GTFO snippet (83,691)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
I sort of like it. Smooth, easy going track. But so far I don't like the style and pitch that she is singing it. The lyrics are muffled, but maybe it will sound better on full listen. Good luck Mimi.

Agree. For the first time ever, I am dreading the release of a Mariah album. Never thought I'd say that. What the hell is she thinking? She's flirting with 50 and coming out with this? Lord help us.

What would you like her to release? She has every song she could possibly come up with in her catalog. Get over it, you also didn't even hear the whole track. If she did a song like Fantasy, Honey, Heartbreaker everyone would be like oh it sounds the same, exactly what happened with You're Mine. I actually listen to her music to hear what she has to say as a person and then get into the whole song. People be so quick to judge.

Best single cover we've seen in years. Reminds me of "The Roof" single cover, it's beautiful and elegant. Being produced by Nineteen85 is very promising, for those of us that enjoy current R&B Hip Hop and aren't trapped in the '90s. The title totally falls in the vain of Dua Lipa IDGAF.

That snippet is what it is: boring, slow, unmelodic. *This* is the so-called big comeback? She has lost her way. Maybe the album should be called "The End of Mimi".

GTFO snips (83,683)

I just heard a snippet (possibly altered) of GTFO. I'm very glad that the portion of the track I did hear sounds like she is not going to follow the trends like her counterparts. It's a bit unexpected tbh, especially for a song that has been already been labeled as an immature, unnecessary diss track. I hope all of the lambs keep an open mind. If not, then what's the point of even listening to the song upon its release.

That doesn't sound like Stella. People acting like it's a given who it's about, well it's anybody's guess. Which is a good reason not to write petty, seemingly particular songs. But if one does, make it crystal clear. I just knew JD was shading her new music.

I'm sorry to say that, but I don't like the title. GTFO, doesn't sound promising. I dind't know what it means but if it means get the f. out it sounds aggressive indeed.

It's produced my "Nineteen85", who produced Drake's "Hot Line Bling" and "One Dance" and a few others and Nicki's "truffle Butter". So JD isn't involved. I heard the snippet, can't judge the song from it, because it could either be the chorus, or the beginning of the song (which hopefully leads to a banger). From the snippet it's chill and mellow, I was hoping for a banger though, but I'm just excited there's new Mariah music. If rumors are true, this will soon be followed by a second single in October called "With You".

Is it just me, or doesn't the picture and the title express the same? I think the picture is too much "look at me, I'm trying to be innocent and sexy", the title says "I'm trying to be a bad ass, even if it doesn't fit me". Now I'm worried.

If it's produced by JD will there be any freshness to it? I hope it is good. The title gives me "I don't" vibes all over again. I can't wait tbh.

Re: 5 best songs of the 90s (83,661) (83,666)
by Andrew from UK

It is a spectacularly awful attempt at prose. But then look at the publication from which it came (yeah I'm doing it on purpose lol) - TV mag trash. My biggest gripe is the order of the top 5. I know people are entitled to their opinions but mine are always correct. As the 90s move ever further away in years and our consciousness, I have, with hindsight, changed my mind about the top Mariah song of them. It surely must be All I Want For Christmas Is You. That song will outlive all of us and be played every year long after the memory of Mariah and even our own grandchildren's grandchildren have dissipated. Surely it is one of the greatest songs of all time. I don't like the fact that Mariah will be remembered for Christmas which is somewhat gimmicky, but it is a true modern masterpiece. Number one song of the 90s it must be. Even if she's made numerous efforts to [censored] the song up ever since.
