Re: Article: Will Ferrell hints at Mariah's diva antics on set (76,515) (76,518) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You act like the other movies were blockbusters because of Mariah's role? And I'm sorry but this I exactly the attitude that Mariah should not have that "who cares it's just a cameo". Of course she cared enough to sign on to it and of course it's unprofessional to not do her part of the deal. Whether the movie flops or not is not an issue here at all. It's the work ethic. Next fan excuse will be "who cares, it's just a concert" when she refuses to sing at a future concert. "Who cares it's just a studio album" when she refuses to record new songs for an album.

From cutting room floor to possible blooper reel on DVD extras. Wow Mariah, you've made it. What a waste of time and joke. Again, why even bother? This is not, "Might as well if you got a little extra time" or things of that nature. Complete mess as a matter-o-fact. This is not the standard.

It actually makes me sad to see this post. Of all the people on this board you're one of the ones who's always defended her wrong or right. If you're having these feelings then something is definitely wrong and these are the type of messages that Mariah needs to see to maybe motivate her to do better. On a positive note I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

People are getting worked up over a cameo? Really. The movie gonna flop anyways. If Will has done his homework, he would know that a lot of the movies that she was in ended up as blockbusters.

Re: Article: Will Ferrell hints at Mariah's diva antics on set (76,509) (76,514) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I hope this shows Mariah that she should be more professional. Also Stella is at fault because how did Mariah not know what was expected of her from this cameo before signing the deal? So she makes a commitment to do something in exchange of money and then goes and says she won't deliver her part? Like I said before, it's understandable for her not to be shot dead but why did she agree to it in the first place? Why not suggest these in advance? Then she apparently said she won't sing the song, um what? Like that's your day job. This isn't a random co-star like the previous one, this is Will Ferrell, Mariah's friend and he wouldn't have said it if he wasn't upset about this. What will Stella debunk this story with? "Will is a relic who is using Mariah's name to stay relevant"?

Simply put Celine owns herself; her age, where she is in life and her legacy. IMO I get the sense Ms. Carey feels robbed of her youth since in her mind she was never young.

It seems like she thinks she can do whatever she wants, why? Because she's a self proclaimed best selling female artist of all time? Sigh, she's a turn off nowadays and probably in the industry as well. I hope she seeks help whatever she's dealing with that causes this behaviors. Like you're a mother now, what will you tell your kids if they browse these news on the net?

Damn, and Will Ferrell is Mariah's friend. This is embarrassing. People used to praise working with Mariah as being so "focused and extremely professional", and now she's getting cut from her own friend's film, doing a simple cameo no less. This makes me so disappointing because so few people want to work with her since American Idol.

Re: Mark Suddack (76,501) (76,510) by Lila from United States
From what I've read, he worked on E=MC2 so it's not particularly surprising or interesting that he was still around at that point. On a personal level they were broken up and had been for a while. Mariah married Nick at the end of April but they had been seeing one another for a month to a month and a half before they married. So, Mark may have been in the picture technically but not as anything meaningful.

And now Will Ferrell too? Who actually attended her Vegas show. Stella might or might not involved how things went in there but everything will always comes down to Mariah. Mariah really keeps pushing the limits.

Celine / mixed feelings about Mariah (76,508) by Will from England
So, I went to see Celine's show at the O2 yesterday. And it was fantastic. And what I saw on stage, should have been what Mariah should be doing now. Confident in herself to sing live and seamlessly lip sync when needed, commanding the stage by herself and interacting with the audience with ease, funny about herself and funny in general, she made you feel comfortable watching her, with no backing dancers and had a mini orchestra to boot. Best of all, there were screens so you could actually see her. All the focus was on Celine and what made her who she is: her voice. There was no "do you know this one?" or "I'm not sure if you know this". Everything that Celine brought to that stage, Mariah should be capable of bringing herself now in any setting. To walk in and let them know who they've paid to come and see without any doubt. But reflecting on the brilliant performance of last night, to the last Mariah crash and burn, made me feel so sad for Mariah because it's sad that Mariah is not where close to where Celine is performing wise now, even though she writes the songs and has few-and-far good days with her voice. It made me sad and frustrated because the woman with God-given voice, is no longer there and last night did make me feel a bit disenchanted with Mariah Carey the singer. All the stupidity surrounding her with the reality show, feuds, that Tanaka guy etc. is just needless and making her so much less than what she should be: a legend. Last night, I saw a legend who owned it in every sense of the word. Mariah was good, but she was a 46 year old woman trying to be 30. It's bad when she had more dignity, elegance, mystery and class at 20 than she does near 50.

Non movie cameo (76,507) by CMC from NY,NY
Ever since that shoulder injury Mariah has derailed and never really picked herself back up. Why on earth would she go on a movie set doing the things they're saying, holding up people for hours, making demands especially when it's actually an honor they even ask or think of her to be in a movie at this point. Let's be honest, after the disastrous New Years Eve performance earlier this year is a shock to me she's still getting considered for these things. This could have helped her, instead after her behavior it's the opposite and you can bet she won't be the first "diva" in line should these opportunities come up again. Maybe I'm wrong, and a cameo in a blockbuster movie isn't as important for her career as a crappy cosmetic line. Oh and the photos for this cosmetic campaign, she's at her heaviest weight, what is going on? I'm truly worried for her and it saddens me so much this is where she is at in her career. I feel like she's crying out for help from whatever she is going through, that's really the only explanation for all this bizarre behavior. Stella is pure greed and a bottom feeder. She's hungry for fame and a horrible person. She knows what she's doing and the truth hurts. When I commmented on one of her photos of her and Mariah dressed like twins she blocked me when I commented "uh you're thirsty, uh you're thirsty #singlewhitefemalestatus". She knows people see through her empowering women antics and it's all gonna crash down around her. I hope Mariah is well when I see her in Vegas next month.

Re: Mariah's voice was fab in Vegas, but... (76,495) (76,506) by Bill from the UK
I doubt I'm right, but you have to think about the devices most of these ad hoc concerts are recorded on. I went on holiday and recorded songs an Elvis impersonator was singing. In the flesh, he sounded fine, but when I played back the video on my phone, every inconsistency and duff note rang out as clear as a bell. Of course his sound set up isn't a professional one like Mariah's would be, but still. Maybe smartphones don't pick up reverb or whatever else the sound system peppers the vocals with. Not making excuses though, Mariah's vocal abilities have noticeably diminished over the years, which isn't unfair of me to say.

RJJ12 Bryson (76,505) by Haiji Toro from USA
At first when I read your comment, I thought, "what is he talking about with some people not knowing who Bryson is" lol, but then I realized not everyone may be into music like I am, or even others. Although the majority of R&B music nowadays is trash and just remakes of the 90's, songs like "Don't" are those that still give hope for good songs in these times. I still wouldn't ever replace R&B from the 90's though. I tend to binge that era on YouTube for hours. Just yesterday, I rediscovered old favorites, like Mya "It's All About Me", Dru Hill "We're Not Making Love", Tracie Spencer "Tender Kisses", and many other artists like Xscape, Tamia, Vivian Green, Shai, well you get the point (if I were to sit here and type them, I'd be here forever lol).

Re: MC and Carlos Santana (76,475) (76,504) by Haiji Toro from USA
RJJ12, Yes, I did see the Spanish version of that commercial. I always wondered why they never worked together in the studio. My only problem with her singing in Spanish is her pronunciation. I remember being so disappointed with "MI Todo (My All)" because some of the lyrics sounded so off and didn't make sense. Then afterwards I found out that the person who wrote the interpretation, didn't teach her the correct way to pronounce the words. I'd love to hear a new song with Carlos but her singing in English and maybe some Spanish ad-libs. I love Toni's The Heat album, especially "Stupid". I believe that song was featured in the movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman. The Heat, to me, was very underrated. "Maybe" was and still is my favorite on that album. A lot of great and sad memories. Have you ever heard "Not a Chance"? That one was leaked as a leftover song from her album Pulse, another great album. Such an amazing song, lyrically and vocally.

Re: Being controlled by a sociopath? (76,496) (76,503) by Tijl from Belgium
Honestly you might not be far from the truth. Mariah is a very emotional and fragile human being which makes her the perfect victim for leeches and sociopaths to crave on her energy, her connections and her wealth. Personally I do not think she is a narcissist herself be what is called a "codependent" personality. A psychological term that reffers to people who get easily attracted by narcissists and sociopaths. Codependents are often creative and emotional people but suffer from low self-esteem and often feel unworthy in comparison to others. Early on in her career Mariah stated that as a child "being famous" would validate her existence. Add the very tumultuous childhood as a biracial child in the '70s combined with her insecurities as a young woman and the bigger picture falls into place. Her biggest challenge is to stand up to these vampiric creatures but unfortunately she is blinded by their typical demeanour of pretending to be confidants and protectors. Sociopaths do not care for anybody but themselves and will isolate their victims from their natural surroundings and friends or family. (Bye bye to the old team and let's move to LA? Anybody.) They will further nurture the insecurities of the victim so eventually that person will give over and become completely depended on the sociopath. The end result is horrifying as the victim will be squeezed from all purity and energy until completely drained and left behind. Mariah is at a very dangerous stage in her life from which a return is almost impossible because she will not allow anything bad being said about Stella. This further distances her from anybody who wants to save her.
For anybody questioning my rather extensive reply. Trust me. I am not making anything up. I have unfortunately been in a relationship with a sociopath and decided to leave on time. But the damage takes a long time to heal. I really hope Mariah can escape from this. Tommy might have been too controlling but Stella is utterly demonic.

Re: Being controlled by a sociopath? (76,496) (76,502) by Lila from United States
Personally, I think not. Stella's an uncouth idiot that thinks being rude will get her what she wants (like that guy she cursed out over at DCP because they wouldn't pull the footage from the west coast) and she also goes a long with the stupid crap that Mariah wants done and throws out some dumb ideas her own self, I'm sure but that's about it. She doesn't strike me as the Rasputin type nor does she strike me as smart enough or charismatic enough to pull something like that off. In my eyes she's just another dumbass and right now that's what Mariah wants to be surrounded with. They really just remind me of two children who've been left to steer a car.

What I was trying to say is that in early April 2008 when she started promoting E=MC2 he was still in the picture. At the end of the month she was married to Nick.

Re: Mariah's voice was fab in Vegas, but... (76,495) (76,499) by Edouard from France
Hi Sheila. She's never done that before because she's been told that she should never carry a bag. Didn't look good on her according to "them". You know who "them" are. Regarding her Vegas shows I think that when you are used to a place, you know how to work the stage, you know how the place sounds in terms of echo, feedback, etc. Vegas is indoors and the sound never changes. As a singer it is very important to be able to hear yourself and with time you know how and when your voice sounds the best. It's kind of like a sound choreography. Hope I'm making sense here. Peace out.

Will Ferrell hints at Mariah's diva antics on set (76,498) by Licia from USA
Now this is this kind of stuff that Stella and Gossip Cop need to speak on. Now two stars in this movie (one being a leading cast member) have said the same thing. This is not cool. Smh.

Re: Mariah's voice was fab in Vegas, but... (76,495) (76,497) by darrian liu from taiwan
Confidence contributes a lot in performances. In Vegas she was surrounded with an almost-exclusively lamb audience. In televised settings, or in settings like Glock, Jamaica Jazz, etc, the audience is quite different, hence her nerves will be kicked up a notch. That's actually a sign that she's not confident in her voice and her technique in general, which is why it's a good idea for her to take some time off and intensively train her voice with a really really good vocal instructor, so that her vocal health can rebound and that her technique will be back at a point where she can count on her voice reliably.

Being controlled by a sociopath? (76,496) by bliss! from Brazil
Dear lambs. I was reading about MC Guru's death (I know, it's been a while) and ended up finding a lot of articles saying Guru was being heavily manipulated during his final years by his manager Solar. The guy was controlling his emails and even wrote a "letter from the grave" on Guru's behalf. If that was not enough, Solar didn’t let Guru's family visit him when he was in a coma. I don't want to create theories or anything, but do you think it's possible that Mariah – in a fragile moment like Guru was in his final years as a recovering alcoholic – is being manipulated by Stella on the same level? These thoughts give me goosebumps.

Mariah's voice was fab in Vegas, but... (76,495) by Sheila from United States
I'm not totally sure what happens when she leaves Vegas or if it's her sound people and her team but she sounds harsh in these "spot" dates. Why does she sound so beautiful on that Vegas stage but a hot mess other times. If the public at large saw what we saw in Vegas the public would embrace her again. Sidebar: Why is she carrying her purse like Stella? She's never done that before. It's so strange.

That's not true because there were moments in 2008 where she wasn't at her best vocally and she was really skinny. So what's the excuse for those moments?
