Daydream's video so sweet (46,351)

I love that video you posted here, I don't know if you made it or somebody else, but its the sweetest thing. I know Nick loves her and he always talks about it like seen on the video so he gotta do whatever to make it work. You know what, I'm going to copy that video and post it on twitter so hopefully it blows up and starts trending and maybe, just maybe Nick Cannon will see it. I would love it if you all are with me. My twitter is @bfotch.

Now we know the kind MC married into (46,350)
by jaker20 from US

Not only is Nick going to talk, it looks to me that his family is just like him. And most likely cash in on her failed married. Yeah, I'll be a broken record to say I never liked Nick, but here it is for the world to see why, unfolding right before our eyes. Guess what, MC is classy enough not to bring this family matter to the media and public. Unfortunately the other half isn't like her.

This is the sweetest thing ever for you (or whoever did) to compile this together. My heart is going out to their entire family right now. I hope they can come to realize that no matter what, all marriages have their ups and downs, and that although resiliency is hard to find at times, the journey to get there only makes you (as a person, a couple, or a family as a whole) stronger than you could ever be. Mariah has inspired us tremendously always with the inspirational pieces she makes throughout her career. I hope she finds her inner hero to come along to save her family and remembers that nobody can take that away from her.

Dear everyone (46,348)

So many things happen in our lives. Christmas and birthdays, love and heartbreak, illness and death. It's all part of life. One thing I get strongly from listening to Mariah is that she's a strong woman. Someone who is able to express themselves, either via speaking to a friend or writing a song, is a strong person. It means they aren't burying their head in the sand. Acceptance is part of grief, and grief is normal and healthy. I believe Mariah is stronger than the sum of what we know of her, and she will be fine. For bless, Mariah, and we're all here for you. As a final note, I just want to say, whenever a marriage breaks down, usually it's both parties have a part to play and "the blame game" is not helping anyone. Let's just support our idol and not get involved with blaming she or he. It's not our life, or business. Whatever either says is their own version of events. We can have our own opinion, I just politely suggest being non-judgemental.

Wishing Mariah all the best (46,344)

I just want to express my love and support to Mariah. This is such a sad turn of events. I hope she is doing fine and that she has people around her, close family and friends, to stand on her side at this difficult time. I can't believe Nick Cannon has proven to be such a low class person, badmouthing his wife and mother of his children to the whole world. I never liked him in the first place but he was her choice and she seemed happier than ever. Mariah deserves so much better than him.

Mariah and family are certainly in my thoughts and prayers now. Although none of us who follow her work, and we're acquainted with many details of her life via "celebrity" we can't really ever claim to "know" her. Her music has been a huge part of my life's soundtrack since I was 12 when (Vision Of Love came out). The lack of promotion makes sense. Perhaps folks will cut her some slack during such a transition period. As Stacey mentioned, it takes two in a marriage and both Nick and Mariah are co-creators of their personal experience. No one is to blame, it just is what it is. Pretty telling that "It's a wrap" and "Betcha Gonna know" are on the deluxe version of MIAMTIC. That's not an accident. I have to say I respect her choice not to do a promo blitz for the record. I know it upset many lambs, but seriously, how would she genuinely promote this album without taking about the songs and potentially making the whole thing about "airing dirty laundry"? Her song lyrics on the album are clearly cathartic expression for her. Like a musical diary. Sending love to everyone involved.

I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning (that "Camouflage" is this album's "Petals"). It saddens me that she writes her best songs when she's sad/upset.

I'm with you on that. I was listening to Camouflage on the drive to work this morning and I could feel the pain and it makes sense (now that we know about the marriage troubles) and I thought how close I feel even more to her because she is giving us a little piece of her life that she is experiencing. Thirsty came on a few songs after then I thought it also made sense. Nick is Thirsty for fame and was taking gigs left and right. I remember somewhere I think it was on her twitter chat she had when the album came out saying she likes to keeps things slightly vague so each person who is experiencing it can relate. Then later there was some footage shot where Nick said Thirsty was about him and Mariah was like I don't know where he got that from.

Nowhere but down (46,340)

I have know idea what Mariah's going to do after all of this over. It must be so emotionally and physically draining on her. With Nick and his dad commenting on her health and the kids. Then there's all the people on the internet that couldn't give a rat's a** about Mariah before, but the moment they hear she's separated they think they know something about her insecurities or the way she acts outside of the public eye. I only see this going downhill. Hopefully I'm wrong and Mariah can find solace and peace in her fans, dem babies, her family, and the Lord.

Did you know that Mariah's name is actually Maria? Ma-rye-ah is the true English pronounciation of Maria. As the world became more connected the Latin pronounciation has been commonly adopted. One could argue that Mariah is a name in its own right, however we know that Patricia named her after the musical "They call the wind Maria", itself spelt correctly but pronounced with Rye-ah. [Webmaster: Actually, the musical is called "Paint your wagon", and in it is a song called "They call the wind Maria".]

I've watched that performance like 3 times this week. It's one of my favorite performances. My all time favorite performance is from '05 at the BET blueprint where she sang "Vision of love". She had so much energy and was confident. I know Lorde and Taylor Swift, but don't listen to them. But I think they're okay. With everything that's going on in Mariah's life, I wish her the best. Like you stated in one of your posts. I too want another successful era. Something tells me that she's going to bring it with the next album (hopefully). Let's just wait and see. It's going to be interesting what she is going to name the album now with what is happening with her and Nick. I actually like the "MIAMTEC" album title and cover.

When the album came out I was surprised of the tone. I was expecting it to be happy and upbeat because she was supposed to have it all. Now we know. I too have been listening to the album more closely, especially the lyrics. I definitely think that Cry., Faded and Camouflage are about Nick. And Thirsty. Even before the separation rumours, I always thought it was fitting. I think Mariah denied it but come on. Mariah has written very personal songs about difficult subjects before. It creeps in. I think the album is brilliant. It's some of her best work, hands down. The only songs I'm not crazy about are Supernatural, Meteorite and YME.

Okay I don't like Nick Cannon. Never have. Especially when he constantly says "my wife" instead of "Mariah" as if he has something to prove. However, Nick and Mariah's marriage problems do not, all of a sudden, mean that she should be more respected for the disaster that was MIAM. Nick didn't cause her to release terrible videos, release the worst song on the album as a single, hire yes-men as managers, [censored], lip-sync badly, guest-star on her own songs, make wearing a dress in a subway the only promotion or an album you spent years on, neglect the fans.

Rediscovering MIAM (46,334)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
I have to say I am falling more in love with MIAM now that news of marriage troubles has come to light. What a fantastic and sad album too. I can't help but feel so sad for Mariah after listening to Camoflauge. The song reminds me so much of Petals. She thought that finally she had found a happy marriage, kids, family life, etc. People can say Butterfly is her most vulnerable album. But, after all that's gone on in the past week, MIAM might just might bump Butterfly off that top spot, IMO. I've been letting every song play one after the other and you can see why the sequencing was so important. Brilliant talent.

I could not agree more with your last post. Mariah Carey is a brand that will never go away. Her legacy is set in stone. Numbers don't lie. It seems after a struggle, MC always comes back and knocks down the naysayers. MC's career/direction/focus has been off since marrying Nick Cannon. I was skeptical of the marriage, but gladly ate crow because she genuinely looked happy. With having kids, as a fellow parent (my son was born 2 weeks before M&M), I was glad she got the chance to experience being a mom. It's the great job on earth. But, some of the things he's said about their relationship I've stated here should have remained private. I've trying not to dig too hard on Nick, though. I hope he'll do the right thing and tell his parents to shut up and let Mariah move forward. The difference with this divorce then with Tommy is now there are kids involved. I hope Nick and Mariah can be friends. Ironic MC was also 3 when her parents divorced.

Well, Nick himself confirmed it on The Insider (46,332)
by jaker20 from US

What other proof some of you guys want? They're not entitled to explain us the details in a tell-all interview on CNN or some sort. Nick himself said The Insider that they've been living apart for awhile now and there's trouble in paradise. That's straight from him and his big mouth and that should be more than enough. If the separation isn't true, he would be outright denying it or at least working on fixing his marriage right about now, and say something along those lines: "We're working things out." Making an official announcement of a divorce is tacky and tasteless especially when there's kids involved. If this is indeed true, I would rather this issue kind of just fade away without media hoopla, so the paps, media and fans would leave them alone until they are comfortable to talk. But I know that'll be difficult, because clearly Nick is itching to give us more information than we need.

I do hope that these are just rumors. It would be really sad if Nick's "statements" are really true. Whatever may be the cause of the divorce, they should not throw dirt at each other because at one point of time they made each other really happy. So I hope these rumors are fake. I would hate it if it turns out that Nick married Mariah for the fame/money because seeing them so in love kind of made me think (contrary to my initial doubts) that he did love her. Another thing may have happened is that he married his idol and got tired of the "human" Mariah, the real person. Which sucks, I think Mariah despite her flaws is a great person.

Divorce inaccuracies/ gossip (46,329)

Has anyone been reading/watching what the "news" sites are saying about Mariah? They are painting her like some needy housewife without any relevance, while showing Nick as the victim of her diva wrath. I can't believe all of this slander. The Breakfast Club people (who were kissing ass when she was there) are now saying that Mariah is irrelevant and "hasn't sold a record since 1990", while saying Nick "won". It seems to me that almost everyone believes that Mariah is some horrible diva who shouldn't be mad about Nick's past relationships and is dumb for being mad about him working. Ugh. I am so so so pissed at all of this. People can be so shallow. We know nothing about the situation, so I wish they would shut up. I cannot wait until Mariah's statement. I cannot wait until she sets everything straight and shuts up all these haters. But until then, what I love to see is all lambs have put aside the trivialities and united in support of Mariah. Amidst all of the arguments over promo, sales, her reputation, etc., at the end of the day, we all love her and it's beautiful to see. I really hope she knows that.

I love this performance. It's one of my favorites of hers. As far as the vocalists you mentioned: I like Leona Lewis too, she seems really sweet and she can sing. I'm surprised she's not more famous. I love Kelly Clarkson, ever since American Idol, she just seems like such a cool, down to earth person, and her voice is super powerful. I like Ariana Grande's voice, I love her YouTube cover of Where the Boys Are. I liked Lady Gaga's first album and the song Speechless but haven't bought anything of hers in a while. She just got too Halloween-y for my taste. I wonder if they will ever revive Divas Live? That would be cool to watch. The other current artists I love right now are Lorde and Taylor Swift. I love Taylor's vibe and that she seems humble and real and her songs are fun. I like that she's not overly sexual like the other young stars. Lorde's music doesn't sound like anything that's out right now. Honestly, I love all kinds of music. Right now I'm more into the light, being content with yourself, happy stuff.

All of this divorce BS should be taken with a grain of salt. You'll notice this is still all the same gossip of the past 2 years, none of it changed, it just became more embellished. The "Mariah's unstable" crap is revisiting the old classics. It must be a slow news week. Nick only made one comment to a friend which has been blown out of proportion. On the "insider" with Yahoo, no less, one of Nick's friends had recently talked to Nick. He simply stated that he and MC were going through a "rough patch" and they were currently living separately. Nothing about duration or divorce. The one thing MC has repeatedly said over this year about the "abandoner" is that he's never home. This could be nothing more than a Hollywood version of a wife making her husband sleep on the couch. I think Nick is using his career as an escape because he's having trouble coming to terms with his lupus and trying to keep busy so he doesn't have to deal with it. Ignoring his family is a side effect. Until Mariah or Nick and their people come forward with official statements everything read should be taken with a grain of salt.

How insensitive can you be? I saw the posts on FB before he took them down. He said some terrible things. Even if they were from his so called book, why choose the day your son confirms he is living apart from his famous wife to post them? I certainly hope Nick did not use his father to get some of his reasons out there since he may have a possible gag. They seem very shady, sorry. To quote Thirsty "the best thing that happened to your a** was me" seems ever so true. Mariah always called Nick the "abandoner" and if the rumors are true and he is using mental health now, why abandon your wife? What happened to better or worse, sickness and in health? If that's the case? Why do everything in your power to take on so many jobs, rather than be there for your wife? Especially of you are concerned for your kids. That does not sit well with me. Sounds like he is trying to be portrayed as the victim that could not take it anymore. Nick Cannon reminds me of a guy in high school that you regret fooling around with and then talks about you. He needs to grow the f*** up.

Unless I see a video of Mariah or Nick making statements of each other ("mental state", "toxic" lifestyle, cheating, etc), I will not believe these gossip sites. Stating "a source close to the star" is not enough for me to believe these outrageous stories. I feel intrusive wanting to know details now. It's so fresh. I hate to see Mariah speak of something so hurtful now. We will get Nick's side first as he tends to be a blabber mouth and can't keep anything to himself. Mariah will be elusive in the beginning about the whole thing. Years down the road she might speak of it. It took her a decade after her split with Tommy to speak more openly. When she did the Barbara Walters interview right after split from Tommy, she was evasive.
