Stripped (41,987)
by enwar00 from usa

|
|
There's a cool mini concert of Mariah called Stripped that I love and just watched on YouTube again, with my favorite performances of Obsessed and Always Be My Baby that I've seen. I think Mariah, the band and background vocalists all sound awesome and seemed to be on point that day. If anyone hasn't seen this I say check it out, you might like it.

Hey, I don't come on here to spark up drama with people, but some lambs on here are really catty and overly sensitive and resort to name calling when someone else disagrees with them.

I have to admit, I come on the site to read the way you "lambs" not-so-nicely spar off on one another. True entertainment.

Lol, on the contrary. Nothing you post could offend and upset me. Unless it being something bad about Mariah. I only defended Justin. Also, you want to call me childish? I only called you childish because of the the rude and silly statement you made. That's all. I could care less who agrees with you. I like JT, and that's that. I'm not going to keep going back and fourth with you. I'm not here to be arguing with someone. Post what you want, I won't respond.

Hey Mariah (41,983)
by Joyce from USA

It's that voice everyone wants to hear. Not the recent distressed textured or the Faith Evens 1997 inspired faint wispy tones. If you believe that voice is gone then so will it be. But, if you believe you can bring it back, then you will try to regain the power in your voice. You are a young woman, you are gifted and a legend. You came to be a legend solely for that voice. 5 number 1 hits on your very first album and for every year thereafter because of that awe inspiring voice. After you have tried all other gimmicks, all other collaborations and should they fail, it will be that nurtured back to strength voice that will banish all insecurity to you will rise again. However, maybe this time in your life is all about dem babies. Maybe it's time to let this career take a back seat as you spend every moment with these little angels of yours. Maybe your voice on a cosmic all is as it should be with your voice and it's now time to enjoy that rare fairytale ending. You deserve love and happiness and dem babies deserve the beautiful mommy they have.

If you took offense to what I said and called me a name then you're the one being the childish [censored] who needs to grow up. I explained why I didn't like his music and your counter argument is that I'm being childish. Really? Obviously some people on this forum agree with my opinion as well. The problem I have with JT is not just what he's done in the past but also with his voice. Mostly his voice, I can't get over that nasal tone that he has. Sorry if the truth hurts.

Thank you Mimi, I agree 100%. I gave you a thumbs up, lol. But Kenny, to state/reference that you threw up in your mouth is really a silly statement, childish and being a [censored]. So grow up, but if that's how you feel, hey that's you. I'm not going to argue about it. I would agree that John Legend and Robin Thicke are both good singers, but I personally think that Robin is the only male singer other than George Michael of course that gives Justin competition. Usher is okay, not really a fan, and same goes for Bruno, though I do like one or two of his songs and believe in time his vocals will improve. So many people still have hard feelings on how Justin did Mariah back in 2002, and it's silly, that was 12 years ago. I really don't think that a collaboration on the song "Yours" would have worked anyways. Everyone has a right to fell the way they do, but no one can deny that the man is talented and can sing.

Next single (41,980)
by B from USA
| |
|
|
Mariah should have both David Guetta and David Morales remix her next single or You're Mine. Carey should re-record her vocals for these remixes like she did in the 90's. The Guetta remix would be EDM which would appeal to teens of today and the Morales remix would be for the lambs and the gay clubs.

Isaac re JT (41,979)
by Kenny from Canada
| |
|

"...has probably one of the best male voices in music (my opinion)". Not hating on JT but I just threw up a little in my mouth lol. If you like music with weak and nasal vocals and overproduced Timbaland beats, then good on you - who am I to judge? But in the realm of male singers I would compare him to Jennifer Lopez. He depends on the beats and production to carry him through a song. His voice on its own would not draw any attention. That said, I did like his last album though. What I consider great contemporary male singers are John Legend, Usher, Maxwell, Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke, Adam Lambert - now that boy can really sing (even though I don't care for any of his songs).

JT (41,978)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

It's one thing to not like JT's behavior/attitude, and how he was a douche to Mariah, Janet and Britney, but to claim that he is a bad singer is completely wrong. He's probably one of the best male vocalist of our generation. I am not a huge JT fan, I have listened to only some of his work, but I have to say he is a very good singer and all the songs of his that I heard were really good. What he does in his personal time is not my business, but he is a good singer and I think him and Mariah can have great vocal chemistry.

I love your posts, reading them one can tell you're not a fan who blindly supports each and everything Mariah does, but at the same time you're constructive in your criticisms and optimistic, even when things seem bleak. There's been way too much negatity on this board lately and your posts are indeed a breath of fresh air.

Why doesn't Mariah perform on The Voice? Look what it did for Say Something, that song is only so big because it was on The Voice and Christina. If Mariah were to perform YM(E) live it could sky rocket.

I believe she was referring to Walter A. on Bravo. When she talked about writing the song and Walter A. coming up with an idea for a chord change or something. Just YouTube it and correct me if I'm wrong. The interview with Andy Cohen was perfection in my opinion. MCs interviews as of late have been if anything, informative.

Mark my words, no matter who Mariah works with, what’s she is wearing or whatever else she is doing, when that "voice" gets out of 10 year bed rest, reinvigorates itself with the strength that some with training and workouts, she will be on top again. That confident Mariah will sing live again and she will gain momentum again. Until then, her stock price in marketability and relevance will continue to fall.

Ok fellow lambs, please go and listen to this. I have no idea where it came from but it is just pure heavenly bliss, angelic, heavenly. Honestly, I'm sorry there just is [...] that will [...] compare to Miss Mariah Carey [...]. Sure she may not sound the same as before but come on, she has been using that voice since her teens. She still, either in studio or whatever, has that voice. I don't care if it is [...] of what it was, Mariah's voice was that good. I hope we all agree, I would think so as we are all on here for the same reason. But please listen.

Double album (41,971)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
Hi lambs. I hope everyone is well and treating each other well. It occurs to me that the singles we received to date from this "new era" are essentially the remnants of a shelved album that MC once delivered to her label (Triumphant, Almost Home, TAOLG, Youre Mine). I am not so sure about "The Art of Letting Go". I think MC felt she had to release that particular track once the intended title of the album was leaked and it was subsequently decided that the album would be shelved. She knew she couldnt include it as a track in the album that eventually gets released but didn't want it to never be heard since it is a relatively strong vocal performance. Anyhow, I have a feeling that our girl will be very busy recrafting this album over the next month or so. I don't think it will resemble the album that was shelved last summer/fall. Be well.

Walter is wrong for taking 50% of "AIWFCIY"? No, he's not. How and when he wrote some of the song? Mariah didn't write all of it herself. He had every right to take 50%. It was fair. Anyone who helps an artist write a song is entitled to their share and deserves credict and acknowledgment. Also,I happen to like Brandy. "Full moon" and "Long distance" are some of my favorite songs. And her last album was good. She's so talented and pretty nice and can sing. I don't know much of Mike though. Hopefully he produced something good. I wish Mariah would ditch the whole rap/hip hop techniques and go back to her roots because as Joyce stated it's getting old where are the beautiful songs like "Can't let go", "Just to hold you once again", "One sweet day", "Whenever you call", "When you believe". I'm grateful for "Fly like a bird", "I wish you well" (one of my favorites), "Angels cry" but some of us want ballads. "You're mine" just doesn't measure up the way "Beautiful" does, but hopefully there will be some on the new album because I saw an interview of Mariah saying there will be some.

Remixes (41,969)

I was searching YouTube for something and came across this remix for I Only Wanted. Sounds like different vocals too. I never knew this existed. Does anyone know where it is from or if there are any other unknown remixes? Btw, wasn't Luis Miguel supposed to originally be on the non remix for I Only Wanted, or am I remembering incorrectly? Double album? (41,968)
by Bump from Greece
| |

It's been mentioned before but does anyone else think that we may be getting a double album? Maybe disc 1 is solo Mariah while disc 2 could be all the collaborations? I may be dreaming but it's not that far fetched. Over the last few years she's worked / rumored to have worked with Miguel, R.Kelly, Maxwell, Nas, Wale, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Mary J, Dream. Just a thought.

Why would MC work with people that have burned her or rubbed her the wrong way during the creative process in the past? Walter A knows he was wrong for taking 50% of "AIWFCIY" and if memory serves me correct Diane Warren really didn't want to collaborate. And they had creative differences. Thank God, MC and Walter fell out when they did because I wouldn't want the Butterfly album to sound any different. Seriously, who would've known so many people don't like Brandy or MikeWill's production quality. But any who, I know I wouldn't want to work with people that want to have more of a creative say so than me, the artist. MC is an R&B artist that just so happened to be a pop star (popular star). How do you think MC would've faired had she been the one to sing "Happy" the #1 song in the country? Just another thought, when MC said she hadn't heard "Drunk In Love", I believe her because when you're in a creative space listening to current records could lead you to jock and not even realize where the inspiration came from. Glad MC turns off the radio to create.

Secret plan: JT collaboration? / new single? (41,966)
by Antonio from Spain
| |
|
|
Yo lambily. Hope you're all well, send you lots of love. I honestly think Mariah has a secret plan, I think that something secret is behind the curtains. This whole rumoured colaboration with JT, and the [...] interview uploaded to her Vevo. JT is a star, a recognised true artist who deserves his success, and him working with MC would be perfection, man, the guy can sing. It's very likely that this won't happen, but one can only hope. I also think that whether or not it's a colaboration with JT [...], she's gonna release a new single soon, a more mainstream one, in the It's Like That vibe in order to boost the album. Love to you all.

I agree, and hope that Mariah did work and produced that song with Walter. She needs to start working with him again. "I'll still be around" sounds interesting. Now to Kenny. You're saying that anyone who is a fan of Justin Timberlake or likes his songs has bad taste in music? That's ridiculous. I'm a fan and have all his albums and songs on my phone. Guess I have bad taste then, lol. Justin is very talented and has probably one of the best male voices in music (my opinion). I don't see how you or anyone would find his voice annoying. The man can sing.

I know we're fans but I'm still obsessed with Brandy's "Two Eleven". You can have an amazing R&B album, and it's not gonna sell like hot cakes. I don't know if you all have Brandy's last album from 2012, Two Eleven. She worked with some of the people MC is currently working with and I'm excited. The MikeWill joint, "Do you know what you have?" is one of my top 5 on the album.

JT collab (41,963)
by Kenny from Canada
| |
|
|
Hell no to the JT collab ideas. JT is a douche who threw Janet Jackson under the bus during the whole Superbowl fiasco. He's a great entertainer and he's not bad to look at - true, but that's all there is to him. His voice is so annoyingly nasal and prepubescent that I find it hard to believe anyone can take his singing seriously. The taste in music that the lambs on this forum have are seriously questionable.
