Today Show (43,674) by Licia from USA
She's singing another new song. The one with Wale. I thought she would do Thirsty but we get a whole new song. I'm excited.

Cry (43,673) by Darryle from USA
I don't think Mariah's Cry is Michael's Cry. Mariah's Cry has a period after it and I just can't see why should add one after a song that's not hers. Time wise Michael's Cry is 5:00 minutes and hers is 4:52, only an 8 second difference but still means a possibly shortened cover. While I don't think it's Michael's song, I do hope it is because Cry is a fantastic song and would be a fitting tribute to him.

Youre mine (eternal) remix / Beautiful remix (43,672) by Panos from Greece
I've just heard a remix of You're Mine Eternal that has become a favourite in Ukmix, called "Boyfriends So So Def remix" and I just can't get it out of my mind. If this isn't a fan made remix, what they were thinking and didn't release as the very first official remix. It's so late 80s-early 90s, yet it sounds so fresh and uplifting. I imagine driving and jamming to this during summer. Old school at its best. In my opinion, it's the best remix she's done after Triumphant dance remix and Beautiful feat. Young Jeezy remix. But I have to say I am also very disappointed they didn't release the 90s throwback remix of #Beautiful, we all (even Slant magazine) are looking for. But I have a feeling that they are going to release it, soon or later, in order to hype and tease us for the album. ? can't explain it differently why they released a year old remix and they are saying it's not the one that we are craving for. As Alex from England said, we must require repeatedly, in her facebook page, JT's page, Instagram, Twitter, everywhere this remix to come to surface. It's not impossible, especially now that she released an already year old remix of Beautiful. It's the right time. We can make it happen.

Cry / No Way Tired / faded sticker, Mariah Carey sticker (43,671) by PJW from The U.K.
Ah thanks, guys. I was aware of those songs. Although I'm slightly disappointed there won't be a gospel opener for a change, I just listened to "No Way Tired" and I'm sure it's gonna be a fanastic track. Thanks again. I also noted that "Faded" sticker and wondered but saying that, "Charmbracelet" had a "Yours" sticker on it and we all know that ultimately didn't happen (will we ever the JT mix?). Talking of stickers, I've still got my original "Mariah Carey" album (the first cd I ever bought) and the sticker proclaims "A new star has risen. Featuring the new single 'Vision of Love'." I knew I loved VOL but at that age I couldn't even perceive how long 24 years was, let alone how much joy this girl would bring me. I also got given a promo copy of "The First Vision" when it came out. It's in the cupboard now but says something along the lines of "Mariah has sold over 100,000 records". If only they knew what was coming...

Today Show (43,670) by Eternal from Italy
There's some speculation that a possible next single could be Faded, produced by Mike Will Made It. There's a sticker on some physical copies of the Target edition of the album highlighting Beautiful, YME, Thirsty and also Faded. Since Mariah's doing the Today Show in a few hours time, I really hope she sings a few songs off the new album instead of rehashing for the umpteenth time ABMB, WBT or MIH. My dream set list for her would be:
Thirsty
Beautiful (done without Miguel so it feels more like an MC song)
One More Try
Faded
Vision of Love
The last one to remind people that she's been around for the past 24 years, just in case someone forgets.

PJW / Michael Jackson's "Cry" (43,669) by Marky Mark from Australia
Cry is not a cover but an original written by Mariah and Big Jim Wright. The two covers are One More Try by George Michael and Heavenly which covers the Curtis Burrell song No Way Tired.

Re: PJW and Edward, the second cover (43,667) by Isabelle from USA
Cry. is not the second cover, because it is written by Mariah and Big Jim Wright, and not Michael and R. Kelly. The second cover might be Heavenly, maybe sorta of a mash up between the Mary Mary song and some other song. I think Heavenly will be built like I Still Believe (Pure Imagination Remix). Mariah possibly added some few words so the song would fit together.

Cover songs (43,666) by Austin from USA
The 2 covers on the album are One More Try and No Ways Tired.

Edward / MJ's Cry (43,665) by PJW from The U.K.
I don't want to speculate too much that it is that, but yeah, isn't it a great song and wouldn't it be lovely if it were? It'd be a beautiful opener for an album, she'd sound gorgeous singing it and if she took and accentuated the gospel elements (which I'm sure she would) it would blow my mind.

PJW / Michael Jackson's "Cry" (43,662) by Edward from USA
PJW, as soon as I read your post about "Cry" being the possible second cover from Me. I Am Mariah, I went and watched the video on YouTube. I had never heard this song before,iIt is just beautiful. I was looking for similarity in length, since we don't know anything other than that the length of Mariah's "Cry", and when I realized that the lengths of the songs 4:58 (Michael's) and 4:52 (Mariah's) were so close, I felt happy about the possibility. Two covers and none of them shortened from their original lengths tells me that Mariah has taken this album seriously.

Re Edward (43,661) by G.G. from USA
Thanks for the info. That seems crazy that all that can count for chart position. I would think that only the video directly from the artist themselves would count. I guess that explains how some of the songs today chart so high.

Revolt (43,660) by PJW from The U.K.
Okay, am I hearing this video incorrectly? Revolt writes that Mariah said "Thirsty" was her favourite track on the album and then talks about the vocal performance. They then have a video where, as far as I can see, she's actually talking about "You're mine (eternal)". Further, she says it's the first single from the album. Cough, cough, J.D. I get and appreciate they're promoting "Thirsty" as much as possible but really, that was silly.

G.G. / views (43,659) by Edward from USA
Anything streamed from YouTube (videos, lyric videos, unofficial videos, fan made videos), Vevo, MTV and Yahoo Music and Aol Music counts. Among the on-demand streaming services anything streamed from MOG, Muve Music, Rdio, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify, Xbox Music and others also counts. For instance, thanks to the almost 40 million views generated by a viral explosion of a new parody video of the song, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. As many of other streaming sources become more popular they are slowly incorporated into the formula. So, even if a song is not officially released as a single, if generates enough views, it could potentially chart on the Hot 100.

Purple Crush (43,658) by Paul from USA
If anything, it sounds like PC lifted Madonna's "Vogue", than Mariah does their "song". "Stop using the Mariah train for your gain." Haters come in all shapes and forms but Mariah always slays.

Hello everybody. So regarding this I would say it is only the title that is similar lol. Love you all.

No similarities to Purple Crush (43,656) by Christy from USA
This suggestion of a similarity between the Purple Crush version of Thirsty and Mariah's is absurd. In fact, it sounds as if the Purple Crush version was copied after Madonna's Vogue. Also, in the PC version, the singer says, "I'm thirsty" where as Mariah says, "You thirsty". Sounds as if PC is trying for cheap publicity.

Two covers / Damizza (43,655) by PJW from The U.K.
So I heard (via Liron, formerly of Mariah Daily who's heard the album) that there are two covers on Me. I Am Mariah. Obviously "One more try" is one of them but is the other "Cry" by Michael Jackson? I think Mariah would cover that beautifully and it'd be a nice tribute to him. As for Damizza, as mentioned before he posted about Thirsty, leaving a few mild comments about Mariah. I asked him why he would make comment on it, especially considering the magic they'd made together and the risk of tarnishing that through public put downs, despite any grievences they may share with eachother. He responded saying "we're just having fun, (there's) no hard feelings, (I've) nothing but respect for queen lamb". If it wasn't about him, I doubt he'd make himself look silly by responding to it all, so I stick by my theory, but his response made me question the seriousness of it all. It's all a load of fun, maybe, which is classic Mariah. The name throwing doesn't hurt if they're both in on the joke, it potentially gets his name out there a bit more and it gets people talking about the track a bit. It works all round.

Thirsty (43,654) by Carol from Spain
Honestly these allegations that Thirsty was lifted from Purple Crush is absurd. I personally don't find anything similar detween the two songs. Copyright where? It's not like they trademarketed the title Thirsty.

Views (43,653) by G.G. from USA
I'm not 100% sure how views count towards Billboard charts. If Mariah releases the audio to a song on YouTube/Vevo does that count towards chart position? What about lyric videos? If either of those count towards charts, wouldn't it be best for MC to immediately release the audio/lyric videos to YouTube? That way the views aren't "wasted". Thirsty has quite a few views on Revolt, but I don't think they count unless they're on YouTube/Vevo.

#Beautiful (Cazzette Remix) (43,652) by G.G. from USA
I love it. I immediately put the song on my gym playlist. Mariah's remixes are great for working out.

Me. I am ready for Today show (43,651) by Keagon michael from USA
I am so excited to see MC perform tomorrow on Today show, but I wish "Thirsty" was tearing up the internet and airwaves because it's a smash in my opinion. I only pray Mariah uses Bret R. again for a smash video concept with an actual story line. As fas the new album coming 12 days, whoho. I only wish other tracks were included as bonus tracks: Bring It On Home, Hope Street, Almost Home and even the Vintage Throwback on Triumphant. Yea I really said that because if Mariah ever made a pop version based on that mix, it would have been a hit. All she needed was another verse and a pop mix. I feel YME was also lacking a verse and layers of her voice. Thirsty though is my summer jam. I hope radio plays the out of it. P.S. The Cazzate Remix is definatley the best (#Beautiful).

Beautiful remix / Thirsty (43,650) by Orkun from The Netherlands
The #Beautiful remix, I didn't like and that's ok. To me, it sounds like a remix of a Real To Real song called "I like to move it move it" with a few lines of #Beautiful. Btw, the rapper on Thirsty, he sounds a lot like Nick Cannon, but he isn't. I expect the video to have "pulses" during the chorus. Black screen first and Mariah appearing during "you're thirsty" and disappear. And repeat. Which would fit. Even parts black and white. Mariah mention before that the Idol finalists were singing backing vocals. It could be Thirsty, the mid section. Because that part sounds more like an rnb girl band rather than Mariah alone. Like the 90's band SWV. Thirsty, to me, is gonna be a big hit in the U.S.

Unpopular opinion? (43,649) by TR from USA
You know, I've had Thirsty on loop for the past three days, and I gotta say, I like it the best out of every single she's released since Don't Forget About Us. #Beautiful was amazing, but for me it still had too little MC on it. It felt like a Miguel song. But about Thirsty, this beat is just nasty, and it's a hybrid of current and throwback. That hook is giving me late 90s like nothing else right now. The bass line in it feels like old school So So Def. Her ad-libs are full voice and playful, the whispering/cooing is minimal, her Flo-Jo running over the hook towards the end was olympic and much too short. I replay her laugh after "oh you a G now?" dozens of times per listen. Its not a girly 12 year old giggle. It's a hot, mature woman. Sure, I want some amazing lyrics, but this one is fun and sassy and the lyrics fit with the beat, so I will not complain. I think she nailed this because it gives us current and throwback. For it to get spins on radio it has to appeal more to the younger crowd, and they're feeling this. Those of us who were with her from the 90s probably aren't listening to the radio like they are (I don't at all because this EDM junk is trash IMO, and whatever it is passing for hip hop nowadays has sodomized real R&B). I'm fairly critical when it comes to new MC music, and I'll tell you if I think it's bad (I didn't care for TAOLG vocally or melodically; Triumphant.. we all agree there). I think she wins with Thirsty.

Who's thirsty? (43,648) by nikki from usa
At this point, I don't think this track is about anyone. It's just a hot song created for fun. But, for the sake of fun let's see the possibilities. Initially, I actually thought it was about Mariah going along with her cover theme. Creative Mariah vs. Hit Machine Mariah. Then, I was wondering if it was about Mark Sudak since that's the relationship I knew the least about. He's the only guy MC's ever dated that wasn't already a vet in his own field. I never thought of Damizza. Stupid question, but does anyone think this was about Tommy? He had just taken over CBS records, now turned Sony and had to turn it all around. MC really was his first big break and became they're continual meal ticket. As much as she was promoted as a "lucky" kept girl, a lot of the truth is very much reversed. What would've happened if she went with Warner Bros? Her life may be quite different, but what would've become of Sony? And then there's Eminem. I've always said the only thing those 2 have in common is they both use her name to sell records.

Damizza and MC (43,647) by nikki from usa
I know Mariah "discovered" him and gave him his name literally. She helped make him famous and considered him a friend. Shit hit the fan in 2001 where they had a falling out and he claims he bent over backwards for her and she owes him an apology for "putting him through hell". Considering the time frame it could have something to do with her Glitter project being scammed on. Mariah may have believed he had helped her ex with that. A few years after he claimed he was Mariah's boyfriend during the late 90's. He claimed he had proof. Sound familiar? He showed the pictures proving they were "dating". He was basically laughed at by fans and critics alike because they looked like fan photos. Plus, they were clearly during work: on the set of music videos and in the studio. In his book, he claimed he hooked up Eminem with Mariah at Em's request. He also states he was sure they were dating because there were a few times he knew they were flying out to "see each other". 50 cent claims the same although both admit they've never actually seen the pair together. Ironically, Mariah has never objected to the fact she hung out with him a few times and even mentioned one such time in "Clown". "Stealing 20 minutes in my G5, ain't nothing. Guess you didn't know that's the way I roll."
