Re: EMC stripped versions of MC songs (78,514) (78,546) by Lee from UK
A stipped version of One Sweet Day was recently posted without all of the backing vocals and it actually sounds more current. I am noticing more runs from both Mariah and Wanya which I never heard previously due them being drowned out. Their voices work so well together.

Where can I find? (78,545) by Edouard from France
The video from Hip Hop Honors? I can't seem to find the Honey remix video in full. Please help.

Bodak Yellow (78,544) by RibbonB from USA
Congrats to Cardi B for taking over the Billboard number one with Bodak Yellow. She took "I don't know her" to a whole new level of petty.

Other things Mariah did for money? Hmm toughy. Going to have to go with "Marry Tommy". Closely followed by "Divorce Tommy".

Agreed. I'd add MIAMTEC to the list. It is an excellent fall album.

That wasn’t a solo track was it?

She's still doing the Beacon dates. Isn't she?

Fancy by Iggy was the last rap song by a female to hit #1 on the Hot 100.

Eric, shame on you. Mariah is going to correct all that with her new reality show and her new line of shoes called "Stellatos".

Re: Beacon (78,526) (78,535) by Edward from USA
I agree. I've been to her shows at The Beacon Theater, and it felt like the Charmbracelet tour, intimate. The venue in Las Vegas would definitely bring her more money. She's clearly after money now, I don't understand the desperation though. I know making an album wouldn't really bring her any money because she's not popular like that anymore, but I always thought of Mariah as an artist with integrity, not a sell out. Before we would have time to miss her, now she's everywhere and in everything as if she didn't have a dime. If she at least carried Hershel differently, but I'm always hoping not to see her singing "Shake If Off" while working out on high heels on the treadmill. How could you go from being a supreme icon to this? I've often wondered.

How could I forget the two highlights of Mariah's career: American Idol and Mariah's World.

That awful diabetes inducing Butterfly drink she was flogging at Walgreens too.

Since Lauryn Hill (78,532) by Terna from Nigeria
Cardi B just dethroned Taylor Swift. This is a big deal. The last female rapper to sit on the Billboard Hot 100 was Lauryn Hill in 1998. Damn. Social media is on fire right now. Lol.

The money was the first thing I thought, but I didn't want to be the bad guy and say it. I'm trying to be a better lamb. Lol.

I forgot about the dictator concerts, but if you google it, it comes up in the news. Does she really need this money? She's worth 500 million.

Re: Beacon (78,528) (78,529) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
You really want to know what Mariah would do for money? I don't remember all the side projects, because I'm only interested in Mariah the singer, but here it goes: private concerts for dictators, shoes, jewelry, make-up, perfumes, water, wodka, soda, candy, children books, (animated) movies. Feel free to complete the list if you can think of other things Mariah did for money.

Re: Memoirs (78,521) (78,527) by Mara from United States
Billy you are so right about Memoirs being a great "fall album". There is something about BGK and HATEU, those ethereal whistles in Angels Prelude, Languishing. I love that album. Butterfly is another great fall album. Those were the days MC always released her singles in the summer and her albums dropped in the fall. It was such a perfect formula.

Re: Beacon (78,525) (78,526) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
We all know that Mariah would do anything for money, so I guess Christmas in Vegas earns her more money than Christmas in New York.

Re: Beacon (78,520) (78,525) by Licia from USA
I'm curious about the reasoning behind moving the show from NYC/The Beacon to Vegas. I have nothing against Vegas, but Christmas in New York is sort of her thing.

Forgotten jams (78,524) by Jeff from USA
We all have our faves, but I was wondering if there is anyone out there like me that "re-discovers" a song that sweeps you up in the moment and goes on repeat for a day or so. I had that experience this morning with "Stay the Night". I've been jamming to it for hours.

Re: Beacon is always festive, but Vegas? (78,523) by Sheila from United States
Not sure this is a good idea, the Beacon is full of lambs, new fans, old fans, shopping tourists, just a packed house. Vegas is not really festive at holiday time, who goes to Vegas at holiday time?

Re: EMC stripped versions of MC songs (78,513) (78,522) by May from Denmark
I also came across it a couple of days ago, I was going to comment on it too and I think it's amazing. This one video in particular got me to listen to the entire Butterfly album again, aside the from the 20 years celebratory moment. Babydoll is such a sweet song but with the time I completely lost interest, really hadn't listened to it entirely for about a year. It was one of those forgotten songs that I didn't feel like returning to. I heard this version and I thought how incredible Mariah voice was when it came to runs. Love the whole thing. I already listened to it a fair amount of times. So nice to go back to an oldie and enjoy it as much as the first time.
