I have only listened to Fourth of July maybe twice. Now I need to go and revisit the song. I love when y'all make me go and give certain songs another shot. It's like getting brand new music. Thanks for sharing.

She had one of the best industry managers going for touring in 2012 briefly with Irving Azoff. He is the head of Live Nation and has been in the music business forever. That was her chance at the age of 42 to start her touring career properly. I have no idea why she dropped him.

E=MC2 could have been in the same legendary status as TEOM, if not a bigger hit, had it been promoted right.

E=MC2 is highly underrated (76,736) by Sheila from United States
I agree with these [sic] post, I think the cd could have had so many hits but Bye Bye being released and no promotion after Bye Bye ruined the CD's chances of being diamond. Cruise Control is hot, Thanks 4 Nothin, I Stay In Love, For The Record are all hot.

Re: Thanks for Nothing in Baku (76,731) (76,735) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes "Cruise Control" should have been a hit. The whole album has so many good songs that didn't get the attention they deserved. Migrate, Side Effects and For the record had also great potential to become a hit. I love EMC2 so much. Great album.

Re: It's not to stay relevent (76,726) (76,734) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes I do hope te music is her priority too. Or let's say will be again. It's ok to have side projects but please not only for making fast money. In the 90ies the commercials for Japan were great. The Pinko and perfume stuff is also nice. But the latest deals like champagne, match.com, the "Israel"-water and Dead Sea cosmetics, private gigs for rich people I'm not a fan of this. I want new music which is heartfelt with great lyrics. Pop, Soul, Rnb, Jazz whatever she wants to do. And if Mariah is no longer interested in "normal" album releases, it's ok. All I'm asking for is to bring back the professional behavior with a good taste (without using the f. and too much diva-talking.) It's getting boring and she's so much more than this.

What Mariah doesn't realize is that she's losing money. After 40 touring is the next money making for legends. She has destroyed her image and live reputation for short term money and bad judgement (management, pr). It's not surprising she is a guest on someone else tour with a team unqualified to manage anyone in the music industry. Mariah is risking her future projects (tours, private events, Vegas money). If she wants to make big money professionalism is the way to go. She needs levelheaded people around her.

One off shows (76,732) by lil star from untied states
I don't feel like the vocals were as horrid as people led me to expect. But that being said there is a huge difference when Mariah does one off shows and concert tours like Vegas and Christmas. I just don't think she puts in the practice and warm ups needed. And I don't belive she does her run throughs. To me it sounds like she just goes up with no direction and throws around notes and hope they land. Kind of like if you go sing at a random karaoke bar and don't know how the sound is and pick a song you know but have never done before. She shouldn't do the one off shows if she's not going to put in the work.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Cruise Control was meant to dominate the airwaves in summer. It's the potential song of the summer. It's got "smash hit" all over it. It could've been Mariah's 19th number one after TMB. I'm still bitter about it lmao.

Hey Thank You Terna. I feel the same way about you and a few others here who love Mariah, the artist, the woman. You haven't been posting a lot lately and I started to worry. It felt very lonely here. Mariah, her music as well as the beauty of her soul which, to me, clearly shines through her music even to this day, have helped me a lot in my life. I don't understand how some people can waist so much time criticizing someone they claim to love. It makes no sense to me at all. If you have nothing positive to say about someone, then it means you don't love the person. So let it go and love someone else. Get a life. Anyways I admire how you're able to take the high road Terna. Meeting you there soon.

Yeah you're right, even Brett cut ties with him. And he was basically married to him. They were business partners. And they are not anymore I believe. I wonder what happened. Maybe Stella, who might be a newcomer in the game but who's definetly protective of Mariah, realized something was wrong with his business attitude and that's why he was horrible to her. The rumor says Packer went into a rage with a female employee of MC. I don't know. Just speculating.

Re: Mimi's response about Packer's whereabouts (76,725) (76,728) by Lila from United States
The tickets actually weren't free. It's just that Packer allegedly paid for 17 very expensive tickets but then handed them out like party favors to Benjamin Netanyahu's wife Sara Netanyahu and the head of an Israeli Intelligence Yosef Cohen. The tickets were just free for those two and whomever they then handed them out to in turn. I think it very likely happened. I also don't think it was a coincidence that the first time Mariah performed in Israel, she also so happened to be "dating" a man with personal and political ties to the head of state.

Re: It's not to stay relevent (76,720) (76,727) by Licia from USA
Some of the stuff she's promoting and doing is strictly to keep herself visible/relevant and for the money. Maybe back in the day her side deals were creative outlets or whatever, but not now. Call it what it is. She's stacking her money because the music industry doesn't pay like it used to and before she completely stops making music she's looking for a for sure money maker. That's all it is. Although I don't like or want anything she's been peddling, I get why she's doing it.

Re: It's not to stay relevent (76,720) (76,726) by T from USA
It's just a little concerning that at the latest press conference she said she's doing many various projects and also working on a new album "in addition" to the other various projects. To me it sounds like the album is an after thought and she doesn't sound as excited as she does for those top secret things. I hope that's not the case. I know albums and music don't make as much money these days but please make the album your number one priority.

Mimi's response about Packer's whereabouts (76,725) by RibbonB from USA
"I don't know where the M Fer is." Now that was iconic, lmao. I'm sure she may get flack if anyone notices. Reporters ask such stupid questions. The irony is he got in trouble for giving out free tickets to her show. That seems like a bunch of crock, but the story is out there. If Mimi were really smart she would never have entangled herself with JP, Stella or the rest of the clowns over the past two years.

Re: Does anyone believe in Karma? (76,696) (76,724) by RibbonB from USA
Her NYE problems resulted from technical difficulties and her response to them, or rather her lack of an effective response. At least her "ears" worked at Essence. She likely prepared more with JD there and her credibility on the line with that audience in particular. Stella is a flop manager and I still believe she sabotaged her own client. I would not put it past her.

B she was making herself look bad long before the breakup. He would have looked so bad if he actually appeared on that debacle of a reality show. The whole thing was a confused mess, start to finish. Mimi shows more emotional attachment and commitment to that bauble ring than she ever did to the man who gave it to her.

Article: Mariah Carey's concert held in Baku (76,722) by Matthew from USA
I suppose one way to look at this is that she is displaying a lot of confidence. It's funny, because when she was slim and trim she would wear these skimpy outfits on shows and interviews and she never really seemed comfortable. She would show up to 106th and Park in booty shorts, and then use a pillow to cover herself during the interview and things like that. It was always awkward. Now that she is getting bigger, her confidence seems to be at an all time high. To the point where she will just let it all hang out with pride even though it's looking a mess. But I guess as long as she is confident, then that's what matters. Hopefully it is confidence and not delusion.

Re: Karma (76,721) by Nikki from usa
People believe whatever gets the most hype, but "Mariah" didn't cancel her South American tour. She couldn't do it period. The promoters failed on their end and wrote an apology on their website. Mariah filed a lawsuit against them last year for that breach in contract. Her NYE performance was a fluke from the get-go because she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. Dick Clark Productions was in a bind when they couldn't get that year's biggest act as their headliner. Mariah agreed to cut her vacation short with her kids in Aspen to do them a favor. She wasn't about to do any vocal rest while on a family holiday. Not to mention major outdoor events like that are lipped 99% of the time anyway. Her performance was a product of sabotage. Which she actually could prove. Which is why her lawyer made a statement and DCP removed her performance from their website while she was able to keep her check in full. In return, she had to stay silent about it. Which is why she never went in on the details like she said she would after commenting about her inner ears not working. She took a break from social media and then chalked it up to "behind the scenes stuff that nobody would understand unless they were in the industry". Of course that makes her a patsy. Once people know you're willing to be a patsy they won't hesitate to use you as a scapegoat. I expect to see more complaints about Mariah this year if anything else she does goes wrong.

It's not to stay relevent (76,720) by Nikki from usa
Mariah's projects have to do with a creative outlet - I'm sure getting paid is a nice bonus, but I doubt it's the main priority. I think people, including her fans, sometimes get lost in her celebrity. Mariah likes intimate connections. I'm not referring to relationships. Given a choice would Mariah prefer to sing in an arena or a theatre? Would she like a global brand or several local ones? Mariah's been doing little behind the scenes projects for years now. She did commercials throughout the 90's for Japan. She was a model for the 2007 year in Italy for their Pinko brand. Mariah's creative and wants other ways of expressing it and simply to try new things. Small projects don't require as much commitment as large ones. This gives her more opportunity to branch out and delve into more things. It also provides her with more mommy time in between. Mariah is a driven personality. Those kinds of people don't retire and need constant stimulus.

Eduoard, your positive attitude and optimism makes me smile and kinda reminds me of Mariah. It's ones like you I believe are real people first of all, and true lambs. You stand out easily on here and are a breath of fresh air. Don't change. Lots of love.

The press conference (76,716) by Lila from United States
What I got out of it all is that Mariah needs to stop thinking that being ignorant is cute or absolving and pick up a book or hit up google more often. Educate herself. Maybe then she'd know better than to get involved with a man whose friends with the head of state of Israel, have dinner with the head of State of Israel and his wife, get involved with a shady Israeli company that scams people and upholds the theft of Palestinian lands and making life harder for Palestinians. Then again, she also said that she's not interested in what's said about politics that do not affect her life, so even if she knew I guess she wouldn't care.
