeps working with the same producers since 2005 and it shows. I'm not saying they're not talented but I think it's time to move on to different people you don't know. She needs to accept their hits/misses from the past and create new experiences that will invigorate her creativity and music. I think she's been going through (including MIAM) writer's block and creative block. Mary J Blige is an example of an RnB artist who created the same music over and over and took a risk and did London Sessions with a whole new team and her music is amazing now and fresh. Across many different genres Mariah could collaborate with producers and really make magic again. Some examples of collaborations could be Clive Davis, Bruno Mars, Adele, Daft Punk, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton. It may sound strange at first but Mariah has the voice and talent to blend her sound with any artists at the mic. I think the public is ready to still root for Mariah with her limited voice, she just needs to bring on a new sound and not the same RnB records we've all heard before and are boring. JD should be banned from her lists of producers. How many B-side records can they continue to make? Anyone else agree with me?

Abraham / the holy nodules (50,795) by Edward from USA
Abraham, I've thought for a long time now that maybe Mariah got some sort of surgery that didn't come out right. Even though I clearly understand that nothing stays the same, the quick decline of her voice has always baffled me. I will always support her, but to be honest, I haven't felt as excited about her projects as I used to. MIAMTEC is a great album, I love it, but I rarely find myself playing it. I think it is because while the music is great, her aver all sound has stayed the same. I would love something fresh and completely different. I think she can still make great music, she just has to take some risks, it might actually pay off.

Beyond repair / Big Jim "Right" and Little Red Riding JD (50,794) by Edward from USA
The relationship between Mariah and Walter is beyond repair. When they broke apart, Walter wasn't expressing any kind of desire to work with Mariah again because he was still a hot producer for Celine, Savage Garden and others. Now that he's desperate, he's trying to reconnect, but his reaching out doesn't come across as sincere to me. We, Aries people, stand for loyalty, we might forgive a betrayal just to move on with our lives. Mariah is a huge comeback album, a marriage, two babies, another great Christmas album, and another divorce apart from Walter. They are in completely different places, they are like strangers, it's been 18 years. Just like most producers, Walter's mojo is gone, but Mariah's still able to produce great music or get a hit even if it's not a #1, but a hit nonetheless. I don't mind Mariah working with JD or Big Jim, they can still produce great music, but other than great music, Mariah also needs to deviate a bit from her formula and typical sound. Mariah came a winner out of the 90's when others stayed there because she experimented with different sounds. No matter how great the music is, if she doesn't experiment as a way to transition, I'm afraid we'll be getting the same old music that only us fans connect to.
