Meteorite live (45,785) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
I'll start off by saying it's one of the best songs on the album and so unexpected. It's like Mariah doing a Madonna better than Madonna does her. As for the performance, I don't know if it was lipped and I'm not sure I care. I loved watching this, I had a smile on my face the whole time, and the final whistle gave me life. Whenever I see Mariah now, I'm no longer watching an artist rise and fight her way to the top. I'm seeing a legend. And I fall in love with her all over again. Thank you Mariah. You are phenomenal.

Meteorite (45,784) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
What a disappointment. I never really got into this song but I know a lot of fans love it. What was she doing? She was standing so stiff, not a single move, not even a hip sway. The singing was definitely not live, it was basically the album version playing and at the end she added a whistle. I don't have a problem if she lip synchs, just make it believable, put an effort to maybe lip synch to a slightly different version than the original. And since she was lip synching she could have at least moved around the stage. Bust a move or two. Just simple moving around would do like FLAB at Grammys. Where is the energy? If she can't dance in heels anymore just leave it and wear something comfortable. She looked good, the dress was sexy without being vulgar, everything was going good. But the performance was bad.

Shelly (45,780) by Abraham from USA
Really, that"s cool. I thought I was the only one. It's nothing personal against Celine. I think she has an amazing voice, and I like some of her songs. But I just would have preferred Mariah to have sung with R. Kelly in "I'm your angel". It's her type of song. And the gospel chorus in the end is so Mariah. I'm hoping Mariah saved "I'll still be around" or "Save the day" for whatever next she plans on releasing. Those 2 two songs based on their titles sound like they would be a ballad or gospel type song. (If they are actual songs)? Right now I'm really feeling and enjoying "Heavenly". I love it. I love when Mariah does these type of songs. No other artist today record this type of music. (At least I don't think they do?) I'm not very religious, but I just have a thing for gospel songs. And Mariah always does a great job. Someone needs to tell her to do a whole gospel album. It's good to know that other fans want the same thing.

(45,778) by Brad Catoe from United States
But I agree not worth the wait. I didn't even watch the whole performance. What's the point? I could play iTunes lol. Anyways she better not be lipping when she tours this time. The would not be cool. One of the best concerts I have ever been to was Angel's Advocate in Vegas. Her voice was amazing, but it still pissed me off that she lipped Angels Cry. Her voice was in such stellar condition, why lip? I know it's normal for performances to be lipped in Europe, but it's always disappointing. I know Mariah can still sing live, but maybe it's more difficult for her to be in goof voice these days? That could make touring difficult.

Mariah and her lately "glued shoes" (45,777) by May from Denmark
First gonna kick in with my two fav remixes, those got to be My All/Stay A While and I Still Believe feat. Bone and Da Brat. Those two never get old and I never get tired of listening to. They are awesome.
About the performance of Meteorite - my fav song from her latest album because I love the house vibe - I'm actually more disappointed with the fact that Mariah' shoes keep being glued on the stage rather than more disappointed by the less than half true singing. The dress was lavish, super fabulous, I totally loved the way she looked. I keep having this issue with her performances the last years, she hardly moves at all. All she does is stand in front of the mic. I remember one of the things that made me love her so much was that incredible energy on the stage, always coming and going, always looking strong and powerful. I don't know what's going on, are her 10 inches platform shoes more important now? She walked (with help) from one mic to another mic and that was it. I loved seeing her but I was expecting more, overall with such a song. I enjoyed near the ending.

Meteorite at WMA (45,776) by JC from UK
Am I the only one who thought the wait was not worth it? I mean I thought she would've sang atleast 50% of the song live because it's a bit of an odd song to sing with all the effects and whatnot but it seemed like she only sang like 10 words in total. It was the usual performance, she added a couple of whistles in there to make it different to make non-fans alike think that it's live but, meh. Also, I do hope MC makes a stop in UK on her upcoming tour. I'm sure she will since she's said a bunch of times how she loves it here.

My fantasy Mariah covers (45,775) by Abraham from USA
I thought I'd share some of the songs I'd wish Mariah would cover. Either now, or maybe back in her prime. I hope some of you know and like some of these songs? My favorite cover by Mariah is "Open arms".
1) Dq "I do love you"
2) Bobby Caldwell "What you won't do for love"
3) Whitney Houston "You give good love to me" or "Take good care of my heart"
4) George Benson "Never give up on a good thing"
5) Stevie Wonder "Overjoyed"
6) The Carpenters "(They long to be) Close to you"
7) Michael Jackson "You are not alone"
8) Patti Labelle "If only you knew"
9) The supremes "Love is here and now you're gone"
10) Billy Porter "Love is on the way" or "Preferably back in '97 or '98"

Abraham (45,774) by Dove from USA
George Michael or Stevie Wonder would be good because they're right up there with her in talent. I don't know many songs by the other artists you listed outside of their hits. I thought the same thing when that R Kelly song came out, that Mariah would have sounded better than Celine.

Divorce (45,773) by Ken from USA
I really hope they don't divorce. I saw that when Nick was asked about it he responded with "no comment". This makes me very nervous. Although it did say he "reportedly" said that.

Gospel album (45,772) by B from USA
I hope she does. Fly Like A Bird and I Wish You Well are Gospel lite. If she does do it I hope she includes covers of traditional hymns along with original material. Great topic for a Sunday.

The World Music Awards (45,771) by PJW from The U.K.
Have just started on U.K. T.V. and as we know, Mariah opened the ceremony with Meteorite. With the occasional moment of singing over the track it was a mimed performance of the album version. The track was turned off at the end so she could sing the last note and a whistle note which was pretty raspy. She barely moved, with the exception of the usual dancer helping her down the step to the front of the stage where she put the mic back into its stand. Underwhelming all round. She did look lovely though and her size didn't matter, the dress looked nice and she was, as ever, more decorated than a Christmas tree. Her awards were presented by J.D. who struggled to find words and, to be honest, looked like he'd rather be elsewhere. Again, she looked gorgeous in the mesh dress, irrelivent of her size, and sung a tiny bit of "Dedicated". I'm sure you'll all see this online soon anyway.

Best (45,770) by B from USA
Mariah's best covers are Without You and I Still Believe. Not to mention the countless samples and interpolations she's done. The only misstep in her entire career was sampling Cameo's Candy for Loverboy.

mimilamb (45,769) by TJ from Norway
I don't know the set list. I don't think I said so either. What I said was that I hope for something new to her concerts, because it has been quite the same over the years. I miss songs from Glitter, and other songs from her catalog. Why so aggressive?

Tour (45,768) by Bill from the UK
All this news of the tour is exciting, and seeing the dream set list a few posts ago, I've realised it's near on impossible to compile a set list of a realistic concert length. I love all of her songs so much, I'd be happy with whatever she chose to sing. How can you condense 25 glorious years into an hour and a half? I know she usually only sings it in season, but I'd love for every concert to end with AIWFCIY. Globally, it's her most loved and known song. It was inspired when she sang it in Tokyo in the middle of summer. Everyone would end their evening on a high.

Forgot to mention (45,765) by Haiji Toro from USA
Of course Meteorite should definitely be included in that concert set list somewhere. Give me your opinions on where it should be and if it should even be part.

R&B junkie (45,762) by Bill from the UK
I second your post, completely agree with your list. I would have added I Still Believe (Pure Imagination Remix) to it as well because as with My All/Stay Awhile it was an entirely new song with that beautiful dreamy vibe and has absolutely nothing in common with the original except the title.

Fav albums / songs / videos and opinions / ideas / overall (45,761) by Haiji Toro from USA
So I've been a fan of this site since the beginning and a Mariah listener since VOL and I will continue listening no matter what. Her talents are far from comparable or gone unnoticed. I will always support my girl Mariah. Top 5 videos:
Anytime You Need A Friend (Remix)
O Holy Night
All I Want For Christmas (60's version)
The Roof
My All/Stay Awhile
Opinions: I feel Mariah is at a different stage in her life and career so she cannot still be the same person she used to be. She might have issues with the company or her husband but that's something she's dealing with at this point, which could be reasons for how this last album turned out. It's definitely one of her best. An underrated album I think, Glitter. I love her live versions of songs, she always brings something different to the songs. I don't care if she does lip all or parts, it's still her singing. Sometimes we have days when we can't produce a certain amount of vocal ability. I love the fact that she uses big words in her lyrics, it's always helped me learn a new word and extended my vocabulary lol as silly as it sounds, it's true. I started writing poetry and then songs at 17 imagining I was writing for her. I also used big words lol. I can't remember ever answering questions about my childhood or past without having to think of what Mariah album was out that year lol she has been in my life since I was 10 and with every album she has helped me cope with what I've been through. Even at such a young age dealing with some sort of pain but somehow a Mariah song comforted the soul. Even now at 32, Faded and Heavenly seem to still hit the spot. She's a true inspiration to me. I hope she continues to release music for our "eardrums".
Ideas: Rerelease MIAMTEC with new songs and videos. Release a rare and unreleased album. An unplugged or acoustic video album, the long awaited Christmas movie, a children's album. Write, produce, direct and act in a children's movie. A covers album, a triple deluxe 3 disc album with different themes (Hip Hop / Dance / Adult Contemporary). Commercials for her products playing her music, a new and different concept and set list for her concert. My dream concert set list:
You Don't Know What To Do
Heartbreaker (Remix)/If You Should Ever Feel Lonely
Shake It Off
Thirsty
Long Ago
Prisoner
Standing O
H.A.T.E.U. (Remix)

Top 10 MC remixes (45,760) by IheartMC from USA
No one does remixes like our girl, so here are my 10 fave Mariah remixes:
1. My all stay awhile (This remix is timeless.)
2. Thank God I found you/Make it last (One of my faves and I love how she blended both tracks making it one of her best remixes/covers ever.)
3. Heartbreaker/if you should ever be lonely (If you should ever be lonely alone makes this remix worthy.)
4. Anytime you need a friend C&C remix (The original was epic but this remix took it up another notch.)
5. I still believe Morales mix/Pure imagination (I love both versions so much better and she recorded some new vocals.)
6. We belong together DJ Clue mix (Classic remix, she is made for these types of records.)
7. Fantasy feat ODB/Morales Mix (Both are amazing in my book, she is truly the queen of the remix.)
8. The one So So Def mix (Underlooked gem, the hook alone is worthy.)
9. Dreamlover Def Morales mix (Such a great dancing track and completely different from the original.)
10. Always be my baby So So Def Mix (I find myself listening to this often now.)

Shelly (45,759) by Abraham from USA
I am completely with you on Mariah doing a whole worship/gospel album. I have been wanting this from her for awhile now. I'd also like for her to record at least one jazz type song. Maybe similar to "The wind". Just piano and vocals. A duets album would be great too. The artists I'd like Mariah to record with would be George Michael (for sure), Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, John Legend, and maybe R. Kelly, just to name a few. The song "I'm your angel" with Celine Dion should have been sung with Mariah. It's her type of song, and I think she could have sung it better. Nothing against Celine. I just think Mariah has always had a far better voice. Even though some of the artists who I listed are older now, I'd still want them to give it their all. I'm sure they like Mariah.

Top 10 MC Sad Love songs (R&B/Mid-Tempos) (45,758) by IheartMC from USA
I am in a Mariah state of mind so why not promote some more of her amazing and often overlooked material. The following songs are some of my fave sad love songs whether in mid-tempo or ballad form.
1. Roof (One of my all time fave Mariah joints, I love the dark and moody vibe and the storytelling.)
2. Breakdown (Gem of a song right here.)
3. Crybaby (I love how she experimented on this record to great results.)
4. Always be my baby (Classic Mariah and began a trend of hit songs from her and JD.)
5. We belong together (Classic and a champion song.)
6. You're Mine (Eternal) (I had to select this song as Mariah actually named me on her FB a runner up for my duet with her during a contest with Fusic.com.)
7. For The Record (I mean what fan doesn't love this song.)
8. Faded (I can't get enough of this amazing new track.)
9. H.A.T.E.U. (Such a great hook and relatable lyrics, try getting this hook out of your head.)
10. Don't forget about us (Classic heartbreak record about our first love.)
11. Can't let go (So hard not to include this in any of her lists as this is one of her best songs from her catalogue.)
Honorable mention: So Lonely (Part II), Thanx 4 Nothin, Mine Again, Don't Forget About Us, Circles, Inseparable, Angels Cry (she has way too many amazing songs to narrow down).

Top 10 Hip Hop Mariah Carey bangers (45,757) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Arranging them in order would take me all day, so mine are:
Fantasy (Remix) - The first will always be her best.
Dedicated - This one's her most successful thug-love track since 1995, and "oh baby, you know" it.
Honey - Her best song of the summer.
So Lonely (One And Only Pt. II) - Sleek, slinky, and incredibly club-ready.
Migrate - Who says Mariah and autotune won't work?
Ribbon - Such a lazy yet dreamy melody.
Heartbreaker - Layering 3 hooks towards the end of it is just pure genius.
It's Like That - The hit that ushered in an epic era.
I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time (Remix) - It's a crime this didn't fare well at the charts.
Breakdown - Still one of the top highlights of her entire career.
Crybaby - So fly because it sounds so appropriately sly.
Honorable mentions:
Cruise Control - Mimi pon de mic with Jamaican patois.
Up Out My Face (Remix) - Before all the drama, Nicki did make this track much more interesting.
Thirsty - Mariah does trap, matches the song's message perfectly.
Side Effects - Love the menacing production against uber-personal lyrics. This predates Rihanna's similarly dark Rated R album.
