I hate Sprung. That song to me should never been leaked or recorded. Lol. I love Secret Love through. I enjoy how they tried to incorporate Secret Lovers by Atlantic Starr in the song. That's one of my favs. If it had been up to me I would have replaced So Lonely part II with Secret Love. Although I like So Lonely, Secret Love would have been a better bonus track imo.

That's actually a great point Will. Lol. It sucks just how tricky this will be for her because she has to somehow please the old ass fans, try to bring in newer fans , and still somehow try to make an album that the label will stand behind and push.

"Sprung" / "Secret Love" (82,204)
by Billy from Greece
| |
|

I was checking a recent Japanese version of the "Mimi" CD and I noticed that they have included "Secret Love" as well, so I listened to it after quite some time I have to admit. Very cute song, very boppy. I presume that it must have been written in the earlier stages of the album, just an assumption. Same for "Sprung". The album did move into a somehow different direction with the last-minute JD collabos (for the better), but I'm curious what other fans think about these two songs. "I Feel It" is probably the best "lost" song of these sessions, but since it was never officially released, I guess these two are the official b-sides from the "Mimi" era. Such a shame "I Feel It" was not included on the final tracklist.

Just because he's co-producing songs with Mariah doesn't mean he co-wrote them with her. Jay, the other Jay not Jay-Z, said Jay-Z and company had Mariah working with several writers writing songs for her new album. Remember during the Charmbracelet sessions when she wrote several songs with 7 Aurelius? Only one of those songs made the album, Subtle Invitation. I'm still waiting for Reach for the Sky, another of their collaborations to be leaked. It is not uncommon for an artist to work on several songs with several different producers before choosing which songs to include once recording is finished.

Exactly. Jay-Z will not be dragged into this Mariah's actual manager will be. Besides, it isn't hard to explain why she decided decisions Stella made weren't in Mariah's best interest, they weren't they were in Stella's and Mariah's mental state at the time those deals were made makes them null and void. If a person has a mental disorder that is untreated that makes him or her unable to judge the nature or quality of the deal. Stella thinks Mariah will settle out of court but I hope she doesn't. Mariah smokes weed? Stella and her daughter were photographed at a dispensary in Aspen with Mariah. Stella says Mariah violated labor laws? How can she prove this when her and her entire family were living with Mariah? She pissed Mariah backed out of her last chance at fame, the VH1 reality show. Her motives were clear to everyone but Mariah from day one. She wanted to become the next Kris Jenner and to turn Mishka into the new Kim K, which is why she convinced Mariah to do a reality series on E.

Stella is desperate. Suing Mariah for sexual harassment because Mariah, a female entertainer who has several costume changes per show, was naked in-front of her (which is the exact same suit Stella's third cousin twice removed/baby daddy filed after he was fired) is laughable. As for any violations of labor laws I'm sure that will be easily dismissed. I mean when was she working? While at No-bu drinking champagne or telling Page Six to [censored] themselves and to lose her number? Or convincing Mariah to do reality shows in an attempt to turn herself and her daughters into the next Kardashians. Everything she did as Mariah's manager was to benefit her and her children. Stella better flee to Russia because once Mariah's team hires a forensic account she's screwed.

Once we begin having expectations of what kind of songs we want to hear, basing them on her back catalogue, then that's when I fear disappointment sets in when the album/single doesn't meet what we wish to hear. We ask her to move out her comfort zone, and work with new producers, yet ask for her to recreate her past songs. Can't have both.

The Polarity Tour (82,197)
by Andrew from UK
| |
|
|
Bored. Hungover. So here is my list of the tour Mariah should be putting on - songs which are not her standard tour fayre, songs that would remind people of her deep and overwhelming back catalogue and songs that she could probably sing live (and for which I would forgive the odd lipsync).
Act one Cry. It's Like That Honey (So So Def) My All/Stay A While Underneath the Stars #Beautiful
Act two Migrate (SHBAS) Bringing on the Heartbreak You Dont Know What To Do Say Something Triumphant Close My Eyes
Act three Cruise Control Get Your Number Languishing Open Arms Make It Happen Almost Home
Encore Never Too Far/Hero

MC should collaborate with David Garcia and Josh M. (82,195)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
David Garcia and Josh Miller co-wrote Bebe Rexha and FGL's Meant To Be. This song is hot and has broken all records on the charts and having massive sales. Can you imagine if Mariah stepped out of her box and wrote a couple of songs with these Country Pop song writers? Their collaboration would be reminisce of her songs with Ben Margulies and Walter Afansieff. David Garcia co-produced Carrie Underwood's upcoming album, Cry Pretty. This album is going to take Carrie Underwood to a soulful and emotional place she has never gone before on any of her other albums. And all because of David Garcia. Checkout his website. He is a very talented songwriter and producer.

We have seen videos or read the following about what we can expect with this new album: 1. Possible collaboration with The Weekend. 2. Snippet of a Busta Rhymes collaboration. 3. 2017 YouTube video of Mariah in studio with DJ Khaled and Travis Scott. 4. Possible collaboration with Childish Gambino. 5. DJ Suss One says she is 7-8 songs in. 6.. And just recently 7-8 songs in with Poo Bear. I am hopeful for more songs like Mine Again, Lullaby, Circles, Can't Let Go, and Melt Away.

Stella created the hostile work environment. Mimi was tragically playing along or being a dang tool. And silly Banaka was the ultimate tool in the MW show and beyond. Stella is going to need to focus on the financial aspect off their contracts IMO with her being a silly reality show producer and scriptwriter, it's going to problematic for her to make a case for all her of other nonsense. All of her own stupid decisions would be exposed and scrutinized.

That's the crazy part. None of the other people who got fired or quit ever said anything against Mariah. Some did put old Stella on blast , but they didn't do any of this mess to Mariah. I don't understand Jay being brought into it either. Stella ought to know that his team is not going to take this lying down. I also hope Mariah's team has their stuff together. I hope that whomever takes on the sexual harassment part of the lawsuits puts Stella's trash ass on blast for putting her children in this position and for staying around for as long as she did if it was such a hostile environment. Stella could have walked away long before three years.

"Side Effects" is a great up-tempo. If PooBear produces something like it, wonderful. I read he produced "Caught up" by Usher. Also a very catchy tune. I just hope the album won't get too overproduced. And I agree it's a little bit early to be too positive or negative about a new detail musically. But I'll stay excited. New music from Mariah is needed.

Jay Z dragged in (82,186)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|

This headline seems false. There is no reason for Jay Z himself to be dragged in. Certainly there may be an issue of who owes what to whom as a result of their split, but all the scandalous headlines are just mean on Stella's part. Hopefully Mimi and her team will ask for a proper accounting of the monies Stella owes to Mimi or that she has stolen from her. They could have severed ties quietly and professionally, but Stella is neither of those things. Mimi actually got off easy from her prior team which she and Stellar slandered. Interestingly, many of those people who quit or got fired depending on who you believe, have still wished Mimi well with her recent disclosure. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on the remaining snake or two left in her camp.

Licia / according to...... (82,185)

Thank you everyone. Is so quick to dismiss the music or the person or people she is choosing to work with because they are not the people or person that they have suggested. Poobear has worked in both the pop and R&B genres with well known artists but he is also working with artists from different countries trying to break into the American music world. Also Walter A was an assistant producer and musician when he started working together with MC during the debut era, through their ability to create and the vibes that connected MC and Walter she and Tommy thought it would be a great idea to bring him on as a head producer during the Emotions album but he became her main producer with the Music Box album until they parted ways professionally after the creation of Butterfly.

I agree. Let's just see what she comes up with before we hate it. I don't know who is this guy is, but I'm willing to give it try. For some anybody she works with that's black or not Walter Alka-Seltzer it's going to be an issue, but if the music turns out good it shouldn't matter. *shrugs*

I had to laugh because of the name of the producer. What a funny name. Hmm I would prefer producers that are more "old-school" professionals with a grown-up rnb/soul vibe. I love "Feel it", an album with retro soul and some classic ballad would be my dream. Plus one or two in the style of "Fantasy". A catchy summer tune is always perfect when done by MC.
