Where is Edouard part 1 (42,455) by jaker20 from US
Lol. My post doesn't make much sense now. [Webmaster: I never received part 1, so I think there went something wrong when you tried to submit your message. Maybe you should post that part again.]

Edouard part 2 (42,454) by jaker20 from US
That said, I think MC should still release an album. Maybe it's not that album she did with IDJ, but I have faith the album will be amazing regardless. Some of her best singles happen by accident, and not the ones they expect will be hit. Sometimes going with her gut works better than an overly embellished and belabored album. Also, I'm going to talk out of my behind here a little bit, but IMO I think MC should restructure her career so she is not heavily impacted by studio drama. I think there is more venue and platform outside of studio system these days than before. It is the era of indie imo. I'm not saying she should go indie. But as a true artist who has so much mainstream success that she is, I think she should explore her options in a more indie mind-set. Just build it and they will come, as they say. A lot of luck goes on in music industry these days. More hits are made by indies and artists you least expect, and it's harder for studios to manufacture hits and artists now. The public likes studio artsts less these days, IMO. think Butterfly had a bit of that energy, that independent, I'll-do-what-I-want spirit to it. If she takes more chances maybe she'll strike that luck as well.

May 6th (42,451) by Randy from USA
G.G. That tweet did give me a bit of hope but I know better than to get excited. That may be him protesting the label getting in the way of the scheduled release. His thought process may be if he can show the label that the fans are demanding the album, it may pressure them into releasing it on time. Now at the same time, they may release it quietly. They could just be willing to let her go and just let it come out with no noise. As for Justin and this YME debacle. Where is the song on the Hot 100? That's the only chart that matters as it covers all genres and formats. MC could sneeze and it be a Top 40 hit on the dance charts. I wonder where is MC right now though? In the past, MC has straight up told us "things in my professional life are hard right now". Publicly she has stated there are issues with both Virgin and Sony in the past. Why should this instance with IDJ be any different? Finally, I want the album to come out on May 6th. The whole thing with family being a priority etc. I call bs on. She completed Rainbow in 3 months. I understand she can't do that now with a family but 5 years? And I know the album was probably ready last year #723. Mariah doesn't take long for a song from start to finish. Look at Love Takes Time, Loverboy, and the first three TEOM singles. So all the mixing, backgrounds, vocals, mastering is probably a piece of cake for her at this point.

What's really going on? (42,449) by Marissa from USA
As a fan, I wish I knew how Mariah was really feeling during this period. I see her on Instagram smiling with dem babies and Nick and all of this other stuff, but is she really happy? I know she got a lot of flack during the Glitter era when she was leaving those messages on her website but at least we knew what she was feeling instead of having to look through the smiley facade like everyone else. A big consequence of her not releasing an album in 5 years is that she does less interviews, which gives us less opportunities to hear her speak candidly. This sucks. I just don't know if she's putting on a front for the public or if she's just truly unfazed by what's going on.

Album promotion whirlwind (42,448) by Justin from USA - Los Angeles
Guys I really think Mariah is starting to step it up with the album promotion. She just finished her listening party for the new album, she is going to be on the cover of Wonderland magazine, she just released her hot new remixes which are climbing the charts. #19 up 10 positions on Billboard's dance charts. YME is #36 on the Billboard pop songs, and is #38 for radio airplay. It is slowly rising, I believe it has the chance to crack the top 30.

Faith (42,447) by Marissa from USA
It's extremely hard for me to have faith that the album will come out on May 6 since we have no info on it, no title, no official tracklist, no promo pictures and now her label is defunct. We might as well brace ourselves for the announcement that it's getting pushed back. It will be a miracle if things work out at this point. I have faith in Mariah because we all know that anyone would want 5 years worth of work to hurry up and come out, but it's apparent that the business aspect is what's holding this up at this point. This era has reminded me that just because someone is a star doesn't mean they are as powerful as we think they are. There's so much red tape involved for anything to be successful in this business. I wouldn't blame her if she retired after this debacle. This era has been exhausting.

Record label (42,446) by Edouard from USA
I've said it here before. All the infos I have were legit. IDJ will defunk and it did. That's why Mariah is holding her album due to copyrights, sales prospective and promotions - business, in short. And again, the news about her ranting on the management on a close door meeting last year (alledge diss on Kanye West story) was true. There was the reason why the album was hold so many times. The songs on the album based on my (close to her group) infos were really good and all are "potential singles" and Mariah didn't want to waste it and be a victim of label mess. And yes the one she posted about "final touch/mixing/studio etc" on instagram and twitter, she did really re-arrange and re-mix some of the tracks to sound mainstream.

New album (42,445) by Hanno van Leeuwen from The Netherlands
Hello, I am new here since today, but I have been reading all these messages a couple of years. There is one thing that bothers me here and that is why everybody here wants so desperately a tracklist, an album cover etc. Lets just all wait until May 6. So far there is no delay, so lets just wait and see what Mariah has in store for us. I just know it will be great.

New era (42,443) by B from USA
The last video played on VH1 this morning was You're Mine (Eternal). I loved the song the first time I heard it. It's still climbing thr charts. I think it will peak the week the album comes out. It's a great song and it was well recieved by critics including Billboard. #Beautiful and the Jeezy remix and You're Mine are great songs. I can't wait for May 6th. Counting the days. Excited.

But where's MC? (42,442) by Angelo from Italy
I don't blame her for not writing songs or whatever, I blame her to not talk with her fans about the whole situation: 2th April and we don't know nothing about the album, it's 4 years waiting, with her [...] with us with "final touches" messages (end of 2012). This is not respect.

Album coming out soon in my opinion (42,441) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I am certain that Mariah knew the changes were coming and I don't think it should cause any more of a delay that she was already aware of. I think the record company wants her album and I think Mariah doesn't want any expectations on her family and personal time so I still believe this album will be here very soon.

Alex, voice of reason (42,440) by Brad Catoe from United States
Thank you Alex, so true. To be honest, some people on this board remind me of Tommy Motolla. Sing this way, sing that way, sing these kind of songs, sing more ballads, more pop songs. Let the woman be. She's not a factory, she's a true artist who needs to be inspired to write music. If she couldn't write or sing anymore we should applaud her for one of the most incredible artist of all time. Instead I just see a lot of criticism. Anyways, I can admit I am kind of biased, but Alex is right on.

Song babies and lambs / real babies and husband (42,439) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I do t think it is a loss of respect but understand that frame of thought. Truly let's be honest lambs, Mariah has a job that she now feels more fulfilled by and more price for, at that is mothering her children. We are not number one anymore, her real life is. That doesn't mean she doesn't love music but at the end of the day she is a working mom, totally different from the totally self centered perfect pop princess of the past. But she still loves music, we may just go long periods between music as she focuses on her new babies and family (remember the songs were her babies before, and the lambs her family). All I am saying is there may be some jealousy. I admit to missing the intensity of Mariah being ours.

Mariah's work ethic / respect towards fans (42,438) by Alex from England
Hopefully people will now remember that there's a lot going on behind the scenes that may delay an album forever. Don't you all think Mariah has been dying to release the music she recorded like 3 years ago? As time goes by, we all change and I'm sure the the different overhauls of the album corresponds to her evolving and not feeling connected anymore to certain songs. 3 years is a long time in a songwriter's life and people complaining about Mariah's work ethic should wonder: didn't Mariah just have to go through the pushbacks of the album? Didn't she take the unfortunate opportunity to keep going back to the studio and work on the album again and again? In my book, Mariah would have been lazy if she had just finished the album 2 years ago and had just sat on the side drinking champagne waiting until it was eventually released. Also, reading that Mariah supposedly lost respect for us is a bit too much. Just because she hasn't posted anything about what's going on behind the scenes? Let me remind everyone that Mariah has a contract, and the bigger part of it we don't know. In general, there's limitation to what you can/can't say about your employer. Mariah seems to be constantly bashed for no reason like no matter what she does or doesn't, it's wrong. For disrespectful public figures, just check Rihanna or Bieber for example. Mariah has always valued her fans and since as early as she could has kept posting, recording messages for us. Oh well, just my 2 cents.

Give her a break (42,437) by Brad Catoe from United States
Mariah has not lost respect for her fans. I think that's a crazy thing to say. I know someone who knows a lot about the music industry and he is saying that a lot of crazy stuff going on with that label. He also has really great insight into what was happening with all the push back and said she was really between a rock and a hard place. She's obviously having problems with the label so lets give her a break. It's been a hard year and a half for her with these singles and AI. It's all good lambs. Also, who ever said the lambs hate Nick, don't generalize. I love Nick and they're obviously happy. I just heard Nick on Stern this morning and he's always trying to push the boundaries. He does it for publicity and it works.

But where's MC? (42,436) by Angelo from Italy
2th april, ladies and gentlemen, and after news about Island, we all know are waiting for something, but where's Mariah? I mean, why she doesn't tell us, her fans, nothing? Album delay? New single? New deal terms? Nothing. This is sad, and, I'm sorry but it's true, I think she looses her respect for us, if you love your fans you talk with them, you explain something more than your Florida journey.

Thoughts (42,435) by clueey23 from USA
It's a shame what's going on with MCs label, but this situation is far different than Virgin and the Glitter situation. I personally don't think MCs career is in decline. I would think of someone like Lindsey Lohan when I think of a career in decline. If you all listen to YME you will have a better understanding of Nick and MCs relationship. That song is like an open window into their marriage. Marriage isn't an easy thing. I agree that before Nick and American Idol MC did have an untouchable aura about her. But since dem babies and even the marriage, MC seems soo much more grounded and down to earth. I like Nick and Mariah together, and their family unit. It's something to be admired. I just think people read into the wrong things sometimes. OAN, YME is in rotation on the local adult R&B station, 106.7. I think within the month we will see a jump in airplay with the pop and r&b hip hop stations playing the remix with Trey Songz. I would really like to think that the album will be released on May 6, 2014. There isn't a reason for delay.

Re: Nick and MC's career (42,434) by Daydream327 from USA
Although Nick has really been tripping lately in his interviews I think it's a bit absurd to blame Nick or anyone for that matter for Mariah's career decline. Mariah is the one in control of her own career, nobody else. Not Nick, not the label, not her manager. At the end of the day only Mariah can be blamed. If Mariah was married to someone on her level or at least close (ex. Jay and Bey) then I could maybe see how her husband could possibly affect her career, But let's be honest, he's Nick Cannon, he doesn't have that much of a "pull" to damage anyone's career. I'm sure Nick isn't the one telling Mariah to lip, he's not telling Mariah to be dang near naked in a music video, that's all Mariah. I wish some lambs would just stop trying to fault everybody else but Mariah. I actually feel bad for JD the way lambs are coming at him about this era, when I'm sure he is probably just as lost as we are. JD did his job, Mariah didn't do hers. JD nor the label can make a song catch on that people are just not feeling. Lambs bring up Benny, but the thing is it was the music that made that era so epic, along with the amazing performances. If Mariah doesn't start taking her craft serious again, then sadly her career will continue to decline and will be nobody's fault but hers.

Bad omen (42,433) by nikki from usa
I hope not, but this is exactly what happened with Glitter. She signed a huge deal, then they cleaned house, and during the overhaul MC got put on the back burner. It looks like history's repeating itself. I guess we know now why things stopped and no one is doing anything. MC kinda hinted at it when she talked about "her last album". She didn't know what was going to happen with the label and maybe she's had it with labels altogether. I'm hoping this one has a happier ending, maybe with the breakup of the parts they'll properly advertise her album this time instead of getting backed up. Here's hoping.

Nick (42,432) by Marissa from USA
Jaker, I think I get what you're saying about Nick playing a part in MC's career decline. Before Nick, Mariah seemed like a diva with high standards that almost no one could measure up to. When she married Nick, I think a lot of people lost respect for her and even the lambs were confused by that decision. After 11 years of being unmarried, when she finally does tie the knot it's with one of the corniest men in America. Add Nick's motor mouth into the equation and it's even worse. I think the sense of untouchability that Mariah always had diminished when she got married, which is obviously going to reflect on her career.

Marriage observations (42,431) by Marissa from USA
As far as their marriage, I think the respect is gone. Nick doesn't respect MC enough to keep their private life private and let's not forget MC's interview with Sway when Nick came and she basically treated him like a mosquito. I think since MC was traumatized by Mottola she wanted a man totally opposite so she could be in control (Nick was younger, less star power, less money, etc). When the scales are unbalanced issues arise. From my observations, when they got married, Mariah didn't adapt her lifestyle at all for him. He proposed in her Moroccan room, they got married at her estate, he moved into her house, he sleeps in a bed with butterflies that she's had since '98 (come on now) , she has her friends in the house 24/7. Nick may be reaping a lot of benefits, but no man wants to feel like an extra in someone's life. He's not running anything in that household.
