Favourite and least favourite videos (43,396) by Martyn from England, UK
Favourite:
Shake It Off - So good. And so underrated.
Love Takes Time - Beautifully shot, and Mariah looks amazing.
Breakdown - Absolutely mesmerising.
Worst:
I Wanna Know What Love Is - CGI football pitch? Really?.
Auld Lang Syne - Enough said.
Can't Take That Away - Like a high school PowerPoint presentation. Just terrible.

Title (43,395) by Darryle from USA
I don't get all the backlash on the title. It's not the bad. It's like 2014's MOAIA it could have been cut in half and been less laughable. Just Me I Am Mariah instead of the elusive chanteuse at the end. That would have been perfect. Even as it is now though people are exaggerating how bad it is. There are websites saying stuff about how it's the worst album title ever and the people saying it's terrible. Honestly not that bad just long. It's not like we call it bad the full name anyway most people use abbreviations like MOAIA or just call it by 1 name like Memoirs or Emancipation.

Market (43,394) by Darryle from USA
Mariah needs a market to help sell in my opinion. She needs to be like adult contemporary or R&B. She doesn't really fit in anywhere at the moment. She says she's R&B but iTunes says she's pop. It'd be easier if she was adult contemporary/R&B. Mariah can own that market if she try's hard enough but she keeps switching. She was pop with rainbow and E=MC2 but R&B with TEOM adult contemporary with CB and a combo with MOAIA. If she had a market she could at least try to gear a single towards that market to make it sell.

Favourite and worst videos (43,391) by Bill from the UK
Just to pass the time from now until the album, what are you all's top and bottom three videos? My best would be:
1. The Roof - I love how atmospheric it is and the cosy limo shots, knowing the rain is pounding down outside. Something magical about the whole thing.
2. Loverboy - I love the vibrant colours, that crystal clear blue sky, the racing cars, and Mariah knows how to work a flag.
3. All I want for Christmas Is You (colour version) - So natural, back in the days when Mariah could move without the aid of several topless male dancers. Her running around in the snow like a little girl does make me think she perhaps is "eternally 12".
Worst would be:
1. Boy (I Need You) - The manga/anime nonsense is just stupid. Can't stand the song either so that didn't help.
2. H.A.T.E.U. - Very, very boring and lazy. Looks like it was done in an afternoon.
3. Bringin' On the Heartbreak - The gypsy look was a complete mess.

Japanese edition cover (43,390) by tadatorao from japan
The Japanese edition has another album cover showing the frontal face of Mariah. You can see it in HMV Japan website. Not Mariah's fault but this is the ugliest cover I had ever seen in her catalogue.

Japan album cover (43,389) by Me.Great from Germany

I love the Japanese album cover. A cover, how it is supposed to be.

The forgotten remix (43,388) by Isabelle from USA
Have lambs forgotten about the #Beautiful dance remix that would have resung vocals that sounded 90s styled remixes that she used to do, there was a snippet from it on her message that was posted last year on SoundCloud. Why couldn't that be added on the deluxe tracklist instead? Eyes on you, Mariah.

Mariah's music (43,387) by Isabelle from USA
I wish Mariah's recent music was not so heavily piano-driven. Like her songs start sounding a bit the same because we sort of have heard the same keys or arrangements from her music already. Listen to the guitar acapella of Love Story that she did for MTV, to me it sounds better than the album version. I feel like if there was a piano version of #Beautiful it wouldn't have sounded as great of a song, the guitar riffs added an extra uhmm to it. Its one of the reasons why YME was my least favorite from the three songs she released from the album. If she opted to use different instruments in her song instead of the piano, people wouldn't criticized it as much for sounding like a rehashed WBT track.

Great points. And now that you mention it, he was in charge of the Ciara project that produced a hit single but the album flopped bad. And come to think of it, I only like that Ciara "Body Party" song because of the sample that's used. That actually is a JD production, My Boo, which MC happened to use for the Hate U remix. You are absolutely correct. In that case I just hope MC goes independent and continues to release music for the fans. Because anyone who advised her not to release "Migrate" after " Touch My Body" is out of touch. That to me was the beginning of the end for "E=MC2" and "MOAIA" had so much potential especially after the release of two great remixes, "Angels Cry" and "Up Out My Face". And I didn't understand the US release of "IWKWLI" in promotions on tv, yes. But that song should've just been like an international release. The more I'm thinking about it, LA Reid just made me mad. Lol.

Letterman (43,385) by Will from England
That was probably the last time Mariah will ever be on Letterman, which is quite sad really. Her performance of ATYNAF is still one of my faves, as is her "Butterfly" performance (which in my opinion was better than the SNL one). I hope that she can get into another appearance before he retires, but I doubt it. It was just a small, fun interview where she got do to some promo. I died she completely glossed over his question about her siblings and instead talked about the Time Magazine thing that they're doing with the "Make your own Mariah album title". It's quite fun really.

Mariah not respected enough (43,384) by Antonio from Spain
I just watched the Letterman interview once again and it made me think that Mariah is not respected by her label. Dave was right, she has sold 200 million albums. She is a legend. Leave her alone, stop caring about singles. To be completely honest, I personally don't care if there aren't any singles until the album release date. I prefer a coherent album from beginning to end like Butterfly was, where every song is worth listening and there is no filler. We already have #Beautiful, which is a masterpiece. Yes, we all now how the industry works, now it's all about the singles and blah blah blah, which is bull****. I have a feeling that this album is gonna be good, given the length of the tracks. She is extremely talented and not taken seriously.

Today Show performance / single / album (43,383) by Will from England
I don't think Mariah will perform much/any new songs on that show. I think we can get "You're Mine", maybe TAOLG and at a stretch, #Beautiful with some older songs thrown in "for the nostalgia". I suspect Mariah wants us all to hear the new songs at the same time-ish (despite the different release dates for various countries) and experience it as the full body of work that she envisions for this project, so I wouldn't get your hopes up to hear new songs just yet. The same goes for a new single. As I previously said, I suspect she would like people (the general public and the lambily) to focus solely on the album and for what it is, rather than just judging the album by a single song. Is it a good move? Time will tell. But I can understand why she wants it to be this way. Album sales in general are low across the board, with a few exceptions, and are continuing to get lower. By making the songs "album only", she is "gently persuading" people to listen to the album the way she wants people to listen to it, and not the individual songs. It's a dicey move and one I hope pays off. Also, I may be wrong, but the tracklisting is also a departure from Mariah's usual style of album. A song called "Cry." to start off the album? It sounds to me like a sad song (and one I'm certainly intrigued to listen to). Usually, Mariah starts off her album with an up-beat song (with the exception of MC, CB and MOAIA) and then goes into the slightly heavier material. Very excited.

Re: Jonathan (43,382) by Jeremey Carey from United States
Yes I actually did notice a difference in her voice. I don't really know what it is, besides it being a little thicker. I think it sounds magical when she speaks. I think she may be taking better care of her voice. Maybe the GMA whistle scandal and that bad performance of AIWFC opened her eyes to how she needs to take better care of her voice. I guess we'll see on the Today show next week.

Stop assuming things about Mariah and Nick (43,381) by Manny from U.S.
I think it's funny how people on this messageboard assume they know what is going on with Mariah's marriage. We are not close friends or part of their family. To start saying that their marriage is practically over for reasons A, B, and C is hilarious to me. Seriously, we cannot assume how Mariah feels. The way Mariah and Nick get along is cute to me. On America's got Talent, I remember seeing Mariah jump on Nick and him catching her. They looked like two high school sweethearts. Nick has done some mistakes but recent pics of them together seem they are making it work. Until I see her make a statement about a separation or divorce, I will send positive vibes their way. I think she is happy having the family unit she always wanted. Why rain on the parade and demonized them saying they're not fit for this marriage?

Clueey23 (43,380) by Isabelle from USA
That's the last thing I want Mariah to do. Remember L.A. Reid was in charge with the singles selection from her previous albums. He was responsible for Migrate not being release as a single and MOAIA best singles weren't chosen as well. Reid only has success once or twice with artists that have a lot of control or input on their albums. That's why he opts to work with upcoming artists or artist that tend not to have that much of input with their music. He hasn't been able to produce a hit album since he taking the role of CEO of Epic.

Censored (43,378) by Joyce from USA
Just saw part of my message was censored. Just so anyone is wondering, I did not use a bad word. I just repeated myself in a sarcastic way. Oh well. Must have sounded worse than I thought.

Black panty dress illusion (43,377) by Joyce from USA
Update, I'm embarrassed to realize, it’s not a see through dress revealing her black panties beneath but rather, an optical illusion created by the white pin stripes strategically stopping in the shape and location of, panties. But as far as class goes, its only 1.5 points above wearing a see through dress in public.

Thoughts (43,376) by clueey23 from USA
I hope MC goes with Epic Records with LA Reid. He is doing amazing things with this Michael Jackson project. Just imaging what he could do with MC.

Peak-a-boo panties sees through tight dress (43,375) by Joyce from USA
Why in the world can I see her panties through that dress in the outfit on Letterman? Why? Her little black panties. [censored]

Letterman / MIAMTEC (43,374) by Randy from USA
I'm nervous. The only reason why is because MC and IDJ aren't on the same page. A statement released by IDJ said that the album would follow a traditional release promotional plan including a single, a video and a release date. MC said last night she wants the album to be heard as a complete project. She hinted at the fact, did not outright say, that she doesn't want to release a single. Record companies are very nervous about releasing albums at this point because no one is paying for music. I'm concerned about the project being shelved or the record company releasing a single, it failing and the album being pushed back. Now they've been sticking to this 5/27 but they initially said 5/6 and I was a little pissed MC never addressed us. Even though I am a little pissed, I have to admit this messageboard has been going off the deep end in terms of criticizing MC. I appreciate the webmaster for letting us have an open critical discussion, but some of the things being said have been ridiculous lately. I too am very critical of MCs live performances, but to say she didn't sing on Letterman because she can't anymore and she's holding up the album with hundreds of engineers is absolutely horrific. I was once a person that said it was over for the voice, until I saw the impromptu Jimmy Fallon concert for fans. True it's not Daydream era but there is still something there. And she has it at times, whether or not it's in her control is the real question. Some of you need to calm down.

One More Try / I'm in heaven (43,373) by Edward from USA
I almost choked when I saw the length of "One More Try" on the new album. 6:21 min is wonderful. That means Mariah didn't shorten it, compromising the integrity of the song. I'm in heaven. George Michael's version is actually 5:53, but it seems that Mariah's version is nearly 30 seconds longer. She'd better sing the hell out of this song because George's version is wonderful. I know she's going to be using the whistle register a lot on it, and I can't wait.

Love in this club Part 2 (43,372) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I don't know if you all knew this, but Usher wanted Mariah to do the female vocals for this song. But for some reason she ended up not doing it. Which is sad, because I really liked the original and Part 2. Mariah would have sounded beautiful on the track and her vocal chemistry with Usher is great. Anyways so Beyonce ended up doing it.

No single (43,371) by G.G. from USA
I watched the Letterman interview and what I took from what Mariah said, there's not going to be a new single before the album is released. Did anyone else think that's what she is saying? I don't know if that's a good idea. I want this album to be a huge success and I do my part as a fan to promote it, but it seems like there is one mistake after another being made by MC and her team.

Just drop the album now it's finished, we only have one tv performance and it's over a week before the album is out on the Today show. Hopefully they have more promotion coming.
