Re: New album ideas (80,458) (80,460) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Or how about just simply "Mariah"?

Maturity and growth. She showed that on The Emancipation Of Mimi as a person and artist. I would love if she goes back to Long Island and record her album there. Maybe she will get inspired by the days before fame. Back to basics is a great starting theme. I'm longing for an era focused on music without the boyfriends and the sexy kitten image.

Mimi could be a title?

Re: Stella is back or is Stella back? (80,455) (80,457) by Butterfly from
Saddened but not shocked. We all knew the old Mariah was not fully back. The Emancipation of Mimi girl would never lower herself by wearing an ex's ring or consider fake relationships. That girl was focused on music and was very private. There's nothing wrong with being single. Grow up and stop the fakery.

The Daily Mail (80,456) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This specific tabloid posts things about MC no matter what the situation is so I do not know why anyone is acting surprised. Stella and company are definitely not apart of Team MC anymore I can tell you Roc Nation nor people like Steven Hill would deal with Stella and they definitely would not invest in MC with Stella and the circus around. Now as far as an album title it should be something playing off of that says refreshed, renewed, restored or a new beginning.

There or not, Stella was just a symptom of the actual problem and that's Mariah. Seems there was a cool down period and now she's starting back up with the nonsense. I was hopeful but with the remnants of stupid left behind, I should've known not be too hopeful. Let's just hope this isn't leading too far back down the rabbit hole as she took us the past few years.

New album ideas (80,454) by Jeff from USA
I would love a simple album title, perhaps something that harkens back to her resounding themes of emancipation, freedom, and the ever-present butterflies.

Re: New album title ideas (80,444) (80,452) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
It's best to go with a simple title this time, especially after TEOM, MOAIA and the still unbelievably and ridiculously obnoxious MIAMTEC, I'm not sure the public would be able to handle another verbose title. Maybe go with just "Back" or something more personal like "Ms. Carey" or "Mirage", or since Mariah loves a vocabulary lesson then maybe "Scintillate" or "Chrysalis" (doubtful, though, since Butterfly already exists). Or perhaps try a foreign phrase, such as "Jamais Vu" or "Presque Vu" (two fascinating phenomena) as "Deja Vu" has been used by more artists such as Giorgio Moroder. Just try to keep it short. And make the music great of course.

Stella is back or is Stella back? (80,451) by RibbonB from USA
Back to lawsuits and daily TMZ and Daily Mail "publicity" of dinner outings. For potential album titles she could use Me Too, or Times Up, snce They Said There Would Be Tea has already been used on her lesser merchandise.

I think Christina Aguilera had an album named Lotus, I doubt she'll use the same name. But I want her to use a short title.

Re: New album title ideas (80,444) (80,449) by B from USA
Mariah should schedule writing and production sessions with Miguel and HappynPerez. #Beauful seamlessly updated and Edgar Ramir signature and was her last hit single. Mariah should also work with Bruno Mars and The Smeezington's. When In Was Your Man is the male version of We Belong Togeter. I'd also suggest Ed Sheeran. I also think she should work with Babyface, Diane Warren, and David Forster. I would love to hear Mariah sing ala Emotions over a Calvin Harris beat or a David Morales beat. If she followed this blueprint and released big budget videos and went on a nonstop promotional tour including visiting every Pop and R&B radio station and doing interviews while being humble, self deprecating, and passionate about her music while looking amazing in high end fashions she could (can) easily score another comeback. I also hope she works with The Weekend. I think she should call her next studio album either M3, Mimi's Vidication, or Mariah.

Re: New album title ideas (80,444) (80,448) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Marissa, Christina A. already had Lotus. Instead, since we are trying to match The Beatles, she might call the album simply "Mariah Carrey". The background of the cover picture should be white or red. Then we will call the debut album - the Black Album, and the new album - The White/The red album.

Re: New album title ideas (80,444) (80,446) by Edward from USA
She could be so creative with the next album title. She could dedicate it to her cougaree Tanaka and name it: "The Asian Persuasion" or "The Lotus... Not from Aguilera" or "I Don't Know Her". She could also go back to her gender neutral album names and call it: "Ribbon", "The Ring", "Tea", "Gown" or "My Humps". I know for sure there's going to be a song called "Shrek" in the new album.

The Return , with this she could give us a mixed bag of old flavor mixed in with her genius musical ear to what still can be current.

New album title ideas (80,444) by Marissa from USA
Since we're on the topic of a new album, what would you like her to name it? I've heard "The Vindication of Mimi" from several people but I think it's too cheesy and too obvious of a play on TEOM. I'm thinking something like "The Lotus" which represents a flower that emerges from a dirty, muddy environment and rises to the surface unscathed.

I'm for a 12-songs album too. As most of you said, quality instead of quantity.

Re: New album (80,440) (80,442) by T from USA
Also it means she doesn't have to delay the album a whole year for just three more songs. Can you imagine how thight MIAM would've been as 12 tracks and released right after American Idol? Sure we wouldn't have gotten "Money", "One More Try" or "Heavenly" but the album as a whole would've been better and sold better.

Re: New album (80,438) (80,440) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Truth. Most of Mariah's best critically received albums (debut, Daydream and Butterfly) consisted of 12 tracks each. But these were really tight, strong and little-to-no-filler albums. These days, we observe the increasing practice of going back to this trend of brief releases. Most 15+ track albums that we've seen since the 2000s are usually overblown albums that include a lot of tacked on filler to make the consumers think that they're getting more of their money's worth somehow, as if quantity is necessarily equal to quality, when really all this marketing tactic does is just highlight the disparity between an album's strengths and weaknesses. Mariah should go into making an album with a clear idea of what she wants it to sound and a target number of tracks. This not only ensures brevity and cohesiveness but also helps her be focused enough to cut the weaker songs, ultimately resulting in a stronger set of tracks.

For me personally, I see the humor in the shirts, it's just not something I would wear. For people that would, that's cool. I think sometimes things get labelled "hate" but it'd not really hate it is a matter of preference. If it floats your boat, do it. I'd buy the mug on the "tea" shirt if it was available.

I agree. Albums like CB and Memoirs need an entire afternoon set aside to listen and appreciate them end to end. I'm all for the 10-12 track albums.

So nice to hear how so many of us lambs loved a voice and music so different from Mariah's. The Cranberries were a huge part of my childhood. Rest in peace Dolores.

She was definitely another part of my growing up in the 90's as my alternative to Mariah. Zombie and Linger bring back so many memories, such a memorable voice. Very sad indeed.
