Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (43,290) by B from USA I don't think this album will flop. Even if it's not a huge blockbuster album I don't think one album can devastate an artist of Mariah's caliber. I just want good songs. With well written lyrics, Mariah's signature vocals, and a wall of Mariah's singing the background vocals. BTW, I really hate the cover for the deluxe edition, at least I hope it's the deluxe (the close up of her face?). (Tuesday 6 May 2014; 23:56)

Marriage (43,288) by Danny Braden from Uk Don't wanna cast any negativity on this wonderful era but do you think there is any truth in these reports of a marriage in crisis? There was no big media wedding renewal and I'm only saying this due to past celebrations being so epic. Maybe time to focus on the album but feeling is things aren't right and maybe that's the reason for the delay her life has evolved and changed so much I do hope they are happy but if they aren't I wouldn't be surprised. Mariah just doesn't get it, another flop is almost certain (43,287) by Nina from USA She just tweeted that she's stopping by Letterman Wednesday night to "talk"? She needs to stop talking and providing analysis for her new CD, like she's a psychiatrist and just sing. I don't think she can sing live anymore and if she can't, or doesn't even try, the fans are gonna turn their backs. I've been a die hard fan from the beginning and I'm getting tired of her 1) not singing and 2) when she does, lip synching part, if not all, of the song. (Tuesday 6 May 2014; 21:47)

Edward / radio edits (43,282) by Eternal from Italy Thanks for clarifying what I said, my previous message must not have been too clear. What I meant to say is that had Mariah tried to cover Careless Whisper by the same singer, then she would have had endless comparisons because that's George Michael's signature song, like Hero and AIWFCIY is Mariah's trademark. No matter how old the song is, as long as it's one that people are very familiar with, it's hard to make it your own as a cover. Of course that's an arguable point, but it's my opinion. I brought up Prince's The Beautiful Ones because it's one of his most underrated gems despite being on the Purple Rain album, and it's a rare case in which Mariah's cover was way longer than the original. Since when has Mariah done a song (not a remix) that's 7 minutes long? Mariah's version was a delicious sultry slow burner, and she definitely managed to give it a new sheen. Personally I adore songs that take time to build up the atmosphere, a complete song that takes us on a musical journey, like Bohemian Rhapsody, Purple Rain, Goodbye Stranger, etc. I'm hoping Mariah will bring back some such classics and salvage us from the 3 minute disposable pop that we hear on radio nowadays, give us songs that can stand the test of time. Billy / One More Try (43,269) by Edward from USA Billy, I guess that what Eternal tried to say was that "One More Try" was enough of a classic and an old (27 years) song for this new generation to have much knowledge of it, so it would definitely sound fresh in Mariah's voice. My only problem is that Mariah tends to shorten some of her covers by leaving entire verses out (The First Noel, I Wanna Know What Love Is). All these three-minute ephemeral album tracks compromise the integrity of albums nowadays. Before there were radio edits, but now they come edited out of the box. I always dreamed of longer version of "I Wanna Know What Love Is" and "#Beautiful", but it never happened. So, even though I'm dying to hear Mariah's take on "One More Try", this time I'm not setting my expectation too high. (Monday 5 May 2014; 21:31)

Re: Eternal (43,268) by Billy from Greece "It's a good song for a cover, because it's not too well-known and so the ears of a listener are 'fresh'." You might want to check that again. "One More Try" was a #1 hit on the Hot 100, and it is after all on the classic "Faith" album, so a lot of people know the song, no doubt. It is a great choice, nonetheless. Song I'm excited to hear (43,266) by Darryle from USA The songs I'm excited to hear are: Heavenly which I hope is gospel influenced because I love Mariah's gospel songs,Thirsty which is supposed to be Mariah's favorite and she's excited for us to hear it, Cry., Make it look good, and Dedicated. Eternal (43,265) by Bill from the UK I'm really excited to hear One More Try as the George Michael song is gorgeous and I know it will sound great with Mariah's voice behind it. I'm also eager to hear Thirsty and the track with Dem Babies as that should be cute. I agree that Heavenly will probably be a gospel closer. I hope it's uplifting like Fly Like A Bird, as opposed to the gentler I Wish You Well. I also think Mariah ends her albums really well, every closing track has been perfect in the past and I don't think this will be any different. I'm very keen to hear the MOAIA remixes as well.
