kworb 2.0 (48,109) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I posted this link on Thursday but for some reason the webmaster thought fans didn't deserve to know. Here is the link to the new kworb. Mariah just went top 30 on iTunes.

Mariah (48,108) by B from USA
I'm so tired of the "Mariah's voice isn't what it used to be" comments. I still love Mariah and she's still making music and that's all I want for Christmas.

Reverse Charmbracelet era / similarities (48,107) by Darryle from USA
Has anyone else noticed how this era almost like a reverse Charmbracelet? Charmbracelet was trashed by critics while MIAM was received rave reviews. MIAM the tour started out with bad vocals and with each show the vocals got better. Charmbracelet tour started with strong vocals and ended with strong vocals. Charmbracelet had heavy promotion for what was considered a flop album with bad reviews. MIAM had little to no promotion for what is considered a flop album with great reviews. Both tours were in the fourth year of the decade. Hopefully both eras have similar endings were Mariah scores a top 3 hit in the fourth year of that decade and then goes on to release an album that will sell millions of copies and once again let her claim the throne as queen.

Mariah's voice (48,105) by Darryle from USA
Jon hit the nail on the head with what he said about Mariah's voice. It's not gone, it's not as strong as before but definitely not gone. That was proven not only with Jon's video but with this tour. I think Mariah drinks a lot more than she used to. Maybe because of marital problems I don't know, but I believe it's taken a toll on her voice. She probably does lack a lot of the discipline she had earlier in her career. I don't think she does the vocal rest or humidifiers as much as she used to. I do feel like it was getting stronger with each concert show though. So maybe there's hope.

Writing credits (48,104) by Darryle from USA
Does anyone know the true writing credits for Mariah's music? On the internet it says all songs with Walter A. are cowritten. In CDs it says that Mariah wrote all lyrics by herself and he came up with the music. Later albums like TEOM have all songs as cowritten. This I don't doubt because she collaborates more now. Mariah once said that she would come up with melody and then call in a pianist to play chords for her as she sang. She would later go home and write the lyrics. If that was true why is Walter A. considered a cowriter on most of her early albums?

Can Mariah still handle it live? (48,103) by Jon from Netherlands

Most of us accept Mariah's voice is not as good as it used to be but the "Always be my baby" segment at minute 7 made me think for a second that her voice is actually better now. Unfortunately the "Obsessed" segment took that illusion away. I do believe (as many others) that without the drinking and with a lot of discipline her voice could remain outstanding for the rest of her days (not far from what it was at her prime). I think our Mimi lost a bit of discipline and ability to sacrifice herself for her voice (the drinking is undeniable). It's still her choice and she has the right to exercise it but it makes me sad. The last tour proved that when she felt her reputation could be in jeopardize she immediately uped her game and regained some discipline (I assume she took better care of her voice and controlled herself a bit more). Some people when criticized get depressed, Mariah gets to work and that's why she still has a lot to offer.

Mariah in Disney film? (48,102) by Billy from England, UK
I read that there is a Frozen 2 in the works, and seen you guys down below say it would be great to hear Mariah in a film, well maybe she could sing the main song for Frozen 2?

G.G. (48,101) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Your idea is perfect. I loved it. Both the suggestions were awesome and so different. Disney and other animated movies are really doing well right now and giving artists a lot of exposure like Pharell for Despicable Me. It could really give Mariah the platform to gather new fans and also show people how diversified she can be. I would love to see MC in a glamorous action role. There were rumors long time back that she was being considered as a bond girl and what not, I don't know if it is true, but yes, I would definitely be the first in line to watch MC in a big budget action flick.

Disney (48,098) by Marissa from USA
G.G., I think your Disney idea is genius. I think the general public sees Mariah as too predictable, so a Disney movie would be a great way to shake things up and become even more relevant than she already is. This could be her new niche. Maybe if MC starts doing children's movies the "eternally 12" thing won't irritate people as much lol.

MC's next ventures (48,097) by G.G. from USA
I would like to see Mariah team up with Disney and do a movie, like Frozen with Idina Menzel, where she voices the main character and does the entire soundtrack. That would get her name out there, big time and it would get the young kids interested in Mariah's music. I would also like to see Mariah do a huge blockbuster action movie. Like a Marvel studios type of movie, where she plays an Agent M. from the Honey video type of character. We already know she can do the dramatic roles, it would be nice to see something a little different from her.

Mary-Ann Tatum (48,096) by Billy from Greece
Apart from Mariah, Mary-Ann has worked with two other legendary divas: Whitney (as I mentioned some time ago), and Diana Ross, on the latter's 1999 great "Every Day Is a New Day" cd. Hm, interesting.

Mariah's next move (48,095) by B from USA
I think Mariah should record a gospel or jazz album next. Forget about the charts and the critics and just go for it. She has nothing left to prove except to those who constantly dismiss her and her talent. Mariah needs to make people miss her. Nick and his mouth have caused Mariah to become over exposed to the public. He's been an unrelenting presence in public since their marriage in 2008. He took full advantage of being Mr. Mariah. He's never shut up about it and is still talking.

Christmas in Disneyland, 10 years ago (48,091) by M from UK

I almost cannot believe it's been a decade since this performance. Fawless, 100% live, magical to say the least. Happy Thanksgiving to all and thoughts and prayers go to all native Americans on their day of mourning.

MTV Unplugged (48,089) by S from
I agree about what enwar00 said about the MTV unplugged, so great and the added intro of Emotions is just perfect. I wish I had been young during that era instead of now, so many great artists, songs, performances, you name it.

Mariah singing jazz and unplugged (48,088) by ADAM from USA
Thanks Nikki for that video. That was such a great performance. I love how natural and comfortable she is singing jazz. It seems like the perfect compliment to her natural voice and plus it gives her the perfect platform to show off her funny personality. I think she would blow all the haters away with another MTV-like unplugged performance where it's her and acoustics singing her music stripped down with 1 simple outfit and her connection to her fans.

MCIIY (48,085) by Bill from the UK
Great to read all the posts about this great album. Mariah described MC as Christmas by day, and MCIIY as Christmas by night, and she was completely right. The second album is much more chilled, mellow and I always listen to it with the lights low and a (half) bottle of wine by my side. The original songs are brilliant. I hope for "Under the Merry Christmas III" (great title someone mentioned a while back) the entire album is self composed Christmas songs, as she has a great ability to capture the different moods, feelings and timelessness associated with the season.

I can't believe that guy tells her to take it off. This performance just proves how sorely we're in need of more live specials.

MCIIY (48,082) by R&B Junkie from Poland
I also love this album, even more than the 1994 release. It sounds less commercial and more soulful than the former Christmas album. Even though I'm a big fan of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and other songs from "Merry Christmas", listening to MCIIY gives me the true chills. My fav tracks are: HCSC and CTIITAA. I can listen to them even in the middle of the summertime. Honestly, I love every Mimi's albums of the 2000's. Glitter was old-skool and funky, Charmbracelet was for listening in bedtime, TEOM was like a fresh air, E=MC2 was for partyings, Memoirs were for days of "me, myself and I", MCIIY was for warming the heart and "Elusive" was for the nostalgia.

Mariah as a musician (48,081) by Jon from Netherlands
So the general public sees Mariah as a blonde bimbo that was gifted with a great voice. Mariah and the lambs try to change this image and insist that she writes her own lyrics and she is indeed an amazing songwriter. What I don't understand is why there is no recognition of Mariah as a musician. She composes brilliant melodies. Afanasieff said he never met anyone with so much music inside. It's probably her biggest talent (and that's saying a lot since she has the best voice ever recorded, IMHO). Why isnt there any focus on this? Even a goofy song like "Touch my body" translated to a simple piano is beautiful. Not to mention much better songs than that. "I wish you well" is brilliant just as an instrumental song. This is her biggest gift and she should be refered first as a composer. Her musicianship really shines through when she improvises. She not only knows what fits a song but what takes the song to another level. I don't wanna sound like a blind lamb, I just find her amazing as a musician and I can't find others as good as her. Sorry but there aren't.
