So happy with her progress (79,678) by Marissa from USA
I'm so proud to see Mariah making so much progress in terms of her happiness, style of dress and performing in such a short period of time. It also looks like she's spending way more time with her kids now that she doesn't have as many distractions (and y'all know who those distractions are). When you have the right people around you, things start to go in the right direction and that's what I'm seeing now. I wish her continued blessings and happiness.

Nice review Eddy glad you had a great time. What was new to the set list from the last time you attended? Any nice surprises?

Charmbracelet anniversary (79,676) by Brad from USA
There's really nothing quite like the artistry of "Subtle Invitation". I have loved this song since I was "12". I sense she loves it too and that is why she performed it regularly in her prior concert series. I imagine her singing it in an open air setting, like at a venue overlooking the Caribbean, accompanied by a live band. It just has that breezy, natural feel to me. It's a terrific combination of mature lyrics that are sung to "perfection" for effect and supported by lush yet authentic music. I can really only dream of more songs like this from our dear MC.

New assistant (79,673) by SM from Citizen of the World
Does anyone know if Mariah has a new personal assistant? And I didn't see Kristopher at her NYC show last night thought as odd I always see him.

Hey Edward. Wasn't it amazing? I'm the fan with the lamb costume. Mariah ultimately regardless of what people think, is humble and so down to earth. She continues to show all her lambs so much love. On a side note, does anyone have any videos of her interacting with me from Monday December 4th?

Re: Lipped "Star" performance? (79,664) (79,671) by Andrew from UK
Kiss your mother with that mouth? Let me make the point a little clearer for you, big boy, because it's not old, it's actually pretty new: Mariah was urged by me and many other fans to write songs with a more restricted range, that were easier to sing wholly live. The Star is, ostensibly, one such song. But she's lipped even that. I question her actually pressing the vocals without engineering if she can't reproduce them live, given that even I can sing The Star all the way through with a modicum of skill. I thought it was the one song at the London O2 next week she'd actually sing live. So, "ugh". I'm glad you're still reading me, though. I do love my fans. How's the fan club going? Still just you, GG, Brandon, Terna and the rustbelt lesbo tearing your hair out about the mean white, British boy who just won't shut up? Keep readin', sweetheart.

Re: Edward (79,665) (79,670) by Edward from USA
I didn't go last year, but I'm glad she mixed it up a bit. She sung Emotions, We Belong Together and Hero. O Holy Night and Joy To The World were highlights. Probably it was just me, but the atmosphere was so Counturella-free that it was surreal. I didn't sense any drama, everybody in the audience was happy, everybody on stage looked relaxed. The transitions between costume changes were great too. Except for one of the kid-dancers, a little girl, that sung a couple of songs that sounded like a goat who had drunk apple cider vinegar undiluted, the show was great. Thirty minutes before the show started, the theater was half way empty, I was nervous and a little sad, but out of the blue, a flock of lambs got in last minute and the house was packed. At some point and looked around and thought: "If the entire MCArchives community were here, we would all be on the same page for at least for a couple of hours, lol. Even Andrew would put his lipsynching detector down and enjoy himself."

It's so great to read you saying this. It's definitely great to see a turn around in her behavior and demeanor. I hope she keeps it up. Life's too short for a bunch of nonsense.

Thanks again for the review. Glad you had a great time Edward. I always knew that Mariah had it in her to put on a great show. Mariah is one of the best singers in the known world. Plus I love how she writes everything that she sings. I personally would love to see her live. I am a big fan. Once again thank you for the review.

Yes, it's good to read the description/point of view of the concert. Edward you lucky one, to see Mariah in NY. What a nice way to start the holiday season. Was the set list the same than last year? Well, except for "The Star".

Lord knows it is so old now. Get over it. She lips. Who cares? Why keep bringing it up over and over again? Find something else to debate about. It's so old and annoying now. If you don't like the current Mariah, who cares? Stop worrying about what she does. Why does it bother you that much? Sick, sad, pathetic. Just move on, ugh.

Re: Lipped "Star" performance? (79,659) (79,661) by Andrew from UK
Oh, come on, lmao. If anyone cannot digest that she lips the more (but not very) difficult parts of that song then, quite simply, they're either a bit stupid or a liar. And they get to have an "opinion" that it is not partially lipped respected about as much as an "opinion" that the Earth is flat is respected. Totally wacko.

Beacon Theater, December 4 (79,660) by Edward from USA
I have to simply say that Mariah was great last night. I'm so proud of her. The show was a little simpler in terms of what was happening on stage compared to the first show I went to in 2015, but this time Mariah was more alive and confident. She was radiant and looked happy. She is not as skinny as some people might think from those pictures online, but she's definitely slimming down, she now looks great, a woman with some volume, and she even have some well rounded junk in her five-star trunk. She gave us just the right dose of diva here and there, and the interaction with her fans was great, especially with a fan that was wearing a lamb costume that caught her attention from the beginning. He was having a drink or something, and she asked him: What are you drinking? and he said: a splash, lol. Mariah was more present. I was paying close attention and I didn't detect any lipping. If she did it, at least she learned how to lip to perfection, but I have to tell you guys, watching a clip online could be very deceiving. Mariah dodged a few notes here and there, but she did it in a way that it wasn't like she tried and fail, but rather that she didn't go there. Dem babies came when it was their time to do their part, but they behaved nicely, thank God, Monroe is adorable with her pose, she's like a little princess and in not way a mini Mariah in terms of how she was dresses and behaves. This time around I watched without having people blocking my view or any distractions, and the woman can still put on hell of a show. Her whistles were crisp and effortless. Seeing her happy, present, and enjoying her concert made me really happy to be a fan.

I loved it. The "lipped" debate is so overdone at this point that people genuinely do not give her credit when she is singing live. Lol.

Re: Lipped "Star" performance? (79,640) (79,658) by darrian liu from taiwan
The performance isn't fully live. Most of it were live, but there is still lip sync. This, however, doesn't have anything to do with her not being able to hit the notes (side-eyes Andrew). The proof is that Mariah could sing phrases with higher notes compared to the lipped lines in the performance itself. Her problem is more with confidence and breath control. The chorus isn't demanding range-wise for Mariah, but the line's pretty much continuous. It's more of a breath control problem, really. Either way, she sounds absolutely delightful, especially in the very end of the performance. Very smooth, buttery tone, and beautiful vibrato all throughout as well

Thank you for posting. When this song got released I liked it, but I felt it was too simple. After seeing and hearing her sing it live I realized she finally recorded a song in a way that's easier for her to sing live. I really appreciate that. Anyway sounded live and great to me. *shrugs*

Wonder why he recorded it in the first place then. I remember I used to be on the MariahCarey.com message board at the time. Also remember buying a bunch of TTR singles and distributing them in the mall to a few baffled people.

I sure was all in my feelings when you shaded my beloved CB. You are just disrespectful Special K. Lol I agree about You Had Your Chance. She utilized the heck out of that sample and came up with a great song. I really enjoy the end when she's singing the chorus in her whistle register. The song just works on so many levels.
