Album being pushed back (38,357) by Licia from USA Yep they are pushing the album. Mariah just confirmed it on twitter. I was excited to get the album on 7/23, but I want her to give me a quality album. So if I have to wait longer for the best then I'll wait. (Tuesday 25 June 2013; 4:38)

Favorite lead single / new album / promotion (38,356) by clueey23 from USA My favorite lead single was Touch My Body. And then came #Beautiful. Touch My Body was everything when it came out. I remember downloading the acapella just to hear all of the harmonies at the end of the song. So beautiful. And the remixes. But currently my favorite lead single is #Beautiful. I have been a fan of Miguel since 2010 when he came out with "All I want is you". He is an amazing talent. And MC is my favorite artist ever so the combination is like pure magic. #Beautiful is like classic Americana and one hell of a love song. Simply amazing. It's like understated perfection. and I've enjoyed every live performance. love the way Miguel always sings the harmony to his vocals. That summer jam performance when MC goes into her whistle register, took me back to "All in your mind" days. All I can say is we are in for a real treat with this album. The title "The art of letting go" just speaks volumes for my personal life right now. I'm so excited for these upcoming weeks and I'm glad the promo is starting right on time. Fav lead single and sampling (38,355) by Blake from USA My favourite would have to be Fantasy, but Honey is a close second. TMB as an honorable mention. About WBT, it was the bigger hit but TMB's video still has people talking. So funny and MC looked smoking. I don't get the fuss with the sampling. Alot of haters rip on Mariah and say she's not a songwriter if she uses samples in her songs (Loverboy, Fantasy, Dreamlover, Heartbreaker, etc.) but others sing or rap over an entire song that was a hit years earlier: Puff Daddy, Sean Kingston, etc. I think if it works with the melody that was written, good for them. I'm shocked (38,353) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway I actually didn't know that Heartbreaker was based on the sample of "Attack of the name game". I have now listened to it on YouTube, and I'm shocked that its a complete ripoff. I thought Heartbreaker was similar to Fantasy, but I did think it was a composition on its own. Oh well, I guess all artist borrow from eachother, and I shouldn't be that surprised that the song resembles "Attack of the name game". Never the less, it's the vocal that does it for me on Heartbreaker, so I guess then it was a clever move. I also have to say, that "Touch my body" was a great lead single. I live in Norway, not that too many like Mariah here, but many people like "Touch my body" and often the remixes. I actually think that "Touch my body" was a bigger hit internationally than "We belong together", and many more remember "Touch my body" than WBT. Does anybody else think that TMB was a bigger hit than WBT? (Monday 24 June 2013; 23:02)

Stacey (38,352) by clueey23 from USA My point is, people jump the gun on this message board more often than not. The song is almost 2 months old and the album is coming in July. There is still time for it to grow and be promoted. Along with a 2nd single. But everyone acts like she should've been all over tv on every single talk show last month. We just learned the album title, which I think sounds very deep and introspective. There is still enough time before the album comes out to do all of that. If #Beautiful didn't go top 10, I would be still just as satisfied that I actually still hear MC on the radio, because it's been a minute since we have seen her in the top 20. So constructive critism has a time. And when you jump the gun, it comes off as being negative, especially since she was still in the process of putting the album together. Favorite lead single (38,351) by Stacey from USA I agree with Stephen. All her lead singles during the 90s were so radio friendly with awesome beats, etc. But how do I choose a favorite lead single? So hard. They are all so good. Would you believe I didn't like Fantasy when it first dropped? It took OSD coming out to buy the album and now I can't get enough of Fantasy. Funny how things are sometimes. Ok, it's a tie between Fantasy and Heartbreaker. For me, I normally don't like rappers in songs. I prefer the rapper on the remix. But in this case, Jay-Z's lines fit so perfectly in the song, you can't help but rap along with him. And that beat? Wowza. Fantasy is up there because she changed the course of music by fusing together pop and hip-hop. All the artists who make money off that concept have MC to thank. (Monday 24 June 2013; 19:05)

Meriweatherc86 (38,350) by Stacey from USA We aren't paid experts, but we aren't dumb either. Many of us (me included) have been MC fans for decades. We've been fans of other artists for a long time too. You see trends, what kind of promotional activities that work and what does not. In the past, when a new single, album dropped, MC was all over the place. Then it's seemed the past few weeks have seen a drop off in appearances. Airplay dropped last week. She stayed at #15, and so I'm worried the song may fall a bit before her next appearances. Know what I mean? Only time will tell. No one is being negative about #Beautiful. Some have expressed not liking the song. That's to be expected. However, for the most part everyone here seems to like the song and it's potential. We all want the song to do well. We want buzz to stay high so when the album drops and that all important 2nd single, the album will soar. Know what I mean? It's not called negativity, my friend. It's called constructive criticism. Favourite lead single (38,348) by Musti from UK If we're referring to album versions here, then my fave is Honey. However my all-time fave Mariah uptempo is Heartbreaker (DJ Clue Remix). I still remember listening to it when it first came out in 1999 with my crappy dial-up connection. It was like having my own musical awakening lol. Mariah's taping her part of the event on the 27th for Macy's. 600 complimentary tickets are being given away now. Re Meriweatherc86, negativity, #Beautiful (38,339) by Badr from USA Although the people commenting on this board may not be marketing executives, I believe they are entitled to have an opinion and comment on Mariah's management decisions. Their opinions are worthy, and perhaps the label's executives should be paying attention because, at the end of the day, they are the ones who buy the product. Yes, Mariah has been in the business for 23 years, but I'm sure we can all agree that, with her last 2 projects, a lot of bad decisions have been made. Having said that, I do applaud Meriweatherc86 because sometimes there is a lot of negativity in this board. News flash: Mariah isn't perfect and cannot make everybody happy. It's great being critical, but let's not forget this is a Mariah Carey fan site. In regards to #Beautiful's performance, I hope Mariah is preparing something, because it would be a shame this song gets wasted. It deserves to be at least in the top 10. It's not because I am a fan, but #Beautiful is a great pop/r&b song that contrasts with the tons and tons of shit I find on the radio nowadays. (Sunday 23 June 2013; 10:29)

Favourite first single (38,337) by Bill from the UK Good topic. Mine was definitely Fantasy. I became a fan during 1993/1994 when Music Box and its singles were big in the UK. By the time her Christmas album was out, I was a huge fan and I had purchased her previous albums and played them all constantly every day. When I heard Fantasy on the radio, I remember listening through the whole song, sitting on the floor of my bedroom writing in a diary, then right at the song's climax (exact period was at 3:25 lol) the DJ excitedly said "What an amazing new song from Mariah Carey." And my whole body went cold and I leapt up and hit the record button on my stereo (I always kept a blank tape in it to record songs from the radio). I played the small segment of the song I had (with the DJ talking over it) relentlessly and stayed by the radio until I heard it again and could record from the beginning. It was so different, modern, cool, and unexpected. Still to this day one of the best songs she ever did. (Sunday 23 June 2013; 3:20)

I became a fan when she released Honey, I was 14. But my favourite first single must be Heartbreaker, I had become a huge fan by then, much because of Divas 1998. I remeber the first time I heard it, I sat in the car with my family on our way on holliday. I bought the single, and I fell in love with Heartbreaker/"If you should ever be lonely", I absolutely love that remix.
