Touring (82,912) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) At this point in her career Mariah is considered a legend and legacy act, and like most artists in her position they earn most of their income from touring because record sells are not as big as they used to be. Yes M is a very wealthy woman but in order to keep up her lifestyle and take care of employees and family she has to work and right now touring is helping to keep the revenue coming. What I believe she's doing is keeping "career longevity" which she desires and has talked about. That's what matters, and she's doing it. She's an Elvis, a Michael Jackson, a Madonna, a Cher. Interview about Emotions album (82,910) by Licia from USA I found this short little interview on IG about Emotions. She talked a little about how involved she was with the creation of this album. They highlighted CLG (of course). The interviewer asked her if this album didn't do great how would she feel. She said "If it doesn't do well, then it doesn't do well." You say "Mariah talked about her serious financial problems back in 2001" - when exactly? From my own "research", Mariah has never discussed "serious financial problems" publicly or used a phrasing that resembles that. The quote "the money ain't in my bank account" was said during a 1997 interview with Jamie Theakston when he asked her about a rumor that suggested that she's made 200 million dollars, which at that point was pretty logical since she was only 8 years in the business. Also, during a 2011 interview with Rosie O'Donnel she mentioned that because of the recession and everything that has has happened in recent years "nobody's safe no matter who you are" but that's as far as she gone in making a statement about finances. Mariah is living a very lavish lifestyle and she doesn't tour around the globe for her backup singers or her band but much more because she needs the cash. She had to sold her own G4 (private jet) a few years ago and recently even sold her engagement ring. Mariah talked about her serious financial problems back in 2001 and all the hundreds of millions, that people think she owns, do not exist. She mentioned it herself at TRL. "The money ain't in my bank account." Of course she has enough money to live a good life, but she is no James Packer. He could afford to pay $100,000 a month to order Mariah exotic flowers from all over the world and gifting her with expensive jewellery, because he is a billionaire. Think about it: what if, um, Roc's nose, er, runs? What if Monroe gets a really really really sore throat? Who will perform the emergency surgery? Who will counsel Mariah through this terrible time? And I am beginning to think that the album isn't coming out until 2019. If the album was finished in September, when is she going to have time to do promotion before it drops in 2018? She is in Asia much of October through November 6th. And she said in an interview that December is not a great month to release a new album. So true, because she is in Europe for the Christmas shows. She's sad in the Lauer interview because her marriage was imploding. Only two offical singles were released from MIAM, #Beautiful and You're Mine (Eternal) and I honestly believe IDJ was responsible for You're Mine being chosen as the second (as well as Bye, Bye) because they wanted to replicate the success of It's Like That/We Belong Together. Mariah obviously owns the masters to the songs she recorded during her time at IDJ since she was able to include WBT, DFAU, and TMB on #1 to Infinity. It makes sense since when she signed her deal with IDJ her albums were supposed to be released through her MonarC record label. (Monday 25 June 2018; 19:10)

I wander if she's cooking several albums to be released back to back kinda like in the 90's. I believe it would be a smart move. Seeing Janet Jackson, with all her appearances, it's clear that she's gonna put out music soon otherwise she wouldn't bother with all these appearances. She released a strong album not so long ago. Some parts where lips here and there (we all know where exactly and frankly there aren't that many) but she worked the transition to perfection. Sometimes we don't realize that some parts of Mariah's voice have actually become much stronger compared to earlier in her career. I think she knows her instrument so much better now whereas before she would just sing whatever her circumstances because she just could. She was younger and therefor more in shape, she was also less in charge of everything, she also didn't have 2 babies to take care of. Noone really seems to ask: how does Mariah handle it when her kids have a cold, for instance? I highly doubt she'd say "bye kids I'm leaving for the islands until you get better". No she's there for her kids and probably exposes herself to germs just like any parent would do. And then she has to go onstage, worried sick because her kids have a fever, and with early symptoms of a cold herself. Giving her kids and her lambs her all. (Sunday 24 June 2018; 03:10)
