Mariah's dress (41,870) by Darryle from USA
I think one major reason why people are turned off from Mariah is because of the way she dresses. It's the same way with Beyonce, people think she dresses like a sl*t so they don't like her. While Mariah dresses classier than Beyonce it's still a problem. I think she should go back to Butterfly era dress. During that time she showed more skin but it was classy and not completely revealing, just a little boob and leg here and there. You would think as she got older she would gradually put on more clothes, but all she does it lose them.

BET Honors (41,869) by Darryle from USA
I know this is late but I got a non lambs opinion of the performance. I asked my mom who is unfortunately not a lamb what she thought of YME on BET Honors. She said that Mariah is too old to be dressing like she is and that she's almost naked compared to a lot of other people at the show. On the song she said that should could definitely hold a note and that she sounded good. This pretty much sums up what the general population is saying. She's dressing too revealingly but she sounded good.

Management (41,867) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
The impression I got from a recent interview with Mariah (I can't remember which one), is that Jermaine isn't technically her manager. Mariah appears to be in some weird situation where Randy was her manager, and then Jermaine, both friends. She hasn't referred to either of them as being her manager, not as far as I am aware, and seems quite coy regarding the issue. I wonder if there are contractual issues with her management or PMK (I think that's their name)? I'm just thinking out loud here, but I suspect there's so much more going on behind the scenes than we are being told. Whatever it is, Mariah needs to get her act together. Think of any big star, whether it be Beyonce, Rihanna, Gaga, Pink, they all have solid management behind them. They have a management team qualified to handle their needs. LA Reid made sure Mariah had a team and machine behind her to push her throughout Mimi, and that has not been in place since 2008. IMHO, I think LA Reid abandoned Mariah after she married Nick in 2008, and was annoyed because he invested so much money in E=MC2 after waiting over 3 years for that album to be delivered. He had no interest in anything Mariah related thereafter, and instead pumped money into Rihanna, who put out an album a year, irrespective of the quality. Whilst LA Reid has no right to control Mariah's private life, you can understand why he was mad for her abandoning E=MC2. Mariah needs a new team, a new focus and less yes people. She is surrounded by cretins IMO.

Nicki fued (41,865) by Darryle from USA
I know Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj used to be friends like back in 2010 when they redid Up Out My Face. But what happened? They were friends then on AI they were enemies. Can someone fill me in on why and how this happened.

Mariah collection (41,864) by Fredoone from France
Hello, I am a French fan and I have many Mariah items (vinyls, cd, cd promo etc.), but I have to part with some. I'm moving and I will not have enough space. If anyone is interested, I have a list in Excel. Thank you. I hope You're Mine works in Billboard, but it's not bad.

Management problem (41,863) by Lighty from China
I find it interesting that Mariah's best era in the 2000s is when she was managed by Benny Medina (October 2003 - September 2008), which is the TEOM plus early E=MC2 era. After she fired Benny, her career started to wreck again. She really needs someone as powerful as Benny, not just some friends of hers, to bring her back to the top again.

Icon (41,862) by Danny Braden from Uk
Mariah is a legendary icon and I just hope that's what she fine tunes rather than trying to stay current. She will always be current she's a legacy. The only problem is that the majority of her fanbase (unlike younger artists) didn't grow up with social media etc so still some platforms we aren't supporting her correctly, that's why I think she's turned to radio for support where she thinks we are all at, years ago you would request the song because that was the only way to hear it once you buy it on iTunes why would you request it when you can listen to it any time? It's about convenience and viral today, she needs something viral or fresh to rocket her image into the kids of today who are then gonna download her entire back catalogue and see a resurge into popularity.

Champagne (41,861) by jaker20 from US
Her drinking definitely affected her career. Not just her creativity (or lack therefore these past few years), but also her demeanor, her look, the way she carries herself (which seriously I can't stand lately), and maybe even the way she cares about all these. Ps I'm in no position to judge her life, I'm only speaking as a fan seeing what I see. But the writing's on the wall. I don't want her to go down the path many former-stars have gone to and can't handle the decline. I have many times referred to MC as a "pop genius", so the fact that she's not been able to be her best the last 3 years or so tells me something is off.

What I want from Mariah (41,860) by Paul from Usa
Thus post is kinda off subject, but hear me out. YME gas grown on me, I think at first I was like "what is this?" I expected an uptempo song like fantasy, honey, heartbreaker. Etc. something fun. I would say I love YME but I could definitely be ok with it if it wasn't a single. I watched Seth Meyers opening show and discovered this amazing band called "A Great Big World" the performed a song called "Say Something" (not Mariah's song) haha, I recommend looking up this particular performance if you can. Lyrically the song is very simple, but very deep, it could have many interpretations. The guy is very funky looking, but he's singing his heart out, and very passionate. The reason I am bringing this up because it reminds me of how simple the lyrics are of YME. I hope you're following me with this post. I want success for Mariah, I want a strong comeback so I can see shove it in all the people who doubted what she's capable of. I just wish she'd break out of this RnB and hip hop cycle and explore other genres of music. Sometimes I feel she's in a genre all her own. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Check out the original video too. Goes to show a tight budget can be very moving. I could totally see Mariah singing a song like this.

Frozen YouTube view counts (41,859) by Christy from USA
Has anyone else noticed a trend on YouTube/Vevo concerning frozen view counts on Mariah's videos? As of now, 11:06 pm et, the view counts have moved by 24 since 9 pm et. (I know because I check almost hourly). I have sent feedback to YouTube, once at 10 pm et and once recently at 11 pm et. Another lamb who frequents YouTube has also already had to send reports to YouTube. They, in turn told him it was a "bug" on Mariah's page and that they were working on it. Sounds suspicious to me. This happened at Christmas with AIWFCIY. Counts were frozen for 24 hours, I complained and it took nearly 2 days for counts to be restored.

Just getting started (41,858) by Jeremey Carey from United States
Rodney Jenkins and Jermash have both said You're Mine (Eternal) is just getting started. I hope they mean that she's gonna support the song with more performances. But honestly I want them to say that You're Mine (Eternal) was just a treat for Valentine's day and let them release a killer uptempto to satisfy the craving fans and public.

(41,857) by CHAZ from USA
Mariah has been my my girl since 1990, but she's a hot mess right now. She needs to go back to her roots. She needs to re-learn what being humble is. She needs another "Tommy Mottola" figure in only her professional career. Her "eternally 12" creativity has been stagnant and boring. Non-lambs do not take her seriously. Mariah, I hope your portrayal of sexiness is not the demise of you. I still care, but at this point, it's hopeless.

State of career (41,855) by Austin from USA
It's true, Mariah's career needs a makeover. I love the new song, but it's not resonating with the public. I'm a diehard fan and enjoy most anything she releases. I was very excited for a new song after hearing Beautiful and TAOLG. But, YM is too similar to her past hits and what's currently playing on RnB radio. It's a great song, and I understand why it would be tried as a single, but she needs to try something new, i.e. Beautiful and TAOLG. She also needs to let go of being the top artist on Billboard. Those days are gone. The industry is different and that doesn't make her any less of an artist. After her last failed album, Madonna is rumored to be making a ballad album. I hate to compare the two, but they both have longevity and talent in the industry. Mariah needs something new. A cover album, a jazz album, a gospel album, or simply a new sound. Something that would jump start a change in her career.

Critism (41,854) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I agree with most of the fans on this page. But I don't agree with everything. The issues with her doesn't have to do with the quality of music she is putting out. I feel the issues that surround the majority of her problems is the fact that she is an artist that takes pride in her work and if the record company or fans does not take pride in her work it comes so easy to become overwhelmed because you do not have someone on your side. She has millions and doesn't have to prove with demand to come out with an album. She's been there and done that. I feel the more that people do not understand her and more that we continue to misunderstand and place blame on her, as if we knew what she is going through, she will make the situation worse by avoiding or delaying her album. It's easy to feel rushed in any situation under stress. Her stress is 10x worse than ours. She is an artist that loves her fans and I feel the last 5 years fans have rushed her and demanded music, then once heard posted negative things about her and her music. Then we criticized her deeply, and now are pissed because of the song is not doing well. We should stop thinking flop and start thinking this could be her last album.

Interview and career (41,853) by G.G. from USA
Anyone else catch in the interview with DJ Suss-One that there's a song called Kick Rocks that might be on the album. From what I gathered from the conversation, it's a song that might've been recorded a long time ago. Suss said that he heard it and liked it. I will be happy if she gets a few top 5 or top 10 hits with this album, getting her name out there again, then moves to the new label (who will promote her properly) and then pow a number one hit.

Image (41,852) by Joyce from USA
I'm not sure but after Luis Miguel, her persona changed. In 99 when she was with him, is when she really started taking off her clothes. Yes, since "Honey" the cloths started shrinking but by far after Luis, there seems to be intended design into extreme sex appeal and the acceleration in side boob frequencies and also consequently, a recent nip slip exposure at the 20th anniversary concert for hip-hop label So So Def in Atlanta last year. Until her marriage, I feel like she had been trying to holograph an image of "sexy Mariah" or "look what you gave up" targeted specifically to Luis Miguel's desire. Though I must admit, I'm doing the same with my ex in the dress and hair in my avitar as my ex husband loved both I had similar, the day we met in 1980. His kiss was a hammer and I a bell. All these years later, I'm still ringing (don't steal that - it's copy written lol).

Summer hit (41,851) by Zachary from Croatia
I just want to forget this song and an awkward video. She needs a summer up beat hit that will be played so many times that even birds on the electric cores will know it. And a great video with her dancing a little bit.

Is she lost? (41,850) by Badr from USA
I start by saying I've enjoyed every song Mariah's released since "Triumphant". She went out of her conform zone particularly with "#Beautiful" and "TAOLG". I applaud her for that. I have listened to "YM" many times. It's a good pop song, but a weak effort for a lead single. The concept and theme are a bit repetitive: "you're mine and we belong together". Vocally, she did an outstanding job, but musically and lyrically I expected more. The video is simply awkward: Mariah covering her boobs and the guy posing. Come on. I find Mariah's commercial approach off-key. This era, whether we accept it or not, is a mess, and it doesn't look too promising, after the abysmal results of "YM". I also don't understand why she keeps releasing so many songs/singles, most of which do not receive proper single treatment. The fact that many of these songs don't even chart is giving her a terrible reputation. I hope she releases solid, innovative R&B songs that also appeal to pop markets. "WBT" and "#Beautiful" had that multi-format appeal. Mariah can deliver hits. After all, it's Mariah Carey. She's got the talent, experience, and looks. There is an audience for her. John Legend, who clearly doesn't target bubble-gum pop lovers, is doing great on Billboard, after an outstanding Grammy performance. Mariah, on the other hand, maintains that "diva/Barbie" attitude that makes her look superficial and dull, which she is not. I hope she finds her way; she deserves success.

Joyce (41,849) by Blake from USA
Thank you. You always nail it on the head. Train wreck all over again for Mariah's career. She has lost touch with reality. I loved her saying in the Power interview that the ballads are coming and uptempo records but she also acted very egotistical with the "I never had a real job so I don't know what a bonus is", "cheers dahling". I have said this countless times but lambs on here don't agree; MC lives in her own bubble and does not see how bad her image is to the buying public. She comes off very arrogant and woe is me. She throws her husband under the bus a lot and let's face it YME was not the smash we all wanted. I think it's interesting how everyone on here has a list for MC to get back on track but admitting there's a problem is the first step for Mrs. Cheer (cling cling) and she is clueless at this point. Cue the thumbs down and go. Truth hurts.

Drinking / new music / new record company (41,848) by Isaac Ortiz from USA
I'm glad that other lambs see and agree about Mariah's drinking rampage. She over does it. And I'm surprised that no one has brought it to her attention. Even though Mariah is a grown woman, she should be old and wise enough to know what drinking can do to her voice. There were a lot of good postings today of good and important topics regarding her drinking, image and music. I agree with George with most of his post. Everyone is dying for 90's Mariah to come back, but that's unlikely to happen if Mariah doesn't get herself together and ditches IDJ. They seem to bring nothing to the table. L.A. Reid's gotta go too. I do like Mariah's new music, but I agree that it wouldn't kill her to let other people write or help her write songs. Mariah has already proven how talented she is, but at the end of the day, you need to do what you need to do to make and release a good album. "Beautiful" is a masterpiece, "You're mine" not so much. But I'm almost certain that the new album is going to be good.

Mariah giving us what we want (41,847) by Andrew crisostomo from Canada, niagara falls
I love that Mariah is emphasizing that this album will be for the lambs and going to have more vocal songs. We asked for that and she said she going to give us that so I appreciate that very much. I'm ready to understand that it might not be chart-toppers, but it's for us. So thank you Mariah.

Eric (41,846) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
You missed out most of my original message. I'm sorry if I broke a rule. What the previous message said was that I love You're Mine and think it's an incredible song. But, and here comes the but, I feel it is better as a fantastic album cut. Some songs just naturally translate well to radio and I feel that this song doesn't really have the radio appeal. I love the song though and I'm glad she wrote it. The intro and outro are so haunting and it has a satisfying climax with that sublime final note. I can't even know what to say about the video, though. I'll just politely state I think it's less than stellar and move on. I don't think any good comes from focussing on negativity.
