That ABMB performance is everything. (Even though the bridge was lipped. ) I still give her props though for singing 95% of the song live. I'll never doubt MC. I can't wait for her concert here.

Thank you RJJ12 for posting ABMB rehearsal (47,397) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I loved it and actually hadn't seen it before. I realize that the stuff in China and Japan has not been the best vocal performances of her career, I get that. I'm not making excuses, I just don't think it is as dire as some are perceiving it to be (ie MC should retire ect). I know she's being paid, and I get that some are tired of what they feel are excuses or "having to defend her" in the face of bad publicity or whatever else, but you know, we're all at choice and there's no rule that says fans must defend Mariah. For those that have grown tired of it, I say let go of the stress, and just don't do it if you don't want to, or don't feel it is justified. For me, personally, I was 12 when VOL came out and Mariah is my fave female singer. That won't change based on what is or isn't going on with her voice. Yes, things have changed since 1990, and no I'm not a fan who feels Mariah is perfect. I think she's a human being, capable of being flawed and making mistakes like the rest of us. At the end of the day we don't know what has gone down for her despite the media commentary or her public appearances. Any claims are simply speculation based on what we think we know. At the risk of coming off like I am wearing rose coloured glasses, or being called a delusional fan, Mariah has always said music has been her saving grace and a source of healing. IMHO this is why she's touring right now. It is clear whatever transition she's going through has been hurtful/emotional and for me it isn't making an excuse to have compassion in your heart for people, even when they create their own experiences. If that makes me a "delusional lamb" well, I guess I am. Lol.

The current era (47,394) by Chase from USA
I know there has been a lot of discussion about everything going wrong with this era. It's true, this will not go down in history as Mariah's career peak. That said, I enjoyed watching the news footage of her concert in Beijing. It seems her road management is doing the right thing by scheduling shows in cities/countries where she rarely performs and is still very respected. I'm sure it is exciting for Chinese fans to get a handful of shows from a Western artist of her caliber. As far as the new album, I honestly think it is her best effort since her '90s heyday, even if it's her least successful commercially. She gave us everything we love about Mariah (I think): the vocals, the lyrics, the R&B production, the uptempo tracks, and the big ballads. I'm not a huge fan of the cover art, but I'll accept it as another "self-portrait" (showing Mariah as she sees herself) like the drawing on the back cover. She'll get through this rough patch, just listen to the conviction she has on "Heavenly" and the joy she is on "Supernatural".

Harry Nilsson (47,393) by Bill from the UK
The funny thing is Harry Nilsson wasn't even the original artist. It was originally done by a hardly known group called Badfinger, of which Ham and Evans were members. Nilsson changed the arrangement of the song quite noticeably, and Mariah covered "his version", if you will, much like how Michael Bolton mirrored Mariah's arrangements on his Christmas album for Joy To The World and O Holy Night. Lots of people think Nilsson is the writer and original artist because he wrote all his other songs and it was him who made the song popular. Before it was just an album track by an unknown group.

That old hag is always lying. In her last show she claimed Mariah gained weight. Looking at Beijing videos I can't see that.

Mariah's future (47,390) by Brendan Graham from Arizona
Ive been in love with Mariah's voice since the first time I heard her voice, She is amazing no doubt about it. I hate when people say here career is done, that she has nothing left in here. Ya she had a little trouble last week at the Tokyo concert but no one is perfect she is still amazing, she works so hard spending hours a day in the studio perfecting her music and it has shown, she is so amazing. Every time I hear her talk, sing, laugh it brings a smile to my face. She has many more years of greatness and her career is far from over.

So, Harry Nilsson was the writer? (47,388) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

So, I just saw an extended video of the Without You performance in Beijing and Mariah starts out by shouting out Harry Nilsson, as the songwriter. Did she legitemately forget about Pete Ham and Tom Evans? 00:09 "So, Harry Nilsson, he was the writer of this particular song." Did anyone else catch that? I tend to think Mariah said it on purpose to be funny, like how so many people think she remade AIWFCIY and didn't write the song herself. Well, at least she never personally claims writing credit for songs she didn't write.

Trish / Always Be My Baby Live (47,387) by 123 from USA

Trish, I used to feel the same way until I saw this performance. This rehearsal was way better than what was televised because those darn hosts ruined the beginning. This is as close to 90s as you are going to get. All live and she even went for the big notes at the end instead of lipping them. Enjoy.

Mariah was never gone, she never left (47,386) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
To all the loyal fans on this post, can you explain this? Mariah Carey worldwide iTunes performance, last update: 2014-10-11 20:50:05 EDT, Brunei Darussalam (36). Songs:
70. One Sweet Day 77. Always Be My Baby 78. We Belong Together 87. My All 97. Hero 98. Emotions 103. Breakdown 104. Touch My Body 105. Honey 106. Dreamlover 107. Love Takes Time 118. Supernatural 119. Thirsty 120. #Beautiful 135. The Roof 136. Fantasy 140. Breakdown 150. Rainbow 151. Petals 152. I'm That Chick 154. Babydoll 155. Heartbreaker 156. I Still Believe 157. I Know What You Want
Albums:
58. Mariah Carey: Greatest Hits 84. #1's 104. Against All Odds - EP
Mariah is also appearing in 37 more countries for her songs and albums and is ranked 176 on the worldwide chart. I feel content to say Mariah is not retiring. She is charting more now then when she released her album this year. I have said all along that despite certain fans critism, Mariah will sellout or close sellout her venues and spark interest in her music. It's finally working.

Trish / Always Be My Baby (47,385) by Bill from the UK
Whoa whoa whoa, hang on a second. ABMB is one of Mariah's greatest songs, and like AIWFCIY, it's a song both die hards and casual fans love. It changes the pace, it's mellow, popular, nostalgic, and I love it when Mariah gets the audience to join in with the "doo doo doops" at the end. I have on many occasions listened to that one song on repeat for hours on end. It never gets old and has never dated. It really is one of the best things she ever did.

Always Be My Baby (47,384) by Trish from USA
I don't like how Mariah sings this song live even when her vocals are on point. She's very casual with the song like she's thinking "oh this old song again" and she shortens the phrases with I don't think is very pretty. In the old days she slowed down the ending and I loved the soft high notes she'd use to close the song. If she's tired of singing it, sing something else. All the real fans have heard it a million times and honestly I'd rather hear almost anything else off of Daydream: I Am Free, Melt Away, Open Arms, Forever, Looking In, or When I Saw You. I think I Am Free is an appropriate song for this particular tour and is such a beautiful song.

Without you (47,382) by Jenny from South Africa
Without You has always been my favourite Mariah vocal of all time. I thoroughly enjoyed the clip below. My girl can still sing people. It really moved me. I'm not sure if Fantasy was totally live but it was so great to see her moving and having fun. And her outfit was so sexy in a cute and classy way. I loved everything about that outfit including her hairstyle. Mariah, you on fire. Thanks for posting all these Beijing clips everyone.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (47,381) by Isabelle from USA
I was looking through different sites to see if they have mention Mariah not being nominated for Hall of Fame and found nothing. Then I saw some site that has group of artists that yearly eligible for nominations and they Mariah for eligibility for next years round of nominees with the ceremony held for 2016 for the inductees. That sorta confused me a bit. I always thought that that if an artist got to be inducted to the Hall of Fame on their first year of eligibility it would have been on the 25 year career anniversary not the following year. Thoughts?

Tour setlist (47,379) by Dennis from Miami, FL
As a Mariah fan I would like to hear not more than one song like Fantasy Remix/Honey/Touch My Body/Heartbreaker at the concerts. It would be nice to split the show in two halves: MIAM songs and the hits. Or Jazzy, Hip-Hop, Ballads, Gospel, remixed versions etc. sections, like journey through time, styles, different Mariah eras. More Broadway vibe.

(47,378) by B from USA
Mariah Carey is my Idol. I'm not delusional but I'm not going to ever count her out or tell her what she should be doing. She's doing just fine. She's improving with each stop on her tour. How some people or so called fans can even question her talent is beyond me. Even without the voice she's still the best female songwriter, ever. She will most likely always hold the title of female writer/producer with the most #1's.

The tour, Nick, this era (47,377) by Ty from USA
I'm sorry the only person who won is [...]. He was an unknown d listed celeb before Mariah and we all know now he's worth 70 million 6 years later. To see him in various pics with these jump offs is disrespectful, giving these wack twitter and interview comments professing love for his wife is bleak, dude just shut up and bounce. The tour needed Fly Like A Bird, just like it needs the emotional mid tempo [...] which the fans love. [...] who cares she is usually doing a live sounding version so at least it appears new. The lambs are [...] wishy-washy they know her voice is damaged but the keep waiting for an 1990 [...] vocal moment, that is dead and gone. This is Mariah now. Accept it or bounce.

Latest clips (47,375) by Bill from the UK
AIWFCIY, Without You and Fly Like a Bird sound fantastic. I pray that Mariah will bring her tour to the UK, I would love to see her. I saw her in London for Daydream and Rainbow, but missed out during her Charmbracelet stop off. I so regret not being able to attend.

Farewell Nick (47,374) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Personally, I despise Nick. He used Mariah to the fullest. He was dishonest and a show-off. I don't like the videos he directed or anything he has relation to. And now he's using the divorce as a vehicle to get even more publicity. I like MOIA and MIA, great albums, so much under-appreciated. To me, it's mostly to the publicity she's got being related to Cannon. (Can you believe once he said that Kardashian's are the most "real, honest, down to earth" family in showbiz? ) I believe it's the end of decline.

New ways to improve her tour (47,372) by Haiji Toro from USA
In my opinion, here are my top 3 picks to improve her tour (I guess for the future concerts):
1. I understand the voice situation, but ok with lipping as long as I'm hearing a different version of the song. I don't expect her to be on point everyday. She was on point every day for more than a decade. Either way, I know it's her voice live or recorded. So, what I'm saying is that either she sings it live or lipping, it should always sound great.
2. Dancers and choreography. Either get newer and better routines that are more current and different or at least have her do a few dance steps with the dancers (ala Honey remix live). Also, because she's not really a dancer, a great approach would be a lot of stage props (ala Janet and Pink tours, no comparison to the artists, just talking about the stage and entertainment aspect).
3. And finally, the set list. Always the hits but make them minimal because us real fans know her whole albums. Let's hear "Prisoner", "And You Don't Remember", "Never Forget You", "Long Ago", "Outside", "Sweetheart", "After Tonight", "Lead The Way", "Subtle Invitation", "Circles", "For The Record", "Betch Gon' Know", "Right To Dream". And many more album cuts.
