Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,782) (85,799) by Special K from USA
You need to windmill fight CB's 1% vote on the EF ranking list. I kidd, I kidd. Hmm let's see, oh well no surprise Butterfly is number one. Boom.

1111 (85,798) by tadatorao from japan
Just watched Mariah's performance in 1111 Singles' Day Gala. She sang Emotions and Hero. After the performance, the host asked her what she would like to get if she shopped online in China. She said she would like to get a toy panda for her twins, or a real one if possible. Diva as always.

Caution (85,797) by Jhonny from Canada
My views on Caution singles so far. GTFO a good song. I must say Mariah looks very beautiful in the video. I wish the video had a storyline and not only focusing on her alone. With You a beautiful song and video. I missed Mariah's big vocals on this song, maybe a WBT ending. The Distance is a very good song, sounds modern and loves the music. A No No my favorite so far, great lyrics and good sound. I really hope she did a video for this song and with a good story line maybe with someone famous like WBT video or It's Like That video. So far I am not disappointed with the songs we heard.

Re: Bipolar and vocal issues (85,740) (85,796) by B from USA
I don't think Mariah embraced Hip-hop to hide her failing voice. I've always believed Mariah's musical direction after divorcing Tommy, with the exception of Charmbracelet, was her making the music she'd always wanted to make.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,776) (85,795) by B from USA
I've always wondered why There For Me wasn't included on Rainbow. Although I love the verses to Did I Do That it could have and probably should have been replaced by There For Me.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,776) (85,794) by Edward from USA
I like "There For Me" and I would definitely switch it for "Did I Do That" on "Rainbow". The lyrics are meaningful, but the song is boring and kind of sung without soul. This is not the case with "Right To Dream" which she sings like she means it, with soul.

Congrats. You must be excited. I'm going too and I'm super happy.

Re: All I want for my birthday is to see Mariah Carey (85,761) (85,792) by Andrew from UK
Meeting Mariah is not going to be the summit of happiness you think will be. Telling her how much you love her won't solve anything, it won't lead to anything. Rather take comfort in her catalogue and celebrate the highs and lows of life that way. Focus upon small things to build upon which will let you lead a normal life. I wish you good luck.

Absolutely. There For Me is a turkey of a song. But don't tell that to Randy. It's Right to Dream 2.0 for ole Randy.

The Distance (85,789) by Bobby A from United States
So MC is going to perform The Distance live on The Tonight Show. That can only mean that The Distance will be the official second single. I really feel that The Distance is going entice the masses to buy Caution. Target tweeted this week that there will not be a Target Exclusive. I am still hoping for something extra for U.S. Lambs.

Connect to music (85,787) by Lafa from Sweden
What are we actually stretching for at this message board? Some rhyhmes don't fit your mouth when we can easily see shows and shows of noses and lipstick and we know what we know then, that music is really something we all connect to differently.

Listened too much? (85,786) by Lafa from Sweden
I have listened to Mariah so much that it is like trying to force three cars to fit in one parking slot. Lol.

Was it "too gay" in 1999? Did straight guys stay away because of the rainbow? I don't know.

Re: Mariah Carey in Madrid (85,763) (85,784) by TJ from Norway
There's no promotions in Norway either. The concert isn't even listed as a Christmas concert on ticketmaster here. Crazy.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,760) (85,783) by TJ from Norway
It's just so difficult. I think I have to say Music Box. I guess the reason why, is that I was 16 when it was released and was full of emotions (as most kids are). It was so exciting to buy the album, read all the lyrics and messages from Mariah on my way home, before I got to listen to the songs. I became a fan of Mariah when she released VOL, but didn't start to collect singles and stuff before the release of Dreamlover. It was nice to be a crazy fan back then. I just had to have all versions of her singles. Lol. How I miss that.

The Mariah Experience (85,781) by Mara from United States
We will be heading into the City on that Friday but I know we won't make it there by 11am. It sounds like you have to get there early to get the wristband as they are first come first serve. I wonder if you will be able to see anything if we head over a while before she is set to come. It would still be interesting to see what they set up. People will probably be lined up way before 10am. I'm just grateful I'm able to see this neat interactive roll out. I think it's a very neat idea and in this day of Instagram and social media, it will be great promotion.

Re: Can Mariah still sing? Sheila I ask? (85,752) (85,780) by B from USA
Mariah's performance of TGIFY was also the highlight of the night I attended. I still can't believe I was there the night Ratner filmed the performances scenes for the video. He was filming the entire night and only focused on the crowd during the performance of Infinity and during the three takes after the show. Wonder if he filmed the concert for the Butterfly in Vegas documentary or dvd that never happened?

Hi Randy. I agree with you almost on everything but, to me, There For Me sounds like a demo or an unfinished song. I don't like it at all. However, I bought the Never Too Far/Hero single just to complete my collection.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,771) (85,777) by enwar00 from usa
I'm not a big fan of There For Me either. They pushed it on the radio when it was released, in my opinion to take focus off Glitter, but it never really caught on. I get why it was relegated to the B-side of what was already a dud single. I'm even trying to remember what it sounds like but The Star keeps playing in my head instead. Meanwhile the brilliant Lead The Way just sat there as an album track.

Re: Poor Rainbow, record rankings (85,771) (85,776) by Randy from USA
Hector my man I thought we agreed on most things. There For Me has the most dramatic intro, those piano chords and strings let you know something serious is about to happen. And the way she sustains those notes in the hook and at the end. Ima have to fight you and Andrew on this one.

Re: Mariah Carey in Madrid (85,763) (85,775) by Fernando from UK
Hello. I'm going to the Madrid concert. I'm going with my best friend who is not a total lamb but who enjoys Mariah enough to tolerate a concert lol. It would be cool for a few of us to meet and have a drink or two before the concert.
