Is it time? (78,499) by Edward from USA
I was reading some of the comments here and the logic behind them. Some very well thought out comments state that since Mariah is nearly 50 she should get "I don't want to move my ass two steps because I'm drunk" pass. According to that logic Madonna should be drag on wheelchair on stage then since she's nearly 60. Mariah is a millionaire, if she has decided to be stiff and not give two f's about performing, I think it is time for her to invest in her very own decorated hovearound. Yes, she needs an electric chair she could move around on stage saying two and a half darhlings here and there, since she's too old, two complete utterances of the word dahling might be taxing on her joints and vocal chords. I think Mariah should produce and write for other people, her career has turned into a joke. I remember when being her fan was something to be proud of. I'm a fan, but I don't dare saying it in public. Those days of being a proud fan are long gone.

I'll take the five dancers over that embarrassing, awkward, and plain stupid twirl.

Lol he did his job of being a mucker upper very well on NYE. It was hilarious to see him smiling and doing his wack dance steps while Mimi flopped and fizzled right in front of our eyes. He slithered his way in by being a sycophant. At least now we no longer have five men hefting her up by holding her butt, or even on that couch anymore. Now there is just him hefting up her whole thigh for the epic diva twirl.

Re: Hero music video (78,474) (78,491) by Bill from the UK
Mariah did indeed move during the Hero video, and what a great timeless video it was. She was swaying in time with the rhythm of the song, she made big swooping hand gestures to drive home the emotion and the lyrics, she threw her head back at the crescendo, it was probably as choreographed as any ballet, but it came off as natural and confident and elegant. She was able to walk up to the microphone unaided and gave her beautiful, graceful performance. All her ballad performances from the 90s followed the format and were a joy to watch. They emphasised her incredible vocal talents and didn't detract from the song but also gave some flair and flourishes where necessary. You cannot compare that horrific Honey performance to the Hero video, end of.

Some don't understand the job of a PR prop boyfriend. Telling the truth and getting the person help is not a part of the job description and is actually a hindrance to their 15 minutes of non fame.

Lol as if Tanaka is going to tell her the truth. He's in it for the money and fame. Have you seen the comments he liked on ig? It's a epic performance and we should not ask for more effort.

Great post, yiorgos. I completely feel and think the same with everything you said. I can only imagine how hard it is for a sensitive person to stay in that business so long. The fame, the fake people, the high expectations because she's is the one and only Mariah Carey. Like you said I hope she finds happiness again and something new where she can live her creativity and talent. I'm very thankful for all she's given us since '90 as well. She almost feels like a "friend" that's why I care so much of her as a person not only the singer. And so many great singers and entertainers has fallen so hard, it's enough.

He should also watch the ILT performance for VH1. Where she wore that bright orange gown and how she owned the stage that night. She basically just strutted around but she owned it. That performance was amazing and full of energy.

There, there Andrew dahlin', it'll be alright. Side note, I get your frustration but I gave up investing my energy over these messes.

I love the song and the video of "Just be good to me". Mariah looked so cool with the hat and the casual outfit. So sweet when she does the little moves. It is just authentic, and that's what I miss the most lately. But Bryan really seems to be the closest for the moment, but if that is helpful? We'll see.

Re: Hero music video (78,474) (78,484) by MusicfanJ from Germany
That's the Mariah I've always loved. She never needed a show. Standing there with her beauty and gorgous aura with the voice of an angel was more than enough. I remember when Britney came out as a teen star. I thought, poor girl she needs to dance all the time because she can't sing. Lol. A lot of entertainers need a big show and it's ok and can be fun. But Mariah was a wonder just to look at her and her the beautiful voice. I've seen her live on tour three times, and the moments where it was quiet and she was just "standing there" were the best. She needs a magic back, her MC style and most of all her confidence. She was always shy, but she rocked so many times with it.

Bryan doesn't push Mariah enough? You mean across the stage? Mariah is a [censored] [censored] [censored] beast of a woman the like of which has never gone before her in the position she is in. She is unique. The only globally best selling artist and icon who actively is pathetic in everything that she does in recent memory. She is, without question, a singer who can no longer sing, and a performer who can no longer perform. Judging by her recent efforts, she is a writer who can no longer write. And no, I won't just give it up and crawl away, I invested much of my life and a shit load of money in her. I'm going to cry about it until the cows come home. I speak for many people who are fed the [censored] up with how [censored] she is and how offensive she is. "I love my fans." No you don't. Mariah, you love money. You never really finished the Moët, did you?

Re: Mamariah (78,470) (78,481) by yiorgos from Germany , Berlin
I agree so much. I mean for sure many things are going wrong lately and even her she doesn't really seem to be good and happy. I don't say be delusional but we should know better than the haters how insecure and fragile Mariah is and judging her and putting all those expectation on her makes us part of the problem. Many things should be different but we can't know all the reasons that things are how they are. It's really easy for us to say fire Stella or this or that but we don't live her life and we don't know her reasons. I get disappointed sure but I prefer to stay supportive to her because she has already given us more than anyone would expect all those years, and I am thankful for that. Sure I hope she will be at her best soon (and she has proven she can rise from her ashes) but until then I hope for the best and still support her and love her hopping that she knows she will always have the lambily to count on. She has been through a lot since an early age and the last years again. She has some superhuman abilities but she is still a human and we should give her a break even when it's sad and disappointing and even embarrassing, being on the spotlight for all those years is not easy. I hope she can go and use her talent in songwriting and creativity to heal her self. But with all that pressure on her for another hit and to prove she is still Mariah I don't think will be easy.

VH1 Hip Hop Honors (78,479) by darrian liu from taiwan
If this was any other artists, I would say that it wasn't too bad of a performance. But this is Mariah we're talking about. She lost her touch already. Vocals were decent, but she could do better. Pretty much there's nothing really standing out in that performance. She just has no motivation to perform anymore. Let's just wait for her next album and pray that it's not gonna be half-assed.

We should bombard Tanaka with this SOS video so he can see what she's capable of.

Re: Is Queen Mariah ready to retire? (78,454) (78,477) by jaker20 from US
She can just produce newcomers or mentor young artists, rappers etc. What happened to that new record label? She also got a yuletide movie. She's got millions, so she should do more of those. She will find new and real inspiration while supporting young artists, and/or making movies. That will spark new ideas for her. I always thought MC is a pop genius but she needs to be really inspired. Right now she's stuck. She needs to step away from performing these old songs, she can't hit the notes and sounds awful. Her image is so bad now. She reminds me of Bruce Jenner, one of the greatest athletes ever. Younger people don't know Bruce, but they know Caitlyn. That will be Mariah's direction if she's not careful. Once legendary, now a joke. BTW I just saw Cher on a Gap commercial singing Everyday People with Future. Cher is 71, doesn't dance, but performed at this summer's Billboard Awards because she put an effort. Fans and the media loved it. Far from perfect vocals but it was live. Mariah doesn't need to retire, she just need to refocus her efforts. But what do I know?

Stop crying (78,476) by Ryan from USA
We are good at attacking and critiquing Mariah because she doesn't live up to what we individually think the expectation is that we created but when we are all having a bad day we are quick to turn her music on to make us feel better. Find your proprieties people.

I'm not sure who you are referring to here, but just in case it was me, I'll take a stab at it and say I simply mentioned Tanaka in reference to whipping her into shape. Right now, he seems to be the closest to her and he is physically fit along with being a dancer. Therefore, it's natural to wonder or make him the go to inspiration or get her into wanting to get into shape. We have seen it before with Mariah, that the people around her often rub off and or influence her. That was all I meant by my comment. If you read my post, I was actually thinking of other things that can possibly going on with someone who is human like the rest of us but just so happens to be a legendary diva at the same time.
