AIWFCIY re-enters (79,650) by darrian liu from taiwan It's back in the Hot 100 at #21, it's highest debut to date. There is a real chance of it actually cracking the top 10, as her streaming numbers this year are phenomenal. It's currently #5 in the Spotify USA chart, #11 in the iTunes USA chart and #9 in YouTube insights for USA. For overall sales in the US, AIWFCIY is at #20, which is pretty good. With it gaining on all metrics consistently throughout December, by Christmas we will have a top 10 peak this year. I can't wait to see that happen. (Tuesday 5 December 2017; 00:10)

Justin has been one shady b*tch towards a few of music's female legends. He throws Janet under the bus and blames her for nipplegate at the Superbowl (which we know changed the trajectory of her career forever). Despite Mariah reigning supreme for 10 solid years prior, he thinks after she has one bad year, he's too good for her, and of course we all know how he threw all of his and Britney's laundry on the public line, and blamed her for their break up. At that time, Justin didn't want to release/promote the song as a featuring guest because Mariah seemed not so "hip" after the Glitter thing. Oh "little" Justin was so wrong with this decision, not nice from him. So I understand while Mariah ruled the charts with TEOM again, she didn't feel the need to release the version. Charmbracelet will always be a special album for me. The often mentioned lyrics are pure Mariah, they are so poetic. "Lullaby", "Yours", "I only wanted", "Clown" and "Bringin' on the heartbreak" are my favorites. And I love the message of "Trough the rain". (Monday 4 December 2017; 20:32)

I remember on first listen getting about two thirds through the album and getting very hacked off. That had never happened previously (or since). As the years have dragged by, I now appreciate it on a different level. Lyrically it is up there with Butterfly. It’s got some duds like Boy and some filler, but on the main it’s a good cohesive body of work. (Monday 4 December 2017; 20:26)

The One, I Only Wanted, My Saving Grace, Lullaby, You Had Your Chance, Subtle Invitation, Clown, and Sunflowers are some of her best songs. Your story is similar to my friend Patty's. I've noticed that many yo-yo dieters, at the end of their rope, tend to go for weight loss surgery as a final resort. Weight loss is mentally challenging for anyone but I also think there's a portion of people where it's extra hard and they need the extra help. Watching all of these weight loss surgeries over the years it always seems like there's a lot of emotion and psychology underlying it all. (Monday 4 December 2017; 14:58)

She also started caring for her instrument more and it showed. If I'm not mistaken the term "lamb" was coined in this era for her cult following. Charmbracelet at 15 (79,631) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines As grating as her whispery vocal delivery may be here at times, I will still have a special place in my heart for Charmbracelet because it was the first Mariah album I ever owned (in cassette back then). Unlike most of the world, Through The Rain was a massive hit here in the Philippines - it was like Hero for the 2000s and it was sung in every Sunday noontime variety show as well as all the popular local singing contests. Such success even spilled over to Boy (I Need You), which was also a sizeable hit in our country at the time. Even I Only Wanted got more airplay than Bringin' on the Heartbreak. Some songs on Charmbracelet are always gonna make me hit "repeat". TTR is still uplifting. Boy (INY) reminds us of a time when Mariah still was imaginative with her videos. Yours features perhaps Mariah's most meandering melody. IOW is still the perfect third chapter to her Latin-tinged saga of longing (My All and After Tonight, parts 1 and 2 respectively). Something about You Had Your Chance's melodic hook will always sound Cantopop-inspired to me. Lullaby is the sequel to The Roof, but sonically is the yin to that song's yang. Subtle Invitation is probably one of the classiest Mariah has ever sounded, even when she lets loose towards the end. Bonus track There Goes My Heart has a sweet, tropical vibe that Mariah has yet to employ again in any of her recordings since. And outtake Miss You never fails to get me going with its complicated chorus. A lot of people can be quite dismissive of the album. As a package, Charmbracelet is the amalgam of whatever Mariah wanted to get out of her system post-Glitter, that has primed her for one of the most impressive comebacks in pop music history. That's something you 100% made up in your mind. I know exactly what Mariah did last year professionally and that still doesn't refute the fact that she also spent 2016 doing a lot of vacationing (not that my post was knocking her for that, anyway) or that every year she goes on vacation and if she were so in a hurry to see the world would dedicate some of those trips to it regardless of their so-called people oriented occupation. Mariah as a private person is a laugh as of three years ago. If she were seeing the world privately it would make zero sense for her to say that she hasn't seen the world due to work. A man or woman saying that they haven't seen the world due to work obligations is not a run of the mill quote or blurb. (Monday 4 December 2017; 05:42)
