MIAMTEC and "How to solve..." thoughts (44,796) by Lainsky from Philippines I hope the person in charge of her professionally should have read these suggestions. Somehow I agree with what Eckstine said last, the she might tone down the "va va voom" image and reunite with people he mentioned in doing music. Also the suggestion of creating a mature version of her old music without loosing her identity as an artist. I do not agree that she go to the Celine direction, she continues to create music but age and phase-of-her-life appropriate and audience. Doing "country" music, not sure with this but she can try. I wish she will do a full gospel album full of inspirational and Christian songs. That would be an amazing way to celebrate her 25th year in business. As for the latest album, IMO this is a slightly mature version of Butterfly and TEOM. "Thirsty" for me is nice but it seems to be out of place. I hope and pray this album will resuscitate by releasing singles with videos and here are my top 5 bets and why. 1. YDWTD - It's like Fantasy or Dreamlover, has a commercial appeal. 2. Meteorite - This is a good risk, new, fresh, sound relevant. 3. Thirsty or Faded - For her RnB audience. 4. One More Try - For her Pop audience. 5. Heavenly - Release it as the last single, of all her gospel songs this was the best. The last three songs can be released all at once as promo, radio, or ($0.49 again - lol just kidding but they used to do this). Again these are just thoughts with hope that it can happen. The Roof (44,795) by B from USA After hearing Pablo express his love your Side Effects I would like to mention The Roof. I think it's the best song ever written. It's been called the height of hip hop soul's elegance and I agree. The sample, her vocals and background vocals, the lyrics and that video. Mariah Carey is the lyricist of our generation. Isabelle (44,793) by Bill from the UK Most major labels wouldn't allow an artist to own the rights to their recordings. They may have to be consulted about any releases away from their jurisdiction but ultimately the songs would remain the property of the label. However they are usually open to allowing artists to buy the rights to their songs. The Christian singer Amy Grant did that a few years back and re-mastered and re-issued all her records digitally, which was great for fans as her older albums from the 70s and 80s were really sounding worn on vinyl and cassette. I know there is a likely a treasure trove of unused songs from both Sony and Universal. I'd give anything to hear them. (Monday 16 June 2014; 2:36)

"Heavenly" clicking noise? (44,791) by Johnny from United States I find myself having a hard time listening to Heavenly because of the clicking noise throughout the entire song. I really love the lyrics, vocals and production minus that weird noise. Am I alone in this? (Monday 16 June 2014; 0:24)

Top 5 (44,790) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales I love the album as a body of work, truly I think it is phenomenal. But I want to play this top 5 game haha which is kinda hard for me to do, but here goes. 5. Meteorite 4. Dedicated 3. Cry 2. Supernatural 1. Make It Look Good Ok, this was too difficult. Already I feel bad about missing out some amazing songs. So take this top 5 with a pinch of salt. I love them all. Special mention - if The Art of Letting Go had been included in the album proper, it would be 1. Vision of Love and The Art of Letting Go are my two favourite songs ever. (Monday 16 June 2014; 0:23)

Mariah's legacy (44,789) by Tony Dicarlo from USA The reason why I am so disappointed on how this whole era has unraveled is because of the negative impact it is having on MC's legacy. The media and the public can't wait to attack when a project flops and this project was a major flop, from beginning to end. MC deserves better. She has worked so hard to get to where she is and it just saddens and upsets me when I hear such negativity directed to an artiste like MC. I honestly love this album, I feel its from the heart, but it was mismanaged from the get go. The article in Billboard magazine, titled "How to solve the MC problem" hit the nail on the head. If MC would read that article, and all the posts on this site, then she can start moving in the right direction. Unfortunately, without a manager like Benny M, she simply cannot compete. I mean look at JLo, she is everywhere right now, not because she has more talent than MC, but because she listens to industry insiders who can guide her properly. I have been a fan since day one and I just want MC to be respected for what she has contributed to the music industry. With the right management and promotion, the lambs could have relished and truly enjoyed the quality of music that MC is capable of. I mean the album is out of the Hot 100. That is such a shame. Mariah still has so much potential, but needless to say, without the right team behind her, not of it will be realized. So Mariah may not be crazy after all (44,785) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was checking buzzfeed because well I was bored and once you get into buzzfeed you may end up being there for hours clicking from one article to another starting with "47 things about blah blah blah" to something as stupid as "The when will you die quiz". Ok so I didn't take the quiz about death. Anyways so there is a article making fun of how MC tried to pass off a picture from 1997 as a current picture, and I was like "oh lawd" people are catching on. But then I realized (with the help of one of the commentators) that our darling MC wasn't really trying to say it's a recent pic, in fact it can clearly be seen that it's a hard copy of the old picture on a table or bed or whatever and the corner of another picture can be seen on top of her picture. So maybe she was just sharing her old pictures with her kids. You all can check it out, if you care. Thoughts (44,781) by B from USA I love the new album. Yes, I agree MC needs to get out there and promote this masterpiece. YDKWTD needs to be a single yesterday. But even if she doesn't I'll still support her because she continues to give me the music that I want. Her music is and always has been the soundtrack to my life. Before #Beautiful was released a guy told me I was kind of beautiful. When Loverboy was released I had a sugar daddy (I was 16 he was 24). When WTB was released I had broken up with my boyfriend. Top 5 (44,780) by enwar00 from usa I just can't yet. But here are some of my thoughts on some songs if you wanna read. I already mentioned Faded is my fave, and nice to see it getting love here, even at the top of other lambs lists. I do still also love Dedicated. I will say that there were 3 songs that had to grow on me. Cry, I used to skip it and thought it was so boring so I always started the listen with Faded. But that's not the case anymore and I pick up different things to like each listen. Make It Look Good, I'll be honest this was just meh for me at first, but now I think it's excellent and it may actually be in my top 5 now. Love when the guy sings with her, same thing with Dedicated when the guy is singing alongside her, I just love that. And Meteorite was different than what I was expecting, I guess from what I had read, so I felt underwhelmed, but it got me with more listens and sometimes I just wanna hear that song. The chorus does get stuck in my head, and I especially love the last minute, possible top 5. I agree that this could sound even better with club mixes. Now there's a couple I'll skip occasionally, Camouflage and Heavenly. Also, if I'm honest, I have mixed feelings about Thirsty. I feel like it somehow messes the old school mood of the songs around it, but it's ok by itself. I do love YDKWTD, but preferred its live band sound from GMA. (Sunday 15 June 2014; 18:19)

My five year old nephew loves Supernatural. It's too cute he makes me rewind the NBC special so he can hear it played during the home video of MC and Nick with dem babies. BTW, when I bought my copy I took all five Walmart had and put them in the front of the electronic department where new releases are supposed to be. They had MC's new album buried in the back. Re: nikki (44,774) by R&B Junkie from Poland Yes. This is a body of work, an artistic journey. Now, when we all know all this lack of hit singles, we should understand the title. This album is so elusive, you cannot hear it on the radio nor watch videos on TV. Some people are obsessed with chart success. Wouldn't they love Mariah if her earlier work had been such non-promoted undergound albums? I love the voice, the sound, the concept from the very first day. This woman is still giving us her talent. Pablo (44,773) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter You are not alone buddy, I love E=MC2. It's in my top 3 Mariah albums. I don't think I skip any song while I am listening to the album and Side Effects is one of my favorites too. I think each and every track on that album was pure perfection. Always somewhere but you're not there for me. 2) Thirsty - While I agree that it may get lost in the crowd of recent songs, I still think it's a great song and with a great video would have done pretty well 3) YDKWTD - Makes you want to get up and bust a move. 4) Make It Look Good - Love the intro, love the "lip, hip, dip" part and in general I love the song, it sounds different and fresh. 5) Money - It's such a fun song, the chorus is just so catchy. I had to leave YME out of the top 5 although I adore both versions, but I have been listening to it for months now, so yes backseat for now, but a great song nonetheless. Least favourite - Meteorite. I tried time and again to like this one, but it just didn't grow on me yet, but that's fine, a lot of other lambs seem to enjoy it a lot. (Sunday 15 June 2014; 15:39)

iPod Blue for Mariah (44,771) by Pablo from Spain So the gay guide to Bilbao (northern Spain) has a list of 10 new songs for the month, and it has "Meteorite" at #10 on the list. It has a comment that either this or "You Don't Know What to Do" need to be a single now before the album is completely forgotten. Just excited to see Mariah mentioned as she is more or less only known as "Didn't she have that Christmas song 20 years ago?" in Spain unfortunately. Anxious as everyone else to see some more promotion for the album. Also, I think I must be the only one who loves E=MC2, it's my second fave album of Mariah's after Butterfly. "Side Effects" is my second fave song after "Breakdown". Love "Migrate" and "I Wish You Well." It's probably the album of hers I listen to most today, other than MIAMTEC, which is still listened to because it's new. I love MIAMTEC, but E=MC2 will always be one of my faves.
