Classic Mariah (39,177) by Allan from pennsylvania
There's no denying that Mariah first six albums from 90-96 were some of her best work. The writing was complex and the songs were great, there were not many features on her albums. It's funny to look at an album like Music Box and say to [...], this album only had ten songs on it, yet it was very successful. Mariah has said that she wanted more creative control which is good, but Tommy Motolla knew what worked in terms of success, because after 9 [...] she started a downward spiral.

Geraldine (39,176) by Joanna from Poland
No Geraldine, you're not the only one (at last I'm not the only one too, when it comes to appreciation of these songs ). Almost Home and Hate You are two of my MC's top songs. I like TMB, but I'm not crazy about it. I've always liked a bit different songs and albums than the rest of the crowd here, but it only shows how diverse and unique MC's music is. Cheers.

The nail polish and other things Mariah sells (39,175) by Licia from USA
We can complain and not like the fact that Mariah has decided to do other things besides music, but we all know this music thing is not going to last forever. She has other people besides herself to look out for (her children) and these other ventures are putting extra money in her pocket to take care of them and to be able to keep up that lifestyle that she has become accustomed to. Look at it from her perspective as a business woman and a parent, not as fan who's mad that no new music is out.

Number ones (39,174) by Jeanette from USA
I feel that the songs on her first album that could have been a number one hit are Vanishing, You Need Me and Prisoner. I feel that on the Emotions album the songs that could have been number one are And You Don't Remember, So Blessed and You're So Cold (which was originally going to be released as the first single). I also find it funny (not in a good way) of how artist like Katy Perry releases a song it goes straight to the top five on the Billboard charts (which for it sound like the song Brave by Sara Bare Lilies). It just doesn't make any sense to me how this could be when she released Beautiful and it only peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Re: Mariah's nail polish collection inspired by holiday album (39,173) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
"They may not want a lot for Christmas, but hardcore Mariah Carey fans will probably put the songbird's new nail polish collection at the top of their wish list this holiday season." Really? I consider myself a hardcore fan and I'm sick and tired of all this jewelry, perfumes, shoes, nail polish and the other rubbish Mariah tries to sell us. I just want a new album, and hopefully way before Christmas.

Almost Home (39,172) by Sasha from Nomansland
By the way, am I the only one who thinks that Almost Home and Hate You are great songs? I know it's only a matter of taste, but I dont understand how a song like Touch My Body can top the charts (I think it's a boring and childish song) and not these ones.

Music Box (39,171) by RadChad from United States
Though I officially became a hardcore obsessed fan during Daydream, Music Box was very first CD I purchased (during the Daydream era). I think it Mariah's most commercially perfect pop album to date, it's edgy whatsoever, but it was inspirational, the vocals were magnificent, it served it's purpose of making MC a pop icon. I still enjoy this album because it shows that very perfect, technical singer side of Mariah that we all appreciate and fell in love with. Really all the songs are great and listenable, even though I skip a few here and sometimes I just let it play and truly think mastepiece.

Music Box (39,170) by Sasha from Nomansland
I became a fan with Music Box and even though this album is a little bit too commercial, it contains masterpieces from my point of view: "Anytime you need a friend" and "Hero" (they really conforts me when I'm low), "Without you" (favorite song ever), "Everything fades away" (it's got a haunting feeling) and finally "Never forget you" (incredible vocals and melody). Forgettable songs for me are most of her Hip Hop collaborations, though I enjoy some of them, but I just dont like when she wastes her talent by playing green plants next to rappers in her videos.

Music Box (39,169) by Musti from UK
I really liked Billboard's review of Music Box. There's respect written all over it. I agree that All I Ever Wanted is the albums weakest moment and should have been replaced with Everything Fades Away, which arguably is the best song (not) on the album lol. I've also always loved Music Box the song, nice to see Billboard acknowledging it. However I don't agree with Never Forget You. It's a beautiful song, vocally and musically. Both the album version and the remix are equally beautiful.

All I've Ever Wanted (39,168) by Lee from UK
Mariah has never sounded this good on record and will probably never sound this good again. I can't believe the Billboard review didn't rate this song very well.

Happy Birthday Music Box / Never Forget You (39,167) by Bill from the UK
I can't believe it's been 20 years since Music Box was released. This was the first album of Mariah's I owned, having noticed her when Dreamlover came out. I became a fan when Without You came out (huge hit in the UK), and remember when I got the album on cassette, feeling excited that I knew of Dreamlover, Hero, Without You and Never Forget You (as it was on the other side of the WY single). I don't agree with Billboard's view of NFY. Vocally, it is the best thing on the album, with so many layers, gushy music that just oozes out of the speakers. Sure it's got Babyface's mark all over it, but it brightened the album and stands out from the other Afanasieff ballads.

Music Box (39,166) by Terna from Nigeria
It felt good to see Billboard acknowledge this masterpiece from Mariah. I have been playing it a lot too lately. Though I disagree with their review of "Never forget You", it's actually a standout track in my opinion and one of her best vocals. Babyface and Mariah make magic.

Never Forget You (39,165) by Licia from USA
That is one of the three songs that I listen to from the Music Box cd. That song is one of the best songs from that cd. Mariah and Babyface are magical together. Music Box is my least favorite cd. Unless I'm listening to Dreamlover, Anytime You Need A Friend, or Never Forget You, I hardly ever pull out the Music Box cd. It bores me to tears. Randy, now you have me searching for that JD remix lol.

Never forget you (39,164) by Anonymous from
I love Never Forget You. It is one of my favorite songs. And I don't really care if some people say that it is not a good song. For me it is perfect.

Music Box (39,163) by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC
This album has a special meaning to me. I owned this album on cassette tape multiple times and CD as well. I would listen to MB everyday and even though I don't listen to it all the time as I use to, I still groove to this album whenever I feel the need. Happy anniversary Music Box, a classic that has stood the test of time.

Never Forget You (39,162) by Randy from USA
It's so funny to hear so many people bad mouth something you love. Never Forget You is one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs. Here people come saying, it's forgettable. The vocal is amazing. There is a Jermaine Dupri remix that was a sign of things to come. The lyrics are simple considering the two geniuses that put them together, but overall it's a standout on Music Box for me.

Happy Birthday, Music Box (39,161) by Chase from USA
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite albums. Yes, Music Box was highly formulaic and safe, but it also represented growth. Mariah toned down her vocals, and her increased influence is obvious in the production quality and feeling. Those trends continued with the brilliant Daydream and Butterfly albums. Music Box spawned some of her biggest hits, which stand out as timeless classics in an album of polished, classy filler. I enjoyed the Billboard article, and I agree Everything Fades Away should have been on the album. However, I absolutely love All I've Ever Wanted, and I am grateful for its inclusion. Whether adored or maligned, this is an important album.

Special K, Erica, Joachim (39,160) by Terna from Nigeria
Special K, for real? I didn't know that was your jam off TEOM, I still don't like it though lol. Erica, could that be "MTV Presents Mariah Carey"? I recall she sang songs from Charmbracelet wearing a black gown and a jacket at some point, "Through the rain" was flawless I might add. I hope that helps. Joachim, I beg to differ. "Vision of love" is Mariah's Magna Carta. The song is in a league of its own, though I now get where you're coming from about skipping it lol. I do love that song, though it speaks volumes to me everytime I hear it. "Without you" and the "Other hand" are just ok songs to me, but I love the live versions at Proctor's Theatre much more than the studio version.

Skipped song was once most fav song (39,159) by Ray from Malaysia
There are a few songs I skip because I'm simply not into them. But there is one that I avoided like a plague, for an entirely different reason. It was One Sweet Day. The single came out when I was 17. I loved it to death. It was my anthem. I loved every remix of the song. I listened to them a gazillion times. For so long I was in love with the song. I thought I knew every bit of the song better then the back of my hands. And then the moment came. I couldn't listen to it anymore. I just couldn't. From then on, I always skipped the song. Even hearing a brief intro of it was too much to bear. I guess a fuse must have broken in my brain when it exceeded the breaking capacity. Haha. Right now, I'm slowly trying to ease back into listening to the entire song. It's a slow process, but I think there is progress.

Best covers (39,158) by RadChad from United States
Okay, I wasn't gonna defend it, but I've always jammed To The Floor as well. I thought it was just a cool little laid back groove and "What It Look Like, What It Do", (not worth defending but a stone groove in my book). Randy: I knew my list of skipped songs would be someone else's go to songs. I'm one of those lambs that's happy when folks love MC songs that aren't on my best list. Because atleast somebody appreciates the song. MC's best recorded covers IMO are I'll Be There, Without You, Against All Odds, Open Arms, Didn't Mean To Turn You On. The others are good too, but these are the standouts. I also loved her live renditions of If Only You Knew and You And I.

All in the Lambily (39,157) by Xavier Peoples from United States
Are you the biggest Lamb that you know? I was just thinking the other day that I have never met anyone who loves Mariah as much as I do.

Songs I would skip / Randy (39,156) by Special K from USA
Most of the songs I skip with a quickness come from Rainbow and Memiors. A special skip shout out goes to freaking Did I Do That. Oh yeah, X-Girlfriend, Heartbreaker, How Much, and After Tonight can get some too. Yeah Randy, I be having a hot and cold relationship with freaking Hero. There are times when I love that song to death and think it's a masterpiece, then there are other times I will listen to it I think it's corny as hell, lol.

Terna (39,155) by Special K from USA
Terna, why are my dissing my song To The Floor? That song is off the chain to me. When I hear it, I straight get my groove on something serious, lol. It's all good though.

Erica (39,154) by Jay from USA
Are you refering to Around The World With Mariah that aired on VH1 for the Charmbracelet release? I've seen it on YouTube in six parts. And there are "other" Mariah fan sites that have it for download (i'm not sure if I can mention them here, lol).
(Saturday 31 August 2013; 1:40)
Without You (39,153) by Bill from the UK
I agree that Without You remains her best cover, closely followed by I'll Be There. Without You was flawless, and it introduced her to a lot of us Europeans. As for the fans who said they don't like To the Floor, lol, that is my favourite song from TEOM. Yes, I even rank it above We Belong Together. Don't shoot me.
