Re: Mariah loosing a lot of fans (75,520) (75,529)

It's funny how these "tonnes" of fans didn't also purchase the MIAM Album. And so if they're leaving, who cares? Mariah as sure as hell doesn't. Truth is they were never (all caps) real fans to begin with. And Mariah is still yet to disappoint musically, and until she does, I have absolutely no right to judge or even analyze her every move. Mariah has been in this business a long, long time and I believe in her and still trust her judgment. She's smart. Forget all that bickering and complaining about Stella. I personally don't have a problem with Stella. We're still yet to see her prove her worth by managing an album release, and era. And until then, I have absolutely nothing to complain about and so should some of you on this message board.

If Mariah doesn't want another flop album under her belt, releasing it soon won't be a good idea. She needs a major image overhaul. She needs a good marketing tactic, something Beyonce's team is really good at. She should take several notes on how Bey's team handles everything, from the visuals to the performances to the release of the album itself. Her last two album campaigns have been impeccable in execution. She also needs to back her reputation up with consistently good performances. If she wants to lip, lip away, but make sure to use new pre-recorded tracks instead rehashing the same old tired recordings from the 90's and 2005. If things go on the way it's going right now, her career would still decline rapidly.

Nick telling Mariah to leave her trashy tits in the face outfits behind is never going to happen. You should try Stella, so she can tell you to go f yourself. You see, Stella is just empowering Mariah to channel her inner slut.

Breakdown really shows how perfect rnb and hip-hop can melt together. This song is perfection. A very smooth Mariah. For me her lyrics were never better than on the Butterfly album. (Also Daydream and Charmbracelet come close to it.) But the songs need time, I remember when I was almost disappointed after Daydream. I have to be in the mood too (for enjoying Butterfly.) What I love about it, that it still sounds new from the production. And "Whenever you call" is one of my favorite ballads. When she sings: "You can turn to me and cry, always understand that I, give you all I am inside" I swear, it's so hard to hold back tears, after listening that part. Only MC can do that.

My problem isn't with the amount of skin Mariah is showing. I believe that a woman's self-respect is not determined by the amount of skin she is showing and I don't mind if she wants to show skin. But the problem is the style of clothing she chooses to wear is really unflattering and weird-looking. The new black top looks super weird and doesn't flatter her in any way possible. I'm being redundant but hands down Idol era Mariah was slaying in every single way possible, fashion-wise. Mariah needs to go back to that era.

But this isn't Mariah's song, it's a Busta single featuring Mariah. So the tour being postponed shouldn't have been an issue.

Crustella doesn't care of charity. You need to have class to do social things. All the fakeness is making me sick. When Mariah was at the camp in 95 or 96 she really touched my heart. She was so natural, humble and super sweet to the kids. You could tell it wasn't a show, it was real. I never saw a woman more adorable than her at that time. Mariah needs to go back to NY, I have a feeling that not only the circus is poison to her, also California is not her place. She should stay away from plastic/fake Hollywood. If the circus won't stop she is slowly but clearly destroying herself as an artist and more sadly as a person. Now it's not too late to change it. And something must change. Her lambily do more care of her than Crustella and Co. ever will.

Mariah loosing a lot of fans (75,520)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
From what I read around the Internet and talking to various people outside of the Internet it seems that Mariah is loosing tons of fans and at a rapid rate. If this continues she may not [have] very many left by next year. I think she should hurry and get that album out this year as she still has somewhat of a fan base and plus with Katy Perry flopping there is litterally no other female compitition on the horizon. This might be her best chance.

It was said the song was supposed to come out right before her tour with Lionel Ritchi [sic]. But once that got pushed back so did the song I guess. Maybe we'll hear it in August then.

I also think that promises were made from Doug Morris to LA Reid that once he steps down LA would take the reigns as top boss. But this business is so shady they say one thing and do another. To be fair Striger ran a way better Columbia than Reid did at Epic so the right man got the job. Then of course as to not look embarrased Sony leaks "stories" about sexual harrassment. But watch nothing will happen going forward.

by Lila from United States

I'd love to say no but E's shows don't get amazing viewership in the first place unlike hit shows on a network like ABC or CBS. I remember reading one article on Mariah's World ratings that also talked about Rob and Chyna's show ratings. I can't remember the exact figure either show got but they were in the same boat. It's just that you'd think that someone as big a star as Mariah would bring in big viewership. Also, I've done some reading and *throws myself on a bed dramatically* there's an article up on the network's website calling Kylie Jenner's new show, "Life of Kylie", a docuseries. Docuseries. Oh and it's going to be 8 episodes. Now, just where have we heard that before? Now we know why Mariah was viciously hanging onto calling that nonsense she gave us a docuseries. With Keeping Up with The Kardashians viewership dropping (not surprising as that show has been on the air for years), and the network's other shows not bringing in amazing viewership, I can't see E network wasting time and money on 8 episode docuseries instead of shows with some longevity. Kylie's show may be starting off at 8 episodes but it's doubtful there's not going to be no more after that. Which brings me to Mariah. I was wondering this before but now I'm wondering even more I f there was always going to be a second season. I know we all had our own thoughts on the matter but what if she was always contractually obligated to do more than those 8 docuseries episodes? It would explain why even though she said things didn't come out like how she wanted she still said never say never in regards to a second season. She could of very well been doing the coy thing because she already knew that there was going to be a second season. Hopefully I'm wrong but it's a thought.

It's so crazy because Butterfly has never been a top album for me even though I listen to six out of twelve of the tracks. I'm compelled to sit and really listen to the other six songs that I never gave a chance so I can get a better understanding of why the Butterfly album is considered a fan favorite.

Billy and B. I just checked Wikipedia and it shows that TEOM has sold 600,000 plus units in the UK, to date. While that is platinum by UK standards, it might not translate well to impacting that 6 million put into it according to Grainge. Supposedly the record has done 6 times platinum in the US alone and 12 million world wide, which is certainly formidable, but the UK's contribution of 600,000 is relatively small.

It's funny how you bring that up. Ive wondered about Camp Mariah and her charity. When I see Madonna post her charity work, I think why Mariah does not do that. Stella should be telling her to do some Camp Mariah deal since she is into all these empower movement. I know theyre different types of charity but it's more the meaning behind them. Stella does not seem like the type to support any cause like that. Seriously, I hope Stella reads this.

Article: Mariah Carey risks a very embarrassing slip (75,513)
by Gemma from Australia

"sigh" I miss the 90's Mariah that dressed like a trendy singer with a little self respect so much, not this Mariah that dresses like nothing but a cheap prostitute who has 0 self respect. I mean what message does that send to her daughter? I personally think Nick should try and explain to Mariah that all this wearing slutty clothes is completely wrong when you have a six year old daughter who looks up to you and will probably one day dress like that, thinking it's ok for women to dress up like a hooker. *end of rant*

I could understand if the comments were about CB, as it didn't crack the top 50 in the UK, but TEOM was a top 10 and had one of the longest runs on the chart since Butterfly. It started as a top 10, hung around the mid 20s for several weeks, and then climbed back into the top 10. Her subsequent albums (and several before) were all pretty much a flash in the pan chart wise, where they enter and fall off completely after a month. TEOM was the only album of hers since the mid-90s that had any kind of chart longevity and which went up, down or maintained its position week to week. For comparison, Rainbow spent 4 weeks in the top 75, TEOM 43 weeks.

Basically every song in Charmbracelet and Glitter were like that lol. I disregarded them for so long because of the negative feedback both albums received from the public and fans, and at my first listen of both albums, I only liked bits and pieces of them. Now I can't stop playing Glitter and Charmbracelet.

Her voice is damaged. She can no longer hit the notes like she used to. So it's time we stop claiming Mariah's the only singer who's voice has changed. And she just obviously lipped a prerecorded climax. Her ensemble was hideous.

It's because, as Ribbon has said several times, that would be too much like right. Besides that, I'm not a psychologist but there's obviously something going on up there in Mariah's brain that's causing her to act in the way that she is. As said before, Mariah's not some Z-lister or unknown talentless person that has to resort to any and everything to get attention. She could choose to get attention in positive ways. She was just getting some with the family pictures, as you said she could do charity work, something good and yet she doesn't. I think there's something going on in the self-esteem department and probably a lot of other departments. She'd just rather give into it than get some help.

I popped in the Butterfly CD yesterday and let it play. MC must have been going through some tough crap. That CD puts her feelings on full display. I felt so bad for all the crap she endured. Honey I shrunk the fanbase (75,504)
by Lila from United States
| |
|
|
Right now, on social media, I'm seeing more than a few of messages from fans who are officially leaving behind their days as a fan of Mariah's. Even if not leaving, a good chunk of the fan base is still really upset about these recent actions, many are feeling quite alienated at this point. The only thing Mariah has succeeded in doing with this ridiculousness, besides embarrassing herself and inciting ridicule which sadly enough doesn't even make me blink as it's so common at this point, I'm desensitized, is causing the fan base to shrink. I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't see 2017 happening for her with the route she's decided to take.
