Stephen / UK fan gathering (40,731) by Edward from USA
Stephen, the album title you suggested would be the demise of Mariah's career. The album definitely needs a new name, "The Art of Letting Go" sounds dreadful as of now. You'd better organize a nice gathering for the UK fans, I'll need to see pictures of the event. I would like for someone to organize a gathering here in New York. It would be great!

Two things (40,730) by RadChad from United States
I absolutely love the idea of Mariah covering Why Does It Hurt So Bad, I would actually prefer that over You Give Good Love. So I guess that would make me team Post Mariah Whitney now. As for her secret duet partner, I hope it isn't Usher. He's had a bleak attitude towards Mariah in the past. Some of you may remember the behind the scenes video in 05 or 06, when they both were at a party with JD and Usher kept intentionally blowing cigar smoke towards Mariah's face, when JD was making a speech in her honor. In the following clip (which was the next day), Mariah mentioned she had a great time "even though some people were acting bleak", I'm sure it was Usher. I think a duet with Justin Timberlake would be more interesting creatively if we want to break it down. Okay enough male duet partners for this album. I want something with Chaka, Celine, Aretha, Pattie, or Anita or maybe all of them on one song.

New album (40,729) by Ryan from the Philippines
I think Mariah is cooking up a new album title. I have not heard her referring or calling the album as "The Art Of Letting Go" since last year. TAOLG isn't a bad title but I think she must come up with a more simplier but more classy idea. BTW, the rumored Whitney song cover is something that makes me excited to buy the new album. And I'm excited to hear the new single on Valentine's Day.

Excuse me, "Triumphant" and "Beautiful" are both great songs. So you must appreciate what Mariah wrote. Also, there is nothing wrong with the album's title. It's decent and suits it fine. She shouldn't change it just because you don't like it. She knows what she's doing.

Christopher / The Art Of Letting Go (40,727) by Edward from USA
Christopher, I don't like "The Art Of Letting Go" as the album title anymore. I think she should give this album a new name, and forget about previous singles. She should get things right this time around. By February 14 everything should be ready and on point: new single, video, and any remixes to go with it. That way she could use her time to promote. Since this album has taken almost five years to finish, all eyes are her to deliver. At this point, not only good music would do, but great management. Timing, good promotion, and consistent performances are going to be key elements in the success of this album. Those three factors were all present on "The Return of the Voice" back in 2005. Most people I know want Mariah to sing again, and I think she can still do it. Since she has recorded so many songs, I can't wait for the treats.

Christopher (40,726) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I agree, a new album title might not be a bad idea. I like TAOLG, but at this point its associated with failure. Perhaps a return to a simpler title would be good. I'm thinking The Emancipation Of Letting Go Of Mimi is a better alternative. That's a joke lol. If letting go is the theme, then perhaps something simple and powerful like Abdication. Sorry, that's the best I could come up with lol.

New album title (40,725) by CMC from NY,NY
Edward, I totally agree. Releasing as a single would seem desperate. At this point she's been out the game so long and to come back with a Whitney cover or release as single (just speculation) the critiques could possibley year her apart. I however was excited about one cover, preferaby Whitney. Two seems a little much considering the 5 year break. I want Mimi originals with necessary duets. Not really wanted an album full of duets to take away from Mariah. We've already had the dreadful Triumphant with Mariah singing hook on her own song. And Mimi singing second half of Beautiful. Really hoping The Art Of Letting Go title is axed. It sounds very tired to my at this point. Something new and fresh would give it much more life. Title thoughts?

Usher (40,724) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Usher has been in the studio with JD recently. I wonder if a Mariah collabo has indeed taken place. It would make sense, seeing as he and Mariah are both long time collaborators with JD.

Hey! I think I can safely claim that I am the only Bangladeshi on this board. Not many people listen to Mariah here, and I am like obsessed with Mariah. About Indrani and TEOM, you are right, her cover and the promo shots were awesome in this era. Sultry yet classy. Indrani was also part of the original photoshoot which was the inspiration for the cover. I don't know if you have seen the originals, there is one pic which is exactly the same pose which Mariah recreated for the regular cover of TEOM. After reading your post I did a quick search to see if Indrani directed any videos, and two names came up. Alicia Keys' "New day" and Bowie's "Valentine's day". I am not sure at all if it's true or not, I did not get to check out the videos yet.

Christopher / Whitney's cover (40,720) by Edward from USA
Christopher, I definitely see Mariah covering a Whitney's song, but she would look desperate if she were to release it as the first or any single, unless radio picks it up on its own and it becomes very popular. We have been discussing "You Give Good Love" for a while here, but just because there were rumors about two possible covers. I'm almost 100% sure that it would only be a tribute to Whitney. I would like her to pick a song that Whitney sung without many highs and lows, so that Mariah is not criticized for trying to go higher than Whitney. Celine has sung "The Greatest Love Of All' as a tribute on the Grammies, and I haven't heard anybody complaining about it. If Mariah brings a retro feel to the album, I think people will reconnect with her again. Those who brought music back in 2013 succeeded greatly, even if it was only one song.

Indrani / Mimi L. (40,719) by 123 from USA
Thank you Mimi L. from Bangladesh. Wow I've never spoken to someone from Bangladesh. I really liked the cover for the Emancipation album. I always thought it was classy and age appropriate and the wardrobe matched the mood of the album (late 70s soul). If Indrani is involved in directing her video, it will be great to see the end result, especially if filmed in Puerto Rico.

Jeezy (40,718) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I hope the collabo everyone is excited about doesn't turn out to be Jeezy. I mean Side Effects was great, but I was expecting a more exciting collab. After 4 years, Jeezy isn't the artisit I want to be the surprise collab with, although I am fine with him being on another track.

Album excitement (40,716) by CMC from NY,NY
One more thing about the Whitney collab for me. I'm extremely excited and open to the idea and agree it would have to be a pre Mariah beginning of Whitney's career record, when I'm sure Mariah was admiring her as an inspiring singer. Although it should not be first single on 2/14 or maybe not even a single, just a buzz for the album would help. I'm looking for uptempos and classic Motown feel. Fresh new production and ideas, killer hooks and classic Mariah. I feel she will bring it she knows this is a crucial album almost 5 years in the making. Chart success is a plus and if it's a killer album I feel Mariah will get the attention. Now is a great time to release it as it seems there are no other divas on the horizon to release. Learned better than to count on Mariah's tentative "late spring" release announcement though. Waiting for a killer single at this point.

Mariah's next masterpiece (40,714) by Bobby A from United States
I really have this gut feeling that one of Mariah's cover will be "Saturday Love" by Cherelle and Alexander. It was written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Now it makes sense why Maxwell was so excited by doing a song with Mariah and why Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are involved with the duet. Mariah is looking foward to collaboration with Young Jezzy produced by Mike Will Made It because Island Def Jam didn't release "Side Effects" as a single back 2006. As far as the album we should have production from the following producers: Hitboy (3 songs), Rodney Jerkins (2 songs), Walter Aftansieff (1 song), The Dream (2 songs), Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (1 song), James "Big Jim" Wright (2 songs), Mike Will Made It (1 song), Q-Tip (1 song) (Jermaine Dupri) (3 songs), Bryan-Michael Cox (1 song), Kirk Franklin or PJ Morton (1 song), Miguel and Happy Perez (1 song) and Boi 1da (1 song) and hopefully a new song by DJ Camper or Babyface with features from Miguel, R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder, Nas, Wale, Young Jezzy, and Maxwell. This is going to be her best album of her career. What do you Lambs or Lambilies think about my predictions?

Indrani is also the same photographer who took Mariah's promo and cover shot for TEOM. Wow. New video announcement already. I'm excited.

New album (40,711) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I can't explain how much I look forward to this new album. And I think it's a certainty that she will put another song out on the 14th of February. I hope the remake wil be something up temo, not a ballad that she has tried lately. The music scene now is not that much about ballads. I hope the whole album will be packed with up tempo songs. Even though Mariah herself says she will put out the new album in late spring, I don't dare to take it as a certainty, I believe it when I see (hear) it.

Whitney cover (40,708) by Trish from USA
I really hope there's no Whitney cover. Their tones are too similar for Mariah to really do anything different with a Whitney song. It might sound harsh but I hate it when people try to cover Mariah (because they just don't compare!) so I imagine a Whitney fan would feel the same. I would rather hear a remake of an old Motown hit (Smokey Robinson song maybe?). I think that would fit nicely with the old school sound of Beautiful and The Art Of Letting Go that I hope is constant throughout the album.

Un-break My Heart with Toni herself, now that would be epic and a great song for Valentine's day.
