Article: X Factor bosses in secret talks with Mariah Carey (75,212) by Malcolm from Asia
This can be great. This can be the time to prove that she is also a good judge and her stint in American Idol was just full of drama and conflicts. Given the fact that she is friends with Sharon and have a huge respect for Simon I guess, she can have a good time with the panel if this is true.

Mariah and plastic surgery (75,211) by Mara from United States
I can't believe how open Mariah has been since living in LA about seeing a plastic surgeon. I really don't think there is anything wrong with a few fixes here or there, as I'm sure in that business it is expected, but I think she really has changed and followed the (I hate to say it) fake plastic lifestyle of living in LA. God how I miss seeing pics of her on the streets of NYC. Come back Mariah please *singing in my best We Belong Together melody*. But back to the cosmetic center, we know Stella is good friends with this doctor and I think he was at M's Halloween Party. He also of course works with the Kartrashians, Stella's template for all things. Gone are the days M would be discreet on any work she may have had. I wish M would get healthy in the form of eating better and maybe some exercise. I think it would do her better than the quick fixes, so I do agree with Andrew on that. I know that is easier than said and done and it takes commitment but she has done it before and we have seen the results of that.

Re: How 650 million can get messed up (75,201) (75,210) by Mara from United States
I agree and am always worried about that in the back of my mind. People seem to forget that people are worth what their estate and assets are valued at. In Mariah's case it's all combined but may not be what she is actually working with unless she sold some things. What worries me currently is how Stella is currently living like "she is Mariah Carey" or that she is "on Mariah's level of wealth, status, celebrity". I'm sorry but yes, she manages a incredibly wealthy, famous, legendary star. However, she is just that - a manager. And I don't care who you manage, the kind of money she is flaunting is a bit of a red flag sort of thing. Really makes you wonder how she can afford a Maybach and a G-Wagon (I suppose you can lease them) and the expensive bags she carries. I noticed the other girl that she is always with too driving what looked like a black version of what Nick drives. Funny how we know Mariah won't even drive these cars, so Stella bought them for Stella. Don't forget to call TMZ to film this front. I remember MC Hammer being swindled out of millions by family managing his money, so it does happen all the time. Unless The Russian reality star got some kind of advance or large sum in forming the business or the Christmas movie with Mariah. I just hope Mariah's eyes are open.

Re: Possible TM and MC reunion (75,194) (75,209) by B from USA
Sony fired Tommy. Read Vanity Fairs profile on him before Mariah divorced him. He schemed to get where he got, he stabbed his mentor in the back to become the figure head of Sony. He's one of the most hated men in the industry and that had nothing to do with Mariah and their issues. Why do you think he was heading another big label after all that success? He screwed Sony over by sabotaging Glitter which was the catalyst for Mariah's exit and even though they let Mariah out of her contract they retained the rights to selling Glitter in Japan. Lets not forget to mention Sony is a Japanesse company and Mariah is beloved there. Why do you think Packer dragged her to his business meeting there while they were together and once their relationship was over his employees were detained (read Vanity Fairs profile on Packer)? Sylvia is considered the front-runner. Tommy had nothing to do with this. Mariah probably doesn't even care about the vanity label anyways so if that is the aspect of her deal that's at stake she probably doesn't care. She's too busy to be the head of a label anyeays. She's got to entertain the Russians with her antics.

Thankfully, she bought the rights to her back catalogue from Sony in 2005. She could live comfortably for the rest of her life off of those royalties alone.

So guys got married, first dance (75,207) by Anonymous from
May 3rd I married my best friend. Was a tough one as Marv and I both wanted to choose a song that reflected both of us. We have been best friends since the age of 16 and have many songs that have reflected our relationship. In the end I made most choices for Jamaica so he took the lead in songs. I know very random but it was "License to kill" - James Bond, concluded with Melt Away - Mariah. It wouldn't have been my choices but compromise is key and the best choices for our moment, although it took day to help realsoe [sic] it fitted perfectly. I always check in here to debate, bond, reflect and grow. Much love as always.

Hey Terna, I completely here [sic] what you are saying. As an avid Mariah fan myself I think we could both agree that over the last few years, they have been hard. I can also empathise with the notion of Mariah being the next target wound but let's face it, surely she can be accountable for her own choices and actions? Mariah has had numerous opportunities to turn things around, she has chosen to make poor choices based on potentially the people around her. Just a thought. Mariah I will always love, even though right now it seems as though she knows how to push it in the wrong direction.

Andrew my dear preach. As sad as it is, Mariah needs a makeover overhall, in all tence and purposes, pronto. Yes everyone should be themselves, but Mariah is turning into a Stella wannabe.

If Mariah can't be bothered to make good wholesome music then seeing Sharon and she working together could be a beautiful thing.

I don't think it would be a good idea. It doesn't make sense to go and do the very thing you claim was hell the first time around. I'd be surprised if she accepts this, but then again she said she'd never do a reality show and we all know how that went. Lol.

This is an interesting rumor. I think it would be cool for MC to live/work in the UK for a bit as long as Crustella and her coven stay in Calabasas. Lol. Mariah and Sharon get along well. If M. does something like this I hope she really comes with her A game, otherwise please don't.

Yeah, a lot of people rich and poor are naive about the value of money. Mariah could cut a lot of expenses just by cutting leeches and not maintaining so many properties that she rarely lives in or even visits. Sad that she never seems to even be in her glamorous NYC apartment anymore. I just hope she is ok and her financial legacy is in tact. MJ was so in debt at the end.

Exactly my concerns, something's off about how suddenly Epic is breaking down with talks of even shutting it down now she has a label tied to Sony/Epic and the one person who has years of experience of running labels, who could be of a great deal of help is suddenly truncated out. Someone somewhere is manipulating and pulling strings and I feel Carey's the target. It's no coincidence.

I'm still amazed at how so many people don't know the difference between paper rich, made up rich (my fave is worth $500M because Forbes said so ), and actual liquid cash and assets. Not to mention the many people that think that just because you're a millionaire or even a bilionaire, it's impossible to run out of money.

Re: How 650 million can get messed up (75,196) (75,197) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
People tend to think just because she is reportedly worth $500 million, that it's actually in liquid cash laying around for her to use. They forget it includes assets, her brand and a lot more. Plus they also forget that Mariah may earn more than the average people (well a heck lot more) but she also spends a lot more than the average people. I won't be even surprised at all if I hear Stella has been squirreling money away. In fact I will be surprised if she didn't. A woman who has basically removed everyone from her team (because they were leeches) only to replace it with a fresh batch of leeches from her old blood line is not to be trusted. It's only a matter of time before Sasha becomes the head of Butterfly MC records.

How 650 million can get messed up (75,196) by RibbonB from USA
Here is an article on the mishaps with Johnny Depp's fortune. It is a cautionary tale for any wealthy performer. People love to throw out 500 million for MC, but there is a lot involved with that and a lot of hands in the pot. I just hope this present team isn't robbing her blind, or mismanaging her funds. She had better "stay woke" and present in her own life and deals and don't leave it all entrusted in one shady family.

I can't imagine that Tommy will be involved somehow, but who knows? Is it official with Sylvia Rhone? I just googled her, and I like the results. I know everyone was always praising L.A. Reid, but I think a new team would be great for Mariah. And I hope she will feel comfortable again that she can let go the Russian Kadashians. Just dreaming.

Possible TM and MC reunion (75,194) by Stacey from USA
It might not be such a bad thing. All this talk about TM behind LA's departure from Epic is just that: speculation. I honestly think both ex's have grown up and moved on from that situation. Mariah isn't young and naive as she was during her time at Columbia records. In the end, I don't think Tommy is in any way associated with this mess at Epic. Mariah will put an album out later this year as she's said. If it tanks, I'd say she's in real trouble of losing her record deal.

More Sony shakeups / Epic ending? (75,193) by RibbonB from USA
Well what with the new Sony CEO there are rumors that he may even close Epic records. I doubt Mottola will be resurrected as a Sony executive, especially not as one involved in Mariah's career. Hopefully her little label creation has offered her some protection, or an out if things shake up so much at the label.

Ahhh, yes. I agree he would be great. He was once an artist himself. I just wonder if he would go that route considering he's been at the helm of such large labels.

Re: LA Reid replacement (75,189) (75,191) by B from USA
Sony fired Tommy. Tommy heads Casablanca Records and despite his ability to create stars he was unable to turn Lindsay Lohan into a singing star despite the fact that at the time she was already a movie star and could actually sing (sort like J.Lo except she could sing). He also failed to help his wife Thalia cross over. He didn't turn Celine into a star, Rene did. He helped Mariah but she put in the work and despite his sabotaging of the Glitter era she was able to make one of biggest comebacks in history. LA just suggested Mariah work with JD again (which was a no-brainer after 2004 he was once again the hottest producer on the planet, thanks to Usher's Confessions). Mariah needs to work with fresh producers and writers that aren't stuck in the mid 2000's.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey visits cosmetic surgery centre (75,183) (75,190) by B from USA
I doubt she'd alter her face, I know she had a nose job early in her career, but I don't see her wanting to look like Stella. I know she has insecurities but she is too vain to mess her face up like MJ. If she is considering surgery my money is on a breast lift or reduction and a tummy tuck. Her body isn't in bad shape but her breasts make her look top heavy. She's naturally tan and lean and althetic [sic] looking but since giving birth she looks like the weight of her breast are going to topple her over.

Re: LA Reid replacement (75,187) (75,189) by Mara from United States
Now if Tommy is the replacement for LA, how much control would he have on MC and the Butterfly label? Something is really off about all of this. Tommy coming out of the woodwork to publicly comment on Mariah after NYE lets you know he is still into the music scene and how "he thinks he could make it better". After the commotion his public comments made along with Stella's response, I noticed on Twitter, accounts solely with pics of MC and TM and pushing for them to reunite. People were thinking how Tommy made people stars and how he is the mastermind behind MC. Then we hear the news months later about MC releasing an album after she stated she wouldn't and she as focusing on singles. Next comes the label launch and the party. Funny how this happens right after the label launch party that was all her signature (pink yet lavender butterfly theme) and of course the picture with LA and Mariah. LA looked tired in the pic but we haven't seen a pic of the two of them for a while. Then this. Could any of it all be connected? What control would T have if he did take over LA's spot, on M's new label? Could LA go with MC on her new label? Either way, I am concerned for what it means for M.
