I'll leave you everytime for Mariah (46,936)
by nikki from usa

Although, a lot of the media are now trying to pair MC and The Rock as a couple, MC was basically supporting the movie for her friend Brett Ratner. The Rock's a fan.

The shady couple (Ed. and St.) (46,935)
by Tarraga from New York City
| |
|
|
KeShawn Taylor, I'm here to support you and those of you who write long lists. The N.Y. guy (Ed.) and his U.K. boyfriend (St.) are truly [censored]. They think they are funny but they are not. I rarely post here because of them. They think they are superior to others. I call them the Messer-Know-It-All, but they don't know anything. I always skip their posts but when they make fun of others I have to speak up and defend my fellow lambs. Who are them to tell us what to write? Who do they think they are? I'm tired of them and their attitude. As long as we follow our Webmaster's rules, we are free to write what we want and as many lists as we want. There are no rules against lists. I emailed the N.Y. guy a while back and he was very arrogant. I was just trying to make lamb friends in N.Y. but hey, I'm glad he showed his true colors. So yeah, if they don't like long lists they shouldn't read them. The N.Y. guy wrote the longest list a few days ago. So, he can do it but the rest can't? Right. I don't understand why they have to be so rude. I'm tired of [censored]. I really loved this board when everybody was nice with other lambs. What happened?

The Music Box album (46,934)
by S from
| |
|
|
Been listening to the Music Box album a lot lately because I haven't always given it the attention it deserves, with the exception of mostly the singles released from it and I must say now that I've really been missing out. It may be more mellow than the other albums but Im glad I gave it a chance. The powerful chorus and bridge of All I've Ever Wanted Is You is chills. Just to hold you once again is stuck in my head. Never Forget You gets right to me, especially the verses and those vocals are perfection. Everything Fades Away is haunting, celestial, melancholy but gorgeous plus perfect song to end the album. I've been thinking about you is such a feel-good early 90s r&b vibe and relatable lyrics. Now that I know one of the few uptempo's and love how fresh it is. Another thing I love is how timeless the album feels, it never sounds dated to me. It truly deserves its status as one of the best selling albums of all time.

Lists (46,933)
by Martyn from England, UK

I don't find lists annoying. What I do find annoying is people moaning about other people's posts (which I guess is exactly what I'm doing now so I'm being relatively hypocritical). It's really not that taxing to use your finger to scroll past though, guys.

Re: Billy / GMA '90 (46,932)
by Eternal from Italy

This GMA video in good quality made me fall in love with Mariah's voice all over again. She was so soft-spoken and humble in that interview. When asked about comparisons to Whitney, you could see from her expression that she was a bit miffed but she managed to sound professional by saying she hoped to distinguish herself in the future with her singing and songwriting. And that performance with only a piano (loved the jazzy intro and her adlibs) and two male background vocalists was one of her best live renditions of VOL ever. The only other time she did a whistle in the beginning was in 2005, on the BET show. I think she can still pull off this stripped down piano and voice version if she lowers the pitch. I hope she does VOL this way the next time, it's more intimate as it cuts out the other instruments which might upstage her voice. Actually I think she should change the way she sings most of her old songs, the way she did with "Shake It Off". Keep the melody, lower the key, slow down the rhythm, add just a piano or guitar, and add in some improvised lyrics, whatever. That way she'll be lauded for her originality, yet still sing the song the way she can now.

Endless lists (46,930)
by Danny Cedar from uk
| |
|
|
I agree these thousands of lists of songs is pointless nobody reads them and I don't get why people do them. It's good to celebrate Mariah's songs and I suppose doing a fantasy "set list" is cool but some go on and on and on for a long time and clutter up the message board gets boring. Maybe people can private email each other these organised lists instead?

3 points for Abraham (46,929)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
1) There was a slither of a rumor. For example, one video was posted by someone on this board. Plus I did acknowledge in my very first post on this topic that it is probably false because they were photographed just once together. 2) I am not speaking for everyone when I said Dwayne is a good match. What I said was Dwayne is an international superstar and almost everyone knows who The Rock is. That indeed is a fact and in that case I am indeed speaking for almost everyone. It's the same as Mariah. One can't deny she is an international superstar. 3) Since you asked, I thought you might want to know, TAOLG was performed by MC at New Year's Eve. And I agree about TAOLG. It's a beautiful song and I think t he rawness in her voice kind of adds to the heart wrenching situation of the song. The ending gives me goosebumps.

Finally, one of the absolute live performances of "Vision of Love" available in high quality for the first I think. The commercials are also included. Aw, the nineties. They don't make them like they used to, do they?

Mariah Carey is so beautiful (46,927)
by Cheryl Jones from American
| |
|
|
I think Mariah Carey is the best person I have ever know in the whole wide world. I really love my sister. I made my own nickname just for her, it is Ma. Ma is so loving and kind she reminds me of a beautiful doll baby. I love her so much until I think she is my Christian sister. So Ma if you see this I want you to know I really adore you. Or any lamb for life.

Lists and The Rock (46,924)
by Dove from USA

KeShawn Taylor: I like making lists too, so I appreciate the thought and time that go into making them. I don't mind reading your lists. Mimi L: I think Dwayne Johnson is a hottie too. When I saw those pictures of them together; it made me think that Mariah should be with a big, buff, fine man like him. I'm getting hot just thinking about it. I know The Rock is not available but a girl can dream.

She actually has performed The Art of Letting Go Live a couple times. Once on Jimmy Fallon and on the New Years Eve show last year. Although the New Year's Eve performance was partially lipped and the first verse was cut out.

Mariah has performed the song twice that I know of. Once on the Jimmy Fallon show and again on a New Years Eve special. I think when she sung it on Fallon that she only sang bits and pieces of it. And I read in an interview that her favorite song off of MIAM is "Cry". She said that she knows it isn't a hit and proceeded to give whatever reason why it's her favorite. I don't remember the reasons she gave.

by Abraham from USA

I wonder if Mariah is going to be singing the song on her tour? I would love it if she did. I don't think she's ever sang it live. Correct me if I'm wrong? I don't know why some people don't like it, or think her voice sounds "dry" or "ugly". That's not true at all. I for one love the song and think she sounds amazing. It's one of my favorites. Too bad there was no video. Also, anyone else wonder what is Mariah's favorite song from "MIAM"? If I had to guess, I'd go with "Cry" or "Heavenly".

As far as I'm concerned, there were never any rumors of Dwanye and Mariah dating. They never were seen together again after the "Hercules" premiere. Although some of things you posted about Dwanye are true. You can't speak for everyone. And I have nothing personal against him. I can tell he's a good man with a good heart, but I just couldn't see him with Mariah. He has someone anyways. And I stand by what I posted. Wanting a new relationship should be the furthest thing on her mind as of now. Not only is it "too soon". She has more important things she should be focusing on. If she was retired, it'd be a different story. But she's not. She needs to worry about getting her voice back in shape. And as good and strong as she possibly can. She's touring so people are going to be expecting to hear her not only sing live, but good. At least I would. I know if I was a music legend like Mariah and my career went down, I was having issues with my voice and got a divorce. Wanting a new relationship would be the last thing on my mind. I'd be focused on working on my voice, music and being more successful. I hope I don't sound like a jerk or rude, because some should more and less know by my posts that I loveMariah. I just want to see her achieve a little more.

Um. Ok. That took a lot of effort. With many of the other ramblings that folk post on the site, homage to favorite Mariah songs regardless of what appears on them, is choice of expression. If you don't like it, don't read it. Plain and simple. No need to be shady.

I often thought Mariah did the polar opposite (46,912)
by Michele from USA
| |
|
|
There are so many extreme opposites between Mariah's two marriages. Besides the age difference, there's also the length of engagement. I think Mariah and Tommy were engaged for almost two years, while Mariah and Nick were only engaged for what, five days? Mariah and Tommy's wedding was this huge production with so many guests and something like 26 flower girls. (My apologies if my facts are not all straight; I'm at work, ha ha.) Her wedding to Nick was very small and intimate with only like 12 guests. It's almost like she really made it a point to be so different from her first marriage.

Here's a little fun trivia for your Tuesday. The Rock is a local celebrity in my hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He graduated from one of our high schools, Freedom High School, which is only about 13 km from my house. He's pretty much the #1 celebrity in this area, along with Mario Andretti (for any of you who follow race car driving). And now we return you to your regularly scheduled Tuesday, already in progress.

Media on Mimi's lovelife (46,909)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
I generally don't like, in fact, I try to refrain from commenting on Mariah's lovelife out of respect for her, I guess, since she's a celebrity and even stars like them should at the very least have their personal relationships to themselves especially since every other part of their lives is out in the open, even if they as people are public domain. So I'm fine with who Mariah wants to be with, whether I like the person or not, or whether the timing is right or not. Whatever makes her happy is great. I just hate how the media overblows everything about her lovelife. I mean I'm no stranger to the internet or how it works, and that the rumors of her getting closer with other celebs may very well be true, but the super-sensationalized headlines just make it seem like she's on the prowl for a new boytoy. There's nothing wrong if she's looking for love right now, it's just that the media spins it in a way that makes her look like hot on the heels of her separation, she has moved on so quickly from a 6-year marriage, as if she didn't value it at all. I know Nick is surrounded by the same rumors as well, but I just care about Mariah here. Let Nick do his thing and be the one to be talked about in a negative light. That being said, I hope Mariah will find the one someday, other than the kids she's got to show for, she's been quite unlucky in love. However this turns out, I'm just glad she has her kids, and that we can always hear everything through her music.
